Safest Country in the World During the Coronavirus- New Zealand

Jun 04, 2021
Hi guys, I'm Chantal and I grew up without borders. Today I am going to share with you one of the

safest

countries to be in during the corona virus and why it is the

safest

country

, it is probably one of the best countries to live in. I also live in the

world

, so immerse yourself. I've written down five different reasons, maybe six even depending on one, I guess we'll go with that, but now we're in the

country

of New Zealand, so New Zealand is basically one of the few countries that have been affected by the corona virus that have such a low mortality rate and here are the reasons so the first reason number one is that they had early warning so when they had some of their first cases it was at the same time that Italy was getting their first cases, as well as the United States, so they had very advanced warning and knowledge that this was in their country and that this was dangerous for the officials of their country, so the government and their prime minister who is incredible, Prime Minister Jacinda, and basically the advice that they followed, they didn't take it too lightly or ignore it, it had immediate effect and they were basically fast, proactive and well informed of what was happening, because they had In their first case, They had this buffer time beforehand since many other places were hit hard and fast.

They had a lot of leeway to see what was happening in other countries and basically take action quickly, and that comes down to Our number two reason was that they had a super fast lockdown process, so they were basically tracking the entire

coronavirus

. and with the outsiders coming into the country, which was not a community, they spread what they called, so they were tracking how many people in how many cases. They had done it very well and very effectively, but as soon as they had what they called a community spread, meaning they couldn't see where it came from or if that person received it from someone outside the country coming in, they shut down immediately, so it was Not only do they know that maybe they should sell the expensive Lily, You know, let's do this half-heartedly, no, it was like an immediate block and an immediate block.

More Interesting Facts About,

safest country in the world during the coronavirus new zealand...

They have four different levels of lockdown, so to speak, and we go into an immediate number four, which means. all non-essential businesses closed completely, everything closes except pharmacies, supermarkets and certain facilities that, of course, are essential, hospitals and all that, so you have to isolate yourself. We had two isolated sites and it came within a 48- Within an hour period, they also sent a text saying, where are you going to sleep tonight? You have to sleep for the next four weeks, so it wasn't like we now have time to travel to another city or go or not, this is like an immediate boom tonight.

You're sleeping there and you're sleeping for four weeks, so they didn't play with the lockdowns and kept everything contained. They also have what's called an elimination strategy, so they don't just contain the virus, they literally want to eradicate and eliminate it. outside their country and it's a little bit easier for them to do it for many reasons of course and this is what we'll get into so when they went into quarantine they only had a hundred cases recorded so they didn't wait for it to happen. exploded or something they went into an immediate lockdown and that's one of the reasons why it's super safe here right now during the time of

coronavirus

and number three is testing and tracing so from the beginning I'll just explain our experience when we arrived in the country we had to fill out all these forms and they asked us specific questions like what car company did you rent with what is the address you will be staying at, they call emergency contact information so there are a lot of details that we had to complete when we receive our visas.

