In this project, we will start with two bold vases from the

dollar

tree

and will also need two packs of natural wood boxes from the tallest

tree

. Now we're going to start staining our block, so I'm protecting my work surface. and gathering my supplies and I'll be

using

my favorite dye, this minwax jacobian, so start by removing all the blocks from the package and make sure to grab some gloves as this can get pretty messy now that I'll be dyeing. All my blocks make sure you cover all sides now. If you get the pack of blocks that have multiple colors you can definitely use them and I think they would give the stand a unique look but if you can give it a try. get all the natural blocks to emulate this look now once they are all stained you just want to set them aside to dry completely and now that they are dry we can start assembling our base frame now as the frames will have different heights. we will assemble a frame that is three blocks

high

and three blocks wide and then this other frame will be six blocks

high

and three blocks wide and we will make two side supports for each set, one will be three blocks high with one block on one side and the other . one would be six blocks high with two blocks on the sides.

Now I'm going to glue them together with

dollar

tree wood glue. Now I'll also use this dollar tree carpenter's square to make sure my pieces are nice. and even so we're going to start by gluing the first three blocks together as shown here and then putting that block aside and we're going to make two sets like this and then we're going to adhere the nine base block together as well, then I'm going to adhere the pieces sides for the other base and then the large base for the other tall piece and here are all the sets glued together and you want to make sure they dry completely now.

Once they are all dry, we can start assembling our stand. I'm going to take the pieces for my short bracket and I'm going to put them together in a tea shape and then I'm going to take that wood glue and I'm going to add it to the side supports and I want to adhere it to the center of that base and then I'm going to do the same with the bracket high now that these have started to come together, we're going to Apply a block to each end of that bracket and I'm just going to apply a little bit of that wood glue to each of the ends and then I'm going to place one of those blocks on the end of each piece and I want to let them dry completely now, once they're dry, we can add our bowls now to these bowls.

I want to add some of these white stones that I bought at the dollar tree a while ago and I'll also use some of these succulents. which I also bought at the dollar tree. Now I'm just going to add some stones to my bowls and I want to add about half and then I want to place a succulent in each one. I'm just clipping them to make sure. fit in the rocks now, once you have added your two succulents you are done with this project and here is the complete project on display. I think they turned out fantastic.
I really love the look of these succulents with the wood and it really looks high end with two block boxes in the dollar tree, we will need a set of these glass dollar tree candle holders. Now the first thing we're going to do is lay down the clear silicone mat and grab your blocks now, I dyed a bunch of these ahead of time with my mimwax Jacobian dye so now you just want to grab the ruler for your blocks and your glue gun hot. Now I'm going to use the surebonder wood hot glue sticks for This project today now for each bracket each side will be three blocks long and we will be assembling 12 sets of three blocks so now that we have all of our sets we can join the three strips together now We're just going to apply heat. glue along the narrow side of the strip and adhere the three strips together and this is one side of the bracket and we'll repeat this for the other strip so now I'm going to grab my carpenter's square which is also available in dollars. tree and I'm going to place the sides up and glue them together and once those two sides are attached you just want to add the remaining two sides, now you want to make sure to sandwich the sides between the top and bottom pieces and here is your first complete stand , so now for the second support we will have two blocks on the sides and three blocks on the top and bottom, so you want to start assembling your strips like we did the first time and then once all the strips are done, you can start joining the three strips.
Now you want to make sure that during this process you just want to make sure that you remove any glue that's leaking out between the seams for a cleaner look and now we can assemble our. second holder and we want to make sure that for this holder we want to sandwich the shorter side pieces between the two longer pieces and now your two holders are complete so now you want to grab the two candle holders and remove them from the package now these will sit on top of our block holders, but first we're going to paint them with this krylon satin black spray paint and here are my candle holders, all dry, so now you can take your holders and now what we're going to do is apply one of the candle holders on top of each one so to secure them I'll start by adding a little bit of e6000 to the top center of each holder and then I'll add a Place a line of hot glue around the bottom of the candle holder and press it right on top of that e6000 and here they are my two full holders and now you can add some candles so I just happened to not have any tea lights but I did have these. votive candles that fit perfectly and here are the holders on display and I really love this look.
Now I think black accent wood is perfect for men and women and can be

decor

ated to fit any space. For each mirror you will need two boxes of these.

