Feb 27, 2020
Hello, welcome back to Call the Clutter Fairy, where I help you free

your

self from clutter so you can live stress-free. In my house there always seem to be these rolls of

wrapping

paper

and cellophane and I never know

what

to do with them so they get stuffed in a closet in the back and they're kind of propped up and then I forget about them or I get a jar trash can and of course the trash can is always this shape so it inevitably falls over. I came up with this strange tube. a PVC pipe and taped it to a plate so it worked it worked the problem is I can't fit everything in here and it's still kind of an eyesore so I saw a trick on Pinterest and thought I'd try it and that's

using

a Shoe storage space over the door.

Now I know

what

you're thinking. This isn't going to hold all the

wrapping

paper

and it may or may not, but I wanted to try it. because I meet clients all the time who are trying to find a solution to

organize

this and store it in a craft closet or a wrapping closet, so this is what we're going to try today and we'll see what I think this is just a over the door shoe

r. I bought it at Target. I think they cost eight dollars. I know they sell them at Dollar Tree, but because of the weight of it, I wanted to get something that was a little more of a chore.

More Interesting Facts About,

I didn't have time to shop at thrift stores and when I went later there were a ton of them there, so if you're on a budget, you have some time and can be patient. I definitely would. I recommend buying a used one but this one will match my room which I'm excited about so let's see how it works so the Pinterest image I saw had slots at the bottom of each of the shoe holes and then the tubes They all just slide off. the way, so the first thing I want to do is set up the shoe rack and see how long it actually is compared to the length of my wrapping paper rolls because I would love to keep a couple of loose or empty tops for the ribbon. this is really long, I'm impressed, so ma'am, let me show you down here, it's got a nice big pocket and I think I'd like to keep it open, four spools of ribbon, some bows, some gift cards and things like that.

This particular one has two larger pockets for larger, simpler shoes. This is where I like the bottom of all the papers to go so I have more room and then I'll start cutting just the bottom of these two sections to slide them in. inside and that way the length doesn't matter on the top, so here's my first roll of cellophane. I'm just

using

the first three to see how it lines up. I could vary the sizes now in my area I have a lot of this. contact paper because I use it on my cricket every time I see a solid color at the dollar store I grab it and this works great with my cricket making the stencils so that's a little trick for you it's a really inexpensive way to do it.

If you ever see these rolls of contact paper and it's a color you like, go for it. I'm probably not going to put them here. I'm not too sure yet, so I'm going to put them aside for now and I'm going to fast forward through the rest of this so you don't see me go step by step too quickly. I'm using rubber bands on some of these little spools, but if you don't have a rubber band around them, they all have empty rolls. of toilet paper, cut it up and it's a perfect holder for the wrapping paper tubes to stay closed and can be easily removed afterwards.
You can also do this with a half roll of paper towels only, make it any size you want, but these are amazing, they expand and slide easily and keep the rolls closed. Here's another question for you. When you have leftovers, do you roll them up and put them inside or do you store them as something separate? I'm just curious, let me. a comment below, that's how I've presented it so far. I have the high rolled to the side and it looks like they're going to need to cut off two of the sections of the shoe and then they'll rest on the bottom of these little guys. range it looks like I'll have to cut out a section of the shoe and then I decided to put my contact papers here because they are much larger than my Cricut vinyl rolls that I buy if you have a silhouette or a Cricut they are super small they measure 12 inches in compared to the transparent contact paper rolls, so I've decided to go ahead and keep them in the larger section to remember where they are, keep them together and not with dog ears when I kept them in that tube, the bottom part didn't even I realized this, they're really hitting us at the end, so I'm going to try this so they only need one.
I won't even need to cut it up, so I'll keep the whites together. I'm going to keep the colored ones together and I'm going to keep the black ones that I use most often together, so let me cut them out and I'll show you. what the final result looks like, so I have the first pocket here. I made a cut and I'm not going to use a knife because I don't want to go through both sides. I'm just moving carefully along the bottom. seen with my sewing scissors and it's actually very easy to cut and then it has this little folded edge.
I'm cutting back to expose the bottom so it's a completely open area. You see it? And that's the way it's going to go. through the shoe pocket and resting in the big bottom pocket because it's very long, although I need that second section so it doesn't fall out, so that's what I'm going to cut off now, so I hope you can see this. I'll just make a cut on the first fold as close to the bottom seam as possible, cutting it all the way, going back on the fold and then one last time to get full access to that pocket and now it's completely open, so now this large, heavy tube is supported by two shoe sections and rests in the bottom pocket.
I think I'm going to like this. These are just my tall wrapping papers. Good. I have three tubes there. I could probably get a room. Yes, I could. I'll easily get a fourth, but I'm just going to put my long tubes in this particular one, so I'm not going to stick another one in there, so now I'm going to do this section with my medium length rolls and then continue. on my little shorts, so on this one I'm only going to cut out one section, so this is this one here and again, getting as close to the bottom seam as possible.
Once I get past the fold, I'll simply cut along the bottom seam. back and cut against the crease, it's just a little crease for the shoe to fit inside, now it's completely open and now my size medium can fit in, yeah that's pretty awesome, now I like it I'm sure. If you have a lot of wrapping paper this is going to be problematic so I put five rolls in this and you can see there's still room in this section so if I had a little piece I could probably put it at the bottom. I don't know if you can see that, but I'm not too disappointed with this.
Yes, I'm very happy with that. I think if you have those giant rolls that you get at Costco or Sam's Club, I'd probably just put one of those rolls in each of these, but if you just have

your

normal everyday wrapping paper on one and maybe your wrapping paper Christmas and other, I think this would accommodate about 30 rolls per side of the shoe and you could back them up and/or lay them back to back and put them in a hallway closet or hang them in your garage and out of season when you're not using it and I think which would be pretty cool so I'm pleasantly surprised with how this works so let me do the little contact papers and see how it works when you pick it up.
I could choose to go ahead and cut it after all and I still have this whole bottom section down here for the folded wrapping paper or four spools of my curly ribbon. I'm going to use the top section which is what's still up here to put my scissors and put my tape on so I can see it because this bottom section down here, I'm pretty sure. If I can't see, I'll lose my tape and my scissors, so I want them to be visible, so when I hang it up I really like how it goes and how it stays together, the one that's in one pocket that doesn't go. to work for me, so I'm going to go ahead and cut here so it goes all the way to the bottom and I'll have to reach it because it's shorter than where the access is, but I'll still be happier for you to do it.
Standing and then falling, that will drive me crazy, so give me a second while I cut it up and we'll take a look at the finished product. I'm not hating this. I was able to go get my Christmas wrapping, which I didn't have in that tube I had made previously. I was able to add my contact paper. I was able to add ribbons, gift bags, and tissues. And I also have Domino's saying hello. I also have my scissors and tape here, so I'm going to put the tripod up, excuse me for a second, so here I have the leftover areas, so I put my curling tape on and I still have an empty package here.
I have my wand. I love them, it's like a corsage and the ribbon just appears, they are only one size. I find them at Dollar Tree. I have my scissors. I could add other scissors in there if I want and then here are the big long tubes as well as my shorter tubes and then here at the bottom. Well, I hit them once inside and here, at the bottom, I found my gift bag. I have my tissue paper. I think it was amazing. Well, guys, that's all I have for today. Let me know what you thought of this trick.
I see.
