TOP 16 BEST VALENTINE DIYS ❤️

May 31, 2021
Hello guys, welcome back to my channel. My name is Courtney. If you are new today, I have some DIYs for Valentine's Day. Some of them are some that I just put out recently and then I also brought in some favorites that I have. done in the past, so let's get into the video to start this first DIY. I'm going to remake this clearance sign I got from the hobby lobby. It was like a dollar 28 fall clearance and I'm going to start by taking some Waverly chalk paint on the colored gesso and I'm going to paint three coats over the words to cover them.

Next, I'll take some crimson Waverly chalk paint along with the merlot and mix them together to paint some wooden letters I had in my hobby lobby stash. These we're going to spell the word love and I'm going to paint them until they have full coverage, which only took one coat then I'm going to macgyver. together a small stall here to paint some wooden beads. I only have one of these cardboard tubes left over from the Christmas wrapping paper and I'm going to cut two pieces making sure they're about the same size and then I'm just going to punch a hole. there, um, both tubes and then I'll have a dollar tree wooden bamboo skewer and that's what I'll be, I'll just go through it and I'll put my wooden beads in there and I'm going to paint four wooden beads, these are wooden beads 12 millimeters in size with pink ballet slipper Waverly chalk paint.

I'm going to leave some of the beads natural and then I'm going to paint two of them with the crimson Waverly chalk paint and then I'm going to take a piece of twine I'm going to take a piece of masking tape and I'm just going to tape the bottom to make it easier thread these beads and then my pattern will be natural pink natural red uh pink and then I'm going to tie a bow on the twine and then go ahead and do the same pattern on the other side so that way I can have a draping effect on the side to finish this.

I hot glued the little bow of twine in the center, on top of the frame there and then to finish it off, I'm just going to tie a knot on both ends next to the bead and then I'm going to hot glue it to the frame , as well as hot gluing the pink beads on, I guess. in the corners just to secure it and then the last step is to go ahead and hot glue my letters in there and then once they're there this little image is finished. I want to take a minute to say thank you.

Skillshare for collaborating with me on today's video, if you're not familiar with Skillshare, it's an online learning community that has a ton of classes ranging from photography to graphic design, illustration, and of course crafting. The first course I jumped into was an interior design course. taught by lauren cox I really wanted to get some ideas on how I could do simple things to decorate a room without having to spend a lot of money. I also bookmarked and saved to take some cookie decorating and quilling classes, so I'm really excited about those. It's actually a little less than ten dollars a month if you join the annual membership, but they've given me a link that's in the description box for the first thousand people if you want to try it out and love learning. click that link, sign up and you'll get a free trial to try a bunch of classes, it's so much fun, awesome lessons, you can make a project and I can't wait to do a lot more for this DIY I'm going to do. transforming this sign to remove the letters um, this sign was from the dollar tree, I'm just going to scratch them off.
I have better luck doing it that way. I tried nail polish to give it a twist one more time but it was really taking me longer than I wanted so I'm just going to use the scraper and then I'm going to go ahead and grab a magic eraser just to get the last bit off and then, a once that's done, I'm going to take the glass out of the frame once the glass is out, I'm going to take it and place it on top of these lyrics, so these are the lyrics to the song I Want to Grow Old With You from the movie. the wedding singer um if I can find a clip from this little part of the movie I will link that video below in the description box but basically it's at the end of the movie.
Adam Sandler sings this song to Drew Barrymore, it's so cute. song and mr cheap and I really like it so I decided to go ahead and trace the lyrics to find out exactly what size I needed to put in the glass and then since it says I want to grow old with you I decided to draw a tree freehand and cut it out of the lyrics , once the tree was cut, I decided to take a black arteza marker here and I'm just following the edges, it's not like trying to get super full coverage. something to define the tree and its branches a little more and then once that's done I'll just take some hot glue and stick my glass back to my frame and then I'll be ready to attach my tree to the glass to attach the tree to the glass without glue drops showing on the glass.
There's a little border around this frame, so I'm just going to take some hot glue and stick it on, my tree spreads out completely. On the way to the edges of the frame, I had to trim part of it, so I'm going to secure the top of the tree with a little hot glue, then I'm going to secure the bottom and then the branches will come out to the edges and I'm also going to Attach them all with a little hot glue and it will stick nice and flat. I just make sure that as I hot glue it on, I push the branch from the trunk of the branch all the way. the edge of the frame to make sure it is smooth against the frame to finish the sign.
