Um, you know, I considered my age and the fact that at the end of a second term I would be about 80 years old and I think it's

for guys like me to get out of the way and have people in the

s up because they are going to shape the world they will live in and for the last couple of decades, people my age, the Boomers, have done pretty well, we vote for all kinds of benefits and programs for us and we haven't paid for them and I think some of the people who are coming

next

want to have a say in how we leave Earth and how they prepare for the future that they're going to have. live in Well, everyone will make their own decision, of course, and consider their own circumstances.

I just look at my age and where I am. I wish I knew I was going to be like Chuck Grassley and be able to be vigorous. and dynamic into my 90s, I could have made a different decision, but you never know, but I think the

time

s we live in really demand that the Next Generation

step

up, express their point of view and make decisions. that will shape our American politics for the next century and just having a bunch of guys that were around the Baby Boomers that were around in the post-war era, we're not the ones to make the decisions for tomorrow, well no. there is dude. but the Republican Party today is in the shadow of Donald Trump.

He is the leader of most of the Republican Party. He is a populist. I think the demagogue part of the party. Look, I represent a small wing of the party, so to speak. I call it the wise wing of the Republican Party, uh, and I don't think we're going away. I think we will ultimately resurrect ourselves and return to the leadership of the party. Look, my wing of the party talks about policies and issues that will make a difference in the lives of the American people the Trump wing of the party talks about resentments of various kinds and getting revenge and settling scores and reviewing the 2020 election what are the policies for the future and my party is only I will be successful in getting young people to vote for us if we are talking about the future and that is not happening so far otherwise.

I was at a rally where someone said to me, "You know, if you're elected," that's when he ran for office last time, if he's elected, he's going to shut down ABC, NBC and CBS because they're not broadcasting the truth and this was in a Republican rally and I said: there really is no doubt, there is no doubt. a part of my party and the opposition party that thinks we need to have a strong person, a strong man, who will put aside the Constitution, in fact, President Trump, former President Trump, said that we should include the Constitution to reinstate him as president.

I mean, yes. There are some people who believe that I think they are very wrong. I think the vast majority of Americans think they're wrong, but uh uh and in terms of what I'm going to do, look, I want to be younger. people voting and getting involved in the political process and that's something I'm going to dedicate myself to after the next year and a half that I dedicated it to. I have no intention of making endorsements, by the way, I think endorsements are John's old phrase. McCain line, they ain't worth a damn, who the hell cares who holds up too.

You make your decision as a voter about what you think about the candidate and your point of view and vision of him, and you don't care what you do. another person said so I'm not thinking about who you want to be successful. I don't have a comment that can happen to me. I hope we have a very strong contender and it's someone a little younger than me, thank you.
