the ford f 650 is a 150 000 super truck
Now you surely know the Ford F Series, which is the best-selling vehicle in the United States. people buy the ford f-150 which is very capable for almost all needs, if you need to tow or haul something specific maybe upgrade to the f250 and if you really want to tow something huge then you get an f 350 and the vast majority Consumers think that's where the Ford F-series line ends, but that's not the case because this is an F-650. In fact, the Ford F series line goes all the way up to the F-750, but most of these higher numbered trucks are typically commercial vehicles like tow trucks, ambulances or dump trucks, but not this one, it's just a regular old truck, except now it's huge, Ford doesn't sell it this way.

More Interesting Facts About,

the ford f 650 is a 150 000 super truck...

They sell the F-650 with a cab and then just a basic stripe. They call it a chassis and then this company called supertrucks turns it into a truck with luxury features and a truck bed. Now the f650 weighs 10,000 pounds before that conversion so this is really huge, luckily it has a good engine to handle all that power. It has a powerful 6.7 liter V8 engine, it makes about 330 horsepower and about 750 pound-feet of torque, so anyway today I'm going to review the f650 first and take you on a tour and show you all of them. the cool quirks and features of the ultimate pickup truck then I'm going to take it out on the road and drive it and then I'm going to give it an excellent rating and for more of my thoughts on the f650 click the link below to visit autotrader.com Oversteer, okay.
the ford f 650 is a 150 000 super truck
I'm going to start with the quirks and features of the f650 by just getting in there and as you can see this is a truck with a ladder because it's huge but there's a problem with the lower ladder. the ladder is still very high, you can see I have to lift my leg up a lot and if you are old or small you may not be able to do this, so even with the ladder it is difficult to get in, luckily they have thought of that. You open the door and another staircase unfolds, so now you have an even bigger staircase, but this is more than enough to be able to climb step one, step two, step three to the f650 and you're finally on the same deal when you arrive. you start here on the top step, one step two, step three, you get out, you close the door and then the extra ladder retracts into the vehicle and it's worth noting that that folding ladder is not exclusive to the driver's side of this truck. they have the same thing on the passenger side and in the back you open the tailgate and once again the ladder extends automatically and then you go up to get into the F650 and then you get in and again the same thing to get there.
the ford f 650 is a 150 000 super truck
Get out of step one, step two, step three and only then you will be comfortably out of the f650 and the next step I'm not done with this ladder to get into the f650 because this is not just a ladder, it's also a fuel tank if you look . In the back you'll see a big cap on top and that's where you put the diesel fuel in this thing and there's two of these, there's a giant fuel tank on the driver's side that includes these steps and then there's a giant fuel tank. tank on the passenger side that includes these steps so this truck has two fuel tanks for a total of 115 gallons of fuel at the current price of diesel filling up this truck is something like four or five hundred dollars but that's the price that you pay drive the best truck, but on the side of this truck there are not only fuel tanks, in fact this is a cargo compartment, you open it, you turn this little latch and then you can see that you can put some cargo in here and actually, the same thing on the other side, on the passenger side of the truck, in the same place, there's another cargo compartment like this that you can open up and put things in, which I think is actually a very good idea because otherwise this just wastes space and one of the big problems with vans is that there is no trunk, you can't close anything, but with this you can notice that there is a separate key lock, you can store your things here and no one will be able to access it. and then we go to the platform, which is pretty ridiculous.
I say that because, as I mentioned before, Ford sells the F650 as a stripped chassis, which means it has a cab and then here just chassis rails and you can add whatever you want. Now most companies add the rear end like a tow truck, dump truck or ambulance bed, but to make it the ultimate pickup truck, just add the regular Ford F-350 bed dually, match and practically that's all. I have it available for them, but this creates some problems. I'll start with the fuel door. I showed you earlier how you add fuel to the giant fuel tanks here, but the F350 bed comes with a fuel door when you buy it, so you can open it. fuel door and there are just holes in there, it looks absolutely ridiculous, stupid and unfinished, but that is the reality when you stick to a platform of a different vehicle and then we move on to the next problem created by the platform and that would be the problem with the tire now the normal f350 uses normal street car tires, obviously they are huge but they work for normal road vehicles but the f-650 uses these huge commercial grade tires that you would see on a tow truck or a dump truck so that these tires don't fit well under this wheel because they were never designed to go here, so if you really look closely at the wheel you will see that the top of the tire fits on the bottom of the wheel, but if it went up any higher, cut the tire and it couldn't actually turn, so for the first time in the entire history of one of my reviews, I can say with confidence that this wheel well is here purely for decoration as it doesn't actually have any functions as it It actually can't contain the rim and then we move on to the more serious problem with the box and that would be its usefulness.
