May 02, 2020

what

happens is Robo and we are here with a new video series called Robo Philosophy where I give you the tactical and logistical

tips

and

tricks

that I use in my

airsoft

adventures and as the first episode we will cover something that the guys have been asking for for quite some time and that's an overview of all the gear I carry on a

milsim

op so that's it check it out starting with the cargo bag before you get to the gun case this is a medium L BT on wheels. cargo bag I bought from LBT obviously on sale otherwise it's ridiculously expensive to get but I have to be honest it has changed my organizational life when it comes to

airsoft

.

Now it's important,

what

ever bag you choose to use, make sure it's something that has organizational capabilities, there's nothing worse than just having a bunch of airsoft stuff in a general purpose bag; will make your life really difficult when it comes to keeping track of your items and making sure you're

pack

ing all the right things so I said, let's start showing you what I put in this bag as essential items to take to a

milsim

, so First of all, what's going to go in the bag is generally my BTUs, whether this is a green side or a brown side is kind of inconsequential and depends on what I'm going to play with, so this is just my multi-chamber tropical green side kit and it's going to go in the bag at the bottom of the largest compartment, so next in the kit is a plate. carrier in this case is a mission spec IOC or an essential only plate carrier and this is a red wolf edition that has the editions that allow me to attach my Haley d3 strategic chess deck to which it is now really important to carry milsim operations.

It's a good pair. of shoes here in my strength are two from Salomon. These are a mid-height gore-tex waterproof boot that I will also do a review on now. Actually, I'm not going to put them in the bag. I usually use them on the plane. or during the car ride and there's a reason I put another pair of boots in this bag. You'll see a standard philosophy that I use that is pretty much one is none two is one possible three is two in this case I think it's excessive to carry three pairs of boots, but I definitely think it's important to carry at least two and that's just taking take into account any fault you may have in something really important like footwear.

Now, to save space, what I actually do is place them between the two plate pockets of the plate holder so that they don't take up any extra space, they just take up a little bit of extra geometric height. Now something else that I will usually

pack

inside this bag before I start filling this other compartment is actually spare magazines, these are not the main ones, my main magazines go in my gun case, but this bag has little pockets of storage on the side that allow me to file them away and not worry about them, so now I cover some of the larger ones.

