What I'm thankful for is that the buildings have been closed, the

church

has been busy and that's a good thing. also because the devil sure has been busy but the

We need all the space available, like Peter, we want to get into your boat and Jesus wants to know. Can I use your space? Can I use your boat? Can I use your influence? Can I use your voice? He inhabits the praises of his people. This is my church and I am very grateful. I've really been wondering about you guys. Go ahead and sit down. We need to make the transition. We need to make the transition. transition and I was telling you today that it is like all week and really for weeks it has been so heavy on people's hearts that today the Lord gave me the task that he wanted to lighten their burden and I told everyone who is in This room with me, whether you're handling a camera or playing an electric guitar, whether you're playing a Fender Stratocaster or working behind a switchboard, I came out and told them to have their coffee because today we want to be used by God to lift those burdens that I have felt sad and been worried about you.

I know you're not supposed to worry. Matthew Six Bub says: Don't worry. Well, I have been. I've been worried. I've been worried about you because normally I can see. More of you and I can see how everything is going and I can stand here and this is so strange I can't see you at all so I don't really know how you are, you were singing, this is holy ground. but you have some holy sweatpants on and you haven't changed them in four days and right now you have an ulcer from all the different emotions you've been feeling and I've been I've been checking out the people I love, how are you?

And you know, before this quarantine started. I remember that a few years ago I went through a season in which I was surprised that everyone responded to the question: How are you? Some people think you really want to know when you ask them how you are and start coming back for the last three months to catch up. Most people will just say something polite. I'm fine, I'm fine, whatever and then. some people will say I realized this a few years ago, they'll say I'm busy, I'm busy, remember when everyone was busy, I'm busy, busy man, and then the other thing you'd get from people, I'm

tired

.

I'm

tired

and I realized a few years ago that this was long before the coronavirus people said I'm tired, I'm busy and I thought the two were connected, but then a few months ago everyone's schedule cleared up, our administrative assistant celestial decided that everyone needed to stay home indefinitely and people weren't hanging out with their kids as much anymore or if they did, they were just driving them around and the kids never got out of the car and so many things closed, so many work responsibilities They were suspended. and I still kept asking people how are you and they no longer said busy but they still said tired and that got me thinking because in the last week or two it has been exacerbated even more for good reason for everyone. talking to how are you?
I'm tired I'm tired I called Pastor John Gray on Monday, we sat on this stage and he shared powerfully, powerfully, dynamically and precisely about some of the things that have been happening in our nation for centuries. which some people are just realizing and I wanted to call it Monday because we both knew that sharing that conversation was what God wanted us to do but we didn't know how it would be received because we were talking about topics that were sometimes repressed and our family's response from the church was incredible. Oh, I just want to thank you for being that kind of church that is not afraid to shine the light of Jesus Christ in a real way, not just in a cute way but in a relevant way. to what really is our national god, I can't look at a brother in Jesus Christ drowning in the street and look away because he doesn't look like me and, as John shared, I realized that it was heavy for him and and I called him On Monday I told him how are you the sermon was already going around the world I said the sermon is going around the world we are hearing from all over the world God is used in what you said on that platform with courage everything in the whole world thank you like you feel said I'll tell you what I'm grateful but I'm tired he said after preaching here and sharing on this platform it felt like I'd been in a physical fight he said My body felt like I'd been in a physical fight like in a fight in the cage and when we started I made a joke that we were like a team and then he went home and physically felt the symptoms as if it had been a physical fight. fight he said I'm tired and I said it's not that crazy all we did was sit there and talk for 45 minutes but I realized that what we talked about for 45 minutes was something my brother had been fighting for for 46 years.
You can turn off the news, you can't turn off injustice. I guess he was tired. I mean, he thought he had fought demons that existed before he was even born. He said I'm tired and not just him. I asked a guy who works at the bank. Who is working from home? I said: Has it been good working from home? By the way, I'll open the Bible in a minute. I promise you that I sent you so many Scriptures this morning. I think they got tired just looking at my scripture list and I'm going to preach to you so don't go anywhere, but it was so many different people that in the last few weeks they weren't saying busy, they were saying tired and it wasn't necessarily because of a lawsuit physical. because I asked this banker I told him how are you he said I'm tired I told him but you don't have to travel earlier to have an hour's commute you would drive one hour to work and one hour home now you have two extra hours he said yes but I don't have any separation between my office and my children.
