takes things are still going further and today I'm going to review this car and show you what I mean. The black badge starts at 380,000 and this one has a lot of options and extras and features that bring that figure up to a 480,000 sticker price for this which makes it one of the most expensive sport utility vehicles ever built and today I'm going to show you what What makes the black Cullinan badge so expensive, I'll first take you on a tour of this Cullinain and show you all the cool quirks and features of the world's most expensive SUV. i'm going to take it out on the road and drive it and then i'm going to give it a score doug ok i'm going to start the quirks and features of this culinary with the fact that in the cargo area there are no dogs warning label seriously this warning label has a picture of a dog and a line through it indicating no dogs this was not put on by the dealer this is a rolls-royce factory warning label thats the level of craziness with the that we're dealing with this vehicle I'm going to explain that there's no dog warning tag in a few minutes, but first I want to get into the Cullen and I want to talk about the back end, which is where most of the

madness is on this car. now to get into the rear you just open the door which is rear hinged the door opens backwards of a normal car door and inside this rear hinged door is an umbrella just p press this little button and an umbrella appears now which seems like a pretty cool quirk but it's even more interesting if you understand why they've done it it's for a chauffeur you see the chauffeur come to the back door open it then press the button to open the umbrella he pulls it all up in one fluid motion so he can let the rich person out the back and they don't have to rain on and that's why the door is hinged at the back and that's why that the umbrella is stuck right here in the door but none of that is the craziest thing about the back door that honor goes to you you are sitting back here you just spent half a million dollars on an SUV you don't want to close your own door so roll royce makes it easy you see this little button next to the rear door near the roof you press it and then the door closes automatically and then free from the fetters of the outside world you have to admit that is a luxury feature b pretty cool and then we move on to the backseat of the black Cullinan badge where you are met with some really amazing luxury features to start with a moment ago you may have I noticed I wasn't wearing shoes I have my socks on and that is It's because this vehicle has lambswool floor mats.

Now some very high end cars have lambswool but these are the fluffiest, softest, nicest floor mats I've ever felt in my entire life I don't have rugs in my house that are as nice as the floor mats in this car it's like petting the softest fluffiest baby animal you've ever touched really amazing and i felt like i had to take my shoes off because i don't want to get even a speck of dirt on the wall of the lamb and those formats are just the beginning back here this car has the starry night header if you've seen anything about Rolls-Royce in recent years you know about this it's a header that looks like a starry night sky thanks to the fiber optics throughout the headliner and it's a cool touch and gives you very luxurious feeling now you can turn on the starry night headliner with this little star button back here you press it and that turns it on or off also in that vicinity you will notice another star button rella which is the dimmer you can brighten or dim the starry night header by pressing that button but by now the starry night header is old news for Rolls-Royce except Cullinan adds a cool little new feature shooting stars there periodic shooting stars all over the header now they don't always occur in the same place and are not very frequent just like real shooting stars you have to be looking for them but eventually you will see them shoot through your headliner adding even more ridiculousness to the head starry night poster in these rolls-royces i love this little touch and it gets so much better the culinan has picnic tables in the back seats so you're sitting back here and you want to have a little meal or open your laptop while you travel you have a little table to do it on it's not that unusual many high end luxury cars have that but on this car they work c On power, press this little button and the picnic table automatically extends for you to use.

You want the picnic table to disappear smoothly. Press the button again and the picnic table automatically folds into place. older rolls-royce models simply manually folding your picnic table isn't difficult but now it's even easier and things get even better from there press the little button to drop the picnic table and you'll notice that behind There's a screen off the picnic table, so how do you access that pit? There's a button on the other side of the seat you push it and the screen automatically extends until it's facing you and then you've got this Rolls Royce screen back here that you can use to control a number of different things now a couple of highlights of the situation from the screen back here you have heated seats in the back that's pretty standard but you can also use the screen to turn on the heated armrest in case you're not getting enough heat from your heated seats that's pretty awesome , you also have an on board computer back here and the screen shows various vehicle information, you can see the fuel economy average speed and you can even see your range until you run out of fuel so you can sit here and monitor your driver while takes you from one place to another.

