Feb 27, 2020
What's going on guys, welcome back to another video. In today's video we will focus on our

2015

Mustang that we purchased at the salvage auction with some serious frame damage on the left side. It has a tool pen that is broken so we got a new one and will be replacing it today but I just want to address some of the comments you guys have been leaving. Thanks for all the comments. I love reading it. I love answering some of them, so go ahead and keep them. Come on, but a lot of you were asking what we're actually going to put in the old Mustang.

We're going to put every part of this car we can in there, like all the wiring harnesses we're going to put in there. I also want to try to put in the ABS, the brake booster and the big brakes that this thing has, it doesn't have the performance package brakes because this is the 50th Anniversary Mustang, which is cool because they only made 1960. four of these cars, which is pretty impressive. I didn't even know it was a 50th anniversary until it came to the shop, but now let's go ahead and put this piece on the lift and we'll change it completely to have the car moved into the lift area.

Now we're going to go ahead and remove this door here so that every time we remove the oil pan we can go in and start the car through the door. Surprisingly, the cables don't look like that. Re rip, so we can probably use it on our other Mustang. Put this aside now that we take the door away from them. Go ahead and sit here, Flintstone, this car inside on the elevator, so we push the car here and I. I'm not really sure where to put these shift arms. I guess we can put it right here, frame, well, what's left of the frame, I just try to stick it somewhere around here that's safe, oh yeah, that will work and over here we.

We'll just put it back to the factory solder. I think it should work, it won't slide right there. You can go ahead and put some straps in there just to be safe, so we have all the helmet points secured on the Mustang. let's go ahead and get this up, hopefully it will fall off and cause more damage, no need to put it back up, so we have the

mustang

nice and safe in the air, now let's go ahead and go for a hike. Underneath what we have here I didn't notice that the subframe is a little bit right here, but the good thing is that these subframes are pretty cheap and oh man, we just found some rust here, it's time to cut this bad boy down. half, but now.

Let's go ahead and move on to suspension. We've got some pretty good suspension components here, as you can see the tie rod isn't bent and that's usually the first thing that bends in the suspension, but everything looks pretty solid and check it out. In fact, we have an airbag suspension right in the front, in the rear, that's going to be really awesome. We'll put it in the '66 Mustang. Now let's continue backtracking. We also notice that the suffering is bent back here, but most of the other components are visible. like they're good like the steering looks good there's nothing broken there and we're using everything on this car and the

engine

mounts on the

engine

are actually broken that's why the oil pan is broken right here , the whole engine moved forward and I guess that's how I drilled it right there, but the engine looks good, as you saw in the last video, it's not broken, all the brackets are on, so that's a pretty good thing and, also if we get to the back of the transmission we also got really lucky with the transmission as you can see this bracket is completely detached from the car but it bolts on here so it's awesome and doesn't look like it's broken on any other place by the driveshaft and the good thing is this car has a two piece driveshaft and that's what makes it bend like a banana so it didn't break the transmission or the differential in the rear but man , just look at this right here, look at this damage, I'm literally standing right where the driver is. sits down, but this is right where you would sit, that's crazy, let's go ahead and keep moving towards the back of the car, we have a nice fuel tank back here, you could use this fuel tank, well, we could get a cell of fuel, but it's just nice to have and the rear subframe doesn't look too bad, all the control arms don't look nice and straight either, the rear differential isn't broken either, as you can see on these brackets here, everything is nice and solid, so it's amazing it just saves us time and money and we also have an airbag suspension in the rear, we have a broken swivel in the rear, that's fine, nothing important here, this control from here he could be back, but we won't know until we have him.
This is fine in the lineup until we put that car on the lightweight machine, but we could buy a new one and compare them and see what it's like and we'll also get to the rear, we have the factory Ford Racing exhaust, but it's nice. of bending, I think it's just this side, this side is completely crushed, it's got a lot of damage up there, but now let's go ahead and lower this car and take out this engine, so we lower the car, let's start by just taking most of the front off. and make sure there's nothing in the belts so let's go ahead and take everything out of the front okay guys so let's take everything out in the front and see how bad this car is twisted if you look. on the left frame rail it's pushed all the way down this frame rail is pushed like this and everything looks like it's moved back if you see here it all comes stuff that's crazy but now let's go ahead and remove the subframe so we can catch you . the oil pan so let's go ahead and take these wheels off so we lift the wheel up and check these giant brakes that are on our '66 Mustang because we're going to need some serious stopping power because I'm planning on doing either. twin turbo or supercharger, go ahead and leave some comments below so you can play around and start looking for some parts because this build goes pretty fast.
Now let's go ahead and remove these brake lines and the ABS line that we don't want. let's break anything because we're using everything so we disconnect this whole side let's go do the other side we disconnect both brake lines on both sides and the ABS sensor and we also go ahead and remove the airlines from the airbag system now I need to go ahead and remove the front subframe, so what we're going to do is lift up the engine in the rear. I was thinking about securing it here, but that's not going to work, so we're actually going to Lift up the engine in the rear, lower the subframe and replace the old pan, the steering is disconnected and we go ahead and unbolt both stressed.
Now we're going to slide this jack down and go through the subframe down after unscrewing it. Except convince her of the evil, we take the suffering out of there and just support the engine with a jack right there, but we'll probably use a good strap that goes all the way to the shock towers right here, it'll just go underneath to hold it up and we're about to start replacing the oil pan, but check this out, we've got the suspension here next to the '66 Mustang and man, it almost lines up, it's a little too wide, so we're either going to make some adjustments to the hood arms or we're going to do a nice little wide body on the car, so now let's go ahead and replace the old plan on the Mustang, so here's the old frying pan, right here, we actually bought this thing from the manufacturer, really cheap, that's like seventy dollars.
I was actually surprised, let's go ahead and see what we have here and I actually came with this old sensor which is pretty cool, it's built in, so let's go ahead and put this in the car to get the old oil. scroll down and check that's where it had a pretty good impact, but here's the new one, here it's the same, it looks exactly the same, so let's go ahead and put this on, then nice and safe on the car, now let's go. Go ahead and fill this with some wool and see if this starts. We are already using only this cheap one.
Riley's room didn't really feel like spending all our money on a motor that might be bad so we were just going to run it for about 10 seconds and if it's okay we'll drain it and put it all in there in the car, now it's time to go ahead and start, it's the moment of truth, fingers crossed, hopefully this bad boy starts, oh, it's making some kind of noise, let's go ahead and see, oh, we have to put the lid back on to see what happens again and it's going to shut down because there's no coolant at all, so now that we know the engine is running, we're going to go ahead and start taking it.
I'm not too sure about the transmission, but it goes through all the gears, there's no binding or lag, so let's go ahead and get this motor here. It should be pretty simple because we take almost everything out, all we have to do is disconnect the manifolds. and the drive shafts and they should look good guys, that's going to be a wrap for this video. We put a lot of work into this Mustang. We remove the engine and transmission. It was quite difficult because everything was stuck there. but if you enjoyed today's video, go ahead and hit the subscribe button, like it and stay tuned for many more videos and be sure to follow me on Instagram at be tuned.