I used to be able to leave them for nine hours and now I can't. I can't exclude one thing. I used to be able to compartmentalize. "I used to like driving to work because it was the only time I knew I could have to myself and I listened to you preach all the way to work and now I can't do that anymore because they've moved my meetings and they're eating Margie," he said, man honestly. I don't know I should be grateful I have a job and I know there are people who have it worse but I'm honestly tired and then I was talking to a mom whose kids I think they're all between two and five and there's three so your planning was a little bit interesting but it's too late to go back and fix that because now she has three and one has special needs and normally they have someone to help with the child with special needs but that person hasn't been able to come because of the virus she said I'm grateful because my children are healthy but I'm tired I'm tired by the way if you're a little slow my message is called I'm tired so could you put it in the chat I'm tired I chose that title on Thursday I'll never choose my titles on Thursday again I chose my title I'm tired on Thursday because I heard and felt this from many of the people I care about and then every night I woke up at 3am. m., so I guess the Lord wanted me to live out my message next week.
Call it a hundred million dollars and see what happens. I'm going to name an eight pack and see if my abs start with my name and make out with my wife next week. Hawaii. I'm a preacher message called Hawaii next week, but it was just. In the process of developing this message, the Lord led me to a scripture in John chapter 4, I am tired, but really this message is not about that physical tiredness, it is like my mother told me the other day, she said, I spoke to myself. so much so that it's getting boring because honestly it's been a very difficult time for her to be alone trying to stay protected but then how do you protect your health and protect your sanity?
My dad went to heaven in 2013, it was seven years since My dad went to heaven last week and he said the problem with talking to myself is that we keep finishing each other's sentences. We know what we are going to say before we say it. I'm tired of talking to myself. I'm tired of being. I'm just tired I'm tired I'm tired but it's not bags under my eyes it's not about gas in my car I've heard a lot of people I

pastor

say and I'm tired inside maybe that's a better title we'll call it officially we'll call it I'm tired for inside go with me to John chapter 4 all of you who are weak and burdened come with me to John chapter 4 and let's listen to a conversation I've been in I've been talking with this text this week and what the Lord showed me was something I thought who had mastery of this text John chapter 4, you know, I've heard so many sermons on John by now, some of you who grew up going to Wednesday Night Bible Study, you quickly click on another preacher now because you wonder what might be in there.
John 4. I promise you this that God showed me in John chapter 4 and again I thought you know I know this text. about the Samaritan woman the woman at the well we call her illiterate kind Read the woman at the well the woman who had had five husbands and the number six was not her husband I once called her the thirsty woman because anyway it has different meanings depending on how you interpret it culturally and I talked about this woman at Easter. I've talked about this woman on New Year's and residual New Year's resolution, but I saw this while thinking about how you really are inside, how you are.
How are you? How are you? How is your interior? I went to this text and stayed with it and saw something I had never seen before. I'll read you enough to give you context and then I'll get more context and then I'll give you a little more context and then you can eat a sandwich. I mean even looking across this room I can see that everyone is trying so hard to pay attention but honestly it's like it's a lot right now and I want to show you something that spoke to my soul God I ask you to energize his spirit with this word now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John although in reality it was not Jesus who baptized but his disciples, so he left Judea and returned once again to Galilee.
I always skip that little introduction because I wanted to start the text here in verse 4, where Jesus passed through Samaria, but going back in verses 1 to 3 of the sea was interesting to me because I noticed that Jesus refused to be controlled by the agendas of others and that thing really started preaching to me because in Jesus' day sometimes they had these different controversies and they had politics, it was very different in biblical times than it is today some people had. who supported this leader and some people who supported that leader and then there were the Pharisees who were trying to keep their power and to keep their power they didn't care what they had to say, they didn't care who they had to say to. trample they didn't care who they had to hurt they didn't care what lost nation they had to scatter so when the prophet of Galilee started doing miracles he was born in Bethlehem he grew up in Nazareth they did their miracles in Galilee when he started baptizing people and started earning popularity.
