Rebuilding A 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Part 16

May 30, 2021
Well guys I don't think this is for us thanks Hugh mate, as much as I would love to do it I don't think we should do it because it can be a bit dangerous yeah what's up guys welcome back to the channel so today we're finally back in our

2020

Jeep

gladiator

Rubicon and as you know we put all our other builds on pause while we built the apocalyptic rig, now that this sucker is about 98% complete we're getting back to the Jeep , I mean, all we have left for that thing is a few more little things, but for the most

part

, that sucker is ready for adventure, since for our Jeep here we rebuilt this sucker to OEM specs and added some spare

part

s. replacement like the great ones.

About the conversion lift kit, some nice wheels and tires as well as a procharger supercharger. This thing is absolutely equipped, but it's not finished because we even have a whole forklift full of spare parts, so let's go ahead and bring those parts and show you what. Let's do it Chuey man, it's been a minute since we came back to the dog howling network. I almost forgot how beastly this thing is. See how I got out of there and then went right through that crap? Just keep a constant speed, it won't get stuck. I put it in second gear every time I went to that pothole man something came out like it was no problem but if we were stuck it wouldn't be a big deal because what we have now would probably have uprooted a Puckle tree, it's perfect for get heavy equipment out of there if it ever became necessary, but anyway we have a ton of spare parts here in Maine, this isn't even all of it buddy, it's like the Big Parts, we still have a ton inside the garage, so , what are you saying?

Take everything out. Show them what we're going to do. Let's do it right. So we go ahead and drop some of these boxes here and, as you can see, some. of those packages were completely destroyed by the weather, especially last night because we had some severe storms and even a few tornadoes touched down. We are very lucky to not be hit here because right at the end of the road some places were hit pretty hard, I even tried to help by clearing some of the trees that fell on the roads. Let me show you some of those pictures right now on the ice, so we ended up here, we cleaned the whole trip, yeah, I don't know if we're allowed. to do this, but you know, we just got rid of the tree, left the pole that we didn't want to mess with, there's actually a phone table right there, that phone wire and legally I don't think we can mess with that.

So let's leave that at home, let the professionals do it, but anyway let's go ahead and pack up, probably move on to the next place, well guys, I don't think this is for us. Thank you, Hugh, as much as I do. I always love to do it, I don't think we should do it because it can be a little dangerous, yeah we have some high power power lines right there so we might have to get past this one, yeah let's go ahead and go around this. it's passing by that property right there if you go all the way no we're just going to have to go back but watch out for dangers so we might even have to go straight back yeah let's get those legs out this is crazy right here. but let's move on and see if we can help somewhere else, possibly another, yeah, sketchy friend, I mean, we have our chainsaws, we trim them, but then the parallel lines scare me a little.