Why do you need a truck bed to put things in? Well, you can do it in this truck. but the problem is that when you drop the bed, it goes all the way to my stomach or even a little higher, there is no way you could fit anything in this bed, especially something heavy, if you wanted to transport it, so you have this huge truck with this . Incredibly capable chassis and you can't even put anything in here to drive it anywhere because no one can get into this bed, which is probably the biggest flaw related to the bed.
It's almost like the entire bed is just there for aesthetic styling reasons, but anyway. Speaking of the bed, if you could get your hands on something here, you'd find that it's just a pretty standard Ford F-350 Super Duty bed, nothing unusual, nothing particularly special about the 650's bed. But while the inside of the bed may not be Particularly interesting, there are quite a few other interesting quirks and features on the exterior of the F-650. I'm going to start with the fender skirts. This thing has such huge tires it has to have huge fender skirts. They look like they came straight out of a truck, they are really intense, in fact the fender skirts are so big that they have their own turn signals that you put on the turn signal and one specifically lights up on the top of the fender skirts and speaks. of excessive lighting, that's an issue on this particular f650, when you turn on the turn signals, four separate signal lights come on in the back of this truck, on each side, you have the one on the fenders and then there are one right under the box. you have one in the brake light housing of the normal tail light and then you have one on the top of the cab in the back, so there are a lot of different ways this truck lets you know it's changing lanes or turning from behind and the thing about this The truck is a little eager to let you know it's changing lanes, it continues along the side where it also has a huge amount of turn signals, it has one on the front fender, it has one on the side mirror and then has four separate LED turn signals.
Signs on each side under the doors to let other drivers know you are changing the length, this is not due to any regulation. It's clear to me that this truck was owned by an LED lighting enthusiast who wanted lots of different lights every time something happened. but probably the craziest exterior feature of this truck is the front end design. If you look at this front end, it's clear that these are giant commercial vehicles from Ford. It looks nothing like a normal truck and I guess that's why people buy it. The neighbor just got an F350 and they want to show it to them so they can buy this and no one will ever confuse this with any normal truck.
When you see the front of this thing, it's ridiculously huge, especially huge and massive on this truck, is this it? Giant front bumper that sticks out about a foot and a half beyond the front of the trunk. It's chrome on the front, matte black on top and I can sit completely in it, which is not something I can do in most cars. review I'm not sitting on many Pagani wire bumpers, but you can sit on this one because it's so tough, massive and crazy that it's worth noting that this bumper will also push anything out of the way and while we're up front.
We could also talk about the engine as I mentioned, this is Ford's 6.7-liter V8 power stroke turbodiesel engine, 330 horsepower, about 750 pound-feet of torque, pretty healthy numbers, but what I like most is how you access the engine, there is no little latch that you squeeze. driver's footwell, instead you walk over to the passenger side and untie this little strap, then you walk over to the driver's side, unbuckle the same strap and then it's all a matter of brute force and brawn to lift this hood Absolutely huge, but once you do you can see the engine, although it's still about six and a half feet off the ground, so it's not like you have much access to it and, by the way, since I'm up front, it's worth the It's worth noting that the massive LED lighting theme of this truck continues in the front.
You can see that there are four separate LEDs on this giant front bumper. Now you turn them on with the four auxiliary switches in the cabin. If you press all of them to turn them on, you will turn on the lights. In the front, all four, the two circles and the two in the middle and you'll also turn on all the lights in the back, there's a giant LED above the bed that lights up and then there's two more LEDs on the rear bumper again. I'm not sure what the obsession was with the LEDs, but when they're all in this truck it's very unmistakable and then we move on to the inside of the f650 and by the way, my camera and tripod are as high as they can be right now.
