warning improper installation adjustment tampering service or maintenance can cause property damage personal injury or loss of life installation and service must be performed by a licensed
powerelectrician so we put a little lock here i don't have the lock right now but that's it done she's been working here for about six months four or five months here this morning putting together our service survey for the job site here in the office so we got this um ipl diagram on how to set up the survey. up um so you have the strength of the meter height also the bracing for the
poleto hold it and how deep they want it in the ground which is not important how deep right now we just support how we set it up and they want at least 13 foot six to the top of your to the top of your um riser this is the this is the time to
startwhen you put it go to the top of the post up to here and from the um from the ground to the top of that we go t 13 six we should be good with our serve now how many of these have we done before?
I won't tell you, but we're going to put this together today and show you how it's done right, so we've got a few things lined up. here on our post here already the mark measures four feet from the bottom of the post and put a line here to the right and then from here our mark there measures up to five feet which is right here so we're going to screw that in here and then we'll mount this box here um there's not a certain distance that we have to have from here we can get closer to here if we want but we're going to give a little bit of room there and then this is the meter box this is the um the box is something for serving the 70 amp breaker panel that we have is going to shut down is going to house our breakers to control the
powerand everything to cut and cut it out and also that it trips if something were to happen to the um wire where they grounded it it would trip that breaker so no one gets hurt as well the second caution we have is we're using gfi and these are also for water or ground so they're going to go through this box here they're just going to mount right under here í so yeah so gfr stands for do you know what gfi stands for for ground fault on a uh breaker ground fault circuit breaker yes ground fault circuit breaker and so this is also a 70 amp meter base and so they call it a load center yeah and we have a we have one uh double amp double lamp 20 amp 20 amp 200 breaker 20 amp breaker and then we have another one so 60 this box is rated for 70 and so we're going to put three 360 in it and we have our cable here that we use aluminum wire we can use them without we've been doing it with copper but we have aluminum wire here that we have just for our
poleyes for this service from the IPL pole to this pole here that going to get you so good so let's get to work here
startuh putt putting this bad boy together that's right see you back cliff and cliff okay so we ran into an ob stacle this morning with our meter base it has too many holes where water can infiltrate and we are not putting screws in these holes here so we are going to replace it with a new one we also need to go find our conduit to connect the charging box to the junction box where our plugs will be placed so those two things we're missing come back a bit, okay?

Let's forget the glue, right? So you have the 100 amp box. You have the offset so that the outlets plug into the meter base and not the meter base but low center, low center, but you. I forgot the glue we were going to forget the glue the two of us together right but that's why two brains are better than one so we just got back to the office we messed up our lows we got our new um our base meter , meter box, you? look it's cool no it hasn't been removed but we just
finished putting our uh we called t here's a male coupling male coupling with the connector and you know you put you get your knockout your screw and your screw screws around that uh that coupling put the new hub in the new hub we're using an inch and a half yes inch and a half center this didn't come in a box isn't that right?
So you have to buy your hub separately and you're docking it separately and now we're getting ready to show you something like show you why you want space how you want why you want space here okay on facebook we've never had to change our hub we can get a screwdriver here to unscrew it without having to go through a lot of fuss to get it loose so you want to use that where are you going to space it in there yeah emily i'm only getting like at least 11 inches here in between you know what i came up with so yeah , about 11 inches there, we'll get it right, sweet, all now? you need me to cut a pipe uh yeah let's cut this we have this 10-fo ot inch and a half conduit what is this here? outside conduit uh pipe lets say electrical all good underground or outdoors anyway you can do it for electric you got about ten feet of that ten foot stick all good perfect now im about to get this cut i made a wall saw its ok okay we're gonna go good so we didn't actually end up doing it at 11 inches we ended up going seven and a quarter I think and you just put it in gray pvc solvent cement in between the two couplings oh so he's already gone go ahead and plugged it into the box with our uh with our gfr outlets so let me know what's going on here so far i got the uh well what's up two wires these twelve two wires went from the breakers to the conduit that they connect to the um outlet boxes to connect the gfi which is the ground fault on a circuit breaker take the breakers and then you take your you have two two bare grounds coming in coming in and then to so your two white neutrals to complete the circuit with the two blacks to get power for your breakfast here ok so I'm going to put this one here you want to remove each wire from half inch insulation to make your connection to your um brakes one thing i didn't understand before but you have to get the switches that match the box whatever the manufacturer of the box their uh makes the uh the center box low it's like that yeah so every switch is custom i mean nice patented to the box give a little tug make sure you're ok short this a little bit longer shorter than that just to fit my bottle i like qu e my cables and stuff a little more tidy so it's always good to be a little bit longer initially, then reduce more if necessary.
You cannot make the cables longer. Not again. Just a little tug. to be yes you might be okay okay okay yeah and it's is very important to understand that when this is connected we just run into wires yeah okay so now we have to put our service wire service wires here, we can do a little measurement, let's see what we got, so let's go. we'll do 20 and then and then we'll cut them, that's our service cable, are you about to cut some of these cables? here kinda easy there we go just put a little bit around make sure you cover it nice slide it down and this is ours you already got the screw yeah loosen a little maybe a little looser hold on a sec ya wanna screw our case first you think we probably should i've got the stage in that pan already we're ready to go slow it down a little bit so we just get the knockouts out so we're ready to screw the put the box back on and let this screw it here to the post this might be one of the best huh i don't think they're more contemporary electric calls but sometimes they just do what they want to do go to their facebook marketplace craigslist and look for a temp survey you'll find a dozen of them made whatever way at some point absolutely there's a pretty thick wire what gauge is this here this here is the number um i think it was aluminum number four aluminum number four yeah okay pel ar this wire so we can make a connection work good again I'll put I have to make sure there's no wires no installation in the middle where you're going to put them let's pretend all four sides look at this all around that little side all four sides, but what you're looking for. my furry there you go through the loop and that's such a small one and a black stripe on it so what wire is this here for this is going to power the power tool this here was a neutral ground but this here will feed power over two from from the subway to the down center ok ok so we have all the wires for our switch to our down center here we have the feed from hot to neutral to the main luggage which one is neutral neutrals here with the white stripe on ok and which one is the middle wire these two here are hot and they can go anywhere it makes no difference if you put one on this side or the other side but they still serve the same purpose okay so this is high and this is hot here so that this is hot and this is hot all true i need a good sharp blade which is important uh yeah it makes it a little easier to get to the installation shroud to remove the wires so you'll be persuasive with the c beable because you don't want to do what you want. do it because right now you landed red hot where it should be huh to ruin the menu lemme drop the ball yeah this little thing come there so far there we go there there you go good so i moved on. and i stripped the end of the wire and now we're going to pay d this wire down is feeding this wire through this uh through our riser there ok so we're all connected now and we have our neutral wire and our two highs and we just replicate the same thing for our elevator head and so we push our wires from that end we push our wires from that end down now we can do it we've got our neutron our two hot spots just connected them they put rust compound on those two wires too and now we're, we're, um, just glued the weather head on and now we're going to screw in this uh screw that can do it so the next video you see is us putting this bad boy in the ground here's the final product of temporary power um, so we put a little lock here.
I don't have the lock for now, but she's ready. It's been running here for about six months or so, four or five months.
