on alley and it's been a crazy couple of weeks we're having a baby and things are just getting started going through an emotional roller coaster life is unpredictable right now but we have a house to build an inspection to complete i just finished walk out and it looks like the inspector is already here and on top of a whole bun in the oven now so this kid is super dramatic what are you kidding me? omg he still has a heartbeat hello how are you We just got out of the hospital and we wanted to show me something uh-oh go away how do you feel big beautiful baby we have a baby she didn't see the heartbeat at first so she didn't want to say anything because maybe she had died or something she was just looking around to find the heartbeat and then he found it and said no this kid is really dramatic it's not like you two have a drama he has two arms and two legs and two ears and two eyes and a nose I mean he was like crazy we saw the umbilical cord it's unbelievable how much he's changed since like 10 days he's alive hello hello what happened guess what are you pregnant we're pregnant ellie what happened and then she went and she hi mom and dad i'm so sorry we shared all this with you to drive you crazy without no reason but thank you so much thank you so much thank you I'm so excited we'll talk to you soon I love you bye we're starting a little late today and it's super excited because you have We were supposed to go to the doctor's office this morning and we're just getting started, it's basically around 11 a.m.

I've been trying to inspect permanent power and insulation. The inspection was supposed to take place today. We ended up having to get through it until tomorrow, so today is our last day to cross all our tees and all our eyes. make sure all the insulation is done m Anyway make sure all the electrical is perfect let's get to work good so Brandon is working on getting that last little piece of trim that needs to be insulated or that last joist gap which must be isolated. here we have the last piece of the air barrier that hasn't been assembled and then down here is where our flexible gas line is here and then inside the conduit raceway that's where our electrical line runs through the gas line right there i need to connect this flexible gas line to that hard gas pipe so we need to insulate the whole area and then we need to pull the air barrier and seal everything in there and i'll be very glad we're done with the insulation so we're making progress a lot and we're excited for the inspector to come tomorrow and hopefully we have a good and smooth run with all the insulation and electrical so we can get permanent power and we can start putting up drywall as well that's the goal at least and in the meantime you're just t finishing up a couple of last minute things the recording um a couple of little things that the inspector had pointed out last time during the four-way that we needed I'll fix you up and while the guys are doing all that I'm going to start cleaning up this area to make it look a little more presentable so if the inspector wants to walk around he really can and it's not just a big mess well hopefully tomorrow the inspection is carried out and we pass and there are no problems or anything that stops us. to move on and then we can continue to work on the foam board on the exterior of the house and we can order drywall so you can put the drywall here and it will probably take them a little while to deliver and then by the time the guy shows up drywall maybe we'll be done with the exterior foam and we can start installing the drywall and we just have some tape and mud and sand paint and then do the siding and then do the ceiling and then build stairs and put up a railing cabinet kitchen ts floor is that the appliances uh ram trim trim trim it will take a long time to finish the job so what you are saying is any day now we can move we are very close that was the whole four way checklist i think so hey hey don't show them we can show them officially oh we can yeah they found out in the last video oh well yeah it's exciting you've been having a lot of emotions recently I'm going through Done on an emotional roller coaster, the baby isn't even. born but I am also building a house which is an emotional roller coaster in itself, we have been struggling and working very hard to try to meet the inspection deadline and it was supposed to be today and obviously we didn't make it. that and now it's tomorrow and now I think it's all done so I'm really excited about that but it's also like a point of relief where it's okay we can take a nap yeah let's take a nap it's been a couple very emotional. days for us ups and downs um doctor appointments and a little bit of stress besides building a house so i think today everything is getting to us a lot of relief that the baby is healthy a lot of relief that we are ready for this inspection tomorrow and with that relief comes a little exhausted and uh, I'm going to vote for the nap.

I don't know about you, but that's my vote. You are going to finish building the house. I'm going to collapse. I am very excited that we have done the things that we had to do. What a day guys it's been so em The traditional roller coaster ride yesterday was the day I bled so bad and went to the doctor and thought I had a miscarriage and there was so much going on that we really just came to terms with the fact that we'd had a miscarriage and these things happened and it's your body's natural way of saying there was something wrong with the baby and we were trying to grieve and breathe through it and help ourselves move on and then the doctor found a baby, a healthy baby, so it really kind of shook us totally in the opposite direction emotionally and it's been such a crazy range of emotions to really worry that there's still something wrong with the baby that could have caused all this bleeding and you still start to I blame you a lot and I've been trying to figure out how to rationalize everything and analyze everything because that's the person I am and there are no easy answers and no solutions to these questions. ace.

