Porsche 911 997.1 vs 997.2 more Porsche for less money.

May 31, 2021
Well, this is a long overdue video to talk about many people's favorite 911 generation and then the 997, which is actually two 911s and one, so the 997 generation of 911s were produced between 2004 and 2011 and they are a big improvement over the 996 generation. It came before, but what was really interesting about the 997 was that it was the first 911 to benefit from the Cayenne and because the Cayenne sold so well, Porsche became a very rich company and was able to reinvest that

money

on sports cars and it really shows. in the 99 7, which is very well built compared to the 996, so a lot of people talk about what the 997 generation introduced in the 911, but it was also the last of many great things and that's why the 997 is so sought after and It's a lovely car because it was the last 907 that had so many cool things including a manual handbrake, they went to electronic after this power steering, they went to let rip steering after this motor shaft, actually you can open the tail on this car and see the engine and of course this was the last generation that had a manual transmission and the turbo and the Turbo S, unfortunately now you can only get the PDK which is a fantastic transmission but it certainly is cool to drive a turbo turbo. a manual transmission but of course the 97.1 is done without problems, the engine is a bit of a carryover from the 996 so it still had some of the issues with the IMS bearings, most of which should be fixed by now so it's pretty safe to drive a generation 1, which are the real bargain cars, which are like this guy here, which are beautiful to drive, which are beautiful to drive, quite modern inside, but the real joy of the 997 is actually the value that you can get for a 997 for between thirty thousand and

. to a hundred thousand depending on the condition specifications, etc., but for a model like this, a Carrera, you can get it for thirty-five to forty-five thousand dollars and people think it's a new 911 because it looks modern, obviously, the form no.

They shift so much and drive like a modern 911, they are incredibly powerful and sound amazing and are well put together, there is none of the creak or body flex that you had in the 996s, everything is fixed here in the 997, so they are a real bargain, but there is a big difference, of course, between the 97.1 and the 907 dot. 2008 they updated the 907 again for the 911 7.2 and it was the biggest and most comprehensive change to a repressive 911 ever made. It was basically a brand. new car, all that

money

from Cayenne sales allowed them to reinvest and rebuild the 997, so it wasn't just a new engine, yes, the trade-in: a direct injection engine, but the transmission went to Peter, who first encountered with a successful transmission that completely changed. the powertrain, the suspension, even the PCM, you name it, in fact all but two of the body panels were changed, and every bit of the electronics, even the headlights, the steering wheel, the mirrors, everything was changed for the 99 7.2, so a lot of people felt it was a new car although un

you are a Porsche expert you are not going to notice the difference with me outside and that is why they are 99 7.2 it is quite a bit taller than the previous one because it doesn't It doesn't have the problematic engine and it's basically a completely new model you're looking at for a 911 that drives wonderfully, sounds amazing and you only have between thirty-five and forty-five thousand dollars if it's worth considering point one as the biggest drawback.

More Interesting Facts About,

porsche 911 997 1 vs 997 2 more porsche for less money...

Point one nine nine seven, of course, is the engine. Many people are afraid of this engine because they still had some of these. I'm in spare trouble, but there was actually a fraction of a percentage of cars that actually had their problem and now. ten years later if the car was going to have that bearing problem it would have happened already, most cars would have replaced them, the people who maintain these cars well will never have that problem, it's okay I think we're all sick of it by now that I scream. about the wind let's take a closer look at the differences between point one and point two, like I said it was practically a completely new car under the skin new suspension new running gear new transmission new engine new electronics new almost everything

on the surface they are quite difficult to distinguish, but if you look for certain clues you can tell the difference from the rear, you can tell thanks to the LED lights on the front, you can distinguish once again that the lights have a light Dual HDI on the point - or is it a single point, same with the running lights which are also LED on the front, the front has a slightly different shape and on the inside you can see by the new steering wheel that it actually it was taken to 91.1. the mirrors are slightly different, a new PCM that looks very similar to the one on the 99 1.1, including touch screen and, for the first time, hard disk navigation and of course PDK.

Now the engine was the biggest change, of course, the engine, well, crashed. the power was only 25 horsepower, but the big difference was in the torque delivery because of that direct injection engine, you got a lot

torque at the top and rear of the range, at over five thousand five hundred rpm, it really gave you kicks in the pants. Otherwise, inside both models look very similar, except of course the rather dated PCM in point one, the rest of the interior is quite modern and very high quality. The other thing that stands out, of course, as I mentioned before, is the steering. wheels from the slightly older model, but otherwise more or less identical inside.

I even have the fancy cup holders you see on modern 911s, yes the interiors are pretty high quality on the 99 sevens, a big improvement over the 99 sexes and Since we're dealing with cabin relays today we should take a look to how the roof works. Cabriolet models get a few extra buttons. They have the buttons to operate the roof down here next to the parking brake. They also get an extra button and window controls because it also has a small rear window with the cockpit relay, but the cockpit relays have proven to be quite reliable for the 9/7.
All you have to look out for is the spot around the crease, so look for the spot around the crease, especially the cars. 20,000 miles because these roads are very expensive to replace but generally if cared for they can last up to 50 or 60,000 miles without any problems depending on how often I've been locked in so there you have it the 907. it's a bargain on performance if you're looking for a fairly modern 911 for a pretty reasonable price well worth a look obviously most people want the two points for performance and HD technology but nowadays the points They are also worth a look, particularly with the manual transmission.
I would recommend the manual transmission in any of the Cirie, the PDK. As it was always a faster car, it's very sudden to show its age on the 997. I would try to get a manual if you can. It's just a more reliable transmission anyway. I wanted to thank Stephen and Seth for lending me their cars for this review. I also had a little problem with William and who put the seat belt on him, so he's trying to get in the front and me. We will try to continue this review shortly with the review of the turbo 997 because it is also a very special car anyway, thank you all for watching, see you next time, bye, and if you are wondering where to acquire the ridiculous one.
