Suzuki GSX-R1000R | The GOOD & BADJan 14, 2022
what a night what a night we're running low on that now in the UK so I thought while it's a beautiful night before dark at 4 o'clock I thought I'd head out on the GSXR and talk about the
goodstuff bad of the g6 our mil double our double our so I've had this now uzuki shape for a week and a half I'm really enjoying this bike I love it for a sporty buy you know I'm not I'm a big fan of sportbikes. I have to be honest. I prefer naked bikes, but as far as sportbikes go, this is pretty cool. literally turn it on push it in there it seems like a small thing but it's pretty nice to touch it once and the bike just starts so that's the first thing that impressed me with this bike the little bit easier all
suzukis have than the second What impressed is when you first ride this is the suspension that BFF shows a suspension that is Absolutely beautiful, it glides over the blemishes in the trail, it doesn't crack.
I haven't had a bump yet from their shocks. When you're ready to push it, I guess it's probably not as
goodas the öhlins because from one perspective it's absolutely fantastic. really good it's amazing what's not so good is ok but the blippar the blippar can be a little clumsy at low revs let's see if we can instigate some clumsiness its not that bad there im saying the blip is a bad thing its just no no It's one hundred percent smooth one hundred percent of the time. I mean none of these bikes are bad nowadays, so I have to be picky to find things that could be improved, let's just say so.
I'm picky about things. what could be improved what things are it's not a hundred percent perfect they're just 99.9 percent perfect something else that's enriched five foot nine percent perfect throttle response for low 4000 revs not great let's go up to fourth gear 3000 rounds he doesn't wake up to four grams now i suspect it's just thanks to the viewer for the stuff we're going to be mentioned another thing i don't like is i don't know why this pike doesn't have a real hooker he's not a hugger at all , I don't know if it's an optional extra but that really hit it, it just gets full of shit now we're at work the other night to do the electronics video well they got their backs look at the rear shock it's absolutely disgusting , there's like a little flap on the swap is to protect me you know the twiddle relaxes on the crash but the whole freeloader just absolutely gets covered in shit all you need is a little p I dream hugger there and that will be fully protected, what I really don't like and what I'm Only 95 percent correct is the front brake.
I don't know why after years of development the GSXR still suffers with poor front brakes. I mean they threw Brembos at the problem a few years ago but the actual power of them is okay it's just leaving nothing nothing nothing at all that when you want to go for your brakes you want them there right away and then they're progressive , you don't want to wait a good inch until they even start to kick in I know people have changed the pickups and make it a little better but it still doesn't fix it so you know it's something that definitely needs to be addressed and if it were mine I would have I have to fix it, I don't know if it's the master cylinder, maybe something. braided lines but needs tidying needs tidying up I actually moved to go completely now because there's not even a bit too far but if you don't have it there let's go back it's going to crush your fingers. and you're not going to be able to give the full ks pitch when you need it that's a problem the front brake needs a dressing oh haha there are bumps down here and you look at this suspension it just laughs yeah sliding over the bumps its bumpy but i dont know because i have the bff jeez fast and that brings me to the next thing i love about this guy the engine is a masterpiece the vvt valve timing has given it great mid range and also you've got the top end wack it's awesome this is about 200 stopping power on the crankshaft on this bike but because it has that VVT it also has that midrange so if you don't know there are ball bearings in the cams that they're basically under centrifugal force I don't know what revs you do I'm guessing it's around eight thousand you can feel it start to kick but those bearings will move and advance the cam timing to give you maximum power so below 8,000 cam timing is for a good mid-range above 8,000 changes to be about top end performance facing Li has like two bikes in one is like the Honda valve verbal tolerance to have the cars that it's been around for absolutely dunce it's like that but it's the first time it's been used on a production sport bike and it's such a simple system with the ball bearings you know it doesn't add Mass it's not a heavy system it's great there is Suki engineers, maybe lute geniuses, who came up with that and it was lifted straight off the MotoGP bike, so it's real MotoGP technology.
Outside of that, what is that? Like something that had a nasty accident talking about moto gp MotoGP this thing looks almost identical to the GSXR they are the track MotoGP boy and I think Suzuki an outright winner with the styling of this the colours, the look, the appearance. you know it looks 90% exactly the same, which is a fantastic idea. I don't know why yamaha don't do that and have it like the m1 and then a while honda don't make blinders more like CV I bad people we love MotoGP style bikes they are beautiful just make it your way watch GP road bikes jump and you're going to please the masses and Suzuki has done it and it was you know it's great it's a masterpiece the looks of these things are absolutely fantastic we have a party so is the fit and finish of this is that they have gone above and beyond normally zoo keys look a bit cheap in certain areas but the attention to detail they have really worked hard on this bike and it really shows that they wanted to take back the sporty white crown with this and you can say they have really gone to town even as the fairing and screen bolts have flat head bolts just for max you know aerodynamics and all the blocks on the ferry are flat to save weight because Dino makes small things like that.
I just thought of everything. I mean, look at even that GSXR is lit. The small badge at the bottom of the watches is illuminated. threw a lot of good ff stuff with him for his proper fuel gauge proper fuel gauge on this which is very rare in sportsmen. I don't know why and at one time jocks didn't have a fuel gauge just in this day and age, but they don't. this has a very stable feel it just lays flat in corners it's not the lightest sport trainer that's a bit where it's a little careful it's not the lightest sport trainer out there but it's stable it handles exceptionally well go buy a minute yeah , at that sweet spot it's on power above 8000 revs it lights up your life it's a missile it's absolutely a missile it's a fast second gear yeah that engine is amazing i have level 4 traction control and this takes me to another one of my complaints the traction control is the link to the anti wheelie so the more control you have the less it really is its a tier 1 traction which will basically allow you to pull huge wheelies and i think you might actually Fitting on the bike with level 1 w traction without too much trouble, it's almost dead, that's one level up, as you saw before, so I want my answer to you in isolation.
Indian traction patrols. Many bikes do this. It's not just logistics, it's common. Make it a separate system so you can turn it off without having to put the touch control down so the shop can quiet down and you can't go on like this. above ten thousand revs is the gearbox the gearbox i keep saying
suzukigets i dont know the uzuki gearboxes are some of the best out there i dont know why the zookie can get a place in the gearbox other manufacturers they fight to conquer all things but this is one of those bikes that's a flawless gearbox finding neutral is just so you know you want to put yourself in neutral it's there I've never had a problem finding an engine on this it's so easy let's slip away a Pheo this is a little tight another what's great is it has folding mirrors which a lot of new bikes don't fold easily but while on the mirror thing the bad thing about mirrors is if the indicators aren't on them anymore , they have been configured. now so the go6 always has built in mirrors and indicators good look lockers look at this this is i can't see but i could still see the screen on this bike that's a great thing about this screen the contrast It's so good on her.
Even with that sun on my face, I can still make out the clocks. It is another victory for Amstrad.
