The Most Offensive Encore | Jimmy Carr: Laughing and JokingJun 05, 2021
It's okay, it's tsunami week. Remember the tsunami. All he wanted to say was that the tsunami was terrible. Tokyo was covered in raw fish and seaweed. A situation that the mayor described as delicious. bred eel aces I had a similar thing with Hurricane Sandy remember Hurricane Sandy that devastated the east coast of the United States all I wanted to say was that it was the worst thing to hit New York since those two planes possibly hit that issue with the newspapers over a joke once a year obviously last year I went rogue I tend to get in trouble over a joke with a journalist once a year last year the joke that got me in trouble with journalists was this one you probably remember from last show why did they call in sunshine's variety coaches all the kids on board will look the same right he is doing a lot of the heavy lifting on that joke right it's not that bad the journalists in question said you can't say that about kids time waiting because the variety of children's charities do a lot of work, they do some last bit of work with mentally handicapped children, but they also do a lot of things with physically handicapped children and with socially handicapped children, you can't lump all those kids together once bunch of kids, you can't call anyone kids, you're a journalist, you should know better and also be offended on someone else's behalf in my opinion it's the truth, all of that is just you taking the moral high ground to be offended i think.
At the very least, you have to be the one to be offended, so if you're really offended by the latest joke, while we're talking charity stuff when you leave tonight, there's going to be a bucket drive, there's going to be people with buckets and cans and I'll tell you Briefly what it is about. We are raising money tonight for abused children and if we raise just £500 between us we can buy your silence. That's clearly a joke, the reason I'm saying it's Clearly a joke is because I did a gig in Croydon a couple of months ago and a woman actually came up to me after the show and said where are those collector's tents just to pick that for a second so now he just didn't realize that was a joke he wanted to help is someone totally unfazed by everything i've said you told me offended by anything what's your lynnster on hand it's not news your name you don't hear that every day i guess you do you name what you tell me you're shooting what you're studying economics whereabouts of Royal Holloway well maybe if it worked a bit more for your academics just say it Royal Holloway isn't I mean, come on there are universities that have always been universities that were universities that used to be polytechnics that later became universities and then there's Royal Holloway which I think used to be a 24 hour garage I wasn't with it I loved it yeah let me try an Avenger is it ok when I was in school mate in mind? got caught coughing in showers not good ruined school trip to Auschwitz ain't gonna get no more offense than that guy for talking about the worst thing that ever happened I can tell you're a more
offensivejoke than that but I can't tell a story about myself what's going to make you change your mind about me and then change it right away George when you listen to him he worries is that he basically tells you what it's like to be famous what it's like people ask you to do things and it's good to do say yes because they are usually fun things do you want to keep up to date yes i want to do you think yes i want to come and visit a hospice it's hospice care for adolescents yes i do i got that call about six years ago i said yes i'll be leaving.
I didn't know what some of those words are. Men. Sounds good. Teenagers. I imagine that would be fun. Now it happens. the girl said i will go and thinking this is going to be like this s going to be if i say oh go then go then i went there with very low expectations i thought i will be lucky to get through this without crying i went there was genuinely i am going to come believe what lo I'm here because it was genuinely inspiring it was great to go if you have the opportunity to visit a hospice go to a hospice they are amazing because I don't know what inspires you but I like the idea of carpe diem living in the moment now be where happiness is and if you meet teenagers limited in life they are having it because they are aware how valuable time is and i think we often forget it in our everyday lives so it was amazing to go and be i will be back many times since then and would recommend it as what it is what to do it's a lot of fun don't worry locked up there will be no society apart which blew my mind when i went there was an incident so if i go out for a coffee before the show i go to starbucks, or Obviously, my favorite coffee shop, but if I go out for coffee before On the show, there's a group of 15-year-old girls in the coffee shop.
They're going to be very flirtatious with me, not because I'm a super hot guy, but because I'm a celebrity and there's a reputation for celebrity in our society. for better for worse it's just a given so I'm used to that kind of flirting in that context I didn't expect it in the context of hospice for adolescents there's a girl there she just turned 15 pretty little thing and she's a great comedy fan and had all the dvds watched everything on youtube like really in love with her and she was so flirty and so tactful and i thought all she wanted was a kiss and i thought well where is the harm she's gonna be dead sooner that I can testify I can see that you think that's bad I can make it worse that's two words it's a true story it's a true story it's just about a different Jimmy thank you very much for coming as we say five people with Tourette what makes you mark that originally it was about suicide bombers.
I've toned it down for you.
