Super Tricky French Advance Variation with SO MANY TRAPS (for Black)Jun 21, 2022
hi everyone my name is jonathan trance and today i wanted to share with you here on twitch it's going to be a little different today i'm going to show you a
trickycheat you can play as
blackif your opponent plays the French Swap I actually just playing this game offline and i really wanted to share it with you guys because it's one of those openings where there's a
trickycapture line and every time i get it and win i think every game i've ever had it at least five times now you don't always get it, but if you don't, it's usually because something really cool is going on and a lot of people were asking about it, so let's dig into it first of all.
I just want to show you the game I played, I guess it was two hours and I don't know why I said I'm studying this game. but here we go I played this game on it yeah I'm going to hide that notation just f or a minute here we can get back to that but it's the French exchange and in this position you know you set up c5 you play normally and then Knight to f3 , the main move is Queen to b6 and the main idea for Black in this opening is usually to put a lot of pressure on that depth, usually tonight one way or another he can get to f5 and the main idea is to put as much pressure pressure on the center immediately as possible however I like this move Bishop to d7 and after here I played this other tricky move you guys know the trick after this really tricky move I like not to play the main move which is Queen to b6 and not the secondary move which is to take and then play Queen to b6 I like this very complicated move from the rook to c8 and this is a strange move nobody plays this move so most players opponents are already ruled out, however the main idea now is to be able to take and play the knight to win the bishop pair and so every time I get this opening that's exactly what Happens that the castle I take here and play Knight to b4 and this is already really good for
blackit's not the kind of thing I think white should really be aiming for and we're going to get this guy so most people are going to call here and go to take the bishop it's a little surprising that a lot of people have gone against me which is just a free trade just go and you're going to win that rook and yeah they obviously need to block like this you'll take and then another mistake they tend to committing is after a move like Knight to e7, a lot of people go here, which is fine, but after h6, most people I think actually play Queen to b6, but h6 actually attracts another. white mistake in this kind of position he should stay here on this diagonal go somewhere back here but most people will end up coming back here you get this all the time where g5 and here too start queen to b6 is probably decent also gives you tremendous pressure not just in the middle because you're threatening to play g4 but you also have the idea of pushing on this side and putting a lot of pressure on it and I think if we really fire up the engine really fast it will say something like yeah , this is just that this is really bad, yeah, if they don't, they don't stay on this day.
I can do anything if they come back here, you play g5 and yeah, yeah, people fall for it all the time, but you don't have to. to say if they play it this way, which you'll probably get in this exact position, you'll have people cancel most of the time, you're going to take the bishop, you have two bishops and it's totally fine for black so I like when i like when that happens however in this game my opponent saw it coming and you know alot of times i do this so a3 is a very good move now i can never play knight to b4 and you know they just prevented me from doing my thing ok now i have another idea first i take them take back Queen b6 totally normal and now because my bishop is on d7.
In fact, I'm threatening to win a pawn. Some people will give it up, which may be okay. Keep it deep and the way to do it is with this bishop move to c2 and this is where the fun begins. That's why I wanted to show you this line. I don't know what they would play with us. audience today, so it's nice. In fact, I can ask them what they would play here as blacks and see what their ideas are. There are probably a lot of correct moves, but I don't know if you've never seen this before.
I don't know if you would play what I played in this game today. The king e7 was not: my choice was not my choice. Knight g5, so Black must move. Black must move 9h. You are saying that h5. to move here white just played bishop to see, and the bishop here actually sometimes becomes a tactical target and that's not necessarily the best square 97 seems the most natural move to the right 97 maybe you'll go to f5 maybe you'll go g6 97 totally normal move the bishop to b4 hang a bishop knight to d4 it's definitely something that comes on the radar quite a lot has quite a bit isn't quite right in this one it's going to be part of the idea however we can improve this we can do this move actually better than it is 94 win 94 is a very typical move in these types of positions 9 h6 is suggested, this also seems like a totally normal legit idea.
Queen a5. I don't want to move the lady again. He's already doing a good job. special until pool B so I didn't move the queen again this is close this is very very close to the idea of how to improve this and you could possibly do it right now if I played the move g5 g 5 that's the move g5 a and Candido we are eating with a group of 11 holy cow greeting and Khan, you know? Hope you had a great stream and thanks for qualifying with a group of 11 yeah look and Candido they've actually been raiding quite a bit and if you'll just join us we've just shown this lecture here and just played this move bold g5 and i is kind of one of these weird under the radar moves and it's interesting because there are actually two pieces they can take but they both have a liability that both pieces are overworked if you take the night I actually had once you can just take care of the night it was the defender of the deep and now you're in this and this becomes a target and I had a game and it made my opponent even worse because after the knight to c3 which seems pretty normal it just I forced this queen into this pin and that is why I say that the bishop on c2 becomes a tactical target. attack this thing and i was able to win this game t The other thing i guess people could try in a position like this is here but i think black actually has a strong move in this position and you can also play Queen to b3 where if ever trade you fold and you're on the rook and if you don't trade we're threatening moves like rook to c1 to take out this guy's defender so yeah thanks guys for coming since the raid and thanks for all the supporters so something like this is already tremendous for black so the knight really shouldn't take if the bishop takes then you hang up the whistle and what tends to happen is because of these threats like here.
