PokéTuber Reacts to a Castform For Every Type

Jun 01, 2021
- Greetings, Poke fans. Michael here and if you've been watching my content for almost any amount of time, you probably know that I have a perfectly healthy and reasonable obsession with Castform. Castform tends to get a lot of hate from the Pokémon community, which I don't think it deserves. So I have a strong desire to defend it, because I think it's the cutest Pokémon ever. Also, a couple of months ago, Pokémon HOME showed that they finally gave shiny variations to their weather forms, including the hail form, which is blue and yellow, my channel's color scheme.

That's what generated the phrase I use all the time, hail yeah. So, due to my well-known love for Castform, I immediately received a ton of requests to make a reaction video to Lockstin and Gnoggin's video about a Castform for each

type

. Oh Lord. Lockstin has been doing a series on his channel about his fictional region, the Kaskade region, based on the Pacific Northwest of the United States and it is a truly amazing series. You should absolutely watch it and this Castform video is part of that series. So if you enjoy this Castform video, you'll also enjoy the other videos in that same series.

So be sure to subscribe to Lockstin. The link to his channel and the original video are in the description below and many thanks to him for allowing me to make this reaction video. I'm very excited to check it out. But I think that covers the whole topic of the introduction. So don't forget to subscribe to my channel, as well as Lockstin's, and let's dive into my reaction to a Castform for each

type

. Alright, here we are, in the Lockstin video, introducing a new Castform for each type, the Kaskade region. Let's press play. I didn't press play correctly.

Here we go. (video static noise) - This is Professor Fir's research log number 42069. - (gasps) Professor Fir! I had no idea that the teacher from the Kaskade region was a furry! - (mumbling) Well, I finally did it! Oh, I am very satisfied with these results. Oh! - and with this project finally finished, I'll use this log entry to summarize

every

thing. (clears throat) Here it goes. - Tell me more! - Hello, I'm Professor Fir. - Oh. One of the two main... Oh, he's not hairy. He is F-I-R. I'm disappointed. - Pokémon teachers in the Kaskade region. - Ah OK! - My specific field of study is to learn more about the unique weather system of this region, which is caused by the four roaming legendary Pokémon that constantly rotate the seasons. -That he is sick.

I mean, I love the concept of how unique this is because I always thought the weather was a really interesting aspect of the Pokémon world. Maybe it's because I'm a Hoenn baby and that's when the weather really got to Gareth. I think it was like some of them were introduced in the second generation, but it was Hoenn when he really hit a million and this is incredible. This looks really cool. It seems like you have flying squirrels for spring and fall and then big, cool dinosaurs for summer and winter, which is fun. Can you imagine living in a place where the seasons cannot be predicted?
It would be like living in Texas. - These constant changes have made some of the Pokémon here capable of using moves and abilities that they are unable to do in other regions (exclaims), mainly moves that affect their immediate surroundings. Essentially battlefield-sized climate anomalies - (intrigue) - I've called this simply climate energy. - Meteorology. - Meteorology. - (laughs) - Because I'm creative. - Because I'm into creativity. I mean, I can't, I can't blame you, man. That's fun to say, Weathergy! (laughs) That's not my job as a teacher. But one thing I noticed while researching is that my fellow Pokémon Castform apparently has more forms here than anywhere else in the world.
Then we have to go there immediately. Reserve a ticket. This is the most important thing there is, as the original creator of Castform pointed out to me. Apparently in other regions there are only sunny, snowy and rainy days, which is not enough. - Here I regularly met several others, so I made it my mission to discover a form of Castform for each type, - (exclaims excitedly) which is clearly easier said than done. Several of the types were no problem. It was just a matter of putting it on a battlefield with some of our unique climate. I will explain these findings now. - Oh.
Yes, the first new variant I found was its grass-type form. - I love her too. It's like a little flower. (claps excitedly) I don't know what the pasture climate is, but I don't care. (laughs) Oh, I know what it is. It's a storm of leaves, haha. - Pollinated. I encounter Histameane swarms almost

