Squishy Makeover: PEOPLE

Feb 23, 2020
Hello It's Me. My face. First, two things. If this is your first time watching the new intro, that means you skipped last week's video and now I'm mad at you. I'm just kidding, but yeah, I already talked about the new intro last week. Second thing, oh, today I'm on camera, I'm just here face to face instead of doing everything with my hands, keep things fresh, keep them on their toes, you know, so let's get to the point, this video is a change of soft image. but notice that it is not a

makeover

to fix your squishies, it is just a normal one because today I am not going to use broken squishies from my viewers.

In fact, I bought them. The reason I wanted to make these particular squishies is because they are human. They are

people

, so when I saw these I got very interested in trying to decorate them, oh how little did you know. I'm not going to do all six in this video because that would take me two months, so I'll just do three. These three only took me a month, but what you're seeing now are actually duplicates of the ones I painted because I already finished painting them, but no spoilers before I get into this. I just want to warn you that this video was a struggle you are going to see some things and this is going to be an experience, I think we should just skip to the

makeover

s, although here are the makeovers, so I'm going to do this one first, the face is a little creepy, I think it's his eyes. and how they stick out like a fish, also accentuated by some fish lips, her outfit seems a little bland, she's dressed like a business suit, her overall design to me is a little drab, though of the three squishies I'm working on Today, I think this was the nicest one to start with.

More Interesting Facts About,

I love that hairstyle, so let me start destroying it completely, so today it's going to go under the knife or, you know, the scissors, at first I'm just cleaning up the dirty seams. and then I'm just going to soften all the details on her dress because I want to change the style of it and also remove those fish lips. At this point I was thinking yeah, I can probably paint something better than those, so let me just cut away. the ones outside my trust are disgusting and look at this, I can still recognize her lips in the debris, look at those little grubs, so now that she's been silenced, I'm going to take her some sandpaper to rough it up a bit and get her ready. for the paint it looks like it's had a rough day, no, so now to fill in some of those cuts that I made, I'm going to use some puffy paint to try to seal all of that up and cover the tears a little better afterwards.

A few layers of that, it looks like an alien zombie creature of some kind. Now to cover up all that mess, I'm just going to paint a base coat with some flat white fabric paint to make it easier for me to create my design. above okay so I think all these squishies I'm painting today are based on dolls lol. I had no idea what they were when I bought them. I found them on eBay randomly and one day I had them for months. I just saw one of the dolls and thought that's where these things came from.

