right there um how are you? how can you tell me a little bit about thebook
well the book is a fun book you know sometimes you have books autobiographies that really dive into things this is just a fun book you can flip through it you can read it cover to cover it hasrecipes
new stories photos people haven't seen before talking about my family my faith my friends and then recipes that are from natoka oklahoma restaurant calledreba
's place it starts with a ford from your friend garth brooks yeah it's a love letter to you it's a love letter for Oklahoma huh Garth talks a lot about your work ethic where does that come from?Come from mom and dad, uh girl, what did I teach you? Well number one, be ready, be ready, be on time and if you say you're going to do something, follow it no matter if you don't want to do it or something. a better offer comes along if you say you're going to do something do it honestly yes and your word means something you have a great little quote i read in the book you also think about life you need all three remember the three bones yes tell everyone they have Funny Bone in the spine you must have all your Wishbone your funny bone and not a spine yes those three things yes little tool kits have in life it really is if you have those three things you have . the determination the drive but the humor when things are not going well you can dust it off and move on and along with the book there are remastered songs what comes with the book musically well are songs that I went into the studio with Dave Cobb and re-recorded and then we have four songs new, well, songs we did later, yeah, um like Georgia and uh, the duet with Ronnie and kicks Brooks and Dunn, so it's great music along with a fun book, you talk a little bit.
A little bit about your past and then we talk about your mom. Your mom wanted to be a country singer and she taught you and your brothers to sing. Of course, three out of four of you would continue to sing. What was it like for her to see it? dream come true through her kids, well she was just as nervous as we were when we went on stage, she would take someone's hand and squeeze it so hard and, you know, so stressful for her, but she was channeling all her energy into us and she would utter every word we sang, she lives vicariously through you, yeah, because she couldn't go do what she wanted to do and that's what she told me when she first went to Nashville.
She was afraid of it and said if you don't Don't do this let's just go home but if we go to Nashville I'll live all my dreams through you and I said ok shoot why didn't you say that at the beginning? Yeah come on Reba the one you talk about in the book too when she passed away it was hard for you you almost had to find a spark to get that passion for music back what kind of rekindled your love for music I think it was my heartbreak my sadness that mom was not going to be with us on earth anymore and i told susie my little sister i said man i dont even think she wants to come back she said you will get it back how did you get it back? at home I was still in Oklahoma and I started to miss it because I felt like mom was still with me and I know she would be cheering me up it's a great book so you're on The Voice which is so exciting for us that maybe of course you remember this when the program, no one knew about the voice.
We invite you to become one of our coaches. At first, it didn't work. it was his last name huh exactly and here it is now you are our Mega Mentor how fun was that for you that was so much fun that show is a well worked machine and i enjoyed coming back after all these years and getting to hang out with Blake and Kelly and learning about the opportunity and now it was a really fun time. What are you trying to teach young artists? What do you tell them and is it mainly communication with the audience?
They have the technique and my point was to basically sell the song to the audience with your eyes, make eye contact and it was a lot of fun, they're like sponges, they really want some help, some instruction, but some of them, oh my gosh! could teach me a lot yes a lot of well spoken talent last season so that big red chair will be empty just keep that in mind because it would be nice for you to know that real country royalty sits in that chair for once um speaking of country i was your tour i just finished you're in new york and you played madison square garden how was that that was wonderful you know i'm the third mcintyre to come to madison square garden grand papa was there in the 30's daddy was there in the roadies um yeah they were roping and then here we have to show up so Allison Susie my sisters my son Shelby and my niece Chisholm who was representing the McIntyre family there's Saturday night well you're such an inspiration you Feel like family every time that you are here, thank you, glad to have you, congratulations on the book, congratulations on the tour, the new music and the voice.
