The Truth About My Hair Extensions | @interiordesignerella

Feb 20, 2020
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been here and I want to talk about

extensions

. I'm sharing my top 5 things to keep in mind if you've never had

extensions

before, if you're scared of them, don't be. I'm afraid. I'm going to share this with you so you can be even more prepared. Let's start off right, so I'm over a year into my

hair

extensions and I went in completely blind. I thought I had no idea what to do. As expected, I have a non-natural beaded rose, so on other different types of extensions I can't talk about Enzo tape or clips or anything like that, so I'm just going to talk strictly about row extension with beads so that it is sewn into my

hair

. but I love these because there is no taking them out or trying to put them on when I wake up, they are there and it's amazing and I also feel like they hold my curls much easier than my real hair I had.

I held them so I used to have long hair, I cut it off, I regretted it and then I found extensions and I'm very happy, I love them so after having them for as long as I had them I feel like yeah I'm going to go. continue to receive them, but there were some things that I would like to know beforehand because I know there are some pros and cons. Honestly, speaking of having extensions, I remember, so Brittany, I have trusted extensions at Hair Co right now. Brittany, my girl who invented this hair line, told me that it's more of a lifestyle, which is very true, so I didn't see Brittany the first time I got the extensions from her.

the truth about my hair extensions interiordesignerella...

I went to the dkw sales room and it was great, it was a great experience. I'm very grateful if they were a little far for me, so I wanted to find a girl who was local here and I really like her. I love her. I love her living room. If you're in San Diego, I highly recommend it, I thought. she is this gem that no one has discovered yet, so I highly recommend her and the extension of her. I've only had two different types of extensions to compare, for some reason the way theirs are made. I know they are different types of extensions we have different materials like they don't tangle I don't want to say of course there is some tangle.

I brush my hair, but unlike how I had my first pair of extensions, I just feel like they are so much easier to maintain, so I love the trusty haricot extensions. If you're looking for extensions here in San Diego, I'd say go there first, so my top five tips. I'm going to take out my phone because I'm older. and I can't remember what I'm saying and I talk too much and go off on tangents. I look like a bird okay so I would say the first tip is to take motrin so if you're opposed to taking something like over the counter some I only take it if I really need it guys I mentioned another video like I have a lot migraines, so I take them for migraines and I take them for when I've had my extensions moved or when I have this completely new thing.

