Pt.2 | LAMBO KILLER BUILD | 600HP AWD TURBO HONDA CIVIC | Bolt on Awd Setup!

Feb 27, 2020
Hey guys, welcome to part 2 of the Honda Civic AWD

turbo

housing series and as you can see we have a nice engine, everything mounted there, a nice

turbo

manifold with nice ports, we have a dummy intercooler, but it have. I have a problem, so if you follow me under the car, how can you have an all wheel drive Civic if you don't have a differential and axles in the rear? So today I went back to the shop and brought these guys over here. let them drive for a while let them come home and have dinner with Jamie baby but look at that new diff not the axles removed because I think I could only use one of these axles and when we were moving the diff and they kind of came out so I need remove this and I think I might try to cut and weld one up to try to get it in but yeah a lot of people I just did a quick live stream on Instagram talking about this whole rear

bolt

setup

so this is the urban performance

setup

of the hub and you can see it's basically a

bolt

on the rear trailing arm and it has a bushing right there that goes to the axle and then it has the bolt on the rear differential mount here, so basically if you get under the car, the rear differential mount differential goes here, differential goes there, obviously, we're going to have to move the gas tank, remove the gas tank, but these Civics don't have provisions for all-wheel drive, so you can't, you can't.

You don't put a damn axle through that so you have to do it basically if people have done it before and basically what they do is take things out of a wag oh man they take like a waggle band rear differential and they take this EK. rear differential and they cut them out and welded them together, made a jig and that's how you get all-wheel drive, but Hub City came out with this bolt-on kit, we basically bolted it together, they did all the work. You, everything is nice and pretty, everything nice and pretty, painted, looks like that, so I had to paint the other things to match, so I'm very excited about those things, but I guess, moving forward, the only thing that What remains to be done is Bolton friction, so we need.

What you need to do is take the gas tank out and then take these factory control arms off and we'll go over a little bit more stuff when we get started on that. Hey guys, we have all factory rear lower control arms. The brakes just hang like damn piñatas down here, so one of the things we need to do, you see, I went ahead and bolted this to the billet bracket all the way to the bottom. One of the things you really have to do here is you. We have to make a notch in the subframe so basically you have to go from here to there and then back down so let's call this good night do it right and trim and I think basically once you do that, then there's a bar that goes across the top, so this goes over here somewhere and there's actually supposed to be one more piece, one more piece, that actually bolts to the front of the differential, right here, to so you can see that it is screwed. the back, but we need a mount right here, there's supposed to be a plate and I think my rig was missing it.

I'm going to go ahead and index Justin on that, he'll probably send me one, but Yeah, there's supposed to be a little plate that screws in here and then basically slides right in there and then welds on, so that's the only piece which you actually have to solder and then there's like two 3 inch plates and That's basically how you assemble it here, we could get impatient and make our own. I mean, I don't think it's too hard, but I'll talk to him tomorrow and see, but yeah, first thing I'll do. I'm going to go ahead and do this notched thing real quick so we can get the differential and everything up there and they're in the right place and then bolt on the lower control arms so the window notches come up and right here this little piece we have to lift it up and give it a little more room for the differential, so this is one of my favorite tools, so we have a rough

build

of this thing right now.