I'm going to take this little wooden heart and I'm going to use my red arteza marker and I'm just going to color it in and then I'm going to apply hot glue. I wanted to put it very strategically underneath where it says I Want to Grow Old With You, which is right there in the middle of the trunk and there are those two blank spaces, so that's where I'm going to put my heart and I just think this is such a sweet little sign. If you could make your wedding song, if you were married, you could cut the lyrics into a heart, you could make it, you know, cut it into a ring, whatever you want to make, a house. but I think it's such a sweet little sign for such a fun little song.
Diving into this next project is a dollar tree makeover in one of these glass jars, so I'm going to remove the twine, remove the labels, do my little thing. I did a trick on the glitter, which is I'm just going to spray it with some goo, I'm going to scrape it off with a scraper and then I'm going to wipe it off and then I'm going to take some Waverly chalk paint on the colored gesso and I'm going to paint two coats. the front and back, now I'm going to take a piece of fabric that came from the hobby lobby and I'm going to cut out not necessarily an oval but kind of a big circle and this is going to add to the assembly time of my mason jar, so Now I'm going to take my piece of fabric and just lay it on top.
You don't really need to use hot glue or anything to secure it. You can do that if you want and then I'll take the exact same thing. thread and just slide it over the fabric and create a nice little ruffle around it naturally by pushing this down and then on the front I'm just going to hot glue one of these little metal hearts that I had left over in my stash from a previous project and there you have it, a small and simple glass jar inspired by Valentine's Day. Here's an easy dollar tree to make, so taking one of these little signs, I'm going to go ahead and break it down and take it out the back.
I decided to leave the gray frame for this once it broke down, all I did was take a piece of scrapbook paper I had in my stash, it came from the hobby lobby and I glued it to the back of the sign and then continued and I painted the little circle white and attached it to the back and then I had a little wooden heart that I painted pink and put it on top of the white circle and that's it, this is a great little DIY to fill trays or a shelf or just to have it on your desk, it's super easy and super simple for this dollar tree, you will need four love signs and you will start by removing the hanging accessories, set them aside, save them for another project and then you are going to want to choose the paint color what would you like.
I'm going to use chalk paint in the color linen white and I'm going to paint the front and sides of the love sign that you don't necessarily have. to paint the back if you don't want to and I'll show you why in a moment the next step is to grab some burlap tape, this was just in clearance from the hobby lobby and you're going to want to use some hot tape. Glue and hot glue the entire back of the love sign. Now you'll notice it's brown and the burlap ribbon is brown, which is why I chose not to paint the back so these colors blend together a little.
Better and I'm just going to glue the love sign on top of the burlap centered and leave about two inches on each end. I'm going to finish doing that with all four pieces and then I'll be ready. to start working on putting together my vase, so you're going to start by taking two of the love signs and using a very strong adhesive glue. I wouldn't recommend using just hot glue if you want this to be permanent so I'm going to take some e6000 and I'm going to put it on the bottom of this love sign and then I'm going to put my other love sign on it and then I'm going to let it sit overnight and then I will do the same. thing for the other two, so I basically end up with two sections of this vase that will dry overnight once the box is assembled.
I decided I didn't really want the burlap sticking out of the top as part of my stove arrangement. So I went ahead and trimmed it, so that's an option. If you don't want the burlap to be part of your arrangement, you don't have to overlap it on the side, so I'm going to trim it safely. the burlap inside the base and then I wanted to do a couple more things just to make it a little bit safer, a little bit more secure I should say, and I just took two tower blocks and made some little wooden L-bracket type things here and then I'm just going to glue them in the corners to help secure this vase and then the last step is to place the flower arrangement in there and you could add twinkle lights if you wanted.
You can also do it vertically. Well, if you wanted more of a planner box style, that would be super cute too, but there you go, a little vase of love for your Valentine's decor. In the next dollar tree DIY, you're going to start with one of these tencel hearts and you're going to want to take all the tension off once the tension is off you're going to go in and go ahead and cut the little tabs that are attached to the heart once Once they're out, you're ready to go ahead and wrap it. I'm going to use some nautical rope from Dollar Tree and to wrap this I ended up using a full 13 foot bundle as well as a little bit from a second bundle and I'm just going to go in and secure it with some hot glue.
As I wrap it, when it's done, I'll go in and go ahead and add a little bit of embellishment using some dollar tree lace and I'll go ahead and wrap that and then you. You can add a small hanger on top and you will get a very simple but elegant farmhouse heart to make this Valentine's Day sign. You'll need some kind of photo frame, so this one came from the hobby lobby, but you can certainly choose. grab one from the dollar tree or just use one from the thrift store or whatever type of frame you have.
