Renting AMI Ruckus Rake and Kubota Skid Steer For Yard Project

May 30, 2022
hello everyone welcome to the video welcome to the channel if you remember in the previous video we were on a perfect dirty

skid

steer

we had some weather issues and of course breakdowns but i think we fixed everything let me show you what we're coming in good so we're trying to level this out a bit in previous videos there's a chicken coop here we moved the chicken coop down there we also started building a barn for the chickens and the goats the goats will eventually be fenced off in this field down here and now we're trying to gain a little bit of a level side

yard

from the whole test the reference marks i made here increase the grade from here to there so i have a little bit of an idea where i need to start going up the hill and it should be able to transport it from there and all that dirt is coming down here at this low point to take this from high to low cut and fill in the basic things that you have to do in the south of in bullseye to get some group level And I think this guy here will probably have to go to this little maple tree here which isn't the most attractive maple tree anyway, remember the goats will come out this side of the barn.

Picture the fence that goes across into the field so we'll go ahead and get that guy out then we can piece this dirt together too since we had an oil leak last time probably out if you guys can hold that for me thanks oh it looks good it looks good and there's a tear in this track I trimmed it you can tell the chainsaw is sharp look at those cuts huh nice rubber chips yeah I trimmed it so it doesn't snag so much , hopefully, and avoid tearing, the bummer is that tearing. I mean it goes everywhere where the cut is so the tracks are expensive we really don't want to spoil it go ahead and turn on the comment generator yeah I'm gonna bury all that say what you want that's what want. what to do I could burn it I could have it taken to where it's going to be buried or I could just bury it and be done with it so we're just going to bury it that's what we're doing tracks hate rocks and we've got a lot of rocks so one thing we're going to do as a run today since we've got teeth we're going to keep the teeth down each time a little more than we normally would but we're trying to keep the rocks in front of the machine or getting into the bucket and keeping them from going under the tracks is a bit of a concern because we're slowly picking around the edge of this stump there's no movement here but it's not even wiggling so we're in the bucket all the way it's all three On either side we can access the walnut trees, I don't know if you can see down there, there's a tap root right there, hickory trees have tap roots, which means it doesn't just go left to right, it goes down, that's That's what we're struggling with but since we're all the way under we're finally starting to get some movement trying not to spin my tracks too much or because it's a good way to cut through the rubber tracks when you have rocks spinning them a little rocky motion here.

Out there, oh, can you, can you still hear me? barn we're gonna try to get around that oh yeah here we go i should do it there's a new wireless mic pack that just came out like a month ago i'm going to order later this week I won't wait to get it because I want to get feedback from your guys on it, oh yeah, or keep an oil level. I will check throughout the day. This strip here will stay for now as I move away from our parking area down here. course and 10 year plan we'll put some concrete steps or something in there so that would be kind of what stays here but just got to work that bench moving so we're slowly starting to work our plan through 10 year long term there will be a concrete wall that goes right here with a detached garage which is like 10 years down the line but this all has to come out anyway so I'm not too worried about what it does to this railroad tie wall up here if it moves moves long term it will come out anyway it has a bit of a slope here so we walk down concrete stairs at some point we can take some of those flat rocks and make some stone stairs at the moment the chickens are out loving the critters we're spawning it's doing its regeneration thing right now i love that well we just have to something like that work here mix this up and we'll be ready for the power Rake this is the Power Raker Ruckus Rake is the brand on this we get the rest of that dirty move we'll be ready to use this try and get it all mixed up so the words you should never say is we're just doing a co a couple of last passes and we'll move on to the next step those are the words you should never say how that happens that's not a good step one that the fit is broken inside that block i couldn't find the size i need but we'll try to use this and get that out of there.

I'm going to drag them down a bit. Oh hell, it's loose. I'm not even going to have to drive that there. Look at this. being able to turn it straight how lucky a guy can be oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah now the hell is none of the three stores that sell hydraulic fittings hydraulic fittings where we are will have this hydraulic fitting I know I've never seen it here so It's the next day and I finally located the accessories. It was at the third dealer I called who actually had one in stock. that distributor is getting further and further away obviously after a three hour round trip this morning i was able to recover i went ahead and picked up two in case we break another one as it was a pain this time but i picked up the piece now i know what you're thinking mike it's a pretty basic fit it's just a -ring bulge on one side ok i thought the same thing but it's actually a parallel uk thread or parallel uk thread which not your typical tapered tube thread we are used to british thread parallel on both sides this is british parallel thread with an o-ring this is british parallel thread with whatever our local tractor shops didn't have them and the place we go to get our hydraulic hoses made didn't have them now a typical hydraulic supply store would probably have them but that's about the same distance as the dealer so I went to the dealer they were like 10 d olars a piece, like I said, I went ahead and got two of them, so if it ever happens again, we're covered.

