Quorthon Interview on MTV Headbangers Ball (DVD)

May 10, 2020
When we started we were very influenced by Motörhead and you can hear it from the first things we did and then listening to your own band from Newcastle a couple of years ago, what would that be? Nine years ago, we realized that yes, it can be done. I did that, but the other guys in the band were sick of Saxon and our awesome and it took a lot of convincing to convince them to go faster and sing about this satanic thing with it there for three records and then it hit me. that are in my letters.

I was more or less critical of this whole religious thing than I thought and I realized that Sweden had a very interesting mythology of its own, the Viking thing, and it had to be done the right way so that people wouldn't do it. I don't think you took it seriously, yes, we would do rape and looting, it was just a story like this, I think we haven't decided if we want to make another studio album because, as I said before we went from 12 of the Gods to where you would have to go one step further and then maybe people wouldn't be able to understand it and it would just be absolutely nothing and otherwise you could go back and do what you did five years ago and then you wouldn't make any progress anyway that you could get certified in musically or you could say this, find some people and sell seven records and make sure you make some money and if that's what you want, if that's the releases you have, that's fine, but what we'll do is give Liam things first now and others early next year and if it turns out to be a success, if we surprise people in a positive way with this unreleased material that is in these two series, then maybe we will investigate. a little deeper into what we have on tape and petcock with something next summer, we used two tracks that were recorded on a four channel rig in July, I think 83 and I never intended to end up on vinyl, the reason why The reason I did it was because a lot of fans had written for years asking for demos and we said we never made any demos and because we obviously didn't end up in that situation where we had to make demos to get a record deal because we ended up with two tracks on the compilation album already. in January 1984 and since then we made an album like I said every 20 months so we've been picking favorite tracks from the archive of each and every one of those albums, three or four of each album was the best and I just remastered it and I put it in a sort of marble package and hopefully the '83 and '84 records will enjoy it the same way they did back then.