tower

blocks and an 11 by 14 wall mirror, the first thing you need to do is remove all packaging from your falling

tower

blocks, separate your blocks by color if your

game

contains dark and light blocks, here I show you how they will look the blocks. As they are assembled, it is a good idea to use a right-angle ruler to make sure your pieces are aligned correctly. I also bought this dollar tree ruler when you are ready to line up your blocks, it is helpful to use other blocks to help with alignment.
Additionally, we want to use a combination of e6000 hot glue to adhere the blocks. Any glue oozing from the connection can be removed with a skewer or pencil and here are the eight side pieces assembled. You will use ten blocks. for four sets and twelve blocks for the other four sets, now we can assemble the entire frame. We're going to start with the outside of the frame using the longer pieces and arranging them as I show here. Next we can start adding the shorter sections. the inside of the frame, after adjusting the pieces to fit we can adhere them with e6000 and hot glue where the pieces connect, we want to make sure they dry completely and here is the frame completely dry and secured before we continue.
To go ahead and lightly sand the blocks to remove any imperfections or glue buildup on the assembly, we are now ready to prime. I'm going to use this Krylon All Purpose Adhesive Primer and apply two light coats, letting them dry for 30 minutes in between Once the primer is dry we can apply the color. I'll use this Krylon Gloss Silver Spray Paint and lightly apply two coats, letting it dry 30 minutes between each coat while the frame dries. We can go ahead and work on the mirror, start by removing the packaging around the frame of the mirror, then we'll go ahead and make a simple hanging wire for the back of the mirror, we'll use a wire I picked up from hardware.
Some time ago a section of dollar tree cut a piece about 12 inches long and we want to make sure we fold it in half twice to make a double strand, then we want to go ahead and twist the strands together, then we want to move on. and we took our needle nose pliers and rolled each of the ends a few inches. Now we're just going to flatten and adjust the hanging wire so we can apply it to the mirror. Now take that e6000 and let's apply a generous amount. quantity for each of the side coils we want to go ahead and wipe off any excess with a skewer or a pencil and now we're going to take this and push it to the side to dry now that our frame is dry.
We can go ahead and apply the mirror, flip the frame over and we want to place the mirror on top of the frame facing down, take a pencil and mark the top and bottom edges for proper alignment so that when we glue it on we know exactly where. to place it now take that e6000 and apply it to the blocks that are sticking out inwards towards the mirror, finally take your mirror and carefully apply it to the frame making sure you line it up with the lines you just marked and press that mirror very gently. Lay it out and let it dry completely and then when it's dry you can hang the creation.
This project was inspired by Z Gallery's fin mirror that sells on their site for $299. I love the similarity of this project, don't get me wrong. I love Z. gallery in their glamorous designs, but we can create this dollar tree for just three dollars per mirror, which is definitely a DIY on a budget. Now for this project we are going to need a box of this 72 Count Dollar Tree Spinning Tower Set. so I'm going to lay out my Sherbonder silicone mat and my ruler and go ahead and remove all of those blocks from the container so you can dye ahead if you want.
I didn't have much time to do this and I'm going to stain later just be careful when adding the glue and I'm going to use hot wood glue from a safe binder so we're going to start putting some blocks together and we're going to apply that hot glue along the side of the blocks and we'll end up adding about 12 blocks in this row, you just want to repeat the gluing process until you have all 12 blocks right and even now once you've finished the first one, we're going to do three. more now you should have a total of four sets of 12.
The next thing we are going to do is join six blocks, now we are going to make two sets of six blocks and here are those completed now for the remaining blocks, we are going to join two sets of blocks together and then we're going to join four sets of blocks together on all sides and here are those pieces all together and now we can start assembling our block. box, so the first thing we're going to do is take those two long sides and we want to place them on the sides and then we're going to take the two short ones, now we want to line them up with a short side. the pieces go a little bit in towards the edge, not all the way on the edge, a little bit upside down, just a little bit now once they are laid out you need to go ahead and apply the hot glue to the set of blocks and place those sides right in place. now once both side pieces are in place go ahead and lay it on its side and we'll start adding hot glue to that last 12 block piece and then secure it in place on the side of the short one. blocks now here's our completed box frame, so now what we're going to do is add the top border, so we're going to take one of those four sets of blocks and we're going to line it up along one. of the long sides of the box making sure the inside edge is nice and even with the block and then we'll add the two side pieces back in making sure the inside edge is nice and even now the outside edge will overlap the block. side and then finally we're going to add that last long piece and this should fit perfectly into place just apply that hot glue and put it in place so now we're going to work on the bottom so we're going to take those last two pieces of 12 12 inch blocks and we're going to put them together right in the center and then we're going to place them right in the bottom center between the two sides of the box, now just apply a generous amount of that. hot glue toalong those short sides and then you want to place that piece right in the center and now our box is fully assembled.
Now I noticed that there is a little gap on each side of the bottom, so to remedy that I'm going to take a couple more of those bamboo skewers that I have and I'm going to place them to the side, I'm going to trim them to size and, To secure them, simply run a thin bead of hot glue along that seam and press that bamboo. Thread the skewer into place and we've done this on both sides so now we're ready to stain our box and I'm going to use the same Minwax Jacobian dye. Go ahead and start staining the box by staining the inside first, making sure the dye sets. apply well and even then you want to do this all over the inside and outside of the box and once you've done that if you have any gaps again, take that little little brush and apply that stain on all those seams that you couldn't reach and now that's done we can let it completely dry so now that it's dry we can start