every

day I collect field data in the spring part of the region. - Oh, it's pollen! - We were constantly surrounded by a swirl of pollen. - (exclaims) - But poor Castform. He seems tense in this form and is having a bit of... (laughs heartily) This poor little Castform.
You have allergies. (laughs) This is already the best YouTube video I have ever seen in my life. (laughs) Oh my God. That's so good that Weatherball fills with pollen creating a grass-type ranged physical attack, okay, that's cool. Oh my God. - Weather, I don't sneeze, but in this particular form his weather ball attack is so full of pollen that it becomes a grass-type ranged physical attack. - That's great. - Now, if instead of pollen, the air is filled with poisonous gas, Castform enters a smug form, - (exclaims) - rendering- - Oh, he's angry. (laughs) - Immune to poison air while also poisoning the enemy team even more than the air is already doing. - Oh that's amazing. - Another common variant in the Kaskade region is the rock type variant that occurs when encountered in a sandstorm.
Here, - finally. Finally! What should have been there from the beginning is finally here and it's beautiful. I love it. He looks so calm. (laughs) It's like, Hey man, have a seat. Those are the pizza rolls cooking. You can have some in a minute. That's this, that's this way. Like he was giving everyone personality. Wait. So the grass one is very similar, like what? Just kind of discontented, but not extremely, but the one with the poison, he's angry, he's like arrgh and then, the one with the rock is like he's calm. I think I went too far.
Here we go. - Another variant- - That pause screen was really psychedelic (laughs) - in the Kaskade region it's the rock type variant which is caused by being in a sandstorm. Here his weather ball also becomes physical and it seems that he is able to protect his teammates from the sandstorm effect, which when I mentioned this to his creators they mentioned that they did not know of such an ability at all with the poison form. I guess here in Kaskade, in addition to his form changing with the weather, he also gains some kind of secondary ability in certain forms.
The flying type variant... They, they, are improving Castform. Not only does the skill change with the weather, but it also creates a double battlefield effect. Then the poison makes it so and your ally cannot be poisoned. -The sandstorm guy does it so that he and his ally don't get hurt by the sandstorm. That is awesome. That's great and here we have the surprised flyer. (continued) - It's also a pretty easy form to enter. Any frequent amount of strong wind without any other effects... There we go. will make his body stretch and twist around itself--Delta stream Castform. - a small sand hurricane. - A small sand hurricane. (claps enthusiastically) - Interestingly, when a Castform has this form, it's much harder for other enemy Pokémon to change the weather, it's as if this Castform form is removing any of its new effects. - Delta current.
Here we go. But this only happens once, as it then returns to its original form after doing so. Visually it's similar to its terrain type variant where a Castform becomes a sort of mini tornado or dust devil, collecting... I've said the term dust devil in videos before and people were like, "You mean the vacuum cleaner?" and I say, no, it's a sand tornado. I lived in West Texas during high school. Well. We had one in our car once and we just threw sand or dirt all over the windshield. We just had to stop. Yes. So here we have a Powder Castform, which is awesome.
So the rock one is like a big sand storm and this one is just a little dust devil that got hit. His facial expression is very similar to how are you? What the hell are you coming to my room for? You know, like him, he's not completely angry, but he's skeptical to the point of deep annoyance, picking up sand and dirt underneath. His weather ball on this forum can hit enemies even when they are underground exposing them first, and if it does, it will cause a sandstorm which, interestingly, changes Castform to its rock-type variant. - Oh, that's interesting - Really curious behavior.
Another easy way... (exclaims excitedly) My favorite type in one of my favorite Pokémon. This one is very excited. It is already decided. Like I'm a protagonist, you know, like yeah, I'm going to be the hero or whatever, I don't know. That's what I see in this little guy. Storm Castform. - Let's address its electric side form. Simply being in a storm with a charged battlefield will activate it and its effects here are interesting. It acts a bit like a lightning rod. He will absorb any electric attack he or his allies receive, although he still takes some damage from doing this, but in return his next weather ball attack is not only electric type but also more powerful, thanks to...
Hmm, interesting. . - More research is needed to determine how much power this small body can contain. - So that's like, it's like a lightning rod but different (laughs). - Even the ghost-type Pokémon in the Kaskade region have this extra weather energy that... - I love these. I love these regional variants or like clouds of this one, from the Gengar line. - has given rise to a new type of meteorological effect, which we have called cursed winds. Basically, the wind blows with an eerie howl and chilling sensation that cools those exposed to it without actually lowering the temperature. - Oh, now I'm cold. - indicates some kind of ghostly tears in the vicinity of these winds, perhaps a kind of ghostly realm that looks towards ours - (exclaims) - More research will need to be done here.
