I have some literature here and there, there's the actual tire and performance rim that we'll talk about in a moment here and a few others. There are good things here that I will pull out and show you in detail, so the kit is actually a complete kit. It doesn't just come with the spare tire. Comes with extra nuts. Comes with a cat. It comes with everything you need to change. You get a flat tire on the side of the road and it's all housed in this sleek, compact carrying case. Well, this is what the kit includes.

You get a high-performance tire that was designed from the ground up for the Tusla and comes with a Pirelli spare. Tire This is not one of those types of disposable replacement tires that many other car manufacturers offer This is a roadworthy tire that will last you for years and years It is not disposable you can basically use it until the tread wears out and you need be replaced, it is a reinforced tire and if you look at the specifications of the tire itself, it is rated for a maximum speed of 81 miles per hour. I think on the tire itself it is stamped sawn a minute ago, but it is stamped as usual. spare tire ratings like, you know, 50 miles per hour top speed.

I think that's just for them to keep the responsibilities down. It is a temporary tire, it even says here, temporary use only, this is to take you to a safe place to replace your tire if you damaged it, it is not designed to be driven like a normal tire all year round, of course, it is a aftermarket and it is what it is, it looks like it has pretty good tread, you know, siphon. away from the water and the snow and all that, so I think this is awesome and what else comes with the kit: you get a telescoping tire tool here, this extends so you can exert a little more leverage to loosen those lug nuts and You can use your original factory lug nuts, but it comes with replacement lug nuts here that sit nicely on this new tire or rim.
It comes with a couple of different adapters here, depending on what size lug nuts you have on your current car if you have the factory ones or maybe some aftermarket ones, they seem to fit a couple of different sizes here, a 17 millimeter one and a 22 millimeter one, and it actually comes with a jack and with it there's a ratchet extension arm so you can ratchet. instead of having to go around and mess with them, they were a huge pain and of course they have the Tesla in mind, they know the connection points with the batteries, so they designed this so you can use it with or without the discs.
It's a flat area of rubber that you put on, you still put it under the reinforced area of the car where the jack points are, but you don't have to use the disc if you don't want to, it's rubber coated and won't hurt. anything the rim itself is made of an aluminum alloy which is pretty light for what it is it's an 18 inch rim but with the sidewall it's the same height if you have a high performance model with 20 inch or even 19-inch sports car. wheels, this fits all models of the model 3, they designed it to where it is wide enough in the rear to have room for the high performance brakes, those larger Brembo brakes, so yes this will fit to all three models, they have a separate model for the Model S and the Model or anything like that if you're going on a long road trip and I want to have this with you.
It's light, it's compact. I think it's amazing. I don't know what you guys think. Let me know in the comments. The jack itself is rated at two tons, so it will definitely support the heavier model three. performance model with all-wheel drive, it's actually a bit much, but that's totally fine. I mean, you're not lifting the entire car with this jack, you're only lifting one corner at a time, so you're not putting all the weight on it. the car on this jack is only part of the weight so two tons is definitely enough and this is so light it's unbelievable this is what I'm used to using and if you know anything about these jacks they are heavy I'm saying that oh really.
It's hard to move these things and they're so heavy. Imagine having that in the car, that would surely kill the range, but it's so compact I'm really impressed, so even inside the case here you can put it. There is a pocket. here you can put all these nuts and the wrenches and all the accessories that come with them, actually the wrench came in this little bag here it came there, you can put all that inside the pocket, zip it up and then in the main one. compartment where you place the wheel and tire, they even include a bag to store your original flat tire.
Let's say you have a blowout and it's raining or snowing or you're just grossed out. You can put the original tire in this bag to take it with you and not get the inside of your car dirty and disgusting, so they've really thought about all this. I think it's awesome so I'm going to go ahead and

install

it now to see how it looks on the car so before you do anything he opens my new trunk if you haven't seen my previous video where I

