SQUISHIES & SNAKES! Turning YouTubers Into Monsters - Moriah Elizabeth

SQUISHIES & SNAKES! Turning YouTubers Into Monsters - Moriah Elizabeth
clean this up hey grains welcome to

turning

youtubers

into

monsters

creatures episode 3 in this series we take

youtubers

and celebrate their accomplishments and personalities and put them into into this monster thing that I create so in no way is

turning

them into a monster and insult so don't start analyzing things previously we did Sofia Nygaard and simply no logical as you saw from the title today we're going to be looking at Mariah

Elizabeth

for those of you who don't know who Mariah

Elizabeth

is she is a huge creator here on YouTube with over 4 million subscribers is it time for me to both that we're friends I mean look I'm posting a picture this is when we know in New York so who is Mariah

Elizabeth

she is a crafty and artsy youtuber who predominantly works with

squishies

she has three very known series which is squishy makeovers where she transforms busted doob ruined Squishy's that have absolutely no life whatsoever and she turns them into absolutely adorable works of art the other series she has is recreating

squishies

into edible versions of themselves yeah I'm salivating here cuz they look pretty delicious and I have to admit my favorite is definitely the rainbow cake recreation even though it's not her favorite it's definitely way better than anything I can recreate in terms of baking because we all know the salt doesn't do sweet and the third series that she has is a thrift thrift store makeover English I need you today...
squishies snakes turning youtubers into monsters moriah elizabeth
cooperate let's do talkie-talkie today okay okay where she picks up random knickknacks from the thrift store and gives them new life I also have a series of thrift store makeover mostly with sculptures though what I absolutely love about Mariah is her dry sarcastic humor okay alright alright then which is pretty much right up my alley although she does use quite a bit more farting sound effects than I do shape to a pool now that everything's back together so in honor of her today I will use at least one or two farting sound effects maybe inappropriately the other thing that makes more

Elizabeth

very much so Mariah

elizabeth

is the fact that she loves pastel light colors even though personally I am dead batshit you heard me I absolutely love colors so the question is will I be recreating her in a very colorful way heck yeah even though Mariah

Elizabeth

and I are friends she has no idea that I'm doing this so it's kind of a surprise so feel free after this video to go on ahead to her most recent video and let her know that nerdy crafter turned you into a monster and for those of you new to my channel don't forget to subscribe otherwise I will wave a sharp pointy thing at you don't make me do it but I will if I have to and so now the big question is what would Mariah be I am obsessed with sprinkles will she be a unicorn will she be some kind of cat creature or maybe she's going to be a cupcake the answer is none of them a few months ago I asked you on...
squishies snakes turning youtubers into monsters moriah elizabeth
reddit what do you think the base of her creature should be in the comment that really caught my attention cuz I love puns so much dear puns marry me and on reddit Reggio said because Mariah Lisbeth loves her rainbows how about a rain boa so like a really cute boa snake covered in sprinkles and icing and rainbows again if you don't know what a boa is it's a snake do not interpret a snake in any kind of symbolic way I just like puns and that's what I'm going with if you don't like it come here and fight me come on bring it don't fight me I'm pretty scared and so we're going to be

turning

Mariah

Elizabeth

into a snake type creature and of course we're going to be adding a lot of elements if you haven't seen my Sofia Nygaard and simply illogical sculptures there's going to be a lot more going on but first let's start so the first thing I'm going to do is paint the bottom part of the base we're going to be going with pastel colors I figured a light blue color would be just perfect to set the tone after that I'm going to cut with my with my sharp pointy thing and make little scuff marks on the wood and then put liquid sculpey the medium I'm using is a polymer clay and I really love this medium because it is so forgiving think of it as play-doh but more permanent and so once I set the base on top of the wood we're ready to create our snake boa boa snake rainbow sometimes you just gotta get your finger dirty...
squishies snakes turning youtubers into monsters moriah elizabeth
that's what he's snow no no since the idea of the whole sculpture is going to be it very colorful I decided to go with an opal base clay look at that that's so creating that way it won't remove attention from the sculpture itself I'm actually really nervous about the base because I've never really done a white base so fingers crossed we're not doing the wrong thing cuz many of you like saying hey man I don't know we're experiencing this together and also the reason I kind of think that white is suitable is because it reminds me of white sand and since