He represented a threat to the religious establishment that had become so political that they had lost the father's heart in the quest to build the kingdom of their own ideologies. I'm just wondering if the Bible is still relevant. The Bible is still eternal, is it still the Word of God because we are in a time when we could use Jesus much more, much more? Can I preach about Jesus for 30 minutes today? Can I preach about Jesus, not the Jesus we thought? We knew it from 3 little quotes that we carefully selected, but the Jesus who refused to be contained or confined to any ideology or a tea party Can I Preach on Jesus and the more they tried to create this pressure to fit within their system, he It was like I was leaving here that's not what I do, I'm in themy father's business and on Jesus' day they didn't always report the facts in the news on Jesus' day on Jesus' day on Jesus' day everyone in this section Smile at me because you all made me think I'm doing it wrong in G I'm not talking about today.
I'm not talking today. I'm saying that on Jesus' day they were wrong sometimes.Jesus' day on Jesus' day and they said he's baptizing more than John, this guy is getting powerful, we have to stop him and they actually, actually They were wrong, he was not even the one who baptized, no one will do it. baptism many of the things we say God doesn't do them anyway that's not the message it's called the message I'm tired inside you know I'm tired of Not being able to trust any information from anywhere I don't know what to read anymore.
I don't know who to follow anymore. I don't know what to listen to anymore. It's like everyone has an angle. Everyone has an agenda. They said he is baptized in more than John. You better do something. but it was not even he who baptized him, the Bible says that when Jesus found out about this, which in itself is shocking, Jesus learned how Jesus learns, how he who is wisdom learns something well, they bring him the report, they tell him than that. the Pharisees are starting to get very, very nervous about what he represents and so he says, come on and verse four says something else that is really shocking, okay, remember, this is not, this is not the Jesus that you bring out. and you hug, this is not This is not a tender Christ.
I once preached the sermon called Wild Jesus. Okay, this is the Jesus who doesn't take shortcuts and doesn't deal with superficial issues. This is not the Jesus coming to give you gummy bears. Know? It doesn't matter what they're tied with or how legal it is this is not that gummy bear Jesus look at verse 4 it says now he had to go through Samaria he had to go through Samaria I see you nodding under the monitors are standing it's interesting and it's something surprising and catches you off guard. I didn't have to do anything. It was not controlled by anyone.
In fact, the only agenda he was fully committed to was the agenda of his father in heaven. I have felt the Lord asking me over these past few months what agenda you are committed to is Jesus' agenda now Jesus' agenda was not an agenda imposed by outside forces Jesus had to go through Samaria not because Peter told him no because he took a vote and It was the most popular not because his base liked it, in fact, his base hated it Samaria How many sermons have you heard? I mean, you love the word. How many sermons have you heard?
Chatwin on Jesus passing through Samaria and the hated Jews. go through Samaria because although there was no national distinction there was an internal distinction I mean how many sermons have we heard about how the Jews walked twice as far to go around Samaria and one time I was preaching about that and I saw In a funny way, I was halfway in the middle of a thought in the middle of a sentence and the Lord said in some area that we all have in some area in some area that is a complete message there too, isn't it?
Don't we all have an area we try to avoid? Sometimes the reason we are tired is because we are working through everything that God wants to put us through and that is why we have to solve our pain, but the way we solve our pain creates a greater dependency that wears us down in the end. and the beautiful thing about Texas you don't even have to understand this geographically you are experiencing it spiritually we all must pass through some area but for Jesus it was that northern part of the kingdom it was that place where then most of the people would return they would have to cross Transjordan they would have to cross nearby from Jericho they would turn a three day trip into a six day trip just to avoid going through what Jesus walked right in and you know what the Lord said to tell you, he is confrontational, he is confrontational, he is not passive, he is confrontational and I know we have, we have sweet Jesus Ricky Bobby Jesus, a baby Libra Jesus, I like him better that way I can hug him talking about tired my brother had a baby this week his wife had a baby his wife Brooke had a baby he had a drink credit and is very excited and when I spoke too much for the first time - how are you? you know what confirmation said in my sermon he said I'm tired I said everyone else is too but you don't know it yet, tired, a male preacher, Steve, don't you know, tired, you're going to be begging for four pre-pre-babies, tired , now you are, you haven't just welcomed a child into the world, you've welcomed a dictator into the world. world of your home and now there will no longer be an agenda between you and your wife about meal times or schedules or bedtime you don't know tired you already tell someone you don't even know tired you don't even know tired absolutely man he I had to go through Samaria, an area that other people avoided.