You want to start by breaking the frame and removing the glass. Once you've done that, you're going to pick a piece of burlap, either It's a colored piece like red, pink or purple, or you can make it white or you can just make a regular tan color, that's what I'm going to choose here and just you're going to take the back of the frame and we're going to trace around it on the burlap and then we're going to cut it out and then we're going to glue the piece of burlap to the back of the frame, then we're going to take a piece of foam board from the Dollar Tree and some of these letters from posters that I can also get it from the dollar tree.
I'm going to go ahead and trace love to spell love on the foam board and then I'm going to cut them out once the letters are cut out, you want to take some kind of thread here. I have a kind of gradient color yarn. Michael has a lot of selection of these. They also have one that has red, pink and white. I'm going to start wrapping all the letters until they are completely covered, securing them with heat. Glue every once in a while, once they're all wrapped I'm just going to hot glue them directly to the burlap and once I put it all together I realized I wanted to go ahead and print the frame and lighten it up.
I went up a little bit so I did it with some chalk paint and then there you have a very sweet little love sign that you can put anywhere in your house. This DIY is something I made and am going to recreate and I made one for Jennifer. from a bit of common and shannon madness, everyday DIY, so to make this you will need some type of wooden round. I got these wooden rounds from the hobby lobby and theFirst step is to go ahead and draw your birch trees. I'm going to go ahead and do it once they're sketched and you know, improvised, I mean there's really no rhyme or reason to it, once you have the sketch I'll take it.
A little bit of white paint and I'm going to go ahead and paint the trunks of the birch trees. Once the logs were painted, I grabbed my wood burning tool, which is, um, I drew a blank on the name, but I'll link the one I have below. below I have had it for several years it comes with tons of tips and makes burning wood very easy and I just went ahead and outlined the trunks and then I took a pencil and drew a heart on the center one and then I'm going to go in with some of the crimson wave really chalk paint and go ahead and fill it in with red then I'll take my wood burning tool and go ahead and go in with all the details on the trunks as well as do the branches and that's it.
Make it an ornament if you want or you can use it for something you display maybe on a three tier tray, but it's something you could leave out all year round, it doesn't just have to be for Valentine's Day and in the heart. What I did to make it a little more special is I only did the initials so for us it was s plus c and j plus b and s plus b for shannon and jennifer so it's a super fun little project to do and definitely a great project for beginners . If you haven't tried wood burning I found it pretty easy to make the birches here's another dollar tree so for this one you're going to need a wooden heart and I'm going to start by painting it with some of the Crimson Red Waverly Chalk Paint now this could be for anyone it could be for your kids it could be for your spouse it could be for your boyfriend your girlfriend a friend a coworker and what you're going to do after you've painted this is what I cut out with my cricut um something that says sam because I have a son named Sam Mom and Dad love you because now you could know change it a little bit and say if it's for a co-worker - worker, you could say you know Sally, I appreciate you because and then, every day, from the 1st to the 14th February, you'll write a reason on one of the Dollar Tree foam hearts.
They have a pack of foam hearts, so what we do is hang them. on the children's doors and then starting February 1, Mr. Boss and I take turns writing the reasons why we love them and tape them to their door at night so that when they wake up in the tomorrow they come out and they're all over the door so just a fun little thing you can do it's super easy if you don't have a cricut you can make a stencil with your words on there no problem or you can even make a printable and just cut it out and modify it or spray it with adhesive. to the heart, but it's just a sweet little way to tell people how much you love, like or appreciate them during the month of February.
Well, who doesn't love a good Advent calendar? So for this DIY you are going to need some kind of thick wooden heart and this came from the goal a long time ago. I sanded the paint that I had and what I'm doing is marking 14 little dots trying to space them evenly and then I'm I'm going to take my drill and a Forstner bit. This is a three-quarter drill bit that you just put in your drill. I'll try to attach some below and you're going to drill holes. Now I was a little wrong here and I wish.
I had done this but you want to punch go ahead and punch the hole all the way through because then on the back what you can do is put a really nice piece of scrapbook paper because what happens is they'll pull out the hershey . kiss and then you can see so some of mine have weird, crooked holes in them and I really should have drilled all the way through so definitely do that if you're going to do this and then I'm just going to paint. This with the crimson red Waverly chalk paint and while the heart dries I need to make some labels for my Hershey's kisses so Avery's little round labels again I'll try to link some below the ones I used if I could find them.