The elements that will go in this compartment on the right side. I usually start with a cube. You always want to bring a good helmet to a milsim game, whether you use a camera or not, a helmet is very important because while they are not ballistic or military grade helmets in many cases, especially if you are using a replica, these things will save your noodles if you fall, it's like a bicycle helmet in that sense, so it's very important to wear one now in terms of the helmet you want. I usually have some type of light marking device for when you get killed, especially when you're in low light situations like night games.
Now I also have an SNS Precision mantis strobe, that's a bit much, it's more for looks than anything else. but something like a V light or an e light is really important for night kill recognition. Going back to that philosophy, one is none, two is one, here's a set of Cry G, three knee pads and here's a second set in case you don't make it. I don't want to find myself in a position where I may have destroyed a pair or lost a pair and not have adequate backup, so you'll see me carrying two of these at a time in terms of eye protection.
I bring an eye protection system mainly to protect me from the sun, but in cases where Milsim allows me to use them, I will bring them and also have my full seal as a backup or for a Milsim that requires me to have a full seal again. I also have them on me to comply with all the safety rules of a milsim that also goes in this compartment. I'll put my second. They are a weapon, in this case it is a rwa Nighthawk Custom Covert Ops 1911. Now of course it is not an echo. 1 gun but I have an echo 1 secondary case that helps protect it during travel now as the last of the large items that usually go on my right side of this case where you put it as something inconsequential wherever it fits is my belt system now this It's a Ronin Tactics Senshi belt that has an inner belt and an outer belt as a battle belt system and I'll go there now, speaking of what happens on my belts, it's really important during a Milson to have some sort of system. empty magazine retention like a garbage bag a retention system for your secondary or pistol like this Kydex holster here and to me this is just an additional retention system on my first line for the magazines that come in next is a reliable sling for my main weapon, this is an important thing during the thousand sims just because during the time you are in the field you want to be able to retain your weapon without always having to hold it, whether during transitions or during rest periods, so this is just a The Magpul ms3 sling is my top sling of choice.
I will also take my weapon style as a backup. The Frank Proctor minimalist sling is on another gun right now, but I take two slings in case one breaks or the other gets lost. For some reason I'm on a milsim with me now, even though I have weapon mounted lighting options, like my forced apl which is on my pistol or my forced wml which is on my rifles. I also take a portable option, this is important because, like in the real world. Everybody wait, I don't always want to point a gun at someone or something just to illuminate it, so I'll have a handheld light at all times so I can navigate with my hand instead of saying Gun Now for these top pockets.
I keep smaller items that I don't want to fly around inside the gear bag during the trip, so it's more of an organization thing. I keep certain items in this one and certain items in the left one just so my brain remembers where these things are now, going back to the philosophy that one is none, two is one, three is too many. I bring a ton of pairs of gloves, even some that I don't really use or like anymore, like these condor ones, honestly. I despise these types of gloves at the moment, I find them too restrictive and don't have enough tactile feel with the gun, but at worst I'd rather wear a glove than no gloves at all, so I put a pair of those in there. this pocket as well as two pairs of covert mechanical vents I really love them so again I have backups of my backups for my backups so they go here as well in this bag is where I will put head wraps or the face if I need them as some kind of head wrap or a cloth to keep the sweat out of my eyes while I have the helmet on or something like a multi wrap like this condor multi wrap just in case for my face or my head.
If I need it now, these next items that are going to go inside this pocket are actually very important and would you be surprised or not how often most airsoft players forget these things, and that is kill rag devices, now these are the fast elite force. pull the ones I love simply because they are convenient, they can go in your chest rig or your plate carrier for quick deployment here is an old style generation here is a new style generation I have another one in a different plate carrier of mine so these they definitely go there, but it's just two of those and those things are like mounted options, so I also bring a hand rag that reads because sometimes it's important, in addition to the secondary backup, now this is kind of like chamois cloth that the evic crowd gives.
I use it to clean my glasses in the field in case it's raining, same with my GoPro camera so they'll both go there too, now it's for this left side compartment so where I usually put a lot of my administrative stuff cleaning or maintenance, whether it be replacements for broken items or tools themselves, speaking of which, I always carry with me a small set of tools that I need, if I need them in the field, these I will use I generally use on the rear panel of my raider for concepts of ferrule just to have them in the field, but again for traveling, I actually just put them in this bag on the left side, besides it looks ridiculous, I also have a set of lock picks. because in the spirit of milsim you never know when you're going to need lockpicks and in an emergency you never know when you're going to need a case, so I put them in there too, yes they are completely legal. for traveling now I also put in a spare set of quick laces for my Solomon Forces boots just because again if the boots work but the laces broke fine then the boots don't really work so this is just in case of emergency now also Place a set of Ace bandages here as well, this is to comply with many American Milsim rules, but again, many Milsons these days request that you use a longer bandage type item for medical rules, so I put them in there as well .
Now I'm also a Fog Tek wipes user so I put a big bag of Fog Tech wipes in there too. I'll use several of these a day just because I have terrible fogging problems because I'm hot and sweaty dude so I put them in there too. Now I also put some sort of map retention system in my bag. This is for the field so I'll keep it in a cargo pocket with an actual map inside to pr

event

it from getting wet or destroyed while I'm in the field so that works too and although it looks small I also put in a hydration attachment for get the hydration systems that this allows me to do, actually connect this to the end of my hydration tube and fill it, fill my reservoir with a bottle without having to take off the whole kit and take out my reservoir bag, etc., so that go there too.
Now this center compartment I usually use for smaller items that I don't want to bounce around and the first thing is my radio and extra battery, so I put them in this center console. I can't stress enough communications is absolutely key during a milsim