God was direct and although it was the most direct route, He became the road less traveled. Let me stop for a minute because I don't want to get so caught up in my idea that I can't ask you this question. What are you working on in your life that God wants you to walk and how long will you do it that way? It is as if everything in the text goes inward from the outside. Jesus has pressure from the Pharisees but he is not controlled so he is not controlled so he is guided from within that is something really amazing about instability in the world helps us get our center of gravity from God who is within and he He had to go through Samaria not because it was the predictable bath and certainly not because it was the popular bath but because it was the path of his purpose.
I love the word of God and I heard it so many times you know he had to go through Samaria. That's where he went and I heard that there was a woman there, a woman who had been of quite questionable character and he wanted to meet her and he went to look for her and I even heard what it was like, that he walked right by. instead of following the path that most people were familiar with, but you know, I saw this week, I saw something, I read this with me in verse 5, so he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the land The well of his son Joseph Jacob was there and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well.
It was around noon when a Samaritan woman who was there came to draw water. That's what Jesus said to him: will you give it to me? a drink and I love verse 8 in parentheses I thought it was funny when I read it his disciples had gone to town to buy food why is it funny I think he was tired of him I really don't think he was that He was worried that they were hungry. I think he said, "You know, it would be great if you just wanted to run an errand. I have something to do.
Sometimes you have to fire people. Sometimes you have to say, Hey, I'm working on this. Right now I really appreciate you and love and I'll see you when you come back to us grilled chicken nuggets and those fries look the gospel of John is different from the other gospels can I show you Jesus from the gospel of John in the gospel of John Gospel, we're seeing that Jesus He is completely God, He is completely gone, He is the answer to the call that began in the bush where Moses was generations ago Jesus is not a newcomer Jesus is not a Savior who flies by Jesus is not a pop star or a flash in the pan the frying pan that's why it wasn't driven by popularity because it wasn't, it wasn't an instant value Jesus came through 41 generations from Abraham to David from David to the exile From the exile to Jesus it was 41 generations God found a man accustomed to man found a man accustomed to man but men kept messing it up so God finally said I'm tired I'm tired I'm tired of you trying to get to me How about I come to you so that the word became flesh and dwelt among us , that's John 1:14 and we saw the fullness of his glory and John sets out to show us a glimpse of who Jesus is.
I wonder, do you know who Jesus is? Isn't that who someone told you Sunday was? School in 1978 not who we want him to be not the one who has the same melatonin as you not the one who votes the same as you not the one who only cares about what matters to you I wonder why he is the big me I mean, John prepares him for that you can't miss it even if you want to, because this is what it does, please sit down, I know you're tired, you're tired, I don't want you standing. You're tired, you're tired, so sit down, listen to this, okay, let me sit down, demand, okay, okay, I'll sit down for a minute, I'll sit at home and I'll tell you how it goes in the Gospel of John, it says. that in the beginning was a word in his peace with God The Word was God and he says that all things were made through him before then Jesus has been busy Jesus has been busy Jesus has been busy Jesus did not minister for 33 years the word that was with God in the beginning became flesh and we contemplate it he did not begin when he appeared, you know it is the same way in your life God spoke to you on this earth at the time he wanted, come on yes all of you' Uncle , help get out of here, I'm telling you that God put you where he wanted and some of the battles you're fighting started long before you got here.
That's part of why you're tired. Some things we fight are generational. When John describes Jesus Matthew gives you the genealogy, but he does it through people. John starts long before that and says that in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God in the Word was God and if you go to the end In the back of the Gospel of John it says that these things were written about Jesus so you can know and believe and have life in his name, but he says something crazy, he says these are just some of the things he did, it's just that I just gave you what you could handle I just want to give you an idea of who he is by showing you what what he did in the Gospel of John there are seven signs that the author mentions that Jesus did is not everything he did it is not everything someone says it is not everything it is not everything oh I felt it but I thought the Holy Spirit in that he put it put it in the chat right now it's not all it's not all I know about God it's not all there is about God what I believe is true that's not all that's true what I've experienced so far in my life is not what I I have to conform what I have known doesn't have to be my normal forever it's not everything but he said: I'm going to give you a glimpse of what made it so you can see who it is these are called the seven signs in John the seven signs began in Cana of Galilee when He turned water into wine I call this a molecular miracle a molecular miracle um it seems like a little but it shows you who He is how many have had God show them who He is in little waves that's called a molecular miracle .