It all comes back together and then I'll cast a time lapse and won't talk to you again until you know we've got the electric

rake

s in the

skid

steer

. back on every time I have all these edges like that I like to pull everything to me and then I can take the long passes to clean everything up that's what we're going to do so I like this

rake

overall it does a pretty good work but if i have one complaint it's how far this thing leans back i used to have a harley rake for this and we could lean it back a little bit more we could work these steep banks like this but i can't work that steep bank no I can work that transition as this doesn't lean back enough I put too much pressure on those tires it's just not working and it's ok we're just throwing a little clover here and call it good enough I don't plan on making a golf course out of it , but it would be nice if this thing would just back off a bit. a little bit more so we can work on things like that in our area we have a lot of those benches now that everything is out there I can come here and do my long passes and push everything like that so that's okay I guess we'll take this off we'll say I'm not sure though I'm a big fan of this hose route I don't want to slide off look it's already worn down to the metal where it's there that's not it that's halfway down that hose yeah I think we need to hold on while we separate her.
He has a good fire hose and don't get me wrong. I am as surprised as you that a hydraulic hose that does a 90 over the edge of a metal on an implement that causes a lot of vibration would actually rub there. I'm also surprised, but he sure did. That's crazy. That's pretty wild. a pizza plus pizza pizza oh pizzazz was going to mispronounce pizzazz plus and quesadillas i got these s in the goodwill for two bucks i still have the sticker what a bargain sometimes people ask what's in this pickup trailer on mike's lot it's just a straw farmer chris grows straw and row crops so mike just buys a trailer full of straw every year this is what we end up with man it looks amazing that will be a nice little side

yard

pretty sweet sight now we pretty much just finished doing the canvas of course there will be a lot of work to do in the future like fire pit seating areas other things but this is a pretty fucked up big step and let's see it down here as far as the barn goes and yes sadly the chickens will have They have to stay in their new pen for a few weeks as the grass comes up because if we let them out they'll scratch all this up and eat any seeds and kill any weeds that come up, so they have to stay in the race, but they have a nice big race, they seem pretty happy there, so we'll be able to get down here. eventually it will all be gravel all the way nd to this tree so we can bring a four wheeler side by side whatever and pull it right here unload what we need through the gate there will be a fence post there and the fence for the goats will run from that post there and then there will be a gate here that will open which means you will be able to come down here to unload as we talked about opening the gate you can just keep driving forward with whatever the tractor has, side by side , the four wheeler, will then have access to this area which will also be gravel so we can back out or go back to the barn to clean out the barn or whatever we want to do or we can keep driving straight ahead and that's the new access field to the field so the fence will fall around that way and of course fence we probably won't do the whole field the first time we'll probably only do maybe half the field but that gets us it will give access to the field and then of course that gives ghost access to the field so the side yard will be fenced off separate the goats and chickens and things won't all be in the side yard like they used to be here like they used to be the chickens everyone will have access to the field very easily i think it will work very very well we still have this maple here we can cut it down and burn it later or cut it down and let it rot or whatever we want don't worry too much so we got really lucky here this is about four feet in the ground now which is ok because this is a black wattle tree and if you don't know black wattle makes fantastic fence posts it lasts as long or more than cedar and that's the right size for a fence post and that's the corner of the barn so we'll probably end up ripping it out at some point and using it as a corner post and we're going to use a lot of black locusts for our fence post because buo eno because well because we have it and I really don't feel like paying for the fence posts when we have them growing on the property I don't know again look at it from this side imagine the gate here sticking out the fence post right over here the fence running into that maple tree and then out and around the edge of the field gate here that opens to that fence, I think it's going to be a pretty good setup, it should work pretty well and address all the concerns we had about it.