decor

ating our box so I chose to go with some succulents that I had on hand from the dollar tree now you can add some of these black rocks as an accent on the bottom or you can add some white rocks and I think I'm going to use the white rocks for this project so the box is it's very shallow so I'm going to fill that void with some of this crumpled craft paper and I'm going to place just one white paper towel on top and then I'm going to fill the rest with some of these white rocks and now I could start adding all my succulents into the box however you want to organize them do it as your heart desires and here's the final look I think it's so sweet now I love the color of the succulents and the wood and it looks so amazing together any of these wooden dollar tree puzzles for kids, a pack of these tower blocks that fall into a dollar tree and four stir sticks paint that now come in tin packets for 98 cents we want to take out about 20 of the blocks and set them aside and we also want to wrap up our paint sticks and set them aside as well and then grab our puzzle piece we want to go ahead and remove all the packaging now you can remove the puzzle pieces on the back, but I'm going to go ahead and leave them inside and secure them with wood glue because this leaves a clean, level finish and a great presentation if you plan on selling them, so now that all the puzzle pieces are safe, let's go ahead and cover them with some brown craft paper.
Now all we're going to do is run a drop of that hot glue all over the side of the puzzle and secure it in place. on the craft paper and then we go ahead and trim off that excess and now we're going to go ahead and sand the maker's print on the side of the wood, so now I'm going to go ahead and lay down my cutting mat. and I'm going to take my exact knife and I want to trim the remaining craft paper around the edges. Now my potion is about 11 and a half by eight and a half inches, so we want our paint sticks to fit, so I'm done.
I trimmed about a half inch from the two long paint sticks to measure 11 inches and trimmed the other paint sticks to six and a quarter inches to fit between the two long sticks. Once I had all my measurements in place, I took them outside and cut them out with my jigsaw, so here are my pieces, all cut and ready, and now I'm going to go ahead and test them to make sure they fit the puzzle board. Everything looks good, so now we're ready to stain, so I'm going to go ahead and place a plastic bag to cover my work surface.
Now I'm going to use this oxide-oleum stain in a cabernet color which is a very deep cherry red color, now I know this can get messy. So I'm going to go ahead and put on some gloves. Now I will make sure the dye is mixed well before using it. You can also use a mixture of acrylic, paint, and water if you don't have dye. So now what am I going to do? What I'm going to do is take a piece of old towel and what I'm going to do is apply the color to the wooden puzzle, look how rich that color is, wow, and then I'm going to apply the dye to the dryer. box blocks and the paint sticks and then we'll just set them aside to dry so now that everything is dry it's time to put them together so to do this I'm going to use wood glue now.
To go ahead and start by placing my box of glasses on the puzzle board with five blocks along the long side and four blocks along the short side and now that they're all in place I can secure them with that wood glue and here they are all there. Now that the blocks are glued in place while drying, we can go ahead and glue the top edge. Now I'm just going to put the pieces together the same way we did when we measured them at the top of the puzzle now once we're. Ready to put that molding on top, we're just going to go ahead and apply a little bit of wood glue to the top of each of the glass boxes and for added security we're going to put a small dot of hot glue on each one. corner and then we place that frame on top and gently press it into place and then we let this dry completely and it's ready to use and here is the completed project now this color, I'm very excited about this rich color came in this tray this tray It is a masterpiece and I have adorned it with some ivory candles and some greenery as an accent for this project.
You will need four boxes of these dollar tree tower play blocks and a piece of foam board. Use it for the base you want to start by opening all the blocks and removing all the packaging. Now you'll notice that my blocks come in two different colors, so what I'm going to do is go ahead and separate them into two groups since they sometimes vary in size and texture, so now grab your foam board, so what I did was sketch out an octagon shape and I'm going to use that as a guide. Now you can do this also by making sure that each side of your octagon is about 2 and 1 8 inches, now all I'm going to do is trace that shape on my foam board in two different places and then I'll just trace it with a marker to can See it better now here, I'm just going to use my x-acto knife and I'm going to cut off the excess foam board making sure to leave a slight edge around those shapes, okay, now we're going to start building our vases, you want to start Adding your first layer of blocks, you want to place them on the long side and shape them around that octagon shape.
Placing them will give you a visual light so you can see what they will look like before gluing them. down now once everything looks good go ahead and take your first block and you want to add a little bit of e6000 and a little bit of hot glue and you want to secure it in place you want to repeat this all the way around the octagon shape to both ways now for each layer you will add from now on you will only use e6000 on the block and here is the progress so far to show you in detail how each block will be placed with the e6000 now all you have to do is move the blocks to make sure Make sure they are in the right place and make any adjustments.
If you had used hot glue here, they wouldn't be able to move and once they are perfectly in place, apply hot glue to the inside where the corners are. Tap and here are the fully constructed vases. They'll end up being about nine layers tall, so now I'm going to go ahead and cut them out and trim off the excess foam board using the shape of the vase as a guide and here they are. They are cut and ready to go and now we are going to take them outside and prepare them for painting. Now I'll use two light coats of this Krylon Multi-Purpose White Adhesive Primer and once it dries, I'll put two coats on. of this krylon gloss aluminum spray paint and here they are completely painted inside and out now that they are dry we can use them in our