I had a game where someone did something similar to this and they just gave up a tower, so I had a game on this as well. I think they castled and I think they lost their rook. it's like this even if neither of you can take what you're rea What you're doing is you're provoking this move h3 and I think H you know you can continue you can continue aggression like this but now but now you now we did quite a bit side eeeh now I hit them with quite an idea Knight takes d4 and we'll see by playing g5 and h3 we've actually made this idea much stronger so most people will recover with a knight.
I've never seen anyone win back with a queen but if they do, at the very least you can take here and this really gets interesting because white can play here and I think but I think actually black has a lot of good options, five seems Ok, I think the computers preference is actually Knight to e7 for some reason, but something like this leads to some interesting gameplay. where you make sure your rook doesn't get trapped, it kind of creeps up there for a bit, maybe you can't get it after the second trade, but it ends up being fine for black, but no one has ever played. that against me and in the database we are still in like a hundred game territory so like a hundred times they win back with a knight like five times they seize the queen and we're already in the territory we all take with a knight and now you follow with the bishop to c5 and here I've had this five times I've had this position five times no one has ever played the right move against me and you know I play other players who are rated 2300 or higher none of them has found the right move here, so here's a challenge how to know this from white's perspective, there are
many, many candidate moves, there are knight moves and bishop moves, and they can, like, there are so many moves here , what would they play with white when the light takes the queen? you don't have the do we have the immediate rook take c1 we have to take on c2 first oh ok so yeah on this line oh yeah yeah ok so actually i've gotten into this let's take a quick look here let's take a quick look here so it goes like this and then oh no it just goes like this because if you take here King d2o attacking your rook this is still to get the Queen back oh that's funny that's funny that's funny , yeah, you actually want to get the Queen back and it's good for black, that's funny, yeah there's a lot. of
traps, lots of
traps, so yeah, it was actually a good question because I didn't think about it, what would they put on the horse?
However guys it's suggested that Bishop III is definitely a candidate move definitely a candidate move 92 definitely being suggested a good candidate move so yeah I think other moves I've seen include night f 3 and night to be three as well and only one of these is the correct castling i haven't seen but it's a correct candidate so you're giving up the piece you're just going to get the piece back and get cancelled, that also seems like a good candidate, move the knight to c3 , yeah so there are a lot of moves where you might just get back the piece you know I think these are all reasonable but only one is correct and only one will save white here white has to be incredibly incredibly careful here and even now no one who has played has found it so i am not going to say exactly what it is but i will show the game in game my opponent played Knight to b3 and i have had this position twice so twice of my opponents decided to play Knight to b3 and they both ended the same way and I didn't even play the best moves but I guess I didn't. i played best play twice but now watch out he went here and i think here i didn't play best play anymore which is funny because i've had this game before i've had this position twice and both times i played here , which obviously wins, but yeah Dyo is on the ball Dyo the cheater is on the ball the rook takes c2 is the strongest move and then comes the next one so yeah I mean this is just lights out that's just killer I mean there's really nothing I can do here so the job requires C - I mean it's the game about my two g times I've gone here that threatens the checkmate and the two times that my opponent has played here both times i played here once my opponent resigned in this position that was this game one time i had an opponent who played here i took here and then they resigned because the queen is pinned and you are going to get checkmated like this i mean this is how fast it can go wrong and it's i You instantly know checkmate right here on the board so here's the game I played today it actually ended here and I've had it twice so that's just a little indication of how fast Knight f3 can go downhill it's the other normal move that looks like a good responsible move you know you're going to go here but it suffers from the same issue that after taking here we're going to be able to play this we can do now or I think we can potentially look at the same type of sacrifice now percent sure why this wouldn't work in this exact position but this is already going to say completely lost and if h so once here if here like all these moves are going to win if here you're giving them time for the queen d4 but obviously that should win if here so this place like g3 whatever you know looks like its going to be a very similar story if they end up taking here so its going to win as well this is the absolute strongest move where if here I guess we have all kinds of threats and I think this is the strongest move Bishop Bishop to g3 is actually the strongest move obviously taking here should win taking here should win everything should end up winning so Knight f3 is in Actually a big mistake and this is the vampire chicken gambit.
I'm not the first to do it, but it's just one of those that I like. like these gambits where you really catch people sleeping and this one is nice and there's no real downside to playing this like you get good position even if they play another laneso there's absolutely no downside to playing this the most interesting thing to me is this line, it's like the most deceptive and violating line of anyone. I've never seen anyone do this and it's like almost zero games in the database seem right to many of you. it's great because there's already a trick here like this it's bad for white it's like minus 1 or something worse but ok check it out so you've hung this pawn ok young man this guy and now I think most of the people you meet, most people would just do it. play here because that rook defense 92 right that's what you guys are saying 92 defend your rook this is actually a mistake because i can play here you don't have time to like keeping my queen or anything because this other guy is hanging like that Even if you come back here, now I can choose which bishop I want to take, so this is not correct.
