When you walk into juries and a lot of regular professional art stores, as you can see, there are aisles and aisles of different substrates that you can choose from, from canvases to art magazines, we're talking about papers, different types of panels that are made. wooden ones, they have a whole different section, oh my gosh, like loose leaf papers that you can get too, there's decorative papers just walking down the aisles, there's watercolor papers, so it's really overwhelming, so let's start from the beginning. There are these boards, it's literally a canvas panel in a notebook, so it's about three dollars a sheet, but they're very big, so they're very inexpensive, they're great for making projects, they're great for making gifts, you can mail them very easily and it's like a very sturdy cardboard, but the surface is ready to use, it's ready to collage, it's ready to paint. My other favorite product that I'll get to in a second is the Strathmore Watercolor Journal. This is my go-to item and my good, and as you can see, there is a lot to choose from. This is my option. I'm in the third. I love it because they are hardcover bound, so I can put them in my suitcase. I am traveling and I know that nothing will sacrifice my pages. the inside because it has a nice protective hardbound cover and it's a nice thick 140lb paper that weighs 90lbs. You want to avoid 90lb watercolor paper. I recommend watercolor paper for your mixed media projects, just make sure it's a hundred and forty. pounds or more, stay away from ninety pounds, it's just not strong enough for all that collage and all those layers and layers, so yeah, make sure you read the labels 140 pounds all the way, which is not appropriate Bristol, which is only great for markers and dry work pen paper don't use pen paper stay away from charcoal stay away from pastel papers okay stay away from tan toned paper you don't want to use blotting paper no no no don't use blotting paper don't use sketch paper again drawing paper sketch paper note that it is too weak and cannot withstand the blows you are about to give it so stay away from other things for an hour stay away from art again sketch papers marker papers too thin too thin vellum can't handle water beads let's get it again designer --velum --velum any type paper parchment tracing paper up a quick rundown of two weeks and what's awesome and what's not okay, so my favorite thing to use in media art because they're difficult and I like to start a lot of my work with collage, so you might really like to beat this thing up and it might need whatever support you have.

I made a collage about this swirling squirrel, but it's soft and sometimes if you try to get the air bubbles out of something, it's really hard because the canvas gives too much, that's my pre-stretched canvas. not my favorite canvas panel, yeah, that's why I also love these work tables that I bought today at Jerry's because they're super hard. You get the canvas panel without the big cost. This was a large, hardcover, paper book.
