Pararnorman Was Ahead Of Its Time

Feb 21, 2022
Ladies and gentlemen, Halloween is almost here, do you want to sit there and continue to look like a complete jerk? Okay now watch the video it's a scary month baby you know what that means pumpkin candy and a bunch of guys in cat costumes. scary movie of course i'm not sure about you but i love creepy art i love creepy animations which is interesting because i don't actually watch a lot of horror movies but you know i love the paranorman movie the nightmare before christmas, the game, the limbo within the little nightmares. i know things like that are artistically creepy if that makes sense and today we are going to talk about the paranormal yes i know another leica movie yes i might be a bit of a fan but i hope most people are. aware that paranorman is a good movie with a stacked cast, keep in mind that we have anna kendrick, casey affleck, john goodman and jeff garland, and in this movie, the animation, the jokes, the references to classic horror movies, everything is really good, including the score, basically me.

I am saying that if you love the horror genre then this is definitely a movie for you now where this movie excels in self awareness with the horror genre and also the horror movie references and also the jokes. I really feel like this movie is too much based on the story itself, but in a way the moral of the movie and the journey that goes along with it and also a very interesting fact: this is actually the first animated movie with an openly gay character and this character is not gay for the sake of being gay, I feel like a lot of

time

s movies fade a character just to say, hey, this character is gay, they tend to make them almost like caricatures of what a gay person isn't really like just a normal person who happens to be gay, but in this movie the character was portrayed as a normal person and it fits very well within the movie and since it's October and since this movie focuses heavily on the horror genre, i think i'm gonna take it upon myself to watch more horror movies yeah yeah i know it's hard to believe which is perfect because today's sponsor is Shutter Shutter a video streaming service that basically me Before you could think of it as Netflix but just for the horror genre Shutter has the biggest and fastest growing collection of thrillers horrors and all that might make you hold back a bit you know the expertly curated collection of charter includes must-see titles like vicious fun, the mortuary collection and pg psycho gore man, plus the best horror documentaries and the spooky hit tv series from executive producer grado nicotero of the walking dead now i personally how i started to cringe was watching creep show because I feel creep show is a good balance between comedy and horror because you know I'm what the ladies call a scary poop baby so if you want to try Shutter for 30 days free go to Shutter.com That's s-h-u-d-d and use the promo code bionic pig boom bam and get your ghosts to get the movie started basically sets up the whole premise and concept of the whole the movie, it starts with the classic horror movie scenario of a girl running from a zombie but it's being aware of the cliché of how you know people never really run from zombies, they end up standing there screaming and this is a note interesting that i didn't understand the first

time

i watched this movie at first we see paranorman watching the movie and his grandma in the background and she mentions that if the zombie and the girl talked there could be a different outcome in this movie and obviously a first look at the first time you look you're like oh it's just you know funny because grandma i'm right but ironically that was just foreshadowing the whole movie so norman's grandma tells him to tell his father to turn up the thermostat because he is cold. and we see norman's parents and he's kind of a classic dad which is how you know the kids need to go out and play outside you know to wear camo and play football you use tools to fix things but just when norman tells everyone grandma wants the heat.

More Interesting Facts About,

pararnorman was ahead of its time...