With the ghost type Castform, - (exclaims) - it's immune- - Okay, well, this is my least favorite one so far because this Castform is clearly dead. It seems to be based on the short time. God, what are their names? It's like Castform is partially based on a water molecule and partially based on these little Japanese, what are they called? The Teru teru bozu. I'm probably pronouncing that wrong, but shine, shine, monk. Small traditional handmade doll from white paper cloth, Japanese farmers started to hang it outside their window with a rope. They are basically ghosts. It is supposed to have magical powers to bring good weather and stop or prevent a rainy day.
That's part of Castform's inspiration, also like a simple water molecule. But yeah, so they did it, they designed this ghost to look like it and did a great job making it a hell of a lot creepier than Castform himself. - to normal and combat attacks, while protecting the spirits from the cursed winds on your side of the battlefield, which of course causes them to move more towards your enemy side, increasing the effects of the cursed winds, to the point of paralysis even from fear and the grip of the damned. - Yeah, I mean it worked. I was, I was paralyzed with fear for a second because this, this Castform really surprised me.
I'm not sure I'm brave enough to investigate this particular form any further. - That's fair man. That's fair. Professor Furry. Are you OK. - And the last of the easiest forms to get is the psychic type form. Psychic-type Pokémon and the Kaskade region also have their own weather type. However, a climate barrier or some type of filter would be a better description. They put some kind of strange psychic field around the battlefield. - Well. - I've read in other regions that some psychic Pokémon are capable of creating psychic terrain and this is essentially that.
The filter seems to amplify the effects of the stars above further increasing their psychic power and it is quite beautiful I must admit. - Look at you, sleepy Castform. - becomes a kind of clairvoyant and begins to meditate. - (laughs) - He goes into the psychic form and says, man, I'm fine. Namaste. Namastego. I'm relaxing right here. That's this Castform. Simply enlightened to the point that he doesn't give a shit about the battle ahead. (laughs) He won't attack. Wait, actually yes. It's actually doing that. - Meditating. Well, it doesn't seem to attack, wow, but it can still use status moves, but if you have an ally on the battlefield, it will amplify all of your attacks with additional psychic energy. - Damnedbe! -Apparently pushing his ally further with the help of telekinesis and- -Some of these battle strategies with these Castforms are really intricate and part of me is like, wow, that would be really cool and another part of me is like that .
It doesn't sound viable at all. But since Castform was viable in the first place, I might as well try, try everything. -And I should note that this effect seems to last for a short time, so when switching Castform with another waiting Pokémon, we will see the effect continue to last for that Pokémon. - Complicated. Complicated. - I'm sure some expert trainers can see value in this, but now Castform's few remaining forms were much harder to achieve, but I finally discovered that by giving him a weather gem to focus more weather energy on, he can unlock more potential. within yourself and gain access to more forms. - Well. -So now with enough infinite energy in the air it will turn into his dragon form. - (exclaims excitedly) - Every turn- - Hey, look, it has teeth. (laughs) It looks like he's encased in a Treecko, a Treecko with horns and teeth.
That's great. The bottom part looks like some kind of funny fruit: its attack and defense stats increase, but it also takes more and more damage. Much like the effects of toxic move, it seems his body is not designed for this type of arcane power. - Oh no. - When a Pokémon causes cloudy sky and blood moon, Castform not only changes its form but also its personality. - Oh no. - When he's in this dark type form, all his stats go up a bit, but he doesn't listen to a word I say - No! - because it is being clever or mischievous. - Casting shape!
Why would you do this to me? We are friends. There's no need to be so rude and cover yourself with what looks like dollops of whipped cream dyed black. - effects, but at least easy to break. Just a change in weather will cause him to change his form and lose his attitude, but he keeps the stat increases, which is pretty cool: man. The battle strategies in this are insane. - Various types of Pokémon in the Kaskade region have learned that they can fill the air with a pleasant sensation of breeze by filling it with a kind of fairy dust that reduces evasion and heals everyone around it, except dragons and ghosts, of course. - Poor dragons and ghosts. - Fairies and grass types are healed even more. - Oh. -But now, thanks to this Time Stone, Castform can change into his fairy form, which...-his head is a butt. (laughs) I'm joking, it's a heart but (laughs) it's very cute.
They are happy. Like hey (laughs) my God. -Well, it actually doubles the healing of him and his allies and his weather ball attack heals whoever it hits even more, which can include himself now and everyone... -Wow. - and now, thanks to air pollination, insects sometimes fill the air with pheromones. They usually don't smell very good. - So the one from the grass is pollen and the one from the insects are pheromones. (laughs) - not at all, but they and the Poison-type Pokémon seem to like it, as it increases their speed and accuracy instead of reducing it for everyone else and now, thanks to the Weather Gem, Castforms integrates pheromones into its own body, which provides a cloud of pheromones around it. - Alright.