snakes

are kind of associated with sand why not and as you can see I am using a toothbrush for texture and then making those little sand type indents with my fingers so when it comes to the rain boa I had way too many options and so I'm going with my second option which is a base of the snake being a cookie and for that I'm going to be using my ecru clay but it is such an old piece it is cracking on so many different sites look at that this is just yeah this is not workable I mean look at that you can back it the best way why Wow bust why to revive some applied a little mites that's my Australian accent is to take some baby oil put a couple of drops not too much and work it in it'll get pretty soft and malleable in no time and this is the part that gets me the most nervous ever which is pretty much committing to starting the project and so the biggest advice I can give you is...
that even though I've been playing around with clay for about seven years now I do get scared when it comes to starting a new project but just do it do it just do it once you get into it you'll see that clay is very forgiving and recently I've really been enjoying starting with the head and then making my way down to the body because the head really is the most important part if we look at some pictures of boas you'll see that they really don't have any eyelids or a kind of like a deep brow even though I'm not going anatomically correct I want to make sure that the eyes do protrude because a what makes a snake kind of scary are the eyes even though I think reptiles are pretty cute let me know in the comment section below which animals do you absolutely love that's kind of against what most people think for me it would probably be frogs and so in order to achieve the eye effect I'm going to try to at different eye colors one of them I'm going to be using a pearlescent blue as the whole eye and the other method is going to be pretty much putting a black dot and then creating a kind of lizardy effect again if we look at the pictures either begets a cloudy kind of one color eye or we have that elongated slit what I'm going to avoid the elongated slip and try to do a circle because I still want it to be cute because remember cute and pastries and rainbows and

squishies

as mariah flatback captions and before some of you say I know I know but...
if we have too much Brown it might just look like a chocolate chip which would be kind of cool but I think a blue is going to stand out a lot more simply because the base is also blue so we kind of need to make it pop out somehow and don't worry there's gonna be plenty of brown with chocolate things trust me a few minutes in a tab all right so I've let them dry for about 10 minutes let us start with the plain one first and ooh that is pretty I really love the shimmer on this pearlescent blue turquoise and the second one still pretty all right now for the acute eyes I really hope these ones turn out nicer because I kind of really want to use them oh that is extra cute I don't know how that's gonna look they're cute though and the second one so the best way to test it out is to take one of the eyes and place it see what it would look like oh that is really cute that is really really cute and if we're going a little more cartoony I think I'm gonna go with this one this year seems like a better match if we take a look at these

squishies

she makes Jubilee does make those really cute eyes so we're going to stick with this one and now the idea is to add as much detail as possible onto the face and since I was making the indents for the mouth I realized when looking at pictures of

snakes

they kind of have slightly chubby cheeks so I figured I needed to add a little bit of clay to make that part a little more full by the way if you're like me...
and you're getting a lot of dust prints and finger prints use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and clean it up so you look at that just comes right all right let's be real come over here a little closer a little closer okay do blows back up now if we look at these eyes I have to admit they are absolutely adorable and very innocent looking but let's look at Mariah she's she's always scheming things against her