home

decoration now I want to make a couple of different flower arrangements in mind so I just gathered some flowers from my stash and created a couple different themes just wait until you see them and here they are all decorated oh my gosh look at these vases they are so beautiful and the roses look amazing that silver color brings out all the details.
These stand out, they are very versatile and just adding something as simple as flowers really creates a beautiful display. Now for this project, we will need two of the Dollar Tree Square MDF Art Signs and these come in several different designs and patterns. and you can use any similar piece you find. We will need two boxes of dollar tree blocks. Two of these wooden garden stakes were 50 cents from Dollar General, but you can also get them at Lowe's. silver bowls that come in this four-pack from the dollar tree, a napkin ring and this one comes in a six-pack from the dollar tree, a shower curtain ring and this one is in a 12-pack from the dollar tree and a gift box cover he had left me.
Finished with our previous project, now the first thing we are going to do is cut the garden stakes to 12 inches each or you can also use square dowels and then you can prepare your two pieces of box art by removing all the ribbons. and embellishments, now you also want to turn them over and remove the hanging hardware and also those stickers on the inside, now on one of the pieces you want to sand down any art or glitter until it's nice and smooth because this is going to be the top. the flashlight now just set them aside and I'm going to lay down my surebonder silicone mat and grab my blocks so I'm going to grab a ruler and start gluing the blocks in groups of three and that's it.
I want to make sure that as you glue them together you want to clean up any glue that oozes out of the seams as you go. Now you want to continue this until you have eight three piece suits, so now you want to take one of those suits and three. loose blocks and you want to space them evenly across the top of that stick and then just take another stick and place it right on top now once everything looks good with this placement we're going to start gluing them together and I'm using a square of dollar tree carpenter and this will make sure that all the sides are nice and still start applying the glue to the center blocks on the bottom stick first and then apply glue to the top of the center three. blocks and you want to place that second stick right on top, so now we'll repeat this for the remaining sets and also fill it in a second box of blocks.
Now you're going to end up with eight of these straight ball style pieces when You're done, now we're ready to put the lantern together and you want to put your stakes together in a sand free box and this is going to be the bottom of the lantern so what we're going to do is apply heat. glue in each corner and we're going to apply a stake to that inside corner and this is a temporary hold now once they're all secured in place we're going to apply screws to the bottom so we want to make sure our brackets are nice and heals securely, so I'm going to drill a pilot hole in each corner through that stake, so then we're going to use four of the number six one-inch wood screws in each of those pilot holes, so now that's it. finished, we can apply our straight ball pieces.
Now here I'm going to line up one end of that straight ball piece with the edge of the stake and let the other end overlap slightly. We're just going to repeat this across the bottom. of our flashlight and simply apply the glue to the areas that come into contact with those stakes. Now for that second piece of art, we'll apply the pieces around the top edge and you'll want to make sure the block piece is flush with the inside. of the frame and slightly overlaps the outside, it will now be placed all the way to the corner, leaving a gap at the end to accommodate the piece that will go on the next side, so you'll want to continue this all the way around now.
I noticed that applying the block sets before the stakes makes for a cleaner fit, so be sure to do it this way when making your lantern, so now we can work on decorating the lantern. We want to take one of those silver bowls. Now notice that the top edge has a curve to it and will create a gap when applied to a flat surface and to even this out we're going to take a sheet of sandpaper and we want to sand the top of a bowl in a circular motion until it's smooth. pleasant. and level, so I'm going to take the top of my flashlight and the lid of my box and I'm going to center it right on the top and then I'm just going to trace that shape on the top of my flashlight, now just take that gun of hot glue and we want to run a bead of hot glue along that line and then just place the box lid right on top of it to secure that seam, what we want to do is run an even bead of hot glue along the edge of that seam now this will also act as a seam which would look like a weld so we want to make this as clean as possible so now take yourbowl and trace the shape of the bowls on the top of the box, then add glue around that trace. area and then apply your bowl in place and then don't forget to add that clean bead of glue around that seam, now go ahead and grab the shower curtain ring and the napkin ring you want to cut the closure part of the shower curtain from. the shower now. this will be placed on the sides of the napkin ring so we want to apply a dot of glue to each side of that napkin ring and then add the shower curtain ring in place now once it's placed in place continue and add a little more glue to make the connection nice and secure now once it dries we can apply this to the top of the container now to prevent the glue from making a mess just apply a generous amount of glue to the inside of the napkin ring and then quickly place it on top of the bowl allowing the warm glue to drip onto the inside of the bowl and then just add a few more tight squeezes inside the napkin ring to secure everything in place and now our assembly is complete and we can get ready to prepare our piece now .
I'm going to use the zenser primer now it provides great coverage and dries super fast and here is my piece all primed and dried and now here I'm just going to check for imperfections and once I check that I can move on to the final painting. Now I'm going to finish this piece off with some Krylon matte black spray paint and I want to apply a couple of coats letting them dry about half an hour between coats and here are our pieces all painted now to finish the look. I'm going to cover the bottom and just I'm going to use this piece of black foam sheet.
I'm just going to apply glue around the bottom of the lantern and once applied, I'm just going to place that lantern on that foam sheet and then you want to take your cutting mat and your Exacta knife and just trim off all the excess and now that is done, we can start assembling our lantern. Now we're going to put those four stakes into the inside of the top of the lantern, now this should be a tight fit, so you just want to gently squeeze those stakes so they fit into the top. Now you can press the top all the way down until it touches the image frame or you can simply align it. with the bottom border row of blocks like I did here and now, all you have to do is decorate your lantern and here it is, I added some decoration elements and a couple of battery operated candles and I love it, I love it, I love how this really turned out. it turned out so beautiful in the classic black and it really looks high end and it really looks beautiful in white also dollar tree towers block pack we'll need about half a dollar tree foam board and you.