What was that? Not that it really matters, but I thought I'd point out that I do know I'm going for broke now. Oh, I'm not used to painting skin tones, so I was struggling a little to find the right shade. This paint is actually my chocolate ice cream color. It doesn't look very good on the skin. I know, it's so weird it's just a little bit. a little off, I think it's too gray and she looks a little dead, half dead, dying, so that was my first mistake, but wait, now I'm going to move on to her hair and it's a really fun hairstyle, so I went with a multiple hairstyle. kind of carnival color scheme, the way I painted it doesn't really make any sense because the colors in her buns are in completely different orders to the hair growing out of her scalp, but I didn't really care, I was just turned around. crazy with hair.
This was when I had so many hopes and dreams about these soft memories. Once I created the different stripes of color, I then used very thin layers of paint and blended them together and you know what? her hair now really reminds me of those multicolored alpaca softies, maybe subconsciously that's why I thought this color scheme would look good on her hair. I don't know who knows why I do the things I do, but this took forever, maybe an hour and an hour. Half just on her hair, I was so interested in her, I swear, and it looks exactly how I wanted it, so I'll move on to her clothes, no more business casual.
I'm going to make her outfit as fun and colorful as she is. her hair, so I painted the top half pink and then for the skirt, I painstakingly painted stripes of color, it looks like a circus tent, which also took forever. Wow, I was so interested in this girl. Side note, this background color is very green, that's cool, okay? so now I decided to pay tribute. I hated the way I said that to her past self and I'm adding a lot of gold details to her outfit since she had a lot of gold on her person before, but of course I'm wearing a much brighter, more yellow gold that will stand out a little more oh, this is kind of satisfying and her outfit is really starting to take shape.
I'm piling on some gold paint to give it some rockin' gold boots and at this point I'm really happy with it. She looks exactly how I imagined her and I was having a lot of fun right now. Remember her like this. This is the best she'll ever look, so I'm starting to try painting her face in the meantime. I'm waiting for the first coat of paint to dry. I'm going to go around and make a few small tweaks here and there, which isn't always the best idea. Oh, shoot, but I do it anyway. I got a little anxious and I started with one of her pupils and then I realized that the white was not dry, but calm down, wait a little longer.
I ended up adding some little white ruffles to her sleeves and then a little white collar. It's so cute I was having too much fun. When putting this outfit together and avoiding this situation I even added some little white bows to her butts, her butts aren't the cutest so my goal with the face was to make it less creepy than the original, considering the original I thought that would be It'll be pretty easy, honestly, this is fine. I should have added some eyebrows, put on some eyelashes, a simple smiley face and you know what you've done, that's just leave it, okay, leave it please, but of course I over complicated the design, oh god.
Yeah, I'm laughing now, so this was my first try with the face. She looks like a demented muppet, so I added a lower lip and some gold eyeshadow. Why, my God, is she now a demented muppet with self-esteem issues, so I tone it down? eye shadow and while I was up there I just fixed the edges of her hair just take a second to think about what I've done life is full of regrets so I thought you know the problem must be the color of her lips so I tried the red his lips look like a mustache the problem must be that he has no eyelashes he is not getting better maybe the problem is that he has no reflections in his eyes this is a rare fish i am starting to realize how difficult it is to make those huge eyes Googly don't look scary, this is in real time right now, I was literally sitting there holding this thing looking at it, regretting it so much that I was trying to create a super detailed design on a face and using fabric paint is not very easy to get those little details, it's like painting with glue, but I've worked with it enough to this point that I thought I could make this happen, my confidence was my downfall and as I keep trying and I keep changing things, the gross stuff.
The layers of paint are piling up and piling up, leave it at that, seriously, you've done enough, but am I satisfied? No. I'm going to keep fighting this. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore, so maybe. It's just that her eyes are too big and circular, so I thought that putting eyelids on her might make her look a little less scary, but I had repainted this area so much that it was starting to look very thick. Without makeup she looks like an Old Man, now at this point I was starting to get fed up so I added a few more things and then ended up doing the rest of the changes off camera.
I don't want to show it, it's so bad that you guys are leaving. To judge me here, she is absolutely horrible at least she can stand a little better so she has that going for her okay 100. I think the original looks better if it's your first time seeing one of these makeovers, the Things generally go a little better. but this time I just failed miserably, but I think the biggest problem is all the weird, nasty spots on his face every time I changed it and it really just emphasizes that shine which doesn't help, it looks like he's sweating, but let's not do that. negative, let's be positive, okay, a positive side, I really like the hair and the outfit, but they are not enough to make up for that.
I mean, if you look at it from a distance, she looks kind of cute, but if you get closer, it's like, oh, wow, I'm going to stop bothering her now, it's not her fault, I know it's hard, but let's move on, like this that now I will try this girl who I think, in general, is much uglier to begin with than the first one. soft, that's a good thing that gives me hope. I think she's supposed to be a baby or something. I think this is supposed to be her pacifier, but it's flesh colored so it looks like a puffer fish.
Yes, that's no. pattern on her dress, I mean, am I missing something here? What's that? And I think her torso in general has a really strange shape. Let me see if I can improve this. She flew away. She doesn't want what she happened to him. the last girl who passed him comes back first. I'm going to start by cutting off that pacifier. I'm also reshaping her torso and I'm bringing in some memory foam because I thought it would be cute to add a little ponytail. head of it, so I'm just sculpting that out of memory foam.
Oh I also wanted to say that I posted another unboxing video where I opened up a bunch of used squishies that were sent to me for

squishy

makeovers, that was a couple of weeks ago but at the time I posted I had already been working on these for a week, I think I'll still use the comments from that video to choose the next batch of squishies, but that will be the next makeover video. Here is her ponytail. I'm going to do a super high, off-center side ponytail. There we go, I'm going to glue it with fabric fusion and then I'm going to place it with a rubber band to let it dry.
She's having a great time once this is done, I could tell. I hadn't sanded it yet, I usually try to sand them before this stage because sanding can be quite an aggressive and harsh process and we wouldn't want to damage it, yeah, for that to happen, so I had to trim away the dried glue and redo it. That whole process until you've sealed additional pieces with paint, the joint will be a little fragile. I'm going to start painting over this with a random color of puff paint, so I'm just going to cover that exposed foam completely so I can create. a more fluid look with the rest of the