It turned out that everyone stopped, which at first you say, oh, okay, what, why, why would they care so much? Turns out grandma is dead and norman was actually talking to a ghost and obviously we could see norman's dad is like basically yelling at his son to get over it your grandma is dead she's old and she died get over it kid then we have a nice shot of norman's mom and dad kind of yelling at each other and he's sitting in the middle of their stomachs and norman comes up the stairs and his dad literally goes crazy, you know, saying why doesn't he come out and do sports why does a stupid kid do what he has nothing to do and then start talking about a guy who doesn't.
pararnorman was ahead of its time
I don't want norma to look like and then norman's mom mentions oh he probably has no idea what norman looks like he's been gone for so long and then we have a cut scene of the guy literally having the wall covered in norman's face, so that's a good start to a movie so obviously we could see that norman can see the dead and no one else can even walk up to a dead raccoon and he's talking to it like it's alive and i like the change that the movie made it started with norman talking to nothing and then they cut him talking to the ghost like what he sees so we see norman talking to people from all eras from all different timelines just ghosts that haven't moved on yet we even see a bird flying around with a plastic she can hold around her neck and then we see a sign saying welcome to blythe hollow great place to hang out with the witch hanging out and if you don't know blythe hollow it's basically just salem, massachusetts, it's very inspired by the witch trials. and things that happened in salem massachusetts and even in the movie blyth hollow is in massachusetts witchy wieners hey hey honey can you pick me up some witchy weiners honestly salem massachusetts picked this up witchy wieners that's a good name you should use that so norman goes to school and it's literally the classic everyone bullies him like they can't even hold back with all their might all the students in school call him a monster they look at him like a freak so Norman is cleaning the monster in his locker we meet . neil who's cleaning grease out of his locker there's a huge bullying problem at this school and then we meet alvin who's the big bully stereotype voiced by christopher you meet the guy who played mclovin and he's the basics of bully, you know he's a big bully and then two kids follow him they just hype him up he's like yeah that was good yeah yeah I showed that kid in the locker that was a good thing yeah laugh. with me they laugh from time to time we meet the eccentric drama teacher and it seems like all of them are putting on this regular play that they usually know talking about the history of this town and as she talks to norman he starts to see what happens things like burning things and he sees the woods and he sees these settlers and obviously to everyone else he's just getting distracted and again everyone laughs at him because he's the weirdo and just a little detail that I find funny Neil is the tree in the play and he literally has a noose hanging from his arm and not only that, but they throw the noose around Neil and obviously you know it's about the witch trials, you know the witches were hanged and stuff like that, it's just depressing. to watch and as Norman walks away from school Neil bumps into them and they start to bond a bit and sure yeah Neil is the stereotypical fat funny kid but he fits the context of the movie pretty well and then we we meet norman's uncle who is literally just a crazy deranged man or at least that's what he seems and his uncle yells at norman that the witch's curse is real and norman is supposed to do his duty because he he's the one who could see people dead too but obviously norman doesn't think about that and also neil and neal scares him with some spicy hummus and on top of that we can see that norman's uncle is not healthy at all all the time he's panting and coughing madly it seems my thoughts are correct because in the next scene norman's uncle dies then we see the witch's curse musical which is being presented as a production and i assume this is an annual thing because there are a lot of people there and everyone is filming it but on stage during production Norman has another vision and this time he is chased by a group of settlers and they all yell at him witch and then he gets caught by a tree and the tree says the dead are coming so he he yells falls on his face and once again you know the whole world is laughing at him look at that idiot look at that stupid kid you know how to see the dead and so dumb you know what i'm starting to do compare norman's father to father from chicken little they're like in a wrestling battle over who's the worst dad because not only does he basically laugh at him doing that in front of all these people he gets mad at him and norman even says i wish i wasn't born this way and her dad says you know what i wish you weren't born that way either what a great dad you know there are so many great dads out there and her mom helps a little bit but she really doesn't. all he basically says is you know your dad is just afraid of things I can't understand you know he could relate to a lot of people but obviously it doesn't matter you shouldn't be afraid of your own son so Norman is chased by his own uncle in the bathroom and his uncle says he's dead.