You will need a variety of these free sheet prints and the link will be in the description box below, so we will start by making the frames with the blocks. Now you can certainly use a basic dollar tree frame for these if you want, but I'm doing this because it's so easy and I can use items I already have on hand, so each frame will need 18 pieces, with two four-piece sides. and two sides of five pieces. Now you want to make sure you use something with a straight edge when adhering and these strips together so you're going to assemble the two four piece strips and then you're going to assemble the two five piece strips and these are the pieces for a frame so now it's time to assemble the pieces. for the other frame, now that all of our pieces are assembled, we can put our frames together, so we're just going to use our ruler and we're going to hot glue all of those ends together as shown here and here's our first frame and repeat this for the second one frame and both pieces are already made so now we can take a piece of that foam board and we want to place the frames on top of it and then what I want to do is trace both frames onto the foam board with a pencil and then I'm going to cut both pieces using a ruler and an framing, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to trace the outline of that foam board on the face of each print and once both outlines are traced, I'm just going to cut them out with scissors and now we can adhere those prints to the foam board and just I will use hot glue to make this and these.
They're ready to go so now that our frames are nice and dry they can be painted so I'm going to use this black acrylic paint to paint the front, inside and outside of both frames and once they're dry we're just going to flip. them so we can apply our plant print to the frames. I'm just going to apply a dot of hot glue to the back of the frame and then I want to press that foam board print into the center of both pieces now to hang our pieces what I want to do is just apply a piece of jute twine on the back of each piece.
Now all I'm going to do is fold it in half and then I'm going to To apply a little bit of hot glue to each of the tails, now you'll probably want to double check to make sure each print is facing up and now we can hang them and Add them to our decoration. I love the details on these now. There is something about the black and white prints that really look high end and definitely make a statement now for this project we are going to start with one of the 72 count packs of dollar tree blocks now if you want to dye the blocks , I recommend you do that now and let them dry before assembling your wagon, so go ahead and open up all your blocks if you want to keep it natural.
That would be great too. Now go ahead and take two of the straight edges and we'll need this to go ahead and line up our blocks nice and even as we assemble them and how we're going to assemble them is into two sets of blocks so what we're going to do is use our hot glue and I'm I'm going to use this safe binder wood stick hot glue, it's much stronger than regular hot glue and I highly recommend it so go ahead and start attaching two of the blocks together and now we want to adhere them together. from one side to another. each of the long sides of the car will have eight of these two sets of blocks, so go ahead and prepare eight of them, so now we're going to start assembling one of the long sides of the car, so go ahead and grab one of your two sets of blocks and then we're going to take one of the loose blocks, go ahead and apply those loose blocks to the two piece set at the bottom forming an L shape, then take another one of the loose blocks and place it. and we hot glue it on the other side, then we're going to take another one of those blocks and we're going to adhere it right between where the top and bottom block meet and then we can take another one of those two piece sets and put it on the other one end and this is what our picket shape will look like, so we're going to take a couple more blocks, one on the bottom, one on the middle seam and another set of two blocks, and we'll continue this until we use six of those sets of two piece blocks, now we need to have two open ends and apply the remaining two sets, so we're going to apply them, but we're going to place them on the non-flat side like we did before and we're just going to apply a little bit of that hot glue at the end of our fence and apply that last block sideways and then we want to apply the other end of that fence piece also sideways and now we have one of the long sections. complete, so now what we want to do is create another one of those long sections in exactly the same way, so we'll set them aside and create the final two pieces.
Now all we're going to do To do this is have two blocks in the middle and two blocks on each side as shown here and this is what one of the final pieces will look like and we want to make another one so we have a set of two , so now What I want to do is add some extra security to the block, so I'm going to use some of these dollar tree craft sticks, they fit perfectly on the blocks where you can't see them from the good side, so just apply a little. of that hot glue to that craft stick and you want to place it where it crosses two of the seams and this will add extra reinforcement to the inside of our car so you want to apply them along the seams on the inside and make sure to use six craft sticks on the inside of each of those rails as shown here and you also want to add two craft sticks to the side pieces and once all the pieces are applied this should look nice and secure so now we can start building our basket part of our wagon so I'm just going to apply some hot glue to the end of the short piece and I'm going to apply it right on the end of that side piece on each end of one of the long rails now once .
If you repeat this on the other side, we should have three sides complete and adhered, so now all we have to do is place the other long side right on top, so go ahead and apply some hot glue to all four pieces of the extremes that are in front of you. and place the last rail right on top of it, we want to press it firmly and now we have our complete wagon basket. Now you can apply some hot glue to the inside seams if you like for reinforcement. It's all up to you, so now I go. to put that aside and let's form the base now you can use three of these square sides of the dollar tree, these usually come out for each season and three of them fit perfectly on the bottom of the cart right now. the stores have the St.
Patrick's Day squares that fit perfectly or you can use whatever season you have on hand now I'm just going to use some leftover wood and have four pieces of 1x2 glued together cut to the size of the bottom to use and I'm just reusing these or you can use the squares if you want now to adhere them. I'm turning the basket upside down where all the ends are facing me. Now let's work quickly here, making sure. your hot glue gun is at a high temperature and we want to quickly apply some glue to each of those ends that will be applied to your bottom board now once it's all applied give it a quick flip and make sure it's lined up with the base and press it firmly into place and now our basket is here all the way to the base, so now we're going to work on the handle of our cart and I'm going to use some of these dollar tree dowels, which are thinner than the ones from Walmart. so I'm going to use a dowel this size for the handle and a dowel this size, which is a little larger, that I bought at Walmart for about 50 cents for the main handle, so I cut a little piece off the smaller dowel from the dollar tree for that. top handle as shown here and then I will use two additional rattle blocks on the bottom to sandwich the larger peg in the middle to make sure it stays in place and will also allow it to be functional, now being functional is totally optional.