Of course you have other options with this screen as well, your typical stuff, you can use it to set a navigation destination which will then go to the front screen, the driver can follow you or you can change the radio station, come back here, the media, what whatever you're listening to. Or you can connect a phone via Bluetooth and that of course will go through the speakers so you can make phone calls while being carried around in your Cullinan, but the incredible luxury of this rear seat goes way beyond any of those things. i want to move to the center console there are only two rear seats back here individual seats there is no third seat in the middle instead you have this

ridiculous center console i am going to start at the front if you open this little panel you will see the controls for the displays rear screens now i showed you those rear screens are touch screens but you can also control them with this little wheel and buttons if that's what you choose to do so you have multiple options for controlling the rear screens most cars don't even give you multiple options to control the front screen but that's how crazy cooking is now one of the things you will notice while controlling the screens with these controls is that when you move the little control wheel in the middle the wheel moves but the spirit of ecstasy the Rolls-Royce logo stays in place that's a nice piece of attention to detail the spirit of ecstasy never reverses that it just wouldn't be appropriate and follows another notable item on this center console along the side it has seat controls this isn't really that interesting you can move the seats back forwards down which is pretty standard for luxury cars at this price But here's a few things that aren't so standard that the next item on the center console is this little storage area, you open it up and it reveals drink glasses and like a pitcher that you can fill and pour, all of which have the logo of Rolls-Royce stamped on or n them and all of which have a perfect place to fit inside this storage area but that's not enough between the seats in the back area it has another panel that can now be opened one by one side here you can see it has the infinity logo on this apparently Rolls Royce uses this for their black badge models because the Infiniti logo was also used on a co There was a Rolls-Royce engine in the 1930s that set the world speed record on water, that's why the Infinity logo is here a bit of a mystery, but that's the explanation, but anyway you open this panel and find out there's another panel you have to open it you open that panel and then you get to the fridge where you have another jug ​​and a few more drinking glasses all with the Rolls-Royce logo printed on it this way you can keep your drinks cool so you have two different options for beverage storage temperature in the back of the culinary just ridiculous and by the way if you close the fridge you can see there is a little button on the bottom that button actually turns on the fridge and you have the ability to choose how cool you want it to be using that button and the luxury doesn't stop there in your car it has headrests in this car it has headrest mounted pillows the headrests regu Lares aren't enough so you have these fancy Rolls-Royce pillows that make your seating experience so much more comfortable back here you also have cooled seats push this little button and then the cooled seats come on that's pretty weird but even weirder is the fact that back here you have massage seats, press this little button on the door, turn on the massage and if you have the screen open your different massage settings will appear and you can set how you want to be massaged.

As you sit in your luxury seat with your head on your Rolls-Royce pillow, it's crazy, and if all those seat controls weren't enough to keep you comfortable, the rear passengers have their own climate zone. it's back here I say zones because it's plural each seat has its own climate control the controls are on the back of the front center console in the middle back here even more amazing are the vents just above the climate controls you've got the vents which is pretty standard for the rear of

luxury vehicles but it doesn't even come close to stopping there on the pillar next to the front seat on the driver's side two climate vents more and in exactly the same position on the passenger side two more climate vents and also has climate vents in the floor on the driver side has vents and on the passenger side has vents there are a total of eight climate control vents Different climate only for the rear seats in the Culinan which is more than what you get in the front so there is a higher priority on climate control t lower than in the amazing front climate control and if all that luxury isn't enough the black badging goes even further back to the rear seats you will see that there is a bulkhead, a piece of glass placed between the seats and the cargo area, It's now a little known fact, but a lot of the noise you hear in an SUV, hatchback, or pickup truck comes from the cargo area, so putting that bulkhead in place.

You can cancel out much of that noise and make your backseat experience even more luxurious and comfortable, but anyway, next, it's time to get out of the Cullinan and when you get out, you have two options for closing the door: you can have your chauffeur do it or you can lock it yourself and lock it yourself of course I mean touch the door handle and the door will close automatically so you don't have to do anything hard like push it and then we move on to the front seats in the Cullinan Now, as I mentioned, I've already reviewed a regular Cullinan that was very different on the back of this one, but had a lot of the same stuff here.

I'm going to link that review in the description below for a fuller walkthrough in th is a video, I'm just going to mention a few of thehighlights up front like the fact that this culinary has the best back up camera ever it's not even a back up camera it's a full 360 degree out of the back camera car as you can see it shows everything around the car including the car in the picture its like a little drone is hovering around the car getting this picture for you apparently they do it by stitching together various camera angles but it looks like magic to me and it's amazing to see this on rolls-royce and some newer high end bmw models and then as i'm on that screen another great feature is the spirit of ecstasy control as i mentioned is the rolls bonnet ornament -Royce and you can turn it up or down within the infotainment system, you have the option to do that and whichever you choose, the hood ornament is responsive right away.