Questions that I'm wondering about, so I spent this morning talking to some of my close friends, sharing that story with them and just hearing their opinions and their thoughts and getting a little bit of support from them because as strong as I would. I love to think that I am mentally healthy as I think I am you can never have enough support and people around you who love you and are there for you so if you are watching this just know that I love you thank you um and really not there is nothing else I can do right now other than take it easy and wait until my next appointment and I hope the baby continues to be healthy and grows progressively and normally at each visit so today is a big day and I have to try to redirect a bit and focus on what's happening in the house today because our inspector is coming we have a big inspection scheduled it has nothing to do with being pregnant or having a baby and I'm going to get dressed have breakfast very quickly get the dogs ready come in and wait have a good day and no problems everything else just left and it seems that the inspector is already here and I had no idea that he is charming at least Brandon is here I think taking the tour with him let's see what's up When you just went downstairs ok how are you doing? how's it going?

I'm going to veneer the walls and tongue and groove the ceilings the ceiling the ceilings ahead and start framing that's the best news I've had in a long time we're not doing too bad for two guys well that's just one guy up there oh god, well you're the man have a nice rest of your day yeah well that's awesome news we don't just pass the electricity on so we can have permanent power it will let the power company know we are clean and then we will they're going to put a schedule on they'll probably be here at least within the next seven business days to turn us on but the power guy said that's just to cover their butts so maybe like three or four days we wait once they get it switched on. he can make sure there are no diagnostic issues with the panel and we will actually have power to the house which is really great he also said go ahead and start sheetrocking so I guess we can talk to the sheetrock company and trying to place an order and see how fast they can deliver it was the inspector walked away it was over it was like 30 seconds he came and inspected the panel on the street and checked all that stuff and then he came here and it was like almost done when i was leaving and i got a notification on my phone saying inspection complete yeah i said no it passed us passed us finished the four way with those four things we didn't need no way. quick inspection of the insulation and we passed uh temp power so he said you can start swinging and once you're done hanging you need to have me go outside and inspect all the screws and then you can glue and mud guys that's huge that's awesome wow yeah so we. i'm going to try to get it out and do as much foam on the front of the house right now as we can ok the sun goes down like a standoff and the problem is when you're working on the front of the house this deck is like a lighter color it reflects heat a lot all the windows reflect the sun and heat so here its literally like a tanning bed i know like one of those little silver things that like girls go to bed with microwaves on their faces like one of these exactly oh my gosh it's so bright so we're going to try to do as much as we can on the front of the house and then once the sun goes down like noon we're going to go to the side Yeah, he was just sitting in his truck when I pulled into the driveway, did you talk to him? yeah i said how you doing and he jumped in and went in he just made himself at home he was just waiting for me waiting for you to show that he has to be here soon.

I thought of that. I thought he might show up around eight. but we're pretty high up the mountain and they usually do a lot of inspections in the same day, so I figured he'd have something lower before he got to us, but we were probably his first inspection. Glad to hear it. i jumped and got out of the trailer though yeah me too because i was like having breakfast and talking it should be in a normal alley yeah hanging out it's really nice to be able to look in here and not see crap it's so different and I'm really excited about it What will we end up doing with this space?

There's still some wood here that I think we can still use, but this is all nice and flat for additional parking and we'll grade it a bit more. like driving in the summer when there isn't four feet of snow I'm so excited about all the landscaping potential now that the trash is gone the snow is gone we're slowly getting to that point we've been talking about this for a long time and i think we already spent mothers day without removing the shelter ok let's remove the logic from the shelter i think it's time and it's hot in there last night too we set the thermostat to 65 and it was so hot in there to sleep don't you agree that it's hot why you? you're pregnant friend it's not hot because it's hot i'm going to start sleeping it's hot for me because you're pregnant you sleep next year it makes you feel like hell i feel like we're moving too fast but unfortunately the clock is moving faster than us , in other words this is time consuming but we are killing it yeah we haven't made that much progress but it really is time consuming especially going around the windows because you have to do the foam and then you have to do the mineral wool then you have I have to make the battens and then sometimes I make mistakes and I don'ti put the spacer under the center vent i have to cut the pieces and this is fun i wanted to hear that echo yeah wow all the neighbors just heard me woo thats crazy all the green is fading but we are replacing it with a shade different from green i know i'm a little sad to be honest i really like the color green and that i really like the color green and i wanted to get a siding that was more or less close to that color to keep that big green house fresh in the middle of the snowy mountains as a look and ally vetoed that decision the other color will be much cooler but i think everyone has grown fond of this everyone loves it so aly thinks the other color will be much cooler and a wife happy a happy life so we ditch the green ok i'm not that attached i mean i'm pretty attached to but i'm not that attached to it we've got a little job for everyone and to do in the basement if i can remember erdan a lot of people told us that we were going to need about seven cords of wood during the winter to heat this house and we actually didn't even have the fireplace going for the first third of winter we have two cords of wood and we have about one and a half cords of wood still in the basement needless to say we have to get all that wood out of the basement and i think