This setup has worked for every other car I've reviewed, but it's not high enough for the f-650 and it seems like you're like a puppy looking into a car, come play with me, but move inside anyway. Now the interior here isn't as interesting as the exterior, mainly because it's really just a regular F-series super-tough truck cab with this ridiculous bodywork, so there's nothing particularly interesting or strange, but there are some peculiarities and characteristics worth noting, the most important. what is the transmission situation, this truck has an automatic transmission as expected but no parking. Look in the gauge cluster, you can see all the other gears are there, but there is no p to park this truck. put it in neutral and then there's this giant floor mounted handbrake, you pull it and then the truck parks like a manual transmission car or a dual clutch exotic car or a Ferrari F1 transmission.
I have never seen this on any other vehicle. but it is in this and below there are some other interesting quirks and features worth noting, for example on the center control console there is a small fuel icon and you can see that there is a switch marked l and r, this is to switch between left and right. correct fuel tanks, so if you run out of fuel in your 60 gallon tank on one side, just switch to the 50 gallon tank on the other and keep going and then another cool item on that center control console, there's a button that is marked hold for two seconds with arrowssimilar to the side of the bed of a truck, if you press that button it will actually lower the truck to make it a little easier to put things in the bed, unfortunately it's not easy enough, the bed is still very very high and there are really There's not much you can do to change it because there's a lot of hardware underneath, but that makes it a little easier now, when you want to raise the bed again, just press the button again for two seconds and the truck will come. go back and then you can drive as usual and then another interesting button on the central control stack to the right of the steering wheel there is a button with what looks like a little cloud on it, press that and it will restrict the exhaust gases to the engine, the theory here is that you use that button when you're going downhill, you press it and then it's going to restrict the exhaust flow from the engine and that's going to make it a little bit harder to turn the engine over and that's going to slow you down. the engine and therefore the truck and that way when you are going downhill you don't have to brake which is an especially big problem if you are towing a trailer it is very heavy and will burn out.
You brake quickly but you press it and it will slow you down a little more than usual and on the left side of the steering wheel you have a little black button that was not put there by Ford, you know this because it is not labeled and what it does is turn on the train horn, of course, the type Of person who would want a truck like this would want a train horn, so let's listen to it very briefly and finally move on to the last interesting button inside, this one. On the driver's door panel there is a little button with a mirror, you press it and it moves the mirrors in or out, which is really amazing because if you are towing a trailer a lot of times you have to stay like an extended mirror to see behind the trailer on this thing you just press the button and the mirrors you already have slide out a little more when you remove the trailer, press the button again and the mirror goes back to normal, it really makes towing easier.
It's a lot easier, but aside from those interesting buttons in the odd neutral parking lot, this van has a pretty basic interior and you can tell it was originally intended to be a pretty basic commercial vehicle, for one it has three seats in the front, no frills. A fancy center console here also has a plastic dash, a plastic glove box, a plastic steering wheel, nothing here looks particularly good again, this was intended to be a basic work truck until it was converted and the company that converted it they put in these nice heated leather seats, but at its core, it's still a pretty basic vehicle and we finally moved on to the back seat of the f650 and as you can probably see again, this wasn't meant to be anything cool or interesting, just a back seat to go in a work truck. a job site, nothing particularly special, but the company that turned it into a super truck added a couple of cool quirks and features, one is the fact that this back seat folds down into a bed, press this little button on the side and it will fold. completely flat so you can sleep in the back of your f650 if necessary and if you are a little small because it is not a very big bed and the other interesting quirk worth noting here is that in the back of the front seats, Not only does it have one document storage pocket, but two, which is double what you get in a regular vehicle, proving again that this is the ultimate pickup truck and those are the quirks and features of the Ford F-650. .
