According to Vanity Fair's oral history of Saturday Night Live, Dreyfuss received his fair share of psychological torture when he hosted the famous late-night comedy show in 1978. This time, it was John Belushi messing with Dreyfuss's head, but to listen to his partner casting Murray described it; he was delighted to see it. He told the magazine that "they were punching guys who didn't see it coming. And the more actors they were, the worse they did it.
