(laughs) - (FBE) Well, for those who don't know, TikTok has become an increasingly popular social media site, and many teenagers use this platform. So, we thought we'd bring in some of our

who are familiar with the app to teach our

elders

So how popular would you say the app is among other teens? - Oh, it's very popular. I think it's the biggest platform out there right now. - From one to 10, would you give it a 10? - 100%. - I don't know, it's not my thing, but it belongs to many people. -Yes, I know my granddaughter, she is 13 years old and she loves it. She does it with her friends. -When you go to school, like at lunchtime, you'll hear people just take out their phone, dance in front of it, and like to make TikTok videos. - (FBE) Ruby, from what you know and what you've seen on TikTok now, how do you think times have changed when it comes to what young people do for fun? - I'm surprised what people find entertaining.

It's like a completely different world out there that I know nothing about. - Our creativity was a different type of creativity, it was still conceptual, it was being creative, doing things that were fun, doing things that you could relate to, but the sharing platform is much better now. - Yes. - You can share with the planet. That's great. - I thought I had a happy childhood, I always say I had the last innocent, happy childhood, but I feel so empty now that you have all these social networks. - My friends and I made small films, because we didn't call them videos, they were movies.

And we would literally edit it from reel to reel with a little viewfinder with a light behind it, and I would cut it out and then use glue and make things disappear and reappear on film. I wished this, all these technologies existed when I was a kid. - (FBE) So finally, what do you want to say to people who want to make TikToks, but might be intimidated by the app? - Well, first you need a good teacher. - (laughs) I literally swore to myself I would never be on TikTok. And then once you do it, trust me, you will get very addicted to TikTok. (laughs) - Don't be closed-minded about anything these days.
