What I recommend doing with many of the items on this top 10 list is To start building small modules using those little 5-quart plastic shoe boxes, you can get them at Dollar Tree, but I like the quality of the sterilized ones that you can pick up at Home Depot or Target. I think they are much better. and easiest to stack the number one preparation to buy at Dollar Tree is matches. I've been buying my matches at Dollar Tree for years. Now I like to collect the big matches in the kitchen boxes. They are wrapped in plastic, so they hold a little. of water protection and I have been using the matches I bought at the Dollar Tree probably 10 years ago to this day.

This would be another great barter item. I also collect the smaller quantity of 32 strike in the box matches. These work. It's great to have in various rooms in your house. I recommend storing your stash of matches in one of those little sterilized plastic boxes. Put a label on the front and keep adding preparation number two to buy for months and years. Dollar Tree is candles Dollar Tree offers a wide variety of candles for one dollar. You can get tall Jesus candles, a multi-pack of smaller candles, and also tea light candles. When you go to the candle section at Dollar Tree, you will notice that Jesus is absolutely dominating the tall glass candle market, however, I like to just choose the tall glass candles that are white, although they are available in several colors.

After using the candles, you can always use that glass for something else, I think multi-pack candles. They are also a good deal. I found that you can get tea lights in larger quantities for a better price elsewhere, but again, at number two we have candles and at number three we have lighters. Dollar Tree offers you a few different types of lighters. You could get the small large style lighters for edc purposes and you could also get the longer ones that you would use for your BBQ or to light candles if I can't find the bic lighters at the Dollar Tree when I go.
Avoid the generic ones and I'll just buy an extra of the long lighters. These work great to add to multiple kits and can be used for bartering purposes, so lighters number three for number four I have combined into a three for one. and those are dental items, you can buy a new toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss for a dollar. Each dollar tree offers the same brands you would buy at any other store, but only for one dollar. In a previous video, I talked about how to develop a little dental hygiene. kit again using one of those little sterilized plastic boxes, start doing the same thing, but just check the dollar tree for your supplies, so every time you go to the dollar tree, pick up an extra toothbrush, a tube additional toothpaste and additional dental floss, add it. to your dental hygiene kit and continue to accumulate it over a period of months again at number four dental supplies at number five we have hand sanitizer.
I try to use the 70% alcohol hand sanitizer that we all remember at the beginning of the pandemic. was to find hand sanitizer so start preparing your pandemic preparedness kit and just pick up a single bottle of hand sanitizer every time you go to the Dollar Tree and number six we have batteries or what I like to call batteries barter in a previous video. I showed how I store my batteries in small ammo boxes. These are my main reserve of batteries that we use in our house and also for emergency purposes. However, I recommend going to Dollar Tree to get their trade-in batteries, a small pack of four or eight batteries. which you could give away either for barter purposes or simply to give to people during an emergency situation.
I try my best to use more name brand batteries rather than a generic one, although since these are larger batteries, get as much as you can again. store them in one of those little sterilized plastic containers and keep adding them so again at number six we have batteries at number seven we have medications. I try to stick with brand name medications instead of some off-brand generics, but they are available. a bottle of pain reliever or another type of medication that would be useful to have during an emergency situation, so simply take a single bottle of aspirin or tylenol or cold medicine, store it in a sterile plastic container, and keep adding it over a period of months for your barter medication, I think Dollar Tree has a pretty good stock of general office supplies, however, when I go there, I always buy an extra marker and use them in almost all of my medicine cabinets, whether it's a first aid kit or an insect.
In my bag or in my vehicle, whatever, there's probably a Sharpie marker in there, but they often get lost, so it's always good to stock up on extra, so every time you go to the Dollar Tree, just pick up an extra marker that I normally use. the black Sharpies, although you can also get a red or blue or whatever other color is being offered at Dollar Tree at the time, at number nine we have kitchen wrappers like ziploc bags or aluminum foil. I'll usually alternate between the two I like. These gallon ziploc bags to use as modules for some of my kits offer water protection for the items you store there.
You can easily label them and they are transparent so you can see the items that are stored in that particular module. Getting a box of ziploc bags for a dollar is a good price. I also buy aluminum foil that can be used for a variety of different things, like wrapping your electronics in your bug out bags and bringing bags home for Faraday protection, which might be a bit of an overstatement, but it's what I do so every time you go to the Dollar Tree just grab an extra box of ziploc bags or a roll of aluminum foil and add it to your stash and at number 10 we have plastic drop cloths this is kind of my wildcard item , but I found that lately I wanted to add plastic protectors to many more of my kits.
You could use them as shelter to build a solar still, but I've mainly been building up my plastic stash. Drop class for containment room purposes a few years ago, long before Covet 19, I made a video of my pandemic containment room kit; However, nowadays I am adding these plastic cloths to other kits, such as bug out bags or getting home bags, and more. so, again, every time you go to the dollar tree, just grab an extra plastic tarp and add it to your collection. If you are like me, you will find a kit to add it and that concludes the 10 best preparations to buy in dollars. tree on each visit let's start reviewing some of the honorable mentions.