Well, he can't stay there forever, so he has to go and preach in Judea. In John chapter four, he heals a royal official son. that is the second sign and then in John chapter five he walks next to a pond so as not to relax, but it was a pond where many lame and disabled people used to lie and he talks to a man on a mat and lifts him up from his mat because the man was waiting for the water to move, but Jesus had the water inside him that the man was trying to get to outside and he showed that he is bigger than any earthly system and that he can bring you what others did not give you. bring him to you and he can do for you what no one can do for you.
That's the third side. When you get to John 6, you'll be walking into some of the most well-known miracles when he, when he did it, multiplied those roasts. nuggets I was talking about, come on, I've been up a long time, I'm hungry and those fries and it multiplied to feed 20,000 I thought it was 5:00 someone just said you didn't count women and children. the people you don't even count, God works through the people you don't even know, this God works through the people you don't even think are worth including in the total, so that's the fourth sign when you get there?
Where am I Adam? In the fourth sign What is the fifth sign? Oh, maybe the fifth sign is that the man who was born blind opened his eyes and it ruined his life because when he opened his eyes there are certain things that once God shows you, you can do it. I can't stop seeing them anymore, it ruined the whole funeral of Lazarus, they didn't even have a chance to really start the funeral, they didn't even have a chance to cry and here he came with a miracle now several of these signs were connected to a statement John too give seven statements you feel like you're in those are you tired of me preaching but I'm not tired of this?
I could do this all day something comes alive in me when I start preaching it's the strangest thing that happens No matter how tired I am God gives me some kind of strength It must be for you You must have been on edge this week You must be burning up but God I wanted to get you some oil so you don't do it. You don't die before you realize the purpose for which He brought you into this world to begin with, in the beginning was the word, the Word was with God, the Word was God, the great, I am, so Jesus said some things, she said, I am, do you know any? from them the bread of life, she said that right after feeding all those people, she wasn't just trying to feed his stomach, she was trying to inform hisspirits, said, um, I am the light of the world, said, uh, I am the door. for the Sheep he said I am the Good Shepherd even in the valley I will guide you I will be your life I am the life I am the door I am the Good Shepherd I am the resurrection and the life I am the way the truth and the life uh, I am the true vine, the better seven, John is showing us this number of completion, the better seven, that is God's number, seven, six, the number of man, that is why we are tired, because we live in six, Jesus is the seventh man, the seventh man.
And then what I want to show you in this text, if you let me show you this, it will bring a feeling in your soul of something that you know, I know you're stressed and I know there's a lot to worry about in the world, man, I got mad a lot this week and I know you're not supposed to get mad, but the same Jesus who petted the little sheep overturned the tables in the temple when they were I didn't do it for the right purpose and there was a guy on my Instagram this week and he saw us John and I talking about racism and evil and atrocity and really the fact that if the church is silent on these issues, People Care it's like we want to dismantle the cross it's like we only like this part we don't want to let Jesus inform how we treat others we just want him to do things for us and I don't check all the comments on Instagram or YouTube, but one person said, "I'm tired," he said, to be honest, I'm tired of all the

pastor

s that I keep posting about racism on my feet.
Can't we just go back to preaching Jesus, who did you go? Sunday school with or the one who passed through Samaria with Jesus let's go now I just need an answer to which Jesus do we worship which one the one who said I am the path you follow or the one you guide the one you said no, I do not follow you beyond the fact that he had to go through Samaria and look at what he did when he sat down what he did when he sat down in verse 6 he said he sat down he sat down tired as he was, which is confusing because Isaiah 40 is a great scripture, you can't call the word god drug, but I just did it here in American English, I put every syllable and it says Isaiah 40 the Prophet.
He said why are you complaining Jacob I say Israel my way is hidden from the Lord my cause I despise my god this part you don't know haven't you heard? The Lord is the eternal God the creator of the ends of the earth he will not grow tired or weary and his understanding no one can understand him he will not get tired and in the beginning was the word the Word was with God so this left me astonished John chapter 4 verse 6 Tired Jesus I prayed for this message please know I did it because There are so many things I can't do right now and I feel bad about it and I wish I could do more and this church is doing everything it can to be part of the solution but There are so many things I can't do and I know you've been tired and I know you've been hurting and I know it's been a lifetime and it might not be racism, it might be an addiction, it might be you wondering how much longer you'll have a job. or when you will get it. one or when this will all end or when God will send someone to get you I know you've been tired and I prayed I said God, what do I tell them?