install

ed this automatic trunk open and closed, it's great. I loved it, so I have my own jack pads.
I had these for a while, never had a chance to use them, haven't needed them yet, but I have these and white ones. I thought it was cool because the car is white if it was ever at night and I'm working outside and outside. On a flat they would be easier to see in the dark so I thought it was cool and they come in a little case. I'll put links to everything here below, so if you're interested in that, you can check it out. This is the cover removal tool that I have on my lug nuts here and it is also part of a kit that you can buy online.
All those things are available. Turns out I have them on because I have 18 inch wheels if you have the performance or others just look to see if you have tires on yours. I'm not sure about that so I'm going to start by removing these covers that way I can loosen the lug nuts while the car is secured to the ground, basically just a break and I'm going to use all the hardware that comes with the kit so I'll use the new one wrench that comes with it, so if you look at these sockets, they are actually double sided, so this one is actually 21 and 22 millimeters, the other one was 17 and 19, so it fits a wider range of sockets than you need for your lugs, depending on what you have.
It looks like this will be 21 millimeters from the factory, so I'll install it like this. I extend the arm and now I can have some leverage to get it loose, now that they're loose we can lift the car up, so if you look under the car, there's an actual place to put the jack right here, there's a hole there that sticks in and that's where you're going to lift the car so it sticks there like this and stays on the rear friction and again you don't have to use those discs if you don't want to with this kit because it's rubberized and it's flat, that's what I appreciated because if you look at the original type of jack pads here you'll see that they have lips that stick out nicely and can cut into the battery compartment if you're not careful so for me it was important to see that I had a flat piece of rubber here so I'll go ahead go ahead and I'll take this so you can see it's low profile here even if I had performance springs here that dropped the car an inch I would still have room to slide this under the disc it's that low if for some reason you have your car on bags or if you're on shocks, it's going to be a lot lower and maybe you just wouldn't use the puck, but this is definitely going to be low enough that you can use it safely, so I'm going to go ahead and put this underneath, put it like this and then here is where we'll put the key, okay, so there's a little switch on.
The side here that tells the ratchet which direction to turn, so I'm going to start here. Make sure it is positioned correctly, under the disk. This is super easy guys, it's not hard to do it all now that we have the car. raised we can go ahead and remove the lugs so one thing I want to show you is that my calipers actually had this retaining bolt here this shouldn't be here it was actually designed for the factory to hold the rotors to the wheel during installation manufacturing, it is not necessary for normal use in the car, it just needs to be held here during manufacturing, the caliper and the tension of the wheel and lug nuts is what holds it while you are going down the road. so you're going to run into a problem if you ever put aftermarket wheels on the car, if this bolt is still there, mine still had it, so I'm going to take it off and I'm going to go ahead and do it on all four wheels just because You never know when you're going to get a flat on which tire, so I'm going to go ahead and delete all of those because like I said, they're definitely not necessary and they might even fit this one, but just to play it safe, I just didn't see any. slot where it would fit, but could potentially fit there.
I'm going to play it safe and remove it and then we'll line this up and install the tire so you can grab your new one. New nuts that come with the kit and they will be 19 inches to use this socket on your extension so maybe it will be easier to put it on the socket first just start turning it because there are different holes here that they wanted to cut. It's also hard to put this on other cars, so they made multiple holes to line it up with different bolt patterns, but if you look at it from the front you can see where the bolts stick out, so it's pretty easy to put on.
Take your time. I'm screwing them on with the bushing. I think it's easier to just start, so for now you can shorten the length of this just to rotate it. You're just squeezing it enough to hold it while. you're lowering the car so to lower it back down all you have to do is flip the ratchet switch and now it's going to do it in the opposite direction to lower the car so here it is let me close the trunk so you can get the full effect, it looks really cool and it's a high performance wheel, I was actually saying when I spoke to the company, they told me that sometimes racers buy these rims from them to put on the front of their race cars just because they're Narrow, of course, they'll put some Mickey Thompson or some kind of slicks on the front tire-wise, but the narrowness of the rim itself is what attracts them, of course, the narrowness of the rim as well. comes into play for us.
Also, because it saves space, yes it is a thinner tire, but that is on purpose, it is designed to save space, so you can put it in the trunk for a road trip and you won't. You won't have any problems carrying your luggage, if you are looking for a full size tire you can also buy a full size tire and get a spare tire like this and store it somewhere, but this is really to take it somewhere safe. I liked. I said it will last you almost the life of the tire itself, which is just a normal road tire, so as soon as the tread wears out that's when you'll replace it, but it can go for miles and miles. on this and not have any problems, so now that the car is lowered on the wheel, the last thing would be to just tighten it as much as you can using this, ideally I would use a torque wrench and that way you will get the proper torque. specs on the steering wheel, but since we're dealing with real-world scenarios and you most likely don't havea torque wrench with you, you're just going to use this, just make sure you tighten it as much as possible. to get you home safe or to a tire store and then they can take it out of there and put the new one on and torque it to spec on the bushing nuts and your wrench, in fact I'm going to put this ratchet in there too, it fits great . size, put that in there just to keep it out of the way and I'm going to put all of this inside the pocket, that's how they're going to put this inside the pocket as well.
I can close the zipper, you'll see there's a gusset. here and also here just to prevent the tire from damaging the liner or whatever is poking out of the pocket. This is a nice kit I just wrapped up. all backed up as I found it all good done so just looking at this it is a full size tire so it won't fit on the Franck. The model 3 Franck is too small, you can see my hand. Compared to this, it is a full size tire and has the same height as the 18, 19 and 20 inch. The difference between them is that the sidewall of the tire is thinner on larger wheels, so if you line this one up and place a tape measure from the ground up, it will measure the same height as your 20-inch wheel and your 20-inch wheel. 19 inches so it fits all Model 3 models.
Now there are some older Model S's that were rear wheel drive and had a Mass of Franck and the spare tire kit they sell will fit them if you have one of those Older Model S with rear wheel drive, but this one will not fit. The same goes for the secondary trunk if you look down here, just no. It's a very big space, there's no way a spare tire will fit in there, so really your only option is to put it back in here and I'll go ahead and do that just to show you how it fits for a full size. spare, it actually fits quite well, it's a narrow profile, if you had a real original wheel it would just sit so high and there would be almost no room, you can still stack luggage on top of it, there is room on the side and of course, Of course, this area here is fine, how much does this kit cost?
Well there are three price points you get the kit with a carrying case and it's three sixty nine ninety five without the carrying case and that's three twenty nine ninety five and if you just want the spare tire with the wheel that will be two seventy nine ninety five so that's it guys I'm really excited about this product. I think it is necessary and I have done some research online and I think there is another one online. BEMER posts what you know they sell on a BMW website and if you dig deeper into the product they are selling for the model three it turns out to be a repurposed Ford Mustang spare tire so this kit really is the only one on the market right now that is designed from the ground up for Tesla, so I think it's cool, I love it, I'm glad I have it and I'll probably use it on every long trip I take, so what do you do?
Guys, you think: is this something you like? Is it something you would use one day? Is it necessary for these cars? I like to hear your opinions and comments, go ahead and post them below if you like this video, let me know by hitting the like button. and if you want to see more