squishy

and once that's fixed I'm going to cover the entire torso too and oh look I ran out of green so it's time for the purple to step in and once all of this dries, I'm going to use a white base coat again, so I'm creating a nice clean fresh start, don't ruin it by jumping on the skin, I'm giving it a tanned complexion and oh, I forgot to do the back, okay?
Wait, nevermind, oh, today is bug day, I guess, so let me finish this base coat, speeding up, speeding up, working back into the skin and this is another one of my food colorings. I think I use this color for vanilla cake, so I have. a cake face, but this time I went ahead and adjusted that color slightly so it looked a little more natural, so it's a little better. I'm going with purple hair for this one. I was going to make her brunette, but then I decided that you know what I see brown hair every day, so why not choose something a little wild?
You know, the ponytail looks interesting because her hair in the back is still going down when it should be going towards the ponytail, but that's okay, let's just pretend. That makes sense for the color of the dress. I chose a mint green. I thought it would look good with lavender hair. I basically wanted to use the opposite color scheme than what I used for the first girl. Oh, that reminds me that it actually was. Pretty sick for much of this process, so can I blame my mistakes on being sick? Will you let me do that? No, this girl's outfit is starting to take shape right now.
I'm adding all the white areas of her outfit and I'm making a flower pattern on the bottom of her dress, the funny thing is I wasn't actually as excited about this girl's design, you know, as the first girl I was. so excited about her, okay, sorry, I'm going to stop talking about it now, so I'm done. Making several changes to her outfit as I went, I also decided to add metallic silver for details since the other girl had some special little metallic moments. It's only fair to give him some too. We have to be fair with our squishies because that definitely matters. My favorite part of this design is probably the dark green bow.
I don't know, I just think it really ties everything together literally, so once I added that, I really started to like her outfit a lot more, I also gave her some little green shoes. to match and I'm cleaning up the areas of his skin and finally it's time to work on the face, you know, just with art stuff in general, it's easy to imagine what you want or just sit back and say, well, I would have done this. different and done that and done that and done that but when you really have to sit down and make something happen and create something it's really hard, we're not off to a great start with this face, but after adding some missing details she really came together, so here's the before and after, I mean you.
I know I'm pretty satisfied with this one. I think it's an improvement over the original, but I honestly don't know if the original was that bad or if this is actually decent. Don't know. I think I've been looking at them for too long. I think she's cute. I really love her outfit. Do you know who it reminds me of? Remember my thick siren from always ago. It's her sister. It's strange how the color schemes are so similar. Yes, of course, I bring another awkward looking Squishy of mine, but you know, the chunky mermaid had a full body and face transplant, so she has an excuse, what's your excuse?
So this is the last Squishy I will make, unlike the other two, this one. she has a flat face, which is nice, no googly fish eyes, she's wearing a unicorn headband, they already did that and wow, that's a short dress, wow, you can see her cheeks, save those cheeks, girl, her hair is just a mess of curls, it's like a blown out Shirley Temple, wait. What are those pink circles? Oh, those are hair curlers. Well, now I realized they could have made it so cute. They could have put her in a robe and slippers and then it would make sense.
Let me see what I can do with this, starting with getting rid of it. The skirt I made a discovery, I mean, it's a hole in the butt, okay, that's very immature, I'm sorry, I mean it's there, I'm just cutting it out and trying to smooth it out as much as I can and while I'm at it, I'm going to go ahead and cut off all his hair too. I'm basically starting over with this one, so it looks very naked and edgy here. Wow, I cut a lot of that one out and, whoops, I almost forgot about it.
I'm also going to remove the lips so now we can start repairing some of this with puffy paint and there's a lot of area to cover because I cut a lot so this is going to take a minute. I want to do several layers of paint to make sure the surface is as smooth as possible and wow, that's scary again. I'm covering this with a base coat so this makes it a little easier. Here we go with the skin. I love how I did everything. in exactly the same way and in exactly the same order for all three, makes it wonderfully predictable.
Surprise, he didn't predict that and to him, oh, I just gave it away. For this one I'm going to do a pink skin tone. and yes I'm making this a boy, I already decorated two girls so I thought I'd make one of them a boy. I ended up giving him brown hair, and my original plan was to give him red hair, but I changed my mind because I thought the brown might hide the fact that he had just scalped him completely. I don't know if he really made a difference, but that's what I did. I decided to give him a nice pair of overalls and point out what his butt looks like. a little strange because of the way I had to cut it completely to cover that hole so that his butt was inverted once I was done with the jumpsuit I added the shirt, I should have done that first, I don't know.
What I was thinking in this video, I decided to give it different colored sleeves, like the shirts I like to wear, for some strange reason, I don't know why I have an obsession with shirts like that, I don't know if I do. I hadn't realized this yet, I decided to outline everything with dark blue because I felt the jumpsuit needed more definition, which I think was a good idea, but I don't know, maybe the outlines are too dark or just too much. a lot, so I went back through them and narrowed them down a lot and that definitely helped.
I'm adding a few more details, a little patch on his jumpsuit and then it's time to face him and his face which I didn't have too many problems with. It wasn't much different from the normal faces I make because there weren't any googly eyes that I had to fix so I was able to create a face from scratch which was nice, just a quick note too if you're trying to get fine lines with this paint , the only way to do this is to draw as thin a line as possible, which will probably be a little thick, and then use the background color to thin it out so this face isn't horrible, I don't think so, but after looking at it for a while I decided I didn't want that wide mouth, it looked like a hippopotamus, so I ended up changing it for a more normal smile.
Here is the before and after. a little lukewarm about this, I guess I like it, I don't think this is a huge improvement over what it was, it's cute, I don't hate it, I'm just not that in love with it. that's how I'm normally, he always shows up out of nowhere at the supermarket, at the movies, in your shower, no just kidding, let's not make it creepy, okay, I've had enough of being afraid of my own creations today, like this that he is the only one. that he can't stand it so I have to hold him awkwardly with the judgment in his face, okay, very good, I hope this video entertained you, at least let me know in the poll in the corner if you want me to try it. the other three or if you think I should completely retire from soft

people

anyway, thank you very much for watching and I'll see you next Friday, bye.
