Pressure Canning Milk ~ 15 Min Processing Time For Rich Flavor | Two Canners at Once

May 02, 2020
hello everyone today I am going to use

pressure

canned

milk

again and the product that I hope to end up with or the product that I will end up with is an evaporated

milk

or something very similar to evaporated milk now in the past I have

pressure

canned milk and it I processed for ten minutes. I also processed it for 13 minutes, but today I'm going to process it for 15 minutes. Why do that? The reason I do it is I want a

rich

flavor

so this will be the first

time

I process milk for 15 minutes now if you are wondering why I can milk in the first place I do it like I said to get an evaporated product.

I can't really milk to drink it straight, I usually put at home I can't milk my coffee in the morning, some

time

s I put it in porridge, so if you look at any can of evaporated milk, look at the ingredients, there are various things added to the milk and at the end of the day it's a lot cheaper too so let's see what we need to do this so this is what I'm going to use today to press my milk let's start with the milk. I have three point two five percent fat milk and each bag contains three bags. in total each bag is four liters, okay, I have a mix of jars, I have a golden harvest, maybe I have a ball and my dishwasher there is a Bernard, and I'm not sure anyway.

I have my lids and ring containers. soaked and pre-boiled, but I usually keep them in a saucepan on my stove without the elements, but since I'm using two

canners

today there is no room on my small stove, well, I guess it's not small, but compared to other people's stoves people, it's it's small one brand of lid that I'm using is the Barnardine brand that I bought at Dollarama for two dollars a box. I have my jar lifter my d-bob alert my magnetic wand I have some potholders I have paper towels and I have water to clean the rims now I normally use vinegar when I clean the rims, but today I'm going to use water.

I just want to avoid accidentally getting vinegar into a milk jar, so I have my two

canning

jars on the left. 16 court and to the right is my court 23 there is water in each pot. I added my vinegar and for each of my lids I did my safety checks so let's start filling our glass jars with milk so I go. To start by opening my milk bag, you know this is just a Tupperware, but my other milk jug is used with the milk we use in our house, so this will have to do for now. I should have thought about that before making a video but you'll have to do it anyway, this is very simple and I forgot to mention that I have my

canning

funnel here.

I didn't include it at the beginning of the video, another thing I would like to include is that canning milk is not an approved method, so if you are going to can milk, you need to do your research. Many people can milk and there are different methods. Some people bring their can, get up to 10 pounds of pressure, and turn it off. I believe in

processing

milk. It worked for me in the past and I'm sure it will work for me in the future, so again, do your research if you are going to buy something that is not approved, so let's pour our milk very carefully into our jar, there will be Dee bubble, Let's clean our room and put a lid on the jar.
Now I'm going to place this in my pressure canner. I'm starting to fill my 23 quarts, so I'll fill more jars in front of you. I underestimated the amount. of 3.25 percent fat milk I needed to fill two counters so to fill my 16 quart presto pressure canner I'm going to use 2% milk okay so both pots are filled with the cannon jars and now I'm going to put the covers on. and turn on the element now the milk was cold so the water in the pot starts cold the water the milk and the jars everything will heat together good so both pots are on I have the pressure gauge facing my dining room table where I can see it from I'll bring them back anyway when either boat is venting a steady stream.
I'm still waiting here for a steady flow, so court 16 is now venting a steady stream. I'm going to set the timer for 10 minutes. Now when I have thoughts, I use my iPad for 16, so that's what I'm going to do now. I have the time set, I just have to press Start, well it took a long time anyway, so port 23 is gone. event in the constant flow I'm going to set the timer when we still talk for 10 minutes so that it can ventilate well, then tie this for the undertaking on court 16. I'm going to put my pressure regulator on the ventilation tube. and I'll bring them back when court 16 reaches 11 pounds of pressure, so the ten minutes of tutoring is over for court 23.
Now I'm going to put the pressure regulator on the vent tube and bring them back when the pressure The gauge reaches 11 pounds of pressure. If you are a singer, this is quite interesting. Court 23 is about a minute ahead of Court 16. Okay, my timer is set to 15 minutes and I'd like to remind you

once

again why. I'm doing 15 minutes because I want a

rich

tasting product. I want evaporated milk to use in my coffee. I'm going to move my 16 quarts of the hot element, okay, so I had a strong pair of arms to move the 23 quarts. off the hot element and of course the boat will come down from pressure faster, it looks like court 16 is winning the race to lower the pressure, it's almost there for court 16, so I'm going to open court 16, has already gone down.
From the pressure I will first remove the pressure regulator. I'm going to let this sit for a few minutes. I'll just let the lid rest on it for a while. A few minutes. Okay, so let's take the lid off of court 16. and in court 16 there is 2% milk now one of the jars in room 16 is a mixture of 2 percent and 3.25% milk oh well, I'll never know which one isn't a problem, let's take the lid off and keep it away from me. I'm going to put it down, let's take the jar lifter, this one is already sealed. I'm going to put it on the counter.
I'm going to remove the cover on court 23 keeping him away from me. It's a little awkward because I have a cabinet in the way, here's another view, so the jars in court 23 are 3.25% fat, let's take some out, okay, everyone, all the jars are out of the canning pot and are sealed again. I process them for 15 minutes. and I did it for a specific reason I want this milk in these jars to put in my coffee every morning it had a delicious

flavor

after 13 minutes of

processing

I am sure it will be even richer after 15 minutes of processing I will make a video where I try this milk so stay tuned for that so what I'm going to do is add a two in my 2% jars so if you want milk in your pantry to drink there are other methods one of the methods like I said earlier in the video is to raise the cooker to 10 pounds of pressure and then turn it off.
Many people have used this method again. It is not approved, but many people have used it. However, I want an evaporated milk product that I can use for a specific reason, I hope. You enjoyed this video and again, if you want canned milk, do your research because it is not an approved method. However, this unapproved method works for me. I should add that all the jars are sealed.