pararnorman was ahead of its time
Norman is the one who is supposed to keep the witch asleep so he tells her to go get the book from her corpse hands and then in this scene we have a reference to the theme of Halloween another reference to the undead and also a reference to Jason, so Norman. he goes to his uncle's house and, you know, since riga mortis has established itself in his uncle's hands, the book is quite restricted, so we have a little scene of him struggling to get the book out of his hands and is dead. Uncle's tongue even fell in his face hmm this is this is starting to get a little sussy so he goes to the place where his uncle told him to go and his uncle told him to read the book and in the on his way to that place he accidentally bumped into alvin the bully so alvin ends up chasing him to that place and since alvin stopped norman from reading the book the dead actually come back to life and they all look like the settlers norman saw in his visions from before so norman's sister sees that norman is missing so she goes to Neil's house to ask where he went and automatically starts flirting with her muscle brother and all the while Norman and Alvin are being chased because of the zombies and it's really funny because all the time Norman's sister is flirting with Neil's brother. but Neil's brother is like not having it, it's like he's not even paying attention to it and honestly throughout this movie the reactions of them liking zombies and how people look at them is kind of hilarious because of For example, when Neil's brother accidentally hits one of the zombies that are chasing Norman, he doesn't realize it's a zombie, he walks up to the guy who raises his head and his head falls off and says something like uh oh this is bad but at least he starts screaming when the head he's holding starts screaming that's the cue to start screaming no when someone's head falls off so they pick up norman and alvin and go full throttle speeding down the highway because of the zombies in the back of their car and they pass a cop who is dumb btw damn damn girl so they end up crashing into a parking lot and making it out okay and here's another part where Mitch just doesn't care about Court ney and again we have a lot of instances of how people in this town react differently to zombies than most people do for example right here this guy is trying to get some fries out of a vending machine and he goes to these zombies walking towards him down the alley and instead of running away he sits there and waits for his tokens to drop first before he runs away so the zombies come into town and instead you know to do what zombies normally do and they like to attack people, they are more scared or But with the technological advances in the world now, even one of the zombies screams bloody murder because he watches a TV because let's face it, if zombies of old had any kind of sentience, obviously they'd probably be freaking out about what's going on and right here.
It's the best part, this shows we're in America, baby, you see all these people come out and you see these zombies, these zombies aren't walking towards anyone, these zombies aren't killing anyone or even trying to hurt anyone. just standing there and then a lady I guess she just pulls herself out of her ass crack there's not really anywhere she's holding a shotgun she pulls out a shotgun and just starts shooting and everyone starts beating these zombies for no reason , I mean let's refer to the beginning of the movie where the grandmother ofNorman says, "Hey, maybe if they talked it over they'd understand each other more because these zombies aren't technically doing anything wrong and yet, Hey, just start beating 'em up to make them nicer than reversing the horror movie roles now it's the zombies that are terrified of the humans that are trying to get out alive well uh an undead alive alive dead so norman and the gang end up locking themselves in a library so norman can try to find information on the witch and see how he can deal with the situation you know as the zombies run like crazy well they run like crazy or just take the beat out of them and run out of town the movie is way