I guess the theory here is if you're driving through a rough area and you're afraid someone is going to leave. ng to steal it you can put it down to prevent the theft from happening and then once you get back to your luxury gated community just pick it up again to remind everyone what you are driving now an item worth noting there is a video on youtube where someone is demonstrating a feature that if you try to steal the hood ornament it will detect it and automatically retract into the car to prevent theft people keep asking me about this i have never actually seen this work and i have tried i have put these on hood ornaments and nothing happens i don't know if that feature is only on european models if the car has to be in a certain setting or mode but either way i've never seen it work except in that video and that's why it doesn't i demonstrate it in my videos below one thing you notice when you get on a cullen is not just how comfortable luxurious quiet and refined it is but also the quality everything here is so amazing You nice no detail was too small I'll give you a few examples the climate control dials you can see there's this aluminum dial that gets pretty standard it looks great but the best part is they're wrapped in leather On the side of this dial which is leather so your hands will never have to feel or touch plastic or some sub-par surface and then another amazing piece of attention to detail is the mirror controls in your car. it's plastic it's always plastic on this car you have this aluminum joystick that you use that allows you to perfectly position the mirrors where you want them so even the three times a year when you adjust the mirrors you have a luxurious experience doing it and the amazing thing the quality continues on the roof of most modern cars it has a microphone for the bluetooth system so when you talk it picks up your voice so you can talk on the phone on the roof of the culinan that microphone is aluminum it's not plastic like any other car but even that little piece has to be high quality aluminium, amazing attention to detail and then another big piece of luxury here even the front seats have power doors the little switch is mounted below.

The driver's side dash says door, you push it in and the door closes automatically again so you don't have to get involved in the fiddling around of closing a door, and of course the front passenger has that same control mounted too. under the trim at the top of the dash you push that button and the door closes automatically so the Cullinan has four doors that close automatically so you don't have to close them yourself that's what you get for 500 000 and of course there are more cool quirks and features here besides one being the climate controls themselves which are pretty weird instead of a dial that shows you what temperature you're setting you have these little dials that have blue and red in them and just move them when you see all blue it's cold air coming out of the vents and when you see all red it's hot air this is an old school way of doing it the rolls have been doing it this way for years and it just Go ahead and the next one, the Cullinan, is a vehicle meant to move in ultra-luxury, so there's no sporty button, but it does have a dialed-in button on the inside. bottom of the gear selector and you press it and it acts like a sport button that holds the gear a little longer and gives you a little better acceleration, but Rolls Royce doesn't put a sport button here because that just wouldn't be appropriate with the character of the vehicle and the next notable item in front of us here is the window tag and if you look at the window tag you can see the price of some of these crazy features that I've been showing you for example the shooting star header which It's 7500 bucks I hope you really enjoy those shooting stars below how about that rear center console with all those fancy features on the glasses costing 18 000 again?

The lambswool floor mats are only 1 50 to me which seems like a steal compared to the price of this vehicle and the price of some of the other stuff on this window stick or just fifteen hundred dollars to bathe your feet at this level of fluff it's a deal anyway if you add up all the crazy luxury items on this window sticker you can see it carries the starting price of a black conan badge of 382 thousand dollars all the way up to 479 575 bucks almost half a million dollars for an suv we certainly have come a long way from the chevy k5 blazer and the original jeep cherokee into wagoneer some of the first suvs from the 1970s and 1980s and then we went to the cargo area in the culinan and i hope it doesn't Didn't you forget there's no dog warning tag but anyway cargo area first back here the tailgate is at full power but oddly it's split in two so the top goes up automatically then you press a button and the bottom goes down automatically this allows you to have a picnic in the back of your cullen and you can sit here and enjoy your 500 000 tracking experience now a thing that really i like about the power tailgate situation on the cullen is the buttons you can see on the tailgate close button has a picture of the culinan not just a generic suv same deal on the lower tailgate open button has a they culminate there again because when you pay that much money for an suv nothing is generic but anyway the next thing i want to take back to the no dogs warning if you have been paying attention you can probably figure out why that warning label is here and that is due to the partition in the rear seats when you put that partition in it keeps all the sound of the cargo out but it also means the car area rga is totally and completely enclosed and since there are no vents back here or windows that open it means no airflow getting into the cargo area so you don't want to put dogs in here again because they will be awfully uncomfortable until the point of being dangerous now if you are used to putting dogs in your cargo area you can forget about this and put your pet in here and that little warning tag is meant to remind you not to. that goes without saying is not a warning label you'll find on any normal car because it just goes along with having a glass partition separating the passenger compartment from the cargo area, which is rare now once it's back to the cargo area, it's worth keeping in mind you have a pretty big space back here that's not for dogs.