I just went in there, each website found the sticker size, got a template and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to go in and make some countdown stickers, so I'm just going to add a heart and then I go. to make 14 13 12 11 10 9 you get the idea so I'm going to print this out on my printer and then once that's done I'm going to use my cricut to cut out the words kiss countdown and attach it. front and then the matter of just placing your little tags on your Hershey's kisses and sticking them there and voila you have a little Valentine's advent calendar for this DIY we are transforming a sequin pillow so what What you want to do is take your pillow and spray it with some spray adhesive and then put a piece of burlap on it, then turn it over, spray the sequin side and again put some burlap on it, then you want to go around the edges and push .
Put them together so you get your heart shape back and once you've done that and it's all nice and sealed, you're going to want to go ahead and go in with your scissors. Now I didn't trace around it or anything, I just took it freehand and cut about an inch around the heart to give it the heart shape. Once you've cut out the whole heart, you want to grab a yarn needle and some thread and you're just going to do a basic stitch, just go in there. and out, in and out, in and out along the edge of the heart and then at the top, I'm just going to take my extra pieces of thread and go ahead and tie a bow and then there.
You have a little decorative pillow that you can put on a couch, a chair, a couch, a bed, a shelf, whatever you want to do, put it in a basket, but it's just a cute little way to dress up those sequin hearts. dollar tree I'm going to use one of my favorite techniques to make this Valentine's Day DIY, so what I have here is a piece of wood that has been sanded and I'm going to take some elephant Waverly chalk paint and I'm going to paint two good coats on the board once it's all dry, I'm going to take a votive candle and cover the front and the sides very, very well with a thick layer of this candle, making sure to get rid of any little bits or pieces that are left over, just make sure it's nice and soft and waxy.
Once the board is completely covered with wax, I'll take some of this Waverly chalk paint and colored gesso and paint a good coat all over the front. and the sides of the board now this is the fun part so you want to grab some type of scraper and when this gesso colored paint is almost dry but still a little sticky you're going to want to go in with your scraper and start hitting it in all the places. on the edges it's a good spot in the corners it's a good spot just hit it where you want to get that authentic chipped look and this kind of um I really feel like this gives it a look like I said authentic chipped versus just dry brushing because it has that layer of wax so you get a little bit of depth with this and I really love this technique.
I learned it in Creativation last year and it's one of my favorite things to do, so once it's all done, I'll do it. ready to go ahead and have my template ready to stamp on my hugs and kisses phrase here is the template I'm going to use. I just made this on my cricut with some plastic stencil paper that you can buy at hobby lobby and I'm going to tape this down here and then before I go in with my black paint, I'm going to go in and stamp this with the Plaster Waverly chalk paint again and what this will do is put that paint on first.
My stencil and then covering it again with the black will keep my letters from bleeding under my stencil, so I'm just going to use a sponge to go ahead and stamp this stencil on there and then the last step is going to be just gluing. the hangers on the top of my sign, since I decided to put this outside, I'm going to go ahead and put some Amy Howard cream wax to seal this sign and then I'm just going to grab two eye hooks that I have a some twine tied, I'm just going to screw them into the top of the sign and then it's all done for this DIY.
I'm starting with three of these craft hearts that came in a package from the hobby lobby. and what I love about them is that they are actually adhesive on one side so this makes this really easy. I'm going to take some white yarn and I'm going to wrap these hearts around until I get a nice full coverage so they're puffy. but it was nice because I didn't have to use my glue gun to help secure the thread. I could just wrap it around and that adhesive helped the yarn stick once all the hearts were wrapped with yarn.
I had these wooden hearts that came in a package. from hobby lobby which I just went ahead and painted with some brown cream wax and then I was ready to get my thread. Sorry, my fabric strips are ready and I'm just using this red fabric with tiny little hearts that came from hobby lobby and I ended up cutting a bunch of strips that were five inches long and one inch wide and then I also took some of the ribbon of burlap that the hobby lobby has and I left it at the width it had, which was five and a half inches, and I cut it.
They were about an inch wide, once I cut them out I was ready to assemble my garland. I started in the center of a piece of nautical rope that came from the dollar tree and glued my yarn heart there, you will notice that the heart is somewhat glued. towards the top if you glue it towards the center of the heart that heart will fall forward when you try to hang it so I went ahead and glued it and then it's just a matter of figuring out my pattern so I tied on some red fabric burlap and it was working with it and then I realized I wanted a couple pieces of lace in there so I also cut five inch pieces of dollar tree lace and worked them in there and just pieced them together until I got it how I wanted to make a pattern white heart cloth, you know, wooden heart cloth, white heart cloth, etc., and so on, and that's it.