I can hot glue them in place, but I wanted mine to move so I'll show you how, so the first thing we're going to do is apply a little bit of that hot glue to the top and press that little handle piece . right on top and then I'm going to place a piece of scrap wood and I'm going to place one of my rattle blocks, resting it on the other end as well and I'll have a little piece of dowel just to level the other rattle block right on top, so I'm going to sandwich this between them, put a little bit of hot glue on one of those rattle blocks, press the dowel on top and then add another little bit of hot glue.
Glue, press and sandwich that dowel right in the middle, you want to make sure it's nice and even, and then I'm going to take one of these nails. This is just a small nail that I use to hang things on the wall I think. I bought them from Dollar Tree in a small package and you just need to carefully hammer them through the rattle block through the dowel on the other end. You want to make sure there are scraps of wood at the bottom so you don't nail them into your work table and here it's all sandwiched together so now that the nail has gone through all three layers you'll see that the handle is movable and you can use it as one piece functional and then for the small piece that sticks out.
I'm just going to trim it with wire cutters and put a little bit of hot glue on the end so it's not so sharp, so I originally planned on painting my wagon black, so I was going to use this acrylic paint or this matte black. spray paint, but of course I always change my mind during the process, so I said I wanted a white van, so what I did was I went ahead and primed it with some of this sensor123, which is a good covering agent bold and helps cover all the imperfections, so, forOf course, I changed my mind again and said I want a wood grain, so I'm going to use this Waverly Antique Wax to create my wood grain, as I mentioned before at the beginning of this tutorial.
Please stay on your pieces before you start in case you change your mind like me, but this ended up turning out great just so you know I love working with this Waverly Antique Wax and all you have to do is apply a good coat and The bristles of the brush actually create a beautiful wood texture, so I'll start with one side going to the inside and outside of all the edges and pieces and then complete the process by covering the entire inner basket and bottom of the brush. wagon and this actually looks really nice so you just want to make sure you sit it on the side so it can dry completely so while that's drying we're going to paint our handle so I'm going to use a little bit of this black acrylic paint and I'm going to using my brush, I want to make sure it's nice and covered with one or two really good coats and then for the bottom part, you can remove the spacer that you had there and then paint the inside of those rattle blocks as well.
Some of this won't show, but it's good to be safe in the long run, once it's all covered, go ahead and set it aside to dry completely. Now I also have this three-piece cube set that I bought from the dollar tree. and I want to have these in a different color, so I'm going to use them for the inside of my wagon now, before I paint the color, I'm going to prime it with white and this is just going to create a bonding layer for my final color now. Now that they are primed and ready to use, I'm going to use this hammered metal look spray paint to give them a nice metallic metal look, so while that dries, your basket should be ready to use.
I've let it dry for a few hours, so I'm going to turn it over and I'm going to add that handle, so all I want to do is take that part of the rattle block and I'm going to center it to the right. on the bottom of my basket now, once it's centered right on the bottom of the base, we're going to apply a couple dots of that wood glue, hot glue on the bottom and center it, press it into place now it should stick pretty good quick, but once you just get the original set, go ahead and apply a generous amount of that hot wood glue around the base and in the meantime we won't screw this in, but the hot glue should work great and keep it nice and stuck to the bottom of your wagon, so now we're going to put this aside and work on our wheels, so for our wheels I'm going to use these little motorcycles that I bought from the Dollar Tree in the toy section, so they're pretty easy to break down and I'm going to break the wheels off of both motorcycles, so now I'm going to determine where I want them and they're pretty easy. to place them, so I'm going to place them at the bottom of the wagon, near the front and near the bottom, and this looks like a good place to me, so once I get the location, I'm just going to take my little one. poker tool that I got from the dollar tree and I'm just going to make a little hole where the wheel lines up to mark the location and then I'm going to go in with my drill and I'm just going to drill a little hole.
For some screws now you don't really need pilot holes since we'll be using short screws, but I like to err on the side of safety in this era and I'm going to use some of these three quarter inch wood screws to apply my wheels to, so what I'm going to do To do is put one of those wood screws in the middle of the wheel and just screw it in so it's nice and flush with the wheel, then put the pointed end of the screw in the pilot hole and screw it in. now I'm leaving it a little loose for my wheels to spin, but you can screw it all the way in place and leave them stationary or you can hot glue them in place if you want and then I'm going to flip it over and repeat this for the other side and now the four wheels are attached to our cart and they are rolling they look great now to hide the screw I'm just going to go in with a little bit of this black acrylic paint take a little paint brush and just dab it right above the head of the screw on each side and here are all our screws covered and the wheels look great so now you can go ahead and put this aside because our hubs are now done and look I love this hammered finish on them it looks really cool now to fill them, I'm just going to use some wildflowers that I got from the dollar tree and I'm going to take them and fold them. half to fit inside the cubes.
Now you can cut them to fit and maybe put some floral foam in there, but I always reuse my flowers so I want to keep that long stem in case I have another project for them. So I'm going to take those bent stem flowers and glue them inside the cubes and now you can take your cart and you can put your flower cubes inside, they will fit perfectly and now you are ready to display your piece. and here is the cart decorated with our pots and our wild flowers. I think it turned out so adorable. Now to make two of these we will need three packs of these dollar tree tower blocks and we will need some crafting. sticks, you can get them at Dollar Tree and Walmart.
Now we're going to start by laying down the Sherbonder silicone mat and grabbing those falling tower blocks. Now I went ahead and stained all my blocks first with my Jacobian wax dye and here they are. All of my blocks were stained and I didn't stain the ends to make sure they would stick together better, so I'm going to grab my straight edges, which are this carpenter's square and a piece of wood stick for my straight edges. today i will also be attaching them with my surebonder high temp glue gun and using sheerbounder wood stick glue sticks.