You also sign up for an app, so it's a mobile app and there they can send you messages and stuff so they can track pretty much everything that's going on. coming in who comes out and it is very well documented and recorded, also because they were quick to act with the blockade, they implemented a blockade in their country, so to speak, if you are not a resident of their country, you will not come when they left. in this stage of lockdown so that only residents of the country can enter with strict rules. I've heard of people who didn't get their work visa readings while they weren't coming back to UN Zealand, you know, on any of their islands, so there's only four point eight million people who were being tested and things like that, so the country is very small, the population here is extremely small, so, for example, the same number of tests that are being done now in the United States is basically the entire population here.
It's a lot easier to contain something when there are a lot fewer numbers, obviously the Prime Minister is incredible, so the other day she said something that was brilliant, everyone saw it: technology and doing everything high tech and everything, but she said, guys, look. Get out a journal and write down where you've been, what you're doing, who you're in contact with because sometimes it's hard to remember where I was last Tuesday, who this is with for when things start to open up. IM not talking. about now because we can't move yet or anything, but when things get to a level, let's say two and level one, we'll start tracking it so you know, so there's nothing like, oh, let's say you know, turn on all the telephones. and track everyone or wear a bracelet slowly we can track you like they are doing in China maybe it will get to that point I don't know but for now this is a smart idea like just keeping a diary so if you ever you get it.
Sick, you can say Oh Tuesday. I was in contact with this person on Wednesday with this person and you have a complete record of it. Additionally, they are very intelligent at tracking. Very high-tech tracking. Your Prime Minister visits Facebook Live and makes updates. and it seems more pleasant. Number four is the geographic location of New Zealand, so as most of you know, we're so far away from everything, we're so out of the way that there are so few flights compared to, say, Europe, compared to the United States. Joined. The states there, compared to other countries, have people coming in and out of Bangkok, for example, people coming in and out all the time crossing, well, they don't have that here, so it's just a matter of easier to contain and easier to go to the blockade.
They are islands, there are two islands North and South for those of you who didn't know, so it is easy to contain compared to many other countries, they have no shared land borders because of that, so there are no entrances and departures of others. countries that you know by land are very easy to contain, let me tell you a little about their rigor, and if you come to this country, this is a side note, but this is one of the reasons why I think they are so good at being that everything is controlled and all my little details are silent, so on the sheet, when we get to the border officer, first you fill it out yourself, but then the border officer reviews each and every question with you to make sure that you.
In reality, you are sure of what you have said, so it is as if you have an impulse to walk. Are you sure you don't have hiking boots? Maybe it's running shoes that are like a boot? Know? We would really like to ask ourselves. We thought no, no, no, no, which might seem strange coming to New Zealand without hiking boots. Well, we came from 40 degree weather with flip flops or a pair of running shoes, so we didn't have walking shoes, but them. They asked us: do you have a tent? Do you have hiking poles? All these fun questions and we're seriously wondering why that is and basically in certain countries, if you touch the soil, you might bring back I don't know, maybe pollinated seeds. from other types of countries, you know, maybe it's for GMO purposes, like Monsanto seeds, who knows, or it could just be that you know things on earth that don't want cross contamination, so whatever, but they're super strict and everything is like a high fine, so if you bring, for example, an apple into the country while you are there, you can risk a super high fine for doing so, so everything is very well controlled, very well contained and it's easy because They have nothing from you.
I know that the neighboring countries that border your land number five have strict travel controls, so all of this that I just said falls into that category, but they also have strict travel controls in the sense that if you are not a resident of this country you can't enter and then the people coming back were so strict that anyone coming back from different countries in Europe, wherever they were, went into a direct 14-day quarantine without the ability to move around or without the ability to, let's say, go first to the supermarket and then enter. quarantine no, it was direct to quarantine so they can contain and eradicate the virus.
The other thing that they implemented and this was like right after we arrived, any travelers that arrived, regardless, were going to go into 14 day self-isolation, now that I heard. that some travelers hadn't, they went for a helicopter ride and the pilot even took them straight to the police station, so good with them that you know people are watching, they have a hotline to call if people see that they are not hitting. and comply with the very controlled rules and I know that those of you watching from the United States right now say we want our freedom, we want our rights, of course we do and of course you are right to think that way and you, That's why they fought for their freedom, that's why America exists, they know it's the land of the free, they know and all that, but when it comes to people's lives, they have to ask themselves what is the value of a life? and why are you really fighting for your freedom or for lives like?
Think about it. On a side note, another side note is that there were a hundred thousand tourists stranded here in New Zealand, including us, so we're actually originally from the country of Canada and we're half Swiss, so we live in Switzerland right now and we're traveling all over the

world

making these cool travel videos and we are one of those stranded travelers who are here right now. There are many of these nature trails throughout the South and South. Island, but also probably the North Island, but these nature trails consist of you're walking, you don't have Internet, you sleep in little cabins and all these travelers we're doing that and a lot of them came out of the bush, so to speak, without even knowing about the coronavirus and going into immediate lockdown and thinking, wait, what are we going to lock down, we don't have a place to stay, no hotels to stay in, so it was chaotic for a lot of the travelers, some only had a cell phone.
They didn't even have a laptop to book flights back, they couldn't find flights, if they found flights between five and eight thousand dollars, up to outrageous amounts to get back home, so a lot of people are still here, still stranded. I know that and that's what it is, so those are the top five reasons why I think this country is going to get better, but let me quickly explain the different levels of quarantine, so a level four is like full lockdown in the one we are. Now, what I just explained, number three is basically like number four, but now maybe they will have self-service businesses open or any type of business that does not have physical contact with people, that is, a hair salon, for example, can still do it.
They don't cut hair, but maybe they can sell their products or companies can now start shipping online and things like that, whereas before you knew it everything was incomplete, so we may get to this level 3 in the next few days we don't know if there is an announcement and here it is so you can get a little idea of what we are currently in lockdown and we will remain visible for the next week starting Tuesday morning April 28th we will move to level 3 and we will stay there for two weeks. two weeks gives us another transmission cycle to help us how we do from there, we will move if we can and if we are ready, but only when it really and only when it is safe, you have it in a nutshell, so let's get into it. a level 2, but only on April 28, so even though they tested all these people in and around Queenstown on the South Island, they had no cases according to the random testing they did and even then they only go to a level 3. in a week, so they want to literally eliminate the virus.
Now when they say eliminate the virus, they know they're not necessarily going to get to zero cases, but they're basically going to continue testing, quarantining, and contact tracing for anyone who does. they have the virus so they are moving extremely slow in terms of their lockdown process to get out of this so it's very interesting and just to explain to you the difference between level 4 and level 3, level 3 is basically the same as level4, where you can't interact much and still have to stay home, but you can expand your bubble a little to some of your family members and maybe your loved ones who are alone.
Level 2 will be a little more open. Now schools could begin to open, but everything will be very well contained and social distancing will remain in force. You can have weddings and things like that, but only groups of 10 people for funerals, so there are different levels, if you will, of control numbers. one, it's not like you're out of the dark because they will still have confined borders, probably no one will be allowed in unless you comply with the 14 quarantine period, but I think for quite some time we're going to be seeing this kind of a closed country where no one is going to come in and that's the only way they're going to be able to sustain themselves and protect themselves and their citizens from being infected and keep them safe so there you have it guys I hope you enjoy the video please.