You can see I have the bolts working. through here for the control arm there are these bolts that kind of sandwich this right here there are two actually there are two little holes there which is nice there's one on the top and one right there you can see that there's this bolt hole here and basically what happens is this goes through this kind of sandwiches in the middle and then this goes in the trunk somewhere it kind of adds a little bit more strength to it and then you can see obviously , which is bolted to those two here and then, so the next one.
What we have to worry about is basically just screwing up the spread so you can see how much the IRA had. I basically had to cut the subframe here. I need to cut it a little more on this side. I might actually, well, I mean, actually. I think maybe I didn't even have to cut it as much as before, but we did have to cut a small hole for the vent line to go through and this will basically have to be in the trunk and then you'll be able to see fine. Here I need to push, push the diff up a little more or not push the diff at all.
Push the little trunk lining it up nicely, okay, just a little bit more. You'd see that damn jackhammer is a lifesaver. Exhale gently. That's all kind of The transition is, but I'm basically going to try to push it back a little bit more and level it out and then I guess I'll go from there because I think this will actually go up a little bit. Where is that level? The holes basically go like this. it goes like this and then there's like a flat piece that comes right out so the weight of both yeah this is a bolt on top of this yeah so I don't think it is yeah that's pretty thick so basically it's just a quarter inch piece of metal that comes off of that and then screws to this, so it should, yeah, and then you're going to trim the ends off basically a little bit so you can put it in there and make it sit a little snug, yeah .
I can see I did it, I installed the driveshaft adapter, going crazy, yeah that's a good thing, so I guess a little more, a little more oomph, just mounted the rear differential, all there, got the arms lower control arms and the rear trailing arms and yeah you could see I did the ball bushing or the bearings right there and that's going to be nice and solid so basically all of this yeah it was like an upgrade then here for the bracket of the differential, you can Look, I have a lot of room, so basically what I'm going to do is take a quarter inch steel plate and just drill it down to the bolt holes, extend it back a little bit and put that plate basically right underneath and then just solder. a little plate right here, same thing on the other side so I don't even think it's a big deal, I guess it wasn't normally included as I think they honestly probably forgot it stuck on the box, but I don't.
I think it's a great business. I'll just head over to Home Depot, grab a quarter inch plate and basically finish this tomorrow as far as getting all that stuff soldered. I might go ahead and take it down after all that since We made some cuts right here. I might try boxing that in or something. The other thing is to maybe just hit it with a base coat to make it all black again and nice and shiny and obviously this is super nice. I don't want to make it look bad on the car, make the car look bad.
I mean, now this looks new down here, but we'll finish that tomorrow, okay guys, so let's go back to the workshop today. and I'm basically going to leave it where it is, so I talked to Justin at HUD Hub City Performance and he actually has these other brackets that mount here similar to this one, but they basically have a bolt hole so you can mount it. the viscous coupler that you could see right there, there's two bolt holes right there, so I basically called him and texted him and said hey, I think you guys left this out of the kit because I'm fine, we'll do it. ". get a scent today and then I asked about the viscous coupler, okay we'll ship that too so since we'll be waiting for both anyway I figured we'd leave this thing where it is but pretty much all the handling stuff is ready to go I mean I'm super excited I mean it looks cool that's fucking just screw the all-wheel drive stuff on like I said I did a little bit of massaging here so all I gotta do is put that plate on once let him enter right there.
I got the driveshaft measurement so I'm going to go ahead and put up this video for you guys so you have something to look at and then you're probably going to put the unit down. axle, the other thing I'm waiting for is some e^x front axles. I got a big brake kit for not the big brake kit but a piston brake kit for the front so I'm going to go ahead and try to pick up some axles. There's a local guy who actually got the sedan and it has some VX bushings in the front. He said he could come pick them up so I might try to get them today too so I'm just putting pieces together.
Day and everything getting ready to shoot, it's time to turn on the cool holder. I have the Mustang and the store. I was trying to sell it to someone, so if you guys think I should sell the Mustang and move on to other things, let me. I know if not, my Saab was totaled to hell, so I thought I'd, you know, just get rid of the Saab and use the Mustang daily, so let me know what you guys think. The other thing is that I have been trying to sell the WRX. It's been about two months and in the meantime we've been toying with the idea of giving it away, so I did a little poll on my Instagram that will still be there if you don't follow me on the Instagram app on TV movement. "Make sure you check that out, yeah, go take the poll on my Instagram story if we should do a Subaru WRX giveaway, obviously a couple of mods, but I don't want to sink you guys, we do giveaways or anything, but I can." I'm not selling that thing and we need some money for some fucking projects and stuff, but I appreciate you watching, subscribe if you want to see more stuff.