Do you think we can handle this? I think we can go back under that, start cutting things, let them drop you, no wonder electricity can travel through branches and all that, I don't think it can, but anyway, dude, no. I know if we could do it on this one. I'm going to have to do some Googling and see if it's legal, so we don't try to help as much as possible, but there is a lot we can do, especially with all the high voltage power lines, and we talked to some locals too if we could help somewhere else and they are letting all the professionals handle it right now because there are a lot of workers doing their jobs, but our thoughts and prayers are with the people who were affected. and we hope they stay strong, that's okay now, let's move on and get back to work.
Hey, this is pretty cool, you're going to give us some traction from the front, that's for sure, but anyway, as you can see, we. I probably chose the perfect front bumper for our build because I like how short it is, as you can see in this stock bumper. I think it's too long and this one will make the front end look a lot more aggressive and you can put a winch on it here which we have on some pod lights and if you wanted a thirty inch light bar we could do that we could do all that stuff , I think we could, and also with some D rings, maybe some red ones, I don't.
I don't know D, are you a fan of D rings? I don't care, I mean they hate, they come in handy when you need a pole or something exactly like that anyway, what do you want to do? Do you want to move forward? Actually, take off this front bumper. and first let's open up the hardware, see what we have there and then we'll start removing the original bumper. Let's do it right, so we had to stop here and admire these beautiful shackles because we were just talking about Them and I opened the box and it turns out they were some disgusting looking red shackles.
Oh, look at those things. We always liked the steel ones. I think these are aluminum because they are super light and look how you have to like it. undo them just to take them off. They're nice and they'll look great with that black bumper over there, but we don't see a winch plate yet because this thing doesn't have a winch plate on the back, so I'm sure one of these boxes does, once As we find everything and more the hardware we will continue to start removing the original bumper so finally we remove our front bumper and as you can see our exhaust valve surgery valve is actually It will be in the way of our winch so we're going to have to relocate this suction cup somewhere next to the inlet so let's go ahead and figure out how we're going to relocate this and then we're going to install our winch plate and then we're going to show you the winch that we have for this so finally we relocate our valve of bleed and we also fully assembled our front bumper here with our skid plate and also our lights, but before we can throw this sucker away.
We're going to go ahead and show you our new 10,000 pound warm winch right here with synthetic rope. This thing is going to be an absolute beast, but before I open this sucker, I want to say a big thank you to our backers. at Road Armor and reckless off-road for supplying us with some of these parts and also for having some of the best deals on the market, so I will definitely leave their link below if you want to get some aftermarket items, but with that being said, let's open this sucker and let's see what it's about son we've never had a warm winter in any of our

jeep

s before if we'd never used one of these cheaper models from Ransom and they did pretty well but I just want to know how well it does It's going to this one, man, 10,000 pounds of synthetic rope and it's already wound up.
Usually you have to wind the strings right, yeah it's a little difficult actually, winding those suckers, you have to put them under tension and stuff and this all feels like it's under a good tension, so let's move on. I think the first thing we want to do is throw this sucker in there, run the cables to the battery and just tighten it up, son, look dad, that's got to be the perfect front bumper for any Jeep JT of that model of this model. I mean, it looks perfect and I'll be 18 and up. 20 18 onwards. Exactly, that's so good, I'll give you a lot of free space here now, let's go ahead and do the test.
I try it, man, where's that remote? In winter the fog lights turn on the winch first because we go ahead and plug it in and watch us remove it before you see the tab or before the battery use a wireless remote yes wireless remote or you can plug it in think if you plug it in like you charge it or something, I really don't know, but here you go, hey, that's me, go ahead, I'm going to go ahead and grab this, oh, you might need, you might need to charge it or something. . Oh, Santa, gosh, hey.
Dad just left this world here man, that's new technology. I never had a wireless remote control for this treadmill that's awesome man now we just need to invent a wireless tracker that we can walk outside and track it from outside. I would be sick, but what do you think of one so different from these? You know, they have those ones that have a hole in them or something like yeah, they get the best ones. I don't remember what it's called, but maybe like a nice red. one or something like that that would look sick right there like that every time we push it to the bottom it just stops like here you know what I mean it would be sweet but look at this wave man it's sick it ain't wonder how many friends this thing can handle here I guess and a thousand right or is it ten thousand I don't know but ten thousand I can handle ten thousand don't try more roulette or less let's hope you try me or less but anyway let's go ahead and move on to the bumper rear before we move on to the rear bumper, let's test these fog lights because we installed the fog lights, but I think you have to turn it on, yeah, we actually used the original wiring harness that we just touched on.
That way we don't have to spend all that time doing all the wiring and stuff like that, so let's go ahead and turn it on and see if they light up okay, so that's it for the front bumper. I have to say I completely transformed that. The front looks perfect, there's still a lot more aftermarket stuff to come for this, right now we'll jump to the rear and see what the rear bumper looks like and then we'll probably start removing the original one now. One of the biggest things we were looking for is actually something that looks better than this.
You know what I mean? The original rear bumper looks amazing, so what do you say? What do you think? I can't really see it from here. I mean it looks pretty good, honestly we're going to have to put it to the test, you know what I mean, because we were honestly thinking it's not a new aftermarket rear bumper because of how good the original Rubicon looks there , it's pretty good, but This is a full metal, so it will definitely work a lot better, like ending up bouncing off rocks and all that, but anyway, let's go ahead and take the original off and put this one in and see how it looks, so we simply remove the original. rear bumper here and we found out that this sucker is actually metal, which is pretty cool, but we're going to go ahead and use the road armor because this sucker is a lot beefier and we also found out that we're going to have to do a lot of grinding and cutting. some of these brackets here, but it's late at night now and that's because installing the front bumper and winch took a lot longer than expected, so we'll have to continue brightly tomorrow.
Early morning the next day here guys, let's go ahead and continue with this rear bumper, all we have to do is remove a few more things and then cut a few things and then we should be able to put our mark. new bumpers so the rear bumper is finally on and I have to say it looks pretty cool especially with these red shackles here and we also relocated this trailer plug and we also have some LED license plate lights in there as for these holes right here , this is going to be some flush mount LEDs we had to order them on Amazon, they should be here very soon, moving on to this bar here, we didn't have to remove it because it actually works with the original bumper, but I think we could actually for to work with this bumper we're just going to have to trim this bracket off as it's really nice to have especially if you bought them on something it's definitely going to protect that bed right there so let's go ahead maybe cut this sucker off.
We touched up some paint and got it looking good, so finally we modified our bed sliders, painted them and put them back on, and I must say they look pretty good, they will definitely come in handy when we are up and about offroad, but of Anyway we still have a lot more packages we need to unpack and we're going to move on to these ones on the floor. I'm pretty sure these are actually our Rock Cider Sliders, so let's go ahead and open up these suckers and see what they look like, so let's open up our Rock Cider Kit and try it out just to see what it's going to look like.
I must say that it will look absolutely amazing and we will have to delve into this completely new side. Which means there's no turning back, but you know whatwhich I definitely think is going to be worth it, especially when we're going to be a rock crawling, you don't want to damage this body at all, but we'll probably save this stuff for the next video because there's a lot of work just to install these suction cups, these spiders here mount right on the body support, center here and there will be a lot of drilling, just install the nuts or the inserts, whatever you have to do to get them. with the dummies installed it's like a two part system but it will definitely be worth it so we'll save that for the next video from now on we'll move on to what's left on that forklift a bunch more aftermarket parts , so go ahead and open up some more things and show you what else we have good, so let's empty this box here and put all the parts on the floor and look at this whole sea of pieces here, let's go ahead and move on to the first piece and this is our front fender, they are all Road Armor parts, they got a complete kit, much like buying a body kit for a car.
This is a body kit for a

