I actually called the show about a situation we were in. We disagreed and we said what every Dave says, that's what we're going to do mm-hmm and then we agreed to that and when I called him you called him a chicken and said he wasn't going to have the conversation. he needed to have a discussion about boundaries he had to tell someone he didn't want to say no and I said if he doesn't he's a chicken yeah so you had the conversation that's why you're not a chicken who can It's going to be scarier than training camp reserves, that's awesome, man, I love it, now I love this shirt, I need a shirt, I'm not a chicken day, that's good, that's great, now it makes a lot of sense, Although it sounds like something I would do now. you described it wow you guys are fired up i mean what got you fired up?
Because I mean, they went crazy in a good way, they got their life back, I mean, it's got to feel great, does it feel great? So excited that you sold all your really cool cars, all your stuff, moved out of the big Taj Mahal rental house into an apartment and now you're free, but what made you connect? You know, I actually volunteered at this nonprofit and there's a guy there who tells everyone about Dave Ramsey and they listen to the radio and yeah, he was going to Baton Rouge and the class was about to start FPU mm-hm and He told me: are you going to go to class?
Are you going to class? So we signed up for FPU and I was cold ever since. I thought, oh, we have to do it this week, you know, and that's what was cool and then you told Desmond we were going to class. Yeah, and what's more, he said okay, we can do it, but the thing is, we had a trip to Disney planned in December, oh yeah, so I was like, oh no, we have to cancel. He said, well no, we could wait and I actually prayed and fasted for 40 days, wait for God to bring us together in agreement because I'm a little extreme, that's what he calls me.
I'm just dedicated, I'm not breaking free, I'm just motivated to get through the day, you know? and that really helped us, you know, because in an Accord and yeah, that's a big deal mm-hmm well, once you're in an Accord, nothing can stop you, exactly, nothing can stop you, yeah, and you, you , they are a force to be reckoned with, I mean you will be able to pay cash for a house you will be able to do anything you want to do for the rest of your life the generosity that you will be able to do you will meet people that need help and you will be able to do it and I think about it well 'cause now no one owns you, that's all, yeah, you're no longer a slave to the pawnbroker, that's it, that's a pretty impressive thing, guys, wow, pretty cool, what are you doing?
You tell people that the key to getting out of debt is: oh, that's a great question. One thing I can say is that you have to commit, once you agree to do something you have to commit to doing it and you have to look beyond it. in your current situation you have to see where you want to be more than you see where you are so once you can see beyond that then you can start dreaming and there are many times where we drove around neighborhoods and looked at houses pretty and say, you know, when we get this right, we can go pick out a house, we can do that, you know what we wanted to do right, you know, I hadn't thought about sharing what I used to do, that we were going to drive around the rich neighborhood that is.
Ango, you know one day we could do that, this is what we have, we have to do this and this and then we can get there and it wasn't like, oh we'll never get there, rolling your eyes at those evil rich people. I'm going to be one of you mm-hmm, you know, and that's what you do when you drive through that neighborhood. I'm going to live here. I will live in that one. You know it like this. You know. Well, that's good. I did it. also because it gets inside you, so it doesn't, it does, and then you could sell stupid cars, you know, and get yourself any stupid boat and get another one later, man, because exactly you can live like no one else. then you will be able to live and give like no one else because you won't give up forever, that's right, if you think you're giving up those things forever, it's very painful to sell all those things that you know cleaned the house, literally, I mean.
Angry because I saw the dining room tables, but we don't have a dining room table yet. Get them another one. I think it's healthier to eat standing up. Well you guys, that's how it's done and your young people are with you. your kids I guess so, okay and their names are we have twelve year old DJ's and thirteen year old Christians, okay, cash is king, debt is dumb, their t-shirts say well done, guys, well we have a copy from the book inspired by Chris Hogan's retirement. for you that's the next chapter in your story being millionaires living in that house you used to drive by it I love it I love it I love you guys you're all fun this is great and of course you know that's how it would be be outrageously generous along the way, that's what you're for prepared Desmond Porsche Christian and DJ Baton Rouge Louisiana one hundred seventy-three thousand dollars paid the cash flow to another thirty they did it in twenty-three months they sold everything they had in sight they are free one hundred forty-five thousand plus two hundred sixty-five thousand dollars of income counted down let's hear a shout out debt free one two ready to sing guys that's fun and that's a blast by the way I'm not calling people on YouTube crazy.