Castform error type. You're really cute, but please don't take it personally if I decide to keep my distance because you probably smelled really bad. -which protects him and his allies from negative infestation. - Oh, the weather is now infested. That's cool, it kind of infects whoever it hits. I have been wanting to investigate how infestation works for a long time. Maybe now that I've found all the forms of Castform I'll look into it. Now, the Castform fighting type. I bet it took me a while and further refined the weather gem to make it work. Some Kaskadian fighting type Pokémon... - Oh, those are cool. - Releases fighting spirits into the air around him like Lucario's aura ball, but always, wipes out the entire battlefield. - Oh, wow. -When this happens, Castform can notice and transform into his fighting form.
The increase in speed that... Oh, wow. - What you get from this is remarkable. It is now among the fastest Pokémon I have ever seen. - Wow. - They can't seem to sit still. Jumping from side to side, that looks sick. - now ramming his enemies with each attack. - That wasn't what I expected at all. I thought, I want, I'd like to know what the design inspiration behind that is. Because it looks like an ice ball. Oh, maybe it's supposed to be an aura ball. Maybe that's what it is. It's like Lucario's aura sphere.
Maybe that's what it's supposed to be. I love this one. This one is really cool. - And then (exhales) and the steel guy and this is, this is where I really struggled. It took me months to figure this out. Some Steel-type Kaskadian Pokémon have a minor effect on the weather and... That's what a Triceratops Exploud looks like, which is cool. - and climate energy, but it is never much, an adjustment in the local magnetosphere. It only speeds them up slightly and makes them more accurate, but it also makes all electric attacks against them perfectly accurate.
I tried a lot of things to get this to work with Castform, you can do it, but nothing seems to work (exhale) and I hate resorting to the same tactics as Tom Bezzle, my old frat buddy and now CEO of Amaze-all. - - Surprise everyone. Tom Bezzle. This is clearly a Barnes and Noble parody. - what is the corporation in Kaskade and soon in the world. You see, he's been tinkering with Pokémon biology for a while, all for corporate gain. There is a modified steel Drifblim that delivers steel bundles that fit a widow to act as a living cell tower. and I swear Golbat's new evolution, Vibat, was also made by Amaze-all.
Surely they are listening to us. -Can I just say how brilliant that whole evil team plot is? It's so creative. I think it's great. - The Botniak. Are they even Pokémon? - They're like little robot dogs we had when we were kids. - I can twist my morals a little for science. This is the last step of this project. So after a bit of experimenting in my lab, I finally figured out how to achieve a Steel Castform and it involves a completely different element to give it a Steel Whirlwind, not unlike the one at the center of Portalkey.
So the nice thing about this retained element is that it makes these Castform steel shapes the default shape. So it's in this form fresh out of the polka ball and when it comes out, the explosion of the magnetosphere removes any weather effects that are already on the battlefield and sets the steel type weather effect on top of that. But, as an added bonus, it also increases the accuracy of his allies and also acts similar to Castform's electric form. - That is awesome. It's like the Castform becomes a climate. He calls it a whirlwind, but to me it looks like a weather vane.
It has like a Cramorant bird on top, like a weather detection measuring instrument. Like me, it never occurred to me that Castform would become a weather meter rather than a weather thing itself and that's cool. -But even better, it acts as a lightning rod and practically makes your side of the battlefield immune to Electric-type attacks. However, there are some negative aspects related to this. - Oh no. The Castform within doesn't seem to enjoy being in this form. - No! - I feel a little bad going through this. Additionally, he can't transform into any of his other forms until the whirlpool breaks, which seems to happen after taking a few hits and he still doesn't seem very happy for a while afterward. - No!
Release it! - Oh, what have I done? - You stink Professor Furry. - This was Professor Fir. Record four, two zero six nine. - Is that so? - (static sound) - Oh - Professor Fir's research log number four two zero seven zero. I don't know how they found out about... - Four two zero six nine. I understood. Probably those damn Vibats, but Amaze-all Corp approached me yesterday. They want to buy the manufacturing rights from me for decent steel jobs. I'm not sure what use they have for them and I'm not sure I want to subject any other Castform to what mine endured, - Don't do it! - but the money - Professor Furry! - They offered to finance my laboratory for more than ten years.
I wouldn't have to worry about more grants for a decade, but Castforms! - Oh, what am I going to do? (turns off) (water splashes) - That's it! (laughs) It's over! End on a note of potential damage to Castforms? (exhales) I expected to experience emotions when I saw this, my enthusiasm for Castform, of course. I didn't expect to be deeply concerned for the well-being of one of my favorite Pokémon. Lockstin, you fucking brilliant evil genius! This was a damn masterpiece. Thank you all so much for watching and a very special thank you to my Patreon patrons who are helping support my channel regardless of YouTube ad rate fluctuations.
If you want to help support me in the same way, the link is in the description below. Also, if you want to see more fun content from Pokémon or the Lockstin channel, which you should, you can click somewhere on the screen. Alright. That's all I have for now.