jeep

, but it is probably one of the most attractive. It is beautiful, elegant and aggressive. Look at that LED light that we're going to put there and that's going to be the front turn signal. remove that big old fender in that big light and this will look a lot better as well as the rear fender here it just flows perfectly with a front and rear bumper like I said it's like a complete body kit and we move on. to the inner fenders here look at these suction cups right here stainless steel and man look at that, I don't even know how they make this suction cup, probably a press or something, but on the bottom here it's wrapped I guess so as not to damage it. but this was still too so it won't rust, we are thinking of painting it gloss black or maybe like a textured paint.
I think it will look pretty cool, I guess we'll find out once we install it. these suckers, as you can see here, we have a ton of parts and all of these things need to be screwed together, but this will definitely be in the next video and also, it's not even all of our spare parts because we still have a lot of them. more I'll give you a little preview of what's going on inside the Jeep here, just a quick look, and that's all you have, but pretty much what we're trying to do is tear this build down.
If it were 100% that way, we might hop back on a pops truck and finish that sucker too because it's going to be a sick build, but once all these builds are done we'll have more epic stuff on the way, so with all that said, let's make sure your post notifications are on so you don't miss anything and also, if you want to get the inside scoop before YouTube, definitely follow us on Instagram at Goon Squad and if you want to help support your guys, definitely make sure to check out Goon. team, calm down and copy some merch, but that will be it for today.
