Stencils & Distress Inks with EileenMar 17, 2022
the products i have used for this project are a white linen cardstock circle die cut on my boss machine using a large circle nesting skill die two
stencilsone from the distance point of a set called splodge over splatters and the other called Oriental Lily from Sweet Daddy uses
stencilswith a gorgeous bright imaginative craft medium called berries along with various colors of
distressed ink. I have about six really nice colors. Other items you'll need are some low-tech masking tape, a spatula, eight mixing tools, and a fine black line. Pen I also have a new kitty litter box filled with water along with a dash of washing up liquid to fill in the stencils and I finish with them plus some kitchen paper to dry them with.
I have taken this body mask. or one of them anyway from the sets and applied some duct tape to the side to hold it down. wait e the stencil down and push the ink through try a beautiful blue tumbled glass color you could use by dry cutting if you don't have a blending tool you may find that as easy as chevy blinds another lipstick color favorite and worn as you can see pretty subtle it will go in the water and im taking another one of the same set i think you get about four more put together three or four now dont think its for some seedless canning now just on the edge there and i dont gotta take this one down im just using this one to fill in some spaces but i hold it tight even though i press a little hard so it doesnt budge its a mustard seed no he can dont worry too much about the colors he you wear well, the Whelan color and everything else, yeah obviously it's good to wear, but I only wear the colors that I like and if they clash a little bit. yeah so what because these
inksare transparent you really do get some lovely combinations with the colors you use on top of each other some fantastic shades Wow a little bit of blue but we're almost done with this stencil anyway what do you think? not bad i can hear you cry you've been a bit lost let's get on with something else i'll say one thing if you make a mistake no butterfly it's ok we're all out but not in this job it wouldn't be much like but I won't try.
Is it bright enough? Yeah, so let's move on to something else so you can see it and then I'll apply the other template. There's a magnetic sheet here and I always use one of these where I'm using brass stains. the drawing stencil is by sweet Papa stencils and the design is by Tracy Dutton of Lavinia stamps it's called oriental lily and it's lovely why are we going there? place the stencil on top we feel that it sticks to the magnetic sheet and holds it in place gives a little more grip works with a lot of grip and tension and then we start by putting a piece of peel off some of the adhesive that goes on the side that they go on one specific user and it will take them off used a little too much tape in there mm-hmm not really cheap, but I'm sure you want to take your time and be much more efficient with it than I am.
Medium brightness, you can see that it is bright red. I changed my mind regarding the previous one that I showed you earlier. This is really a lovely color. I need to flip the template. so I have the thinnest parts of the image on top, I have found that if I apply the glossy medium or any other paste to the thinnest areas first and bring them down, the stencil has less of a chance and the paste or is less likely to the glitter the middle seeps under the stencil ok that's the theory let's try it so let's go with the trowel spatula real thick and then i'll carefully remove it and remove it and put it back on the pet I like a bit of dimension with my medium when I'm using stencils other than the ink of course so don't really take it all off now to take it off one turn in the container on this side and inside the container all together now on top one and inside the container and then holding it very carefully lift it up will work on the hinge rock and roll look at that looks good pleased with that carefully nice there i want to stain it now i would cry in the water thank you very much my little helper clean the paper and there you can take a look at it maybe we can have a close up mr. director some too many problems I can't do this right now because I need the stencil to wait to dry and this takes half an hour to three quarters I'll probably leave it for an hour just to make sure the medium gloss is dry and then when it's all matte, and put it in another circle or two and then with this fine line black pen I'll highlight all the smears, all the shapes I made in the ink and that makes them disappear. a bit more, they don't exactly look bland now but you know what I mean anyway, enough rambling for me, thanks for looking today, I really enjoyed it, hope you find it useful and I'll be checking it out. again very soon bye for now