squishies

and also she has squishy roasting squishy so we're starting with this train wreck we have several things written on it help me please help help me and there's a massive hole in the bottom of it don't go in there which means she has a slightly devious side so I'm going to be adding as you can see just a little bit of the eyelet on top and it to make it look like she has like this devious frown with that little smirk on the mouth perfect expression enough for the cookie texture we're going to be taking a toothbrush and doing a tap a tappa like that tap at the top and it's going to give it this cookie like texture this is where it gets slightly tricky I need a body shape kind of what's the flow body flow where I have access to the back for the majority of the bottom because I need to put some decorations on there so having a swirly type bottom and just a little bit of it sticking out is out of the question also since this is a boa we need to make sure that it can be constricting something in the tail so I need to make...
sure that the tail can stick out as well so for the body I'm going to be using a ruminant paper foil and if I want to be overkill I definitely can use some wire to make sure that whatever position they put it in is not gonna go like it's not gonna flop this flopping is no fun it reminds out of the debtor and the trick to a perfect body is to make sure that you smooth all these seams down off-camera that's pretty much 80% of what I do smooth smooth smooth all day long smooth smooth smooth well I sing this song one eternity later so one of the things I forgot to mention is that as a human grain I love gravity but as a sculptor absolutely despise it because this is how she's supposed to be but even though I put wire and a foil paper the clay is like nah bro let me demonstrate yeah we're getting Droopys supposed to be up here and she's going down here so what we're going to have to do is put a piece of foil paper underneath like this to make sure that she keeps her shape while we're baking her but first time for some more texture here she is so far I really love the texture and the little scale type indents even though it doesn't look 100% like a cookie yet here's why we need to take these things here which are called chalk pastels shave them slightly and then use a fluffy brush and start putting the colors where it would look like a cookie baked and may have gotten some color in the oven oh and one minor frustration I really wanted to...
save some time and use these sprinkles but then it dawned on me we are not readable colored there's also rainbows in there I need sprinkles okay so I'm going to have to go ahead and make my own sprinkles from scratch out of polymer clay because we want this cookie to be funfetti Araya are you proud of me you know what I think it looks really good if there's anything I learned from Mariah

Elizabeth

let's take a look how she likes to put her sprinkles yes migraines she puts one sprinkle at a time not like me so let's go ahead and place a couple of sprinkles on the cookie I need sprinkles okay these sprinkles look absolutely adorable but let's be very clear a snake with sprinkles is in no way a monstrous creature and so edumacation time since I want this to still be a monstrous creature I took out my wings set mold and made a pair of wings once we put them on the snake suddenly it goes from just a snake to office Turo toes which is a winged serpent from Greek mythology that is said to have been spotted in Arabia guardian frankincense which is pretty much what Arabs used to do to use like perfume and the toils to smell good cookie texture check sprinkles check wings check now we have to put her in the oven to bake for about 35 minutes so you grains know what we need to do because baking this piece is extremely risky probably one of the riskiest pieces I have ever baked simply because it's a straight in that like the swoopy Turney things get English so...
because the pieces are really suspended there's a greater risk that pieces might fall the problem areas would be the head and and the ways I really did my best to secure it so now let's put our hands together and pray to the baking God steer baking gods of evermore please protect my peace from cracks burns and fallen loose and also the next day all right so here we are the next day because I really needed her after baking to cool off not that kind of cool off you know what I meant and I asked Pat to take it out of the oven so I have no idea if it's broken if it's in pieces if the limbs and won't the wings fell off so we're gonna discover this together cuz he just put it there and I asked them so can you give me a hint and you just laughed and walked away thanks for nothing Pat and the result is I'm gonna get this towel it was probably not a good idea oh she said yes okay now the next tricky part is to remove this bottom part and hopefully she doesn't crumble I've had pieces that crumbled after him oh how do I move this let me scrunch it lower migraines she's standing gravity is once again not our enemy today we have vanquished gravity now that we have her right here this bottom part is very empty but don't worry there's a lot more detail going on the cookie salute slithering snake Wow wanted to say slithering for some reason cuz I'm a dork that's why there's still a lot more detail to go here but first we need to...
create a shelf as you can see in her videos usually she has her shelf behind her and it has quite a bit of goodies behind it so I'm going to make my own little version down here with some stuff to pay a mesh tire so in order to make the shelf I'm definitely not going to use clay because clay and very thin pieces is very fragile fragile fragile how do you pronounce it let me know in the comment section below think I'm thinking in French machine I'm going to be using a sturdy cardboard not bendy and my glue gun I'll also be using acrylic paints to paint it and trust me again the details they're gonna come back later don't worry about and the idea of making this is of course an homage to her thrift store makeovers so we're gonna get we're gonna have fun with that obviously this little shelf is just way too big it's pretty snug I don't know if snug is good but it kind of removes the fact that you can see it floating maybe if I do it smaller like this I don't know I'm torn what would you have done would you have done a bigger shelf like this or a smaller shelf let me know I think for now I'm going to keep it big and then decide later if I want to redo the whole thing well I obviously need more pink paint to make the decorative strawberries I'm using something called UV resin which is a liquid that went hardened either through a windowsill on your sunny day or through a UV light it hardens kind of like a plasticy glass ...
shelf complete it look at my trophy I am very proud of it what we need to do now is add a few things to make the shelf you know a little more homey and what's more mommy than a couple of tiny