They are tired and what do I tell them? person who is too tired to continue, what do I say to the person who says I am too tired? Gus said I got tired too. Jesus said back in Samaria, that's where he talked to a woman who asked him for water. For that reason, but. why because he was tired because he was fully God, fully man, yes, as much as we like to shout about his divinity, you know how we were a minute ago, when I was preparing you about the degree, I just have to bring you back so you can Could you? know that the same God that created you, that was strong enough, that was powerful enough, everyone thinks Jesus was weak, raise your hand, maybe, maybe, being tired doesn't mean you're weak, Jesus, tired, because I was tired?
I didn't say who was there. He's tired of the fact that we already know it was Peter, come on, Peter Peters fighting with you every step of the way, cursing and stuff in front of the press, having to whistle at Peter, you know, I know he was tired of the Pharisees, he couldn't wash his hands. or not. he washed his hands, they followed him to every bathroom at every dinner, yes I know he was tired of them, but he says he was tired of the trip thinking about Jesus' trip, you know, they walked everywhere no Oberer no Bert Jesus super Christ super Savior three days one from where they were baptizing through Samaria directly was the shortcut, by the way, the direct route sometimes is the divine kingdom instead of hiding the fact that you are tired, you just say god, I hire someone, Someone was yawning during my sermon one time and I just got mad about it.
I told him: how are you tired? You're not doing anything, you know, but then I found out they worked the night shift and came straight to the church. It's a little difficult to understand someone if you only see them for part of the hour. his journey and some people who we think are weak maybe they are tired have you thought about that that just because you are tired does not make you weak how do you know that Jesus I am the light of the world I am the bread of life I am the resurrection I am the door I am the shepherd I am the true vine I am the way sometime six hours after they left that morning at noon he said something we wouldn't expect to hear the Savior say I'm tired This is the Incarnation I worship, but God who is powerful enough to give me strength and that it is human enough to make me tired and for some reason this week I felt that some of us needed to meet Jesus tired.
I thought maybe you could relate to him because his journey didn't really start by just leaving that morning. I mean, six hours that day is enough. Six hours in a day. I mean, I have a six-hour drive with my kids and I'm downloading every episode of The Office on everyone. of their phones just hoping we can make it six hours still be saved still be married still be healed delivered blessed and a happy family and that's a six hour drive because you leave six this noon it's hot it's the heat of the day of course he tired and yet I wondered was it just physical or did he go through Samaria because he was tired of the way they treated each other why was he tired why did he come to abolish the barriers full of grace and truth and we behold his glory his the journey did not It began in Bethlehem and the beginning was the word and the Word was with God in the word Wescoe and the word became flesh which is a long journey from the sapphire seal of heaven to the dusty streets of Samaria of course I was tired even the young people get tired and stumble but those who wait on the Lord I'm waiting on God right now I'm waiting someone says I'm waiting I'm waiting I'm waiting and I'm tired and I'm not going to lie to you I'm tired I mean this this is getting old and some of you guys want to swear right now don't do it in the chat they'll block you but even in your mind you're like I'm sick of this, I'm sick of this, I mean that's not an "it's me" statement that we read in the Bible , but that's what you're saying right now in your heart, I'm, I'm, but I'm sick of this, I'm, I'm sick and tired I'm tired of fighting battles above what's wrong with me Some people say that when they get tired they you start laughing not me when I get tired I mean how many of you when you get tired that's why when they had to pull me out of the elevator in Australia and I was about to fight with that guy after I preached I mean I had just finished to give the invitation to If you are here today, the Lord says come and that only told me something sideways and my uncle taught me how to hit. him with his elbow if you can get close enough and I was raising my elbow and the pieces flew back, he said have you been, I was jet lagged, I've preached twenty-three times in four days, I was being preached to death on Hillsong.
Church, I preach them, I am preaching, preaching, preaching, time and pieces for me. I said, come on, you're too tired right now because when you get too tired you start fighting battles that don't matter to distract yourself from the ones that do matter. That's how I am. I start fighting with everyone. I start fighting with people who are trying to help me when I'm tired, so Jesus said go to lunch. I'm sitting here for a man because the ones the doll has been fighting against are the ones I came to save he had to go through Samaria he had to sit down there was a woman coming who needed him she didn't even know him she had no idea who he was he sat down because he was tired I mean you don't know you have to do anything right now just sit down and receive this word that the son of God got tired the Son of God got tired I know you are Superman and you are angry with yourself because you can't always achieve perfect perfection you have the tired faith does not prevent fatigue it only gives me a place to sit he sat next to a well this is the important thing how well you feel when you are tired he said it was from Jacob Well, you with me son he said it was from Jacob Well, to Joseph He was given that well by Jacob, much of what our children learn comes from us, it is generational.