You can play this line if you want to trap with white if you have this with white somehow and someone is trying to trap you. he can play this line Bishop e3 and he can castle and it's a trap delicious rook delicious rook eat it eat it could be 300 Knight B 3 hits you and this is actually called being good for white the problem is that it not only tanks the queen but who is attacking this bishop yeah its all a trap so you come back and they are going to beat this guy and this is actually going to end up being good for white whether you can believe it or not so instead white castles bishop takes d4 and hey, wait a minute, what's up?
What happens? happening just because now they're just gonna take this back this is hanging what's up what they gonna do you know just take me i take your bishop no big deal that if you get Bishop here to b3 easy and how now blacks have to get out of this mess now you have to get out of this mess if you go here we're just going to get this trapped queen back done what blacks are going to do obviously rook to c1 like you like rook to see one you like that black again on top b missing back on top after rook a c1 The idea is that if you take with the bishop you lose this knight so you want to take with the queen , but now we can start taking some of these pieces for example we can take here or we can take the other bishop they know and suddenly black re-emerges on top after whatever happens here it's absolutely crazy and just to show you guys with a computer engine this whole line with bishop to e3 just to give you sort of an indication of how crazy it is so black is better so definitely black is better Knight to be immediately like a problem of after here so 92 just take here so castle don't take oh my gosh you don't want to take don't want to take want to take here and after the rook to a2 this amazing amazing move i guess you can yes you can take and after that go here the rook a c1 is the game winner i guess you can even play here which is ok but we are up to c1 how beautiful is that yeah something like that is going to be too ok take the other guys ok but this is probably the best move, yeah, kind of like that and good for black, good for black, so I mean, that's fascinating.
I love these lines because it's absolutely unbelievably fascinating, but that brings us to what's after the queen to b6 g5 looting the night what's the best move the best move for white is actually playing the knight move to e2 and the idea of the knight to e2 this is the ideal square for the knight because we are covering the g3 square which is very very important so in the lines where we take here and want to get our bishop back now we can't do it so that this is the best way for white to play after we take care of ourselves now they will we need to move and they have prevented us from playing what we want to do and what has been working in all the other lines black can now follow up and this is absolutely the best and it's like very close to equality, maybe it's good for black. maybe it's good for white composition.
Players have no idea, but you play this move f6 and they are in real danger if they take, so they can't take. White needs to start developing some things and I don't know which side you prefer but with the King on f1. and the F file opens. I really like Black's chances in this line if you take right away we go here, we castle and you're already in danger because the knight jumps so fast that White has to go here and then us. recapture there's one more trick here it looks like humans have gone here i don't think this is really the best move and the reason why the last trick the last trick we need to be aware of is after knight to a4 i think black they can already make him play Queen to c6 but Knight to a4 is definitely the reason to put tonight here so be careful because the knight wants to go to a 4 he is trying to remove the defending bishop so yeah when you have that Bishop there, the King is knocking. if you want to make sure white try to eliminate the defender but after here immediately queen to c6 is a very good idea and yes if they take here we will lead you to know one of these things and it should be ok i think its better here and the idea is that now we've got rid of this so now there will never be any of these double attacks on the bishop here, we're never going to push the Queen away and what white wants to do is take the bishop and then play the Knight to a4 where the Queen to c6 won't be a threat because the knight will be defended and then you know how to make a mistake let's make a mistake here now it won't be that easy to stay connected with this guy in this Knight is protected so if you move away you lose your bishop so I think so white should try this it seems like it never happened but that's what he should try and then black just needs to know he's trying he's trying to take and play here so you play a common move or this and the game continues. you follow it you bring the knight in you put the rope on f8 you cancel or don't Castle depending on the situation and you play in this position and I think theoretically it's the best thing white can do if he goes for this trap e line then you can see 0-0 I love Black's possibilities the open F-file and the bishops on this diagonal give us a great opportunity for a big attack, our so-called bad bishop will probably be traded, things will go to the F-file and this will be a tremendous attack for the black so this one is really cool there's no real downside to playing this way bishop to d7 and rook to c8 it's just a really good line and yeah once again if they castle you go here and win the pair of bishops and if they play the more adventurous exciting way you take a couple of times and after they save their pond g5 first followed by this nice sacrifice and a big massive attack and most people won't play the best moves if they do it's the same but you still have amazing chances and if i play anything else it just won right away and in my exp experience here they always play something else no one plays this well so i hope you guys enjoyed it if you did please this will be uploaded to youtube i think so thanks for being here darling this is kind of fun. guys in the live audience let me know if you like these lectures on twitch and you guys can let me know if you like the live lectures in the youtube comments below so hit like share subscribe like always and i'll see you again for more videos on these awesome tricky catch lines