squishies

this here is they leftover from one of my Squishy on makeovers so if you like squishy makeovers my series is squishy unmake overs so I kind of ruined perfectly good ones so I'm going to turn this once upon a time cute little candy one into a bread roll kind of thing so I'm going to give it a whole new paint job and this bear the bear toast is obviously way too big for this so I'm going to make a new tinier version toasts out of the toasts that is so meta and of course we need a third one but I won't tell you which one it is so keep watching by the way when I use this in a video many of you started panicking and you're like I'm me good that is that is a thread scissor do not use it on anything like paper but I'm here to tell you I'm never going to be using it on thread so get ready to watch me use it on

squishies

hashtag sorry not sorry I don't I just don't use thread would you rather that I just leave it aside and never use it no ah we'll use it tiny little candy thing meat thread scissors one of the biggest pain in the butts is removing that little thing that they put inside to turn it into a charm because it's pretty deep in there that's what she's know all right super cute so the process for making a squishy...
weather miniature or Vegas pretty much the same I'm going to be using 3d paint in order to seal in some of the spots that are kind of like bold spots and once that's dry I'm going to take fabric paints and give it a whole new look blessed I checked red and white bow is not copyrighted so I can use it now for the derpy side he's not gonna be pleased ah dang it now the most important squishy that absolutely has to go in this sculpture is neat pickle the dinosaur the dinosaur has just been like so well loved and kind of like a mascot of my channel for the past year so I feel like we should mention him yep this sculpture would not be complete unless we had pickle but I'm going to be doing pickle in his original form which is the pickle shaped Stegosaurus type squishy and again for that all I'm doing is pretty much taking again the foam pieces from scrap

squishies

and

turning

them into a beautiful work of art I'm getting the feeling I am accidentally

turning

pickles into Bulbasaur I'm sorry pickles but part of my personality is going into you and of course we can't forget the fact that mariah has her own book which is called create this book not only does she have one version but she has two versions in this book she has different prompts in order to inspire you to draw or create things in case you're not feeling it so in order to do that I actually printed a copy of her cover that she designed and I'm using polymer clay to make a...
book base once it's baked all I have to do is just glue the cover right on top now that all the small pieces have been done this is the part I am most excited about the reason I'm excited is because we're going to be starting to put whipped cream dollops on top of Mariah and yes they're going to be rainbow but in order to do that we can't obviously just put any kind of cream normally many craft stores sell Deco cream which is a really cool cream used to decorate either your phones your picture frames or any other thing I've even used it to decorate my own picture frame so even though technically we can buy them in already made form in order to do rainbow colors I definitely don't have those so please not good enough so today I'm going to teach you how to make your own fake whipped cream using let's see a ulk silicon get your minds out of the gutter please I said please so in order to make our fake cream we're going to put some of this into plastic cups or containers because it's not really washable trust me you don't want to do that and then you're going to mix in some color now here's the thing little disclaimer you can't use acrylics you can't use watercolor you absolutely have to use oil paint once you have your oil paint mixed in and you have the shade that you want go ahead and put it into piping bags with piping tips and you have yourself some fake cream clever our dye in goes the dresser the little...

squishies

and since Mariah loves rainbows we have to have rainbows everywhere rainbows in there the reason I chose to use cabochon or some of you might call them charms is because when she did be a slime video she was really in love with the little charms that Elmer sent her yes I have a rainbow cake dude I didn't want to create this book to lay flat so I put a little cream right underneath to make it stand up just a little bit more tiny M&Ms yes and since pickle is a really huge part of Mariah's channel she's holding a pickle alright I made a last-minute executive decision and we're putting a cherry on top holy carp we made it this is so different from my route of darkness this one is so colorful so sweet there's practically rainbows every corner of this little piece and I have to admit even though it does look simple I've been working on this yes for three days even though there's editing magic pieces like that take me no less than about 30 to 40 hours yep but is it cute yes did I have fun making it absolutely let me know in this environment what is your favorite item if you want to watch the previous
