and my friend it all starts with you now abraham lincoln is often quoted as saying if i had eight hours to chop down a tree i would spend six sharpening my ax and its time for you to sharpen your ax and that ax is you and it all starts with a protocol which i formulated a few years ago called monk mode monk mode and monk mode monk mode monk mode monk mode this is the same system that thousands of people have used to change their life now i know some of you still want a game plan on what model of business to get to 10K a month so I'll leave it at the first line of the description probably my best received video I've ever posted basically I compared the most common.Seven or eight business models out there and he created the Matrix to make money and depending on your strengths and weaknesses, whatever it is, it basically shows you which model you should go with so I'll just leave it as the first line in the description but now for the real flesh and bones of this video, i'm going to show you exactly how to run monk mode in 2023, the first seven or eight days of every year are canceled because my birthday is on january 3rd, but immediately after. that i transitioned to doing monk mode for six weeks in early 2022 so i can tell you after being in self improvement for eight years after being in business for six years i still implement these things to this day so ladies and gentlemen what is monk mode now monk mode is a dip period and i recommend no less than 21 days and no more than 90 days if you do anything less than 21 days you just won't feel the effects and if you try to do anything more than 90 days you're going to start getting serious and you're going to start to feel like this is hard this is hard you know i don't want to do this anymore i'm missing out on life all these things and the thing is monk mode is a tool i've used for years and it's a tool that I want you to keep using for years and years, so I don't want you to have all these negative associations around it, so for most people who have never done it before, I recommend just starting with a protocol of 21 days now the real beauty is you can actually do 21 days and then at the end you know you can take a couple of days to party and relax and enjoy and then go straight into another cycle of Monk mode or you can finish all 21 days and wow wow i feel a lot of drive i feel great i am going to do another 30 days and i know a lot of people are going you shouldn't set high goals and all this stuff.
I personally believe that building your confidence and keeping your promises is the most important thing in life, so I would rather you do 21 days. extend from there instead of trying to commit to 60 or 90 days from the jump now I created the monk mode protocol like Lego blocks when I formulated the protocol a few years ago I didn't want it to be frigid you know there are similar protocols out there eg, I eat 75 hard and I have the greatest respect not only for the protocol but for all the people who go through it for me personally. I think flexibility is important sometimes and it's important that there are your non-negotiables and then there are other variables that you put on top because everyone's journey and what people are trying to achieve is very different, you know the bodybuilder you're trying to achieve something very different compared to the person who runs a company and has employees and you know you're really trying to focus and scale the company down to people who are working jobs that are very happy and very happy with their career but just they want to feel more Stillness more calm more presence in their life and that is why I built the monk mode protocol the way I did it that way it serves you better, but the monk mode protocol is based on three non-negotiables, it seems simple, but that's the beauty of it now the first non-negotiable is 10 minutes a day of meditation and let me warn you for the first 10 days you won't notice a single difference then in about 10-14 days you'll notice something fun starting to happen you'll start to be more aware of your thoughts you will start to notice your monkey brain you will start to notice those moments when you feel pain you feel doubt you feel uncertainty you feel like maybe you can't achieve the things you want to do and the old you the old you before you monk mode would have reached for your phone or a video game or tried to distract himself or put on some music or sadly as he is ruining so many men he would use that pain in that discomfort as an opportunity to close the blinds put something on his phone that It probably shouldn't be watching them do the act for five minutes and living in shame and on the spectrum of emotion shame is the worst thing a person can feel shame is fundamentally that I'm a bad person and they do it multiple times a day they reinforce it multiple times up to date as a coping mechanism because you want to run away from your fears and your problems and your doubts so I will tell you that meditation can be scary for some of you because you will notice that your monkey brain is going to notice your demons but you are going to pass other beautiful things you will notice that when you go for a walk you do not need background music you will notice that you can just sit with a cup of tea or a cup of coffee in silence listening to the wind blowing and you can just sit comfortable with yourself you no longer need run away from yourself you and you are on the same team meditation is by far one of the best habits for anyone who is trying to build a business or just achieve whatever they want in life to become the man they want to be you know let me ask you a question where is your phone right now let me guess its probably next to you and i can guarantee you for a fact its not on do not disturb you know how many times you have picked it up in the last 60 minutes to check social media and then you realize halfway through as you're scrolling through tick tock or instagram or whatever why did i pick up my phone why did i get this weird urge to pick up my phone and distract myself ladies and gentlemen remember the quote of lincoln? they want you to scroll Tick Tock they want to numb you you say you'd never touch drugs but you were as addicted as the addicts you say you'll never become you must meditate and you must face your demons now the non-negotiable second is 30 minutes a day of exercise now before you tell me oh but what about overtraining if i train every day seven days a week just stop put your mind at ease i don't care if you go for a walk i don't care if you go for swimming i don't care if you train to failure i don't care if it does you good just exercise a strong mind it's nothing without a strong body the two are symbiotic they go hand in hand and once again this is the beauty of monk mode it really depends of your goals.