Now is the time to acquire it. this thing on the road and see how well it handles driving the f-650 and i have to say i think this is the biggest and most ridiculous thing i have ever driven in my life. It's huge. I have driven sprinter trucks. I've driven big cargo vans, all kinds of G-wagon 6x6 full size 2500 pickups, this thing takes the cake, you're sitting so high, now I feel what semiconductors must feel like driving, it's absolutely crazy, in fact I think in all the madness. what I talked about before, in fact I think in the first minute I can only say that driving is actually the craziest part, this is absolutely, I mean, I feel like I'm 25 feet high.
I also can't imagine why anyone would want one of these things in most circumstances, I mean they are so absurd and ridiculous that they don't fit in any residential garage, they don't fit in any parking lot, you must have a hanger for this or just leave it outside , yeah, I mean, I'm even with things like I'm next to a semi-trailer, I'm even with the guy's cab, like there's not basically, you're driving in a semi-trailer, except it's for personal use, so yeah, I have than having a semi-trailer, no problem, not much else, that's especially interesting or exciting about the driving experience, it drives like a huge truck, but probably even a little worse, the steering is very vague, there really is no so much acceleration power, you don't expect it, I mean, obviously, even though this thing is like the ultimate truck craze, it's still designed for pulling and that kind of stuff and, uh, not for any kind of fun or emotion.
I think the real fun you get is knowing that you have this ridiculously crazy thing. I must admit it if you really want to. To be the king of the road, you know, in today's world everyone said they wanted an SUV so they could sit on high, now everyone has an SUV, so you can't configure anything about anything, but if you want to be the King of the Road. forget the 6x6, you want one of these things, you want this or a cxt or mxt international whatever or chevy kodiak, I mean this is the absolute king, I just can't imagine any real rational practical purpose for it except be the king off the road like yeah, mine is bigger, it doesn't really matter what someone else has.
Mine is bigger, I have to be honest. As big as this thing looks from the outside, it feels even bigger on the inside. It's amazing to me how small normal cars feel when I'm driving in this thing, the acceleration is quite laborious, the ride quality isn't the best and ultimately it's a Ford truck and it's a commercial chassis for the which wasn't designed for luxury travel, it's just like with the hummer or whatever. Some people wanted one as a personal vehicle. This is so outrageously high. I feel so superior to everyone else and you also feel like you can bump into things.
I mean, I'm especially sorry for that giant bumper on the front. I would like. It would be nothing if it started hitting other vehicles, but also maybe even trees, and that's the Ford F-650. You know, the Ford F-150 is pretty big, the F-250 and F-350 are huge. This thing is on another level. It's gigantic, colossal, huge, whatever you want to call it, it's hands down the best truck, whether it's good or not, now it's time to give the f650 a Doug Score, starting with the weekend categories and the Design of the f650 is a bit of an acquired taste I wouldn't call it ugly but it's certainly not beautiful and gets a 5 out of 10.
Acceleration is very slow and gets a 1 out of 10. Handling is really bad, incredibly floaty and soft, It's not dangerous, but getting there. and it gets a 2 out of 10. The fun factor is okay, it's not that fun to drive, but I admit it's fun to flex this thing like the huge truck it is and it gets a 4 out of 10. The cool factor is The reasonably tall people Non-truck haters hate it, but truckers think it's awesome and it gets a 6 out of 10 for an overall weekend score of 18 out of 50. Next up are the daily categories and features, it's not very well equipped unless count the led ones. lights up as features and gets a 3 out of 10.
Surprisingly, the comfort is not that good and gets a 4 out of 10. The quality is good, the interior is not very nice, but they are reliable and durable and gets a 7 out of 10. practicality is low, these are very capable but also huge and impossible to carry or park anywhere and it gets a 3 out of 10. finally value and these are a lot of money for what they are, their appeal is incredibly limited and it gets a 4 out of 10 for an overall daily score of 21 out of 50. Added up to Doug's score is 39 out of 50 and here the f650 is next to a bunch of other ridiculous big trucks and SUVs I've reviewed, it loses a lot to the f- The 650 is an absurd vehicle and I don't recommend it unless you absolutely have to have it and if you're that kind of person then you don't care about your score, you're too busy laughing at the peasants you run over. while driving in your f-650