is going to tackle that job by removing all the wood from the window in the basement and stacking it under the pallet there is a lot of wood down here it is definitely better having too much rather than too little wood so we had no idea how much we would need this winter and we obviously over-ordered but we can store it until next season it just has to come out of the basement and not sure where it will go also it is very cold in here it is very cold warm outside insulation makes a big difference im really excited about it not really excited to move all this wood but i Me i'll take it easy take my time it's not super intense it's just going to take a while so let's do this you may have noticed i've been taking it easy the last couple of videos and haven't helped as much. and that's because I just want to be safe and protect the baby, but it's also important to exercise and move the body and sweat a little bit and right now I don't have any mobility or movement restrictions so I listen to my body I definitely move a little slower than normal but i'm trying to help as much as possible because it's healthy it's important to me for the baby and we want to finish this house as fast as possible so i'm taking it easy and i'm definitely a little out of breath , but in a good way, I'm controlling my pace and it's nice to move around a bit at the moment.

Trent has a country music playlist that I'm super into. opposite because it's just not the kind of music i grew up with or really enjoy him and brandon are just singing rock out they really enjoy life from him and definitely adds a country edge to the evening. Will you be a city girl with me? I don't love it, but I find myself humming a bit because Trent loves it and you can't help but smile a little. Country is just work music yeah on the east coast it seems a lot more once it's done but when you only have a small section to do you think oh that's quick it'll take 20 minutes it'll take two hours it's really frustrating but more and more my favorite green color is fading and it's just turning into pale vomit green we're killing it mate we only have this little section left at the front of the house and thankfully these clouds have come in and have really started to shade us and we are not dying as badly as we are.

It should be with how hot it is today there's a uh chainsaw or something that keeps starting and I keep thinking it's a mooing cow and like who around here has cats that's funny don't pay attention to some of these they don't seem to line up and stuff, it's because the studs on the house go from 16 inches on center and then here they change to 12 inches on center so things get a little weird there but don't worry we're doing everything correctly. I'm very happy with how it's turning out, but like most jobs. I'll be happy when it's over.

It's been a while since we last grabbed the camera and talked and we're killing it. Look at this. We've got a lot of this insulation done boom boom boom boom boom oh as much as we just have this little piece of splinter here and we're done with the front anyway and I think we should be able to finish the front of the house today we've got about a third of the side The left side of the house is already done and uh you know today is Friday so it's Friday and Saturday Sunday yeah and then when we get back on Monday we'll continue and probably do the left side and maybe the right side of the house and then there's just the back, baby, and i guarantee there are penguins in there right now, it's so cold because the front of the house is sunny. it just absolutely destroys you especially at this elevation and we're feeling it right now and I think when we go to work in the back of the house it's going to be very very cold but that's okay I think I'm ready for the cold with how hot it is today, are you done? we're going to keep pounding this we're going to finish this front of the house and we'll probably finish it for today don't talk like you have a country accent you don't have a country accent well you know it's not the last screw in all the furring strips but it is the last screw On the furring strips today man it's shiny out here I know it's crazy I can't even handle it but you're done with this you did the whole front it took us way longer than I thought it would but I did we did everything and it actually looks very very nice yes I do say so myself we passed the insulation inspection we can get permanent power you guys finished the whole front of the house with the exterior foam we are ready to put the siding on. the front of the house now we can start with drywall or we can order drywall which is really exciting we're going to go with 80 we're done with our house that's what it feels like we'll see in the meantime we're trying to just find joy in life and in construction and in the day-to-day things that we have to do.