Now the first set we're going to glue together, we're going to glue together 10 sets of two pieces of blocks now we're going to start by gluing them end to end and we're just going to press them together. Now, any glue that oozes between the seams we want to clean up immediately to get a nice clean finish. We're just going to repeat this process until we have our 10 sets and then we can set them aside, so in the next step we're going to glue six sets of three piece blocks, so again we're going to glue these ends together making sure to remove the glue and we want to make sure it's nice and straight and then we'll repeat the process until you have all six pieces.
Next, we are going to glue together four sets of seven pieces. I'm going to continue gluing these ends, but you want to make sure it's straight, so what I'm doing is turning the set of blocks over as I'm gluing them. Now what this does is ensure that everything comes out. nice and even and your stick doesn't bend and here's our nice set of seven straight blocks and then we're going to repeat this until we have four sets, our final set will be four pieces of nine blocks and we're going to do this just like we made for our seven-piece set, so once you're done, you'll end up with four of the nine-piece block sets.
You will have four of the seven-piece block sets we are going to make. have six of those three piece block sets and ten of those two piece block sets now, if you don't want to work with the blocks you can use a similar item and there are these 36 inch square pegs from Lowe's that are now a dollar sixty. eight per piece and you will need five pieces for a total of eight dollars and forty cents for each square. It's now only a dollar fifty per frame using the blocks, so using the blocks turns out to be a better deal now if you'd rather use the pegs.
I've provided all the length cuts you'll need to make this project in the description box below, so now I'm just going to lay out my slatted mat and grab my carpenter's square. Now we're going to start assembling our pieces and we're going to take one of those three block pieces and two of the two block pieces and then we're going to add a two block piece to the bottom so it looks like one of those goals. of football, so go ahead. and take your ruler, place the three piece block and we're going to adhere one of those two blocks to each end of that three piece block.
Now again, when you adhere them, you want to make sure it's straight against that edge and you're done. go ahead and wipe off the glue as you put them together and this is what it looks like so far, so once you have that piece, we'll take the last two blocks and place them right in the center of those three. block the piece as shown here we want to press it firmly into place and clean up the glue and this is what it will look like so now just grab a few pieces and make a second one and now we have our two pieces ready to go so now Just we're going to grab four of those three blocks and we're going to make a square, so we're just going to apply glue to the end of one of the three blocks and put it on the end of the other piece and then we're just going to rotate it and add another one now, once that we have those three pieces together, we'll just add that bottom end and we just want to make sure that the three block pieces are Sandwiched between the two, the other two three black pieces on each end to form this square.
Now that we have our square, we will take four of the two block pieces and place it on the center block. each side of that square piece, now using your ruler and your grid mat together, go ahead and line up the center of each of those blocks, press it into place with a little bit of that glue and then we'll just rotate that square piece. around until all the corners and all the sides have the two piece blocks in place and now this piece is ready to go so now we're ready to put the whole frame together.
Go ahead and grab one of your seven sets of blocks and two of your nine sets of blocks now your nine sets of blocks will be on the outside of the frame and all seven sets of blocks will be in the center of the frame let's grab one of our pieces football gold and we're going to center it right on that set of seven blocks where two of the blocks are on each end and that's how you have a good idea of where the center is. You want to go ahead and add a little bit of that hot wood glue to each end and press it firmly into place so Once that's nice and adhered, we're going to take one of those nine block pieces and add it to that top edge to form the corner of our frame, just add a generous amount of that hot wood glue there and press it down. firmly in place making sure it's nice and level with the edge now, once it's in place we'll just add another one of those nine blocks and place it on the bottom edge.
Now we're going to take another seven block and we're going to place it right in the center between those two nine block pieces to form the top of our frame. We'll simply add some hot glue to the bottom of our little soccer ball, go to the gold side and the two ends to attach it. to the frame securely and this is how it looks so far, so now we're going to add our square piece that we made and we're going to place it right in the center between the frame and we just want to line up the ends perfectly. so you can see the lines lined up with the end of our soccer goal and the edges of the frame and we're just going to apply a little bit of that hot wood glue to each of the ends that come into contact with the frame and we're going to press it firmly instead doing Sure everything is fine and secure, now everything lines up nicely and yet now we're going to put that aside and take one of our seven sets of blocks and our other little piece of football gold and we're going to apply the ending. of that soccer gold please, right in the center of that seven piece set, now at the other end of our soccer goal, we're going to take our last seven piece set and we're going to center it at the top like this as we did in the other.
At the end just apply a little bit of that hot wood glue in place and press it in there now once it's nice and secure we can put all the pieces together we're just going to take the end of our square piece that we just put in there . and put our gold football piece in there make sure they're nice and even and aligned and apply a generous amount of hot glue right on that connection now once that's dry go ahead and turn it over and we'll just make sure that all the glue that leaked through is nice and clean and removed so now for the top and bottom edges we're going to take our last piece of nine blocks on the top and bottom and you'll notice that it's a little bit longer so what What I'm going to do is mark the cut line so it fits right and even with the top, I did this last on purpose because I knew these pieces can be a little off so I wanted to make sure this piece had a long piece to work with, so when we cut it we wouldn't have to worry about cutting a very small piece, so I went to my saw, cut those little pieces off and now they fit perfectly intoplace so if everything looks good Go ahead and apply some of that hot glue on the ends where the last part will be applied, that last piece will be applied in place and press firmly there and once the top piece is done , we'll repeat this for the bottom piece and Now our frame is fully assembled, it was very easy, so you notice there's some glue there and what we're going to do is go in and remove some of that glue. it oozes out and that can be seen on the piece, so what we're going to do now is turn it over with the good side down and we're going to reinforce our frame, so to do this I'm going to use these

