over the Islanders because right now? A lot of people say that bad officiating caused them a playoff loss in overtime. Let's move on to OT. I'll do the summary later. an errant stick to the face of Martin Nook this is a clear high stick however nothing was called even though there were officials looking directly at the play according to commentators martinook would then go shout at the umpire leaving his side of the open ice jordan stahl hit jasper fast and that's the game now yeah i'll give it up even if you take a high stick it's the playoffs you shouldn't leave your side like a d-man there's a reason the fast was so open, it's because Mayfield was out of position and you still can't.I miss those calls you
just
can't that should have been a two or maybe even a four minute penalty depending on the severity of the high stick the only potential reason I wouldn't call this as a referee is if Mayfield made the stick fly to him. his own face and while he makes contact, that's not enough. NHL rule 60 states that the offending player's intent on the high stick doesn't matter, a player has to be in control of his stick, he is responsible for it, the only exception is on following up on a shot that is clearly not relevant here and I'll see it during editing. The Islander player hitting this deck is a bit more obvious, but to me the rule is still pretty clear: any contact made with a club on an opponent. above the shoulders is prohibited that's what it says this is a penalty and what makes this worse is the Islanders were on the wrong side of the penalties all night in fact they didn't have a single power play in the whole game, which is rare and we'll see how penalties played out in scoring. Carolina opened the game with a slave to Jacob on a timer from a really tough angle after a strong drive and some aggressive play from Brent Burns and I have to say I thought Burns was really great for Carolina he was buzzing. in the offensive zone all night and I think that's what they wanted it for, however from then on the Islanders would be bogged down in a couple of four minute double miners this would really make it difficult for them to get momentum but when it looked as if could successfully kill the second double Miner, there's a weird play where Sebastian Ajo throws the puck into the air into his own net. very close to this goal Nate almost takes a penalty here we are getting very close to interference but either way three unanswered Islanders goals however slaved from a very difficult angle would end up tying the game 3-3 , which would lead to extra time.
I'm a Rangers fan, but I understand why the Islanders faithful are very angry at the moment and have every right to be. universe that the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders now operate in, but what did you think of the game? Tell me all that and more below.