Jesus sat next to that well. I think it's very appropriate to say right now in our nation what holes you're digging for your kids to sit in next. Much of what we are going through today is due to the wells that were dug before we got here. Jesus sat next to Jacob. Well, wait on the Lord, now we see the Lord waiting for a woman, so I imagined this moment. I chose your menu. I had your coffee and you say I'm drinking all the caffeine I can. I'm still tired and I know you can watch your TED talk about you know when to go to bed and when to wake up and all that.
I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about inner fatigue. I am a doctor of the soul. I don't know anything about REM. I don't know anything about ergodynamic pillows. I said well? I don't know anything about your mattress number. That's not my specialty, but I know sometimes you have to sit by a well and listen to me. Many of the places we sit while tired only dehydrate us more. The places we drink from make us dumber, more fragmented, less hollow, less informed and this woman appears in a photo that appears at noon because she is slipping away from all the people who were talking about her, she is a woman with a past and The last thing you want to see is a man specifically a Jewish man specifically a rabbi and Jesus.
Hey, can I have a drink? This is not a pick up line, this is not a pick up line, this is not a superficial question. Is Jesus asking this woman? Do you even know what's in you? I'm a stand-up now I'm a stand-up now because I hear God say to someone today you don't even know what I put inside you what you've put inside you is so great now if you only see things on the surface , if you judge like people judge, you will never see what is inside, this was Jacob's well, but it was really just something for Jesus to sit on when he sat at the well. and I asked the woman: can I have a drink?
He wasn't talking about water, don't you understand? It's never about what we think, it's always something deeper, so Jesus has shown up in this woman's situation and I can't help but think. it's for someone today that you've been at your wit's end and you thought I was going to give you a little pep talk and you thought I was going to tell you, you know, keep going and trust God and keep going and all this little clay. clichés of faith but I came to tell you sit with him for a little while sit with him for a little while sit with him for a little while sit with him for a little while sit with him and see who you really are sit with him for a little while I have been sitting I am I am going to confess that I have been sitting next to the wrong Wells most of the time.
I have depended on people to inform me about who I am. I've been depending on what I see with my eyes to tell me what it's like. It is but there is a well that does not come from an external source and you cannot see the pipes there is within you a spirit that is greater than everything that happens around you greater is the one that is in me I am trying to shout sitting down so that Know that she sat in the well so that she could see what was inside her. I believe God is revealing some things to us in this season.
I believe that God is revealing to his church in the season that he has made us for a time when the world is so divided when he has made us for a time when the world is so apathetic and sat by the well is that by the well to talk to a woman who had had five husbands and lived with the number six so she could know it was the number seven the first day God worked the second day God worked the third day God worked the fourth day God worked the fifth day God worked on the sixth day God worked what are you doing on the seventh?
He sat down not because he needed to rest but because she needed it and that's what I love about her. God who will not only fight for me and walk with me and talk with me, but God said to tell you this week that he is the man who will get through. forty-one generations and go through Samaria just to sit with you just to sit with you sit with him for a minute he could show you something inside you that no one else noticed this woman had been passed like the pitcher she carried to the well that day she knewwhat it was like to feel yes he sat in the well that day because he was tired or because she was tired of being used by people who try to be manipulated by people sit with me because I am not sitting where you are sitting when I sit with him he has sown me with him in heavenly places far above every roller and principality you say I'm tired of gossiping I'm also piracy how people treat each other - I'm tired of injustice, that's why I came in the form of a man so I can be what the man could never be.
I came to hang on a cross and say it is finished so you can rest. I know we have work to do. we sit for a minute can we just sit with him for a minute by the well that will never run dry? Some of us passed E a long time ago the tank has been empty for a long time so God says I want you to sit with me when you sit with me you will see with me when you sit with me who is it? just raise your hand right now in the room raise your hand on the chair say this is for me I want to sit with him I want to sit next to him the well that has living water I want to sit away from the streams that are poisoned by the prejudices of men I want to sit with him for a minute and Jesus tired as he told his disciples everyone go get some food, I have to get a harvest.