crafts

. sticks, so what I'm going to do is take my craft sticks and my wire cutters and I'm going to start adhering them to the frame.
Now, how am I going to do this. To trim those craft sticks down to where each end of the craft sticks overlaps the seams and actually ends up in the middle of one of the blocks because we don't want the seams to line up with the seams of the blocks, we want that are solid. piece of the craft stick to overlap those seams and this will create a really nice reinforcement on our piece, so I'm just going to apply that wood glue to that craft stick on each piece that I cut out and I just want to apply this all over.
The entire back of the frame and here is the entire back of the frame completely covered. Remember to use a generous amount of that hot wood glue, it really firms up nicely and makes this frame nice and solid as you can see. I also don't see any of the craft sticks on the other side, now don't throw those bits away, we're going to take those bits and just add them into any of the weak spots that can usually appear around. where that little gold football piece is, we're just going to add them randomly around the back of the frame, right where you think it needs a little more reinforcement and I'm going to use them until they're all applied, so now I'm just going to do my last cleanup of any glue that may be showing up so the front is nice and clean and then I'm going to take my dollar tree broom and hot glue all the nets together now that I've dyed them with the dye I left. the bare ends so at this point you can go in and take the dye and put a little dab on each of those exposed ends if you want and now that you're a pro you can go ahead and do one or two or three more.
If you like it now, adding a backing to this is actually super easy. I just took a piece of dollar tree cardstock cut it to size and then taped it on then just placed the frame right on top and you can use a permanent or temporary adhesive of your choice and I think this really gives it a look sophisticated and check it out with white cardstock now. I love this too. Now, if you choose to use a foam board or solid wood backing, you can skip it. Step by step with craft sticks and here is my final project on display, guys I am very impressed with how they turned out.