ahead

of its time the police officer who he was traveling with norman's parents because he ran into their car earlier he gets to the area where people are shooting these zombies he takes the lady's gun then he says what do you think they are shooting civilians that's for the lady cop do it dammit this movie is so good the movie flips the zombie stereotype because let's be real if just five zombies came out and walked in the middle of the city people wouldn't start shooting at them for no reason you know , and now it seems that the zombies are entering places just to hide from people, they are literally reversing the role, so inside the library the group separates from norman. because everyone says you know norman this is not going to work we are not going to listen to you anymore even his sister says you start living in the real world when there are literally zombies they saw zombies and his sister tells him to do it lives in the real world, so Norman tells everyone to go away and get away from him because they're not listening to him even when there are cursed zombies and then we have an undead reference night where we see a bunch of arms sticking out of the windows and doors and not it's the zombies coming in through the windows and doors it's actually the people the big ruckus outside they think the zombies are inside and they chase them it's such a nice ironic twist i love it so norman sees the zombie starts to surround him , so go out and go up to the library go up to the top of the tower and see the witch in the sky so start reading from the book to the witch and go down with the people with the riot the fucking theater the lady yells nigr oman to norman which is ironic for the town that will be compared to salem massachusetts they are basically replaying the witch trials in the present time so norman gets attacked by the witch and he gets a little less history he gets a little witch flashback then we see what really happened with the witch the witch was actually a little girl and this story is pretty sad so we see this girl being sentenced to death for witchcraft because she was talking to dead you know , as norman does and all these people, as you can see, are the zombies that are alive from time to time at the end of the flashback, the girl says that she will make everyone regret it, implying that they were probably cursed to be zombies, so after Norman wakes up from his vision he sees all the zombies standing over him and they all look kind of sad and almost sorry and the zombie says you have to read the book so we can all in lay Back in our grave, you know zombies never meant to kill anyone, never meant to hurt anyone, they just want to stop the curse, but then Norman realizes that this book is just a bedtime story to keep the witch asleep for another year. to stop the curse it will only prolong it which is what norman's uncle was doing for so long but norman's uncle was older you know he didn't really think of a different method to do it he just assumed that's what he it was supposed to happen and that's it and as norman talks to the zombies we realize what the moral of the story is because they talk about the reason they did it because they were scared they just assumed it was the right thing to do b because they didn't they understood you know that so much hate is generated just out of ignorance you know that you don't understand something and people are just afraid of it, like in this situation where these people in the city are afraid of these zombies because they don't really. they understand why they are here or what they are doing they don't think about it they don't try to understand it they just sit ignorant and end up pulling out a shotgun and blowing their chest off which ignorance is a problem that has plagued humanity for a long time , you know that just because you don't understand someone, don't understand their beliefs or what they're doing, doesn't necessarily mean you should automatically hate them and not just learn about them to get zombies out. from the library and norman stands in front of the gun being pointed at them and even norman's dad is still yelling at norman to stay away from the zombies right now and you know you hear him obviously you're the stan D-up dad he it's his dad he's literally wallowing in his own anger at norman instead of being worried he's more angry than anything god i'm just rewatching this part it's so the townspeople don't care what he says Norman, never mind them.
We literally decided that we are going to kill Norman and the zombies. They all just run right at him and you know what's stopping them. Norman's sister because in this town, Norman is a weirdo. They don't care what happens to him, even his parents didn't jump. in front of the mob but norman's sister does it and says oh wait norman's sister she's normal she's not a freak then they all stop so alvin mitch courtney norman and neil they unite against the mob so courtney gives a big speech to everyone like no they're adults stab him and all they want to do is burn and murder things burn and murder things just burn and murder so that norman and his family all run by the judge zombie, they end up going to the witch's actual grave because it was an unma Marked grave, so Norman is separated from the rest of the family and ends up facing the witch alone, so this time instead of reading the book, Norman goes there and simply reads the story to the girl of what happened to her. because after being dead and angry for so long she lost the meaning or purpose of what she was doing and lost her memory so after Norman talked to her for a while and then she just hit Norman during he ends up grabbing her hand and her memory returns so she remembers her humanity and snaps out of that stage of pure rage and hate and then she lies on norman's shoulder falls asleep and then disappears and then the witch's curse is finally gone on the town and not only that but the zombies also fade away and their spirits disappear so the curse is completely broken and it's fun because we cut out the city people and the city people are literally like oh yeah just I was living for the hype, I wasn't even sure what was going on, oh no, they were just pushing me to do it. oh I ain't even that bad of a dude they were just telling me to do it I was following the crowd you know cause we be real mob mentality pretty strong bro so Norman go from dumbest kid from town to the coolest kid. in town i mean you could almost say this movie is comparable to chicken little and the fact that literally everyone in town hated it and then in the end everyone in town liked it but i would definitely say that Paranorman is a better movie than Chicken. kinda like you can see at the end of the movie this movie wasn't really based on the story itself it's more based on the morals and the messages that are intertwined between this movie you know it's just the classic you know?
Don't judge the book by its cover, you know not to be ignorant. People don't hate someone just because they don't understand, etc. I like thank you all for watching this video, hope you enjoyed it, if you want to see my stream go to twitch.tv bionicpik tv, I'll probably be streaming after I upload this video, if you want updates on movies I'll probably go check it out, go to bionicpigyt on twitter and check it out and that's it please subscribe please tell your friends please say goodbye to your mom when i look back
