Strictly Favourites Rose & Giovanni On Their Special Barrier Breaking Routine | This MorningNov 22, 2021
theirdance last week brought us all to tears after Rose and Giovanni performed a silent
routinein support of the deaf community, but fingers crossed, fingers crossed, can they make it all the way to the floor again? Let's take a look at your dance floor. dynamic so far wow beautiful journey and now
giovanniare with us good
morningto both of you good morning
roserose rose you are so good honestly i saw that dance last saturday and i got goosebumps it was just amazing i don't know how you dance without relying on the music how you do it well um i count a lot in my head accounting and it's also
giovanniwith me so i actually get my counting from him too so i stay tuned with giovanni and um i take a course you keep doing it again and then and then you muscle memory does it and then timing is kind of daddy in my body yeah yeah also during the dance you can see she turned me on too so I give her timing while we're dancing obviously when you do boom we're connected so it's nice you know it's easier but it's not easy e
specially when you dance like the fast step which is fast but for the other dances yeah we really are a lot and she's working a lot on muscle memory, so she remembers during the dance. remember what you have to do by counting because if you can't like you know from one to eight and you run out of hook you just run out of music so yeah she's working harder than anyone even me sometimes so What if you have a secret? touches or something we tried we tried yeah it didn't work it distracts me too much because it's like I have a lot on my mind if I have too much information it's too much I'm pretty simple I like to keep it simple yeah pink where do you start where Do they both start on a Sunday morning, a Monday morning?
I guess when you start with the
routine, what's the first thing you learn? the steps so we start on monday we start learning all the steps and then on tuesday we go back and hopefully do the steps you have to remember that the steps don't happen often so we haven't used what we have to do again and then we got technical but for us the difficulty again is I managed to do the steps to the music so we have to repeat and repeat all the time over and over and like Russ said she doesn't really relate to music, it's just more muscle memory, how is it for you?

strictly favourites rose giovanni on their special barrier breaking routine this morning...
I must have learned a lot in
thisprocess, I love it, it's just that it gives me a challenge as a teacher, you know I've been doing the program for a long time, so I repeat sometimes. it's just repeating you but with rose i'm actually learning how to learn both as a teacher and as a person and you just give me a boost to hopefully make it to the finals yeah oh i'm absolutely predicting it here. and now you're coming to the final i mean i was a little disappointed in craig last week giving them a nine which was just disgusting well listen he's not this weekend this week because paul craig has done a cover of the big cynthia arrivo he's joining them that's exciting no he's exciting yes she's a huge star it should be nice to meet her. her, yeah, it would be nice to meet her, um, is there a moment in this process where you saw that the public understood, I guess, and you got involved, and your message has just gotten through, I mean the statistic that didn't really take us by surprise but it was just amazing it's the 488 per cent increase in internet searches for the british sign language association that must be amazing i feel really great because for so long deaf people are always isolated and not really a part of society so the more people understand the more diverse everyone will be everyone will be able to communicate with each other the amazing thing is you're inspiring so many people and we actually had a girl call ed maisie sly on the show and she told you said this on friday rose and giovanni are going to be on the show do you have any message for them? oh well i really hope they win because if they win all hearing people will be flabbergasted that a deaf person won yeah oh i think we had a just lovely time yeah how does that make you feel?
I feel like a child, I never had anything like that, so it's very good that the students understand that a deaf child can have someone to look at. until and, hopefully, and not just for the kids, but also for
theirparents because, like my mom when she found out she was deaf, she felt so alone that she felt like she had no idea about deaf culture or the deaf community, so there is a conception of what style of death. growing up in society is pretty limited so when i see someone like me in caring they say oh ok she can do what she wants to do it's um it's society that makes it hard to be deaf no a deaf person there is nothing wrong with being deaf I have no problem with that, yes, it is deciding that it makes it more difficult for me, yes, yes, is it good, but I hope to be in the program as you said, I hope to be in the program and, um giving a role model like rolling like rose being on the show will open up more uh more dope for everyone you know yeah you would say it normalizes it but furthermore it feels like it does it does it a disservice like it was more important than that and i think last week's routine showed it was an amazing moment i felt like i was in your world you did it at that moment it didn't feel that way to you when you did it you knew you knew it was part of something you were probably involved in something quite
specialI think it was a special moment for me because a lot of times you always see a deaf person getting along and doing what they do which is normal but you don't see how much hard work there is behind, so I think the styling moment was to show that this is what i do when i die this is the amount of work i do but i still do it with a smile on my face so i think that's my kind of message and that's what a lot of deaf people go through yeah , I mean you have the best partner. true giovanni 100 and you know how to do that even 10 seconds of silence i am a professional dance i have been doing for 23 years even 10 seconds of silence was so hard because in those 10 seconds you have to think about your steps you have to think about it you have to keep the pace you gotta do it so i thought now i understand what he's been doing in a matter of seconds yeah the 10 seconds was just powerful you know it's just it was just it's just really really really good fast pace this weekend go by fast this weekend how it looks looks very good i'm very very happy very pleased this musical is weak and it's huge and
strictlyas you know and we put um anna from frozen so i can't wait , yes I can't wait well tomorrow 6 35 tomorrow we can't wait thank you very much for joining us thank you
