Paid Traffic Tips for Drop Shipping Beginners

Apr 07, 2020
What's up with everyone, Anton, from e-commerce lifestyle com? In today's podcast I want to share a

paid

traffic

strategy that is really simple to implement and, in my opinion, this is something that everyone should do if they are just starting out. I

drop

ship and am looking to run

paid

ads profitably. I should also mention that I have done other podcasts on free

traffic

. I'll link to them in the description of this one if you want to go back and look at them, but even with that being said. some people have to start for free because there is no other way, I just know that my strategy one hundred percent is to bet on paid traffic, that is, buy ads because, in my opinion, there is no faster way to get a business off the ground. and to get sales profitably then spend money on Google or spend money on Facebook or spend money on Pinterest or any other advertising platform and get a lot more money now there are a ton of different traffic sources that work and can help you money, But that being said, when you're just starting out, you shouldn't go for this shotgun approach and try to generate traffic everywhere.

My advice is to start with this simple strategy and then, once you get it as profitable as possible, scale up from there. because this paid traffic strategy is by far the most profitable and is something that any beginner can figure out, so this is how it looks like you have your store right, ideally you build your store on Shopify as that is what we use , that's what we recommend that you want people to do. go to your store, you want them to buy, know that there are places you could spend money on ads, but where are those places and what gives you the best chance of getting the highest possible return on ad spend when it comes to advertising cold? traffic i.e. people who don't know you yet and when it comes to selling the type of products that you can actually make money on i.e. expensive products that you will

ship and if you follow the dropship lifestyle system, you already know him.

This is the best place to get paid traffic through Google Product Listing Ads. Call it Google PLA, for short now if you go to google.com and search for any brand or product name, even any SKU number, even any type of product. You will see our ads in the search result, especially at the top, and you will see many images of our products with store names and prices. Now those ads are again known as Google Product Listing Ads and they appear on what is known as Google Shopping now, these ads are so effective because the person on the other side of the computer, the person who clicks on that ad, you know you're going to an e-commerce store, you saw the product photo, you saw the price, you saw the name of the store when you clicked. who know they are going somewhere where the product is for sale, now the difference between this and something like trying to advertise to a cold audience on somewhere like Facebook is that on Facebook you are interrupting people right when they are going through their fear . zooming out and you have an ad popup for your product and to them it's like okay, here's a product, maybe I'm interested in this hobby or this category, but I'm not ready to buy, whereas with listing ads of Google products if you set up your ad correctly the person who clicks on your ad and sees your ad will search for exactly what you were selling and as a beginner when you need your return on ad spend to be as high as possible the best Way to get that high return on ad spend is to have targeted traffic to people who are literally searching for what you sell, getting them to click on your ad, go to your product pages, and buy now.

How do we configure this well? First of all, with Google Product Listing Ads, it's a little different than regular Google. ads because you are not allowed to choose the keywords you want to appear for, so for example, if you were selling a 48 inch white standing desk, you would not be able to bid on the keyword 48 inch white standing desk, such as Google does it. Product listing ads work if you submit all the products in your store to Google Merchant Center and then they basically scan your website, crawl it, and choose which keywords they think you should appear for now.

The beauty of this is that this is something you can optimize by creating great product titles and having great product descriptions so that you are more likely to appear for the keywords relevant to the products on your site. Now here's the good news, although with Google Product Listing Ads you can see which keywords are triggered. your results and your clicks Once your ads are legally live, let's say a week goes by and you've submitted your entire product catalog, you're running Google Product Listing ads, you can see what keywords people are searching for and what they trigger their advertisements. and you can see which ones aren't making you money, as you can probably imagine, what we do is over time we look at the data that Google gives us, we see which keywords are working which means they make less money, we see which ones aren't and then we do it.
What we can do within Google is use negative keywords, so let's say I saw that someone was searching for assembly instructions for a 48-inch white standing desk and let's say Google was sending me traffic to my product page because I sell those. things. Well, obviously, that's not a purchase intent keyword that that person isn't going to buy, so in that scenario I would add assembly instructions as a negative keyword. I would no longer have part of my core budget going to that and I can really increase the quality. my ads work so this is something you will always do on an ongoing basis.
You'll start with Google Product Listing Ads, upload your entire product collection through Google Merchant Center, and watch your keywords over time grow the ones that make you money, add the budget there, and then turn off the ones that aren't. relevant by adding them as negative keywords now, does that mean you will only focus on Google product listing ads for paid traffic? No, because I want you to take part of your budget and put it on Facebook, but not on Facebook for cold traffic. Instead, what I want you to do is put it on Facebook for remarketing, so that the person who visited your website comes and extremely targeted Google Product Listing Ad, they can buy from your store, they can make money from that transaction or they may be like ninety-seven percent of the people who normally visit websites and may leave without purchasing, so when they leave. and you don't have a sale, you don't want to just let them forget about you, this is where remarketing comes in and remarketing works extremely well on Facebook, unlike where products added to your Facebook feed just appear out of nowhere . with remarketing they see it because they were already on that product page on your website, which means you simply send them back to where they already were and bring them back to the product they showed interest in now in the same way as we do it.
This thing with Facebook Ads is called Facebook DPA, which stands for Dynamic Product Ad and that's what you want to run now if you're thinking, okay, I guess that makes sense. I am going to put my budget into Google Product Listing Ads to make sure I have the best quality of traffic coming to my store. I will use negative keywords to eliminate everything that does not make me money and then I will use Facebook to remarket to those people who came from Google and who did not buy but how much money should I spend? Where should I put it?
How should I divide my budget? Make this really simple and I'll tell you exactly what we do and what you should do when you get started with Google. I want you to do it. put 90 percent of your budget there and I want it. I want to see you put 10 percent of your budget into Facebook dynamic product ads for remarketing, so split 90/10 now if we just want to pick numbers to make this super simple, let's say the first month of running your store you said. I have an advertising budget of a thousand dollars for the first month we are in operation.
Well, simple enough, I would take 900 and put it in Google. I would take 100, that would be my budget for Facebook. Dynamic product ads now, what do you do after that? How do you scale? How do you trim well? One thing you should know if your store is set up correctly again if you are using the dropship lifestyle system, which by the way, if you are Don't go to dropship webinar com. I'll link to it below, but I have a free training there that goes into all of this again. dropship webinar com. What we need to do is make sure that our stores are converting, which means people are actually buying. of us and what we like to see is a two and a half percent conversion rate on the low end and we want to build from there, but if we see that we're getting traffic and the sales aren't coming in, we're going to look at a couple of things: the first is: can we better optimize our site to increase the number of people who buy compared to the number of people who access our website?
From there, we'll continue to optimize Google Ads by adding those negative keywords, maybe even excluding them. products that people are simply not buying and then again those that are, we are going to allocate more budget to increase the number of people clicking at the same time, always focusing on increasing the conversion rate in our store and this is how you start . Guys and I think that $1000 is a reasonable budget for your first month, but if people come to your store and don't see conversions within two or three days, there's a problem because most of this traffic, since it's so targeted , converts. that is, buy within a few days, so if that doesn't happen for you again, log in to your Google account, optimize it even better, log in to your store, work on conversion rate optimization, as we teach you within the dropship lifestyle, make sure everything is as good as possible. and just know that you are going to do this for eternity as long as your store is in business, you will constantly optimize, you will constantly spend more where you can, you will cut money where you don't make money and this is how you can build an amazing lifestyle business, by less so when you're starting now, once this works.