This little garland is finished while we think about garlands. Here is a shabby chic garland I made. You're going to need a piece of nautical rope to get started. I picked out three different fabrics, they all came from the hobby lobby, one was buffalo plaid, one was white, sheer but not quite, and then the other was pink lace. and I cut them one by 12 and then to put them on the rope I just made a loop and then I pulled out the tails like this and I kept repeating the buffalo plaid white pink lace pattern, sorry, yeah, pink lace and then regular lace and then regular lace with buffalo plaid white pink icing you get the idea and then once the pattern was finished I had some wooden hearts left over and I just took two shades of pink and painted three hearts of the darker shade and then three . hearts the other shade of pink and then once it was done I had this frayed thread left over from when I made the little love sign and I just went in and added that just to add another element to the garland and then I tried to figure out what I wanted them to be the hearts, but I ended up gluing them directly onto the garland with hot glue and just making the pattern a darker light pink, a darker light and that's it, this little shabby chic garland is all finished at the ends, I just made a little knot and that's it, moving to another dollar tree.
I'm going to remove one of the hearts from this sign and then I'm going to remove that annoying glitter using goo gone and my little scraper, that's my preferred method to remove that glitter and once I remove it I'm going to grab some white chalk paint Waverly and I'll paint it two good coats so it's nice and Covered in white paint, then you'll take some tower blocks and I'll stack them, making three go in one direction and then the next row in the other direction, like you would if you were going to play. um the jenga game and I marked them on the sides and then I'm just going to go in with the red marker and make little hearts on the ends of the blocks and then once that's done I'm going to take three of them. and place it on top of my white heart so I can draw with pencil I love you because I'm just going to write it by hand.
If you have a cricut or silhouette, you can cut something out. You could use templates here. Make stickers whatever you want to do and then once I've traced my pencil marks I'm going to take three of the blocks and I'm going to go ahead and stick them together with a little bit of this quick strength glue uh dap it's like super glue and then I'm going to analyze the small tower blocks. I'm just going to write down different reasons why I love specs and I mean, it could be anything. I love you because you take care of the dog.
I love you because you put gas in my car. They are terrible examples I love you because you don't snore I mean whatever you want to say you know I love you because you love me whatever you want to do and then you can take one out every day and you can put in as many as if you want, you can do it for the whole month of February or just do a 14 or whatever you want to do, but it's just a fun little way to let someone know why you love them. This DIY is probably one of my topicsValentine's favorites.

diys

i have made, so what you are going to need for this is some fabric.
I'm going to use two different fabrics. You can use the same fabric or you can use a different one. It depends on you and what I do. What I'm doing is simply cutting a small square of the fabric. I need to have two hearts on one fabric and two hearts on the other that are the same size, so I'm just going to cut a little bit. square here and go ahead and cut out a heart. I'm handing it loose to end up with two pieces, then I'll use that red piece to cut the red and white stripe and then I finish with two red and white stripe pieces and then once they're both cut I have a cream colored fabric that I'm just going to cut two small rectangular pieces, there are no important measurements here, I'm just looking at them. and then once I've cut them out, I'm going to go ahead and glue the two pieces of the heart together and I'm just going to use a little bit of Alain's sticky glue and glue all the edges together except for the bottom of the heart, the point I'm going to leave open so I can fill it one once you glue them and they are dry.
You can certainly sew it if you want. I'm going to take some white rice and I'm going to mix some essential oils, you can use any oil you want, use peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus and I'm going to mix them together and then I'm going to pour them into the little hearts making sure not to pour them in until the pieces heart are really dry and secured together and then I'll go ahead and take a little bit more glue and seal them once it's done. Take those two pieces of cream and I'm going to stamp my words, so one of these little rectangles of cream will say cold hands and the other one will say warm heart and I'm just using my stamps and the normal ink to and then I'll stick it on top of the hearts and voila, you have some hand warmers, you can put them in the microwave, heat them up and then save those hands and give them to someone you love and help them have warm hands and there you have some Valentine's Day DIYs.
I hope they bring you some inspiration. I thought about it in this video, I'm just letting you see how I'm decorating my three tier tray, let me know in the comments below. one of these DIYs was your favorite, also let me know, since this is my first video of 2021, let me know what is the main goal you have for this year.