I think for most of you I would recommend training hard, training hard three to four times a week and then on the days in between going for a walk, stretching for 30 minutes, doing some sitting yoga and standing still is one of the worst. pests of the modern age, ladies and gentlemen, we are not meant to be a sap idol all day. God brought us to this Earth to hunt, to move, to stretch, to run, to walk, and ladies and gentlemen, we can both understand that. There is no amount of money on earth worth sacrificing for your health so in the same way you have to train your mind you have to train your body and let me tell you how beautiful once you start doing this for long enough it seems so strange. not to, i'll say that 30 minute workouts are non-negotiables for monk mode and i just want to give this little caveat: it's actually not one of my non-negotiables because it's personally harder for me not to exercise.
You have to exercise and that's where the real beauty of hard things are only hard when you're trying to instill them as habits when they're habits it's harder not to do them and I'm going to be completely honest with you. I'm not perfect the only thing I struggle with out of all of this is meditation you know meditation is something I'll do for long periods obviously every time I do monk mode and then I crash and then you know a couple of weeks later. I'll look at it and think, oh, this is so weird, I just listen, I like music more, you know, even when I'm brushing my teeth before bed, and you know I check my phone more often and feel just a little more nervous, you know.
I miss how weird this is and it's like well duh what do you think dummy? What's the one thing you haven't been doing in the last few weeks? So I don't want to sit here and pretend like my whole life I'm perfect but that's really the beauty of monk mode when you're doing monk mode it's like this ritual it's this promise that you've kept to yourself and it's also very exciting because it's like I don't know you just made a commitment you're sticking to it and that's why I don't care if the year is 2023 I don't care if the year is 20 40 I'll be doing monk mode and I'll do it. be using monk mode as a tool to achieve my goals for the rest of my life now the next non-negotiable is not drinking alcohol or not smoking it's tempting sometimes it's not like that when the going gets tough it's tempting that there's something you can drink or something you can smoke and it seems all your worries all your fears just evaporate it's so easy to run away run away from your problems run away from your mind just one drink one simple smoke just one simple remedy for your pain but my friend you're running away from the man you could be and you know it's funny every time i say this non negotiable to people everyone seems to understand and agree yes of course no alcohol i totally get it but then there's this little subsection that says no no you don't understand weed makes me creative makes me sleep better they start to cope and start making these excuses i don't want to hear your excuses anymore how many times have you told yourself the same old lies listen to me we can stop playing this game now we can stop playing this game where you lie to yourself where you get by where you tell yourself there are no video games it's a chance to socialize it's a chance to hang out with you my friends just uh, You know it makes me creative or helps me sleep better, can we stop playing this game?
I feel like we've been playing this game for enough years, haven't we? third and last non-negotiable Now ladies and gentlemen look at that and go wow okay so he tells me 10 minutes a day of meditation 30 minutes a day of exercise and no alcohol and no innovative weed and the fun is the people who says i guarantee 98 of them couldn't even commit properly for 21 days now this is where the real beauty of Monk mode comes in because this is where you start stacking your own variables now your own variables can depend on what they are you are trying to get it right now maybe for you that might mean and i've done it quite a bit in my different mono mode protocols committing to pray once a day maybe for some of you who are trying to work on your social skills maybe that It could mean that every day you commit to going up and talking to a girl, even if it's literally to give her a compliment to say hello to whatever, for some of you it's just socializing.
I even know how to socialize and talk to the opposite sex and by the way when I say that I'm not trying to shame you because it's a skill and it's something you have to learn it's funny in 2015 2016 I used to do that before I was in mode monk used to make commitments to myself hey i need to talk to at least three strangers today even if i just give them a compliment or ask what time it is or whatever even when i used to go to the gym when i was 15 or 16 years. I would go out of my way to talk to at least one new person when going to the gym, obviously without interrupting or learning about their workout, so in whatever area of your life you feel like. you lack you know maybe for you that could mean everyday you need to call at least one of your old friends you know my next monk mode protocol i could make it one of my extra variables you know my life is so hectic i'm so busy right now i don't have time to call old friends but let's be honest with you that's just an excuse i'm telling myself like i said that's why i get so excited about him monkey, it doesn't matter if it's you on the other side of the screen or it's me, we both have the opportunity to take responsibility and I'm going to leave on the screen 10 other suggestions or examples or things that you could compromise with for the other two variables for your protocol monk mode so at the beginning of this video I made you a promise that this is the smartest path to get to ten thousand dollars a month by 2023 and it really is because all theseother people think, oh I've got the tactics, I've got the tricks, it's not like that, they're going to spin their wheels over and over again because they may have a solid game plan for what they're going to do. they're going to sit down they're going to work for two minutes and then they're going to go this is hard this is awkward what i'm used to and they're going to use one of their coping mechanisms they're going to use one of their tactics so first you gotta sharpen the axe and that ax my friend is you so on that note i say from the bottom of my heart this is your year i'm rooting for you you've been lying and making excuses for years. if that's not enough decades, now is the time to seize 2023.