I believe God sent me to preach this message to someone today who is tired inside and not much sleep, not much Netflix and sleepy and not much rhythm. the florist is going to figure it out and I believe God brought you into his presence today for a reason and I believe he woke me up at three or three in the morning tonight last night so he could physically feel me a little bit. while I was preaching this, how you felt before you got here, how Jesus felt, how the woman fell, even the young will grow weary and faint and the young will stumble and fall, but those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength and God said .
Even if you don't have the patience to wait for me, I will wait for you when you are tired. You must be very careful not to become dehydrated. You have to drink this water. You have to drink this word. You have to drink this worship. You have to stay away from the wells that will never quench your thirst and you have to receive the water flowing from within in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the reason you came to church today is God wanted to give you water he knows you are tired he knows you are thirsty he hung it on a cross and said me too I'm thirsty he stretched his arms that wide because he was also tired and the man who was God became man and he who knew no sin became sin so that we could become the righteousness of God and he said to the woman and she told me me and said come to me all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest I am the bread of life I am the resurrection I am the light I am the Shepherd I am the door I am the way I am the vine I am the seventh man I am the seventh man I am the well I am inside you you will never get what you need out there it is here it is here it is here it is here I know you are not in a church building there is no worship leader to tell you put your hands up what you will do anyway I know that there is no feeling that tells you right now that you have hope you can hope anyway that is to say good that springs from within is a well that he meant did not dig is so good that he does not consult external situations is a well of Holy Spirit and of God I said I came here but to sit with you to be with you the proof of his power was not just when he walked on water the proof of his power was when he sat at a well did you hear me better online than they did ? in this room because if you understood that, you understood the entire message, he not only demonstrated it by walking on water, which he did, he demonstrated it by sitting in a well, sometimes he walks on water, sometimes it is water, but I declare that the Lord it is in this place we started this service when I got up to preach saying that the Lord is in this place and not for a minute was I abandoned and you came to this service today saying I'm tired inside I said I know it's okay to be tired, but what?
Why don't you come in and leave that jar that you brought behind you, that jar that represents what you have been carrying and that you should not have carried and receive right now what only I can reveal, father, what did you give me? this word I believe for your people I didn't think about this I didn't study this in a book you spoke to me and told me to go to John 4:6 and I said what to say to people when they are so tired and they are right to be tired and They're tired and they're tired of being tired and they're tired of things not changing and you told me to tell him that I got tired too and you're sitting with me in heaven places so now Lauren we need the water of worship we have received the water of your word today in the beginning it was a word and word with God the Word was God we receive your word today now make it flesh in our lives as we worship you now raise your hands wherever you are this is not a moment to be aware of yourself this is not a time to disconnect this is not a time to be distracted because we need this water in a dry and tired land we need this water Lord we Wait on you we believe that you are in this place whether it is a cross or a empty tomb your presence is proven in both of us we take this moment just to let you know that we know we need you and that you are in this place we may feel abandoned we may feel forgotten we may feel frustrated it's okay you are tired with Jesus but you sit with us in our brokenness you you sit with us in our unbelief you sit with us in our anger you sit with us to show us who we really are begin to minister to the Lord Zeke not for a minute was I abandoned the Lord is in this place living water in this Bread of Life in this place the light of the world is in yes yes yes sit on this piece of the Holy Spirit tribal wake up christian come minister with him in the harmonies sing that about the people let him sit - so tired so exhausted the emotions go crazy the world goes crazy the tension It is so big that we know that we can make a minister to the people oh no for me once to say everything was but I was artists in this place the Lord is in this place thank you lord holy spirit problems gentlemen in this place yes he is what she got four from me was the strength becomes your strength here comes your strength its presentation until it arrives for you right now wait for this, since you needed this, so you needed this moment.
No one, I know, the message is officially over and you're probably tired of hearing me talk. I spent a lot of time today, but I had a lot on my heart and I just want to make sure that you remember that God is with you and that the presence of Christ is within you and I just want to thank you for being a part of this ministry. Holly and I are praying for you. These are really difficult days and there is a lot of work to do for the church in the world to bring the kingdom of God to the earth, but we are committed to this and it is a privilege to be with you to share the word of God with you and to join together. to you to receive the good news of Jesus Christ for the world I love you