The Cullinan is a really big vehicle and that means it has a lot of space in the passenger area and a lot of cargo space as well. stuff back here another interesting cargo area related article even though these two rear doors are separate they automatically close together you press the little power tailgate lock button and they automatically lock together making sure your tailgate is closed without you having to do anything at all and then move on to other outdoor items with the culinan. I want to start with his style. The reviews though are mostly positive but regardless of your opinion of its styling the Cullinan certainly has a presence it's absolutely massive the grille is huge the front end is huge the whole vehicle is very long it looks a lot More stately, bigger, more massive than any other SUV which is the next point is another exterior element that I love with modern Rolls-Royce models is the RR badge on the wheels.

I've mentioned this in other reviews, but it always bears repeating that the rr on the wheels is weighted to make sure it always stays upright even when you're driving, so the wheel center cap doesn't tip over or get mouthy. below you can see that it always stays straight so everyone knows what you have and then another item worth noting on the exterior of this culinary is the black badges themselves as I mentioned this is called the black badge of Cullinan and actually has black badges. The clones are removed and the black badges are supposed to give it a more modern look to appeal to younger people.

I think overall it looks more modern and cooler than your typical old school luxury car chrome and we finally move under. the hood of the culinarian and you can see it's huge engine this 6.75 liter v12 as i mentioned in the black plate model there is a little power increase over the regular culinan this one has around 600 horsepower and around at 660 pound-feet of torque of course those are healthy numbers it's about 30 horsepower and 30 pound-feet more than a regular model plenty of power and torque for a large vehicle so those are the quirks and features of the

black badge now i already drove the regular culinarian and i really dont expect it to be that different 40 horsepower what Be extra is a lot, but ultimately this vehicle is huge and you go from 565 to 595 so it doesn't really make much of a difference. amazingly quiet this is hands down the quietest car i've ever been in with the exception of maybe the rolls-royce phantom that vehicle of course is something like the sedan version of the culinan huh and both cars are just soft as a pillow, amazing. luxury but what really impresses me is that you don't hear anything i don't hear anything going on around me not a sound not an iota of sound not even a small potential chance of sound cars go by the wind goes by i don't know r Nothing like that, not even a little and I'm not exaggerating, there's no better way to be pampered while driving than in a Culinary, it's just the most comfortable, just sit back and relax, I don't even want to try the acceleration. in this vehicle I don't care, I'll do it in the interest of science.

Acceleration from 0-60 is 4.9 seconds and it scores a 6 out of ten. Handling is pretty much what you'd expect from a behemoth luxury SUV like this and it gets a fun factor of four out of ten. ok the fun really comes from knowing you are basically the king of the road and not from the Cullinan driving experience itself and it gets a five out of 10. The cool factor is high especially right now as this is new and scores a 7 out of 10 for an overall weekend score of 28 out of 50. Next up are the daily categories and features. This is incredibly loaded and I can't realistically imagine owning more and it gets a 10 out of 10.

Comfort is also amazing probably the best of any new car for sale and it gets a 10 out of 10. Quality is alsofantastic with the best materials that exist. The only downside is long-term reliability and it gets a 9 out of 10. Practicality is good, though the glass bulkhead in the rear makes loading difficult. volume because you can't just drop the seats meaning you essentially have a really big trunk and it gets a 6 out of 10 finally value and that's ok these are insanely expensive and will depreciate quickly and it gets a 5 out of 10 for a score total daily of 40 out of 50. added up in t It scored 68 out of 100, which puts it here compared to other ultimate SUVs.

The black badge ties the regular Cullinan up and adds a point in features as it has more stuff but loses a point for practicality due to the enclosed cargo area. Not that it matters enough. However you outfit a Cullinan, it's the best SUV on sale.