I put it on so I'm sorry and I rarely wear it much but I found it useful, like the first time I got them done I thought it was okay, like it's a little tight, it feels like someone is pulling on your hair, but then it's like pulling on your hair for a long period of time and it made me feel a little claustrophobic guys I thought I can't just pull these out of my hair these are in my hair so I felt like taking Motrin helps relieve a few things I've acquired, so I thought okay, the day I get the extensions, whether as a full set or moved up, I take Motrin that night and I'm prepared to sleep like that.
More on my side because I lay like the crown because the extensions depending on how many rows you have are sewn in and there's less like pulling on those different points like if you sleep on your side and then one night I slept a little bit. like elevated on my pillow okay so movement helps so be prepared for your first night of sleep the first time you put it on and put it on well and I would say get them ahead of time ahead of time it will be easy , so I was talking. to a girl and she said, "I really want to get them done for my wedding, so that's amazing, they'll look amazing, but I wouldn't do them if you've never had them before, don't get them just in time for your wedding, I'd say do a couple rounds of getting my extensions up, probably every five or six weeks.
I try to push. I know sometimes people say to get them up a little early, but I'm okay with having some growth. I feel like it was like It's a shock how much they're pulling on me and I remember you guys were just being honest with you. I feel irritable. I was irritable with the kids like it was pennant Earwolf, my husband. It just felt like someone had a brush in my hair like I was constantly pulling on my head and I couldn't stop it, so I thought, wow, it wasn't very painful, it was more of an annoying sensation that I felt.
I wasn't prepared for that and of course it seems obvious, oh, you're putting things on yourself. hair, but I didn't really know what that felt like, so I would say if it's your first time, don't do it especially for your on your wedding day you don't want to be irritable on your wedding day you want to feel uncomfortable like that's what last thing you already have so much going on I would say try extensions months before you have your wedding day or especially whatever it is so get them early and decide if you really like them and I would say give it a try a couple of weeks.
It took me a couple of weeks because I was contemplating getting the frames as many extensions are not for I would like to just wasn't sure so that will lead me to the next thing and then don't be afraid to have them looser so I know they want to install them pretty tight, but I would say a defender, if you know, if you want to start like they have a lot of people at bay, I think most do, then that's great, you can start there and evaluate it for yourself and see if I can handle this, no problem. or some people are a little more sensitive like me, I walk over here and I just walk in and ask them to like when they upload it or when they put on a new outfit like I just need it. have it looser even if that means I need to come a little more frequently or they grow a little faster, like knowing me realistically like me, I just need to get up, otherwise I'll sleep badly from the first nights I'll be irritable like it just impacted my days more than I thought and I sleep my days and my nights so don't be afraid to ask them to make me looser even if they say no because they like it.
They are trying to help you by not coming as often, but again, it's totally up to you, just to let you know that I asked for them to be made looser and by the way, Britney is extremely accommodating and that's fine, so the next thing I want to do . What should be mentioned is that she is prepared for her scalp to itch like that, not necessarily because she is damaging her hair. Natural bead rows are like the safest way to put extensions in her hair because they basically sew them in areas very similar to small surface areas. your head, so there's less contact points on your head or less pulling of your head with them, but the little beads that are there sting you, okay, it's like rubbing your scalp and I was like, oh, it means that This stings you a lot. and I was just like, well, maybe I just need to live with it, I thought like when they put them on tight, maybe that's how it is like I don't know any better, maybe I just need to live with it.
It's like everyone else does it to them, how does it not bother them? and then oh it started to itch, how does this not bother you? So they gave it to me at gkw hair salons. They have this calming scalp treatment so you can just put this on your itchy spots so that was great. It's like I haven't really talked to anyone else who has extensions that mention this, so I just want to tell you girls that if you want this, I highly recommend it. Then I was also using it as a shampoo for my scalp because I find my scalp is a little drier just because I don't wash as much, but I'll get into that next.
I would say like I just started. using it like it was like a head and shoulders of my goal just for my scalp for a while while it got a little itchy and um, but I don't recommend it for general hair care. I use Kevin Murphy for my hair products because I want products that are going to be good for your hair extensions and your natural hair. Now you have it if you treat it well with the color. I would say don't use it as a drugstore shampoo for that, but just for my scalp. I would massage it in there and then use nicer shampoos and products on my extensions and a little bit down, but not as well.
The last thing I want to mention, tip number five, I'm not even sure if these are tips, but they are epiphanies. or it seems to be Oh Erin I would say don't complicate hair care like I'm looking at you they're also like tutorials like I want it I think no extensions are expensive like how can I get the most out of my extensions because they say replace them after eight months but really I wanted to put them aside for a year. I'm wondering what I can do to keep my extensions in good shape and get the most bang for my buck, so to speak, so I would say just don't make it too complicated.
I hadn't used a dry shampoo until I got the extensions and I love this one. This is legit. I change my life. Well, I'll walk around with my greasy hair in my cap and I'm so surprised how. This refreshes my hair a lot because I feel like I have very oily hair. I have very oily skin. All that and I'm usually extremely sensitive to smells. I think this has a strong smell but it is tolerable as if I didn't use perfumes. I use unscented lotions just because this has been amazing I highly recommend this dry shampoo and I know being a brunette sometimes dry shampoos leave residue and this isn't the case so this is a game changer and it's in Amazon a tip to tell.
You guys, your hair extensions are much easier to handle and brush when they're somewhat dry, so I don't even necessarily brush all my hair out after I get out of the shower. Someone else wants to help me. I brush my hair. before I go in the shower so there's less tangles so I don't know maybe I already do that but I always brush my hair before I go in the shower so when I get out I don't feel too tingly and then I let my hair air dry and then I dry it more, then I'll go ahead and come back with a brush where needed, but I know everyone here is a little different.
I would talk about brushing your hair, it's important. To brush your extensions, the first set of hair extensions I had like I didn't know required so much brushing and from the base so I wanted to move my hair extensions up and they said why don't you brush? I don't know and they seem like a rat's nest, like it was all long where I had it. I had no idea, I couldn't see it, so I was worried because with my Trust Hair Co extensions that's what it is. This is going to happen and honestly it's not and I'm so grateful that these extensions have been really easy for me to manage so maybe once a week I could just pin my hair up and then start from the base . of the extensions and simply brush out any tangles that may have occurred.
I know I've been told to sleep with my hair braided or just out of the way so your hair doesn't go anywhere or everywhere. I feel like it depends on how wild your dream is. I don't think I'm tossing and turning so much about not sleeping with my hair braided, but you could if you want, okay guys? These were going to be like five tips. I feel like we ended up having a heart to heart about extensions here, but I hope it's helpful to hear what I had learned that no one had really told me. Yes, it has taken an adjustment, now I know to wait, oh my scalp is going to itch from the rows as they grow and I know how much time I want to spend washing my hair and I actually like brushing my hair and Their dry shampoo has been amazing and you can definitely wear your extensions straight, you don't have to curl them but I feel like this curl basically stays until I wash them again for days so it feels like a full week for the whole week so which I hope has been useful.