event

if you go to a milsim event and you don't have a radio you're already screwing it up so that's something you want to prioritize now for my extra chargers for me secondary weapon that doesn't fit in my carrying case. I actually wrapped them in a muzzle device, now some factory Sims. I require you to have a barrel sock or bag barrel plug, some don't, I have one with me at all times anyway, just in case, so it goes in the center compartment along with my radio.
I put my headphones in a bag and put them in this center console as well just because I don't really like leaving actual functional headphones in my gear where they can get ripped off and lost during transportation or managing their items during the event itself while this looks like a bottle of neun tablets, which are an electrolyte tablet that you put in water that I use to hydrate during a meal. In some case this actually contains just a stick of camouflage paint that I use from time to time it has both green and brown so lighter color and a darker color for contrast and I'll keep it in this case just for so that it doesn't accidentally open and paint everything inside my kit, so that will also go here just for safety reasons, now some other things that can go into this bag depending on if it's a US or Canadian base milsim and some things I will put aside and buy when I get to the US because it is precarious to travel with these things now if it is a Canadian milsim.
Of course, I will have a large bag or box even with CO2 cartridges and that is for both my secondary pistol that currently runs on CO2 and my Thunder B cores and again, I will put the cartridges in this bag as well now if that is the case. a milsim based in the United States. I don't really take them just because I don't use them often and it just adds weight where I don't need to put weight on. One important thing to keep in mind when traveling to the United States by plane is that everything is measured by weight and size and if this becomes too heavy or if the bag itself is too big, it starts to cost you a lot of money and with this I mean it can cost you an extra hundred dollars per bag that is too big or overweight each. way of that trip so you can see how you have to be pretty economical and smart when packing this thing forLet him take care of the cargo bag itself.
Then I would just close it and you'll notice that I haven't used either of these two front pockets nor the front and back pocket that comes on this cargo bag primarily because it adds dimensional width and length to a bag that already made Specht a certain size, so which does not cost me overage charges now, another great tip for you, what I recommend you do is that you put a copy of your itinerary, that is, the time of your flight and where you will stay in the hotels, that It is not so that someone can arbitrarily review it and know where it is.
Come on, just in case the airline loses this bag and it lets the airline staff know exactly where it is during your trip so they can give it to you if they find out what really happened to me. A broken home. I lost this. bag full of all this expensive stuff for about three quarters of a day, but I got it back in the middle of the night because they knew where to bring it to me, so that's a top tip. Make sure you put a copy of our itinerary here and Of course, attach to this bag somewhere your name, address, phone number, things like that, so that if you get lost again, they'll have a way to contact you later. to return your expensive items to you, so with the larger cargo pack taken care of, I'm going to go over what I carry in my secondary storage and carry option, which is a three day L BT assault backpack.
Now this bag is where I put things like clothes, my toiletries and things like that, so let's cover that real quick now. this bag because I'm a media guy I make GoPro videos I take pictures something important that really goes in this bag will be a laptop of some kind and with that same idea I carry my camera that I will put on the camera I pack all my GoPro accessories, my DSLR, my media cards, my batteries, things like that. Now an important point, some of you might be sitting there thinking Robo, they didn't show me where they put the batteries in their charging bag and that's a really good point.
Out of habit I don't put them in my cargo bag and that's because when I fly they can't be in your checked luggage. Things like cr123 lithium batteries and lithium or lipo batteries for your AGs have to go in your carry-on luggage and this is because they have to be accessible if they catch on fire when they are in the lower storage area of a plane, no one It can reach them while you are in the air and that is a real danger. Now, going further, I bring my entire EEG. lipo bags in a lipo safe fireproof bag just in case, both will go in my carry on.
What's also going to go in this bag are things like my underwear options or clothing options that I'm going to wear under my BTUs, so that's really important. I take three or four pairs of compression sports underwear. I don't wear cotton underwear because that can be very irritating once they sweat to the same level. I take a lot of pairs of tactical or outdoor socks, now I usually wear both. my original swat tactical socks plus some Kodiak outdoor socks and in the same vein I also wear compression style base layer t-shirts that wick away moisture and whatnot while I'm sweating in a long sleeve BTU t-shirt so I'll take three or four of these too and I put them in the bag now while I fly.
Technically I'm wearing one pair of my Salomon boots with another pair of Salomon boots in my bag. I want to consider some type of comfortable footwear to wear. While I'm not in the milsim camp, whether it's a pair of running shoes or casual skate shoes, whatever you feel comfortable wearing, but not something you've been wearing all day, this can change your life immensely, So for me it's something like that. these lalo zodiac recon running shoes or even these lallo blood bird sneakers or it's just something comfortable that I can slip into the bag and also carry with me, so now, speaking of specific hardware items, I'm going to make a very important point .
And I suggest that everyone at some point invest in a hard rifle case and that's because when it comes to airline flying you actually need a hard case of some kind, now this doesn't really apply if you're just driving somewhere, but at the end of the day, if you ever plan on taking a plane or just want the real protective qualities of a hard case, I would say go out and grab it now, this is obviously a Pelican case. the 1700 case and there's a specific reason why it's the 1700 that I'll talk about in a second. No need to invest in Pelican;
There are other great options, like Seahorse or other companies at a lower price like the one you offer. similar protection now, going back to why I chose this 1700, the 1700 comfortably fits a rifle plus accessories, as you'll see in a second, but limits this size to just under the oversized baggage limit on an airline for go to the 1750, which can Putting two rifles comfortably in there means you're paying an extra hundred dollars for each way of travel on an airline, so I didn't want to do that, so this is where you'll see where I deviate from two is two is one is no philosophy and that is that now I only pick up a rifle, this is a risk, but it is a calculated risk based on cost versus reward.
At Mills Mill Simms there are plenty of tech wizards running around who are more than happy to show you their skills at fixing your stuff when it blows up, so I'll take the risk of carrying just one rifle at the expense of not having to pay an extra $200 in repair fees. luggage, so as you see, I had the foam insert for my case that I cut out. all the fancy shapes of all the things I carry here now, that just provides additional security while my things go through the air transportation system and for any of you who have ever traveled by plane, you probably know and assume very well that your things is being thrown by someone who doesn't give a shit how much is inside, so having the added security of foam is just a backup plan for that guy who lets you know 15 dollars an hour and who is throwing your thing away from one. transporter to another, as you can clearly see here, I have a place for my rifle, two different optic variants, depending on my personal preference on what I want to use on the day I have my d bell and my six. primary magazines that use an internal milsim, I use six because I find this to be the best balance between my body weight, the utility of my weapon, the time it literally takes me to die and having to respawn where I can reload anyway now in this little slit here, I have an extra barrel and generally an extra jump system in case mine wants to shit on the bed for whatever reason and I also keep a suppressor in this little compartment here too just for a laugh if I want to add .
I take it all the way to the end of my gun to see now that it pretty much takes care of the rifle case because it's pretty simple. It's there to protect the things that I'm taking these expensive items that I've invested in and making sure that they're safe and they get to my final destination now as a final note that I want to leave you with is to get good locks for your things, especially if They are going to travel by plane. I put in one of these TSA approved cable combinations. I lock one in my cargo bag and put two in my rifle case.
Now the reason I mentioned the TSA approved look for this logo is a little three dimensional red square or cube shaped icon, what that icon means is that it's TSA. approved and it has a small key lock on the side that allows TSA to open this lock without needing your combination so they can inspect the contents and pass it through security if they have any concerns and why that is important because without this they need to call you over the airport loudspeaker hoping to listen and listen in time to get there, deal with the situation and still board if you don't guess what the TSA doesn't care if you don't get on the plane or your items. they're not getting on the plane, so again look for a TSA approved lock, lock your gun case, and lock your actual cargo, so there you have it, which pretty much takes care of this first episode of Robo Philosophy.
I hope you found it useful now. In terms of more Robo philosophy episodes, I'll cover things like tactics I use in the field and other logistical things I use to stay organized or things that help me plan a milsim event. Stay tuned for those to come in the future. Now it's for my other video series, like my gameplay and my reviews, which are still to come. I have a ton of games and reviews in the works for you.
