Jun 11, 2021
Hello people how are you? Oh wow, we hit 1000 subscribers on the channel and well, I just want to thank each and every one of you for subscribing. It means a lot to me and you know that technically we reached a thousand subscribers. sometime last week and I just wanted to save it for this particular video because I want to include it in the introduction, I thought it would be a little coherent and well, today we have the

oneplus

9 pro

review

and well, you know if I would sum it up in a few In words, all I will put together is a very

good

and very interesting flagship, but it has its own set of nuanced quirks, in a matter of speaking of course, now before delving into the

review

.

Well, I just want to make it clear, there will be cases where it will seem like I'm being very picky, especially when it comes to certain features that some people might consider not so important, but keep this in mind. The job is to give you as much detail as I can in a relatively short time, so yes, I might be a little nitpicky, but you know, on a flagship like this, I think little net selection is required, but let's move on anyway. to the design basically. This one has no network selections, in my opinion it is essentially perfect because in my hands I felt that the design of the

oneplus

9 pro was taking all the advantages as whatever it is comfort, looks, texture and also fingerprint resistance on The Stellar Black in particular, if you are going to go for the glossy versions, it goes without saying that fingerprints will be a major issue.

I really wish all versions had a matte finish, but that's really the case, so I highly recommend you go. for this stellar black, it's the best, it's among the best finishes I've ever had in my hands, it's right next to the s21 ultra phantom black, just fantastic, now for the camera module, I think it's not as boisterous and bold like the s21 ultra, but I think it has a unique enough look that you won't be disappointed on the front once again. A very similar story. There are no complaints as such. I mean, the curves are there and I know some people just hate curves because of them, obviously.

It's not going to be 100 perfect, but I think with the curves as minimal as they are, I think it's amazing, it looks premium, feels great in the hand and obviously has very

palm rejection, at least in my experience. That's been the case with the Punch Show, we've seen it time and time again over the last two years and it's become obvious now that this is the layout we're going to have until we get to the viewing cameras, so to that point , Well. This is basically the best you can get, so the design, as I said initially, is perfect, now it displays well, that's where things can be a little hit and miss in terms of speaking again, like the problems I encounter can bother you or not. so keep that in mind so most of the screen is 1440p 120 hertz it has all the good stuff it even has 10 bit color which comes into play in hdr we'll talk about that in a moment but the problem What I have noticed is that this time we have a very high quality ltpo display that gives us 120 hertz variable between 1 and 120.

Now the problem here is that when you try to scroll, especially sometimes in the UI and more frequently. When I try to scroll through the Google feed, I noticed quite a few statuses. I'm not sure if I can display them properly on camera, but trust me when I say that the stutters are definitely there and in the last month and a half or two months that I've used this phone, those titles haven't exactly been fixed, so I want point out that it doesn't always happen, but since oneplus mojo it's almost like the beginning of time. there's been a focus on fluidity, yes this particular screen just doesn't feel as fluid with all that stuttering, it's especially noticeable and especially annoying because it's a oneplus device, I think that's the best way I can put it, I find it incredibly annoying.
I implore you guys to go to a store if possible of course and then just use the phone you know, scroll around a bit to see if those stutters are really going to bother you, if you notice them and then go for the oneplus 9 pro because In my experience these states haven't exactly been a pleasure cruise, but the rest of the screen is really good, 1440p super sharp and I set it to variable 1440p, it will basically adjust the resolution based on battery usage, so that is In my opinion it is a safe bet, we will also get to the battery, but the content consumption, on the other hand, the colors, the contrast, the brightness, everything is there.
The brightness is not the highest we have seen at the moment, I think the highest is 1700 nits. on a smartphone, I mean, compared to that, 1300 nits is a little bit lower, but it's still pretty amazing since I can still use it in broad daylight and I don't have any problems with visibility. HDR 10 and 10 plus look amazing at maximum brightnesses. Basically a great screen that's what I'm trying to say, there are issues like status but it's a great screen and speaking of HDR well I like it as the 10 bit color really helps to avoid any kind of bands in all ingredients. really clean but you know the contrast and saturation, also the white balance, in some cases I felt it was a bit off as most of the time I've noticed the hdr looks a bit flat on the oneplus 9 pro, I realize something.
People may like the flat look but I personally prefer a much more impactful look, something like the s21 ultra can provide that. Overall, I think the screen is fine. I don't want to rate it. I'll sound like a fucking schoolteacher. but I think we're going to give it a not a plus like the design, we're going to give it one now for the cameras well honey, there's a lot to talk about here, I'm going to do a review dedicated to the camera soon enough, but in few words, I'm just going to say that it's almost like a crazy party here in good and bad because on the front camera side, I think it's lacking a little.
Because the front cameras are obviously used for selfies and I'm not a big fan of how selfies turn out on the oneplus 9 pro, I've quite often noticed that the skin tones aren't particularly good and you know the field of view isn't it is. really huge and the selfie video is quite annoying. I don't use selfie videos, believe me, I've never used selfie videos apart from the camera comparison I do, but on a flagship model only 1080p 30 is not great colors or dynamic range in certain situations it's not exactly nice to see the rear cameras , however, they tell a completely different story because the main camera here, well, is not like the previous one, in addition to the devices where you will look for really striking colors, especially in similar photographs.
I've noticed that it can be a little too flat and a little too desaturated at times, not always just in some cases, I've noticed them, you know, that's to be expected because oneplus with the hasselblad partnership made sure to get the point across to each person who I want natural colors now it may be a little too flat trying to get those natural colors whether you like it or not, but that's the ultra wide camera on the other hand, yes, essentially, this is the best ultra wide camera for photography that We've seen it before, we'll get to the video soon enough, but for photos, I think this ultra white camera produces consistently amazing results and there are very few cameras that can come close now in night mode photography, I think that's it.
The only place where we could use a little improvement because, especially with the alphabet camera, we need more exposure time, essentially even in the darkest situations. I've noticed that the ultra wide camera will only take about a second and a half or two. exposition like, come on, we can easily hold the phone still for three, maybe even four seconds, if we have to. I'd love to see at least the option to get a long exposure. I know for a fact that if we get a four second exposure, this water red camera could do wonders on the main camera.
It's a similar story with night mode. I think a little more exposure, especially in very dark situations, could help a lot, but otherwise the night mode situation is excellent. Here now we have three times. The optical zoom here is eight megapixels, so that's a shame, you know, it's not very high quality, it gets the job done, but it's nothing to write home about and you can't take 4k video with the threex optical zoom either. , This is a lot. It's a shame in terms of versatility and well, we also have a black and white sensor. I've never used it.
I'll tell you now like never before. I completely forgot we had a black and white sensor anyway. So for portraits, I think it's like that. a place where oneplus still needs to improve. They have come a little far. I think sometimes I feel like skin tones are produced better. Sometimes the contrast can be slightly balanced, but to be honest, there are phones that can do it. better with portraits and human subjects in general, like skin tones, hdr contrast, all that together, it's pretty mediocre on the oneplus 9 pro. I wish it was better, believe me when I heard about the partnership with Hasselblad and everything I really hope for. which would work on the skin tone side, but unfortunately that's not really the case, plus you can't use a 3x optical zoom when you're using portrait mode, I don't know why it just crops in 2x, that's not So.
It's exactly nice to see it now for the video as promised. Basically, you can get very good quality video from both the main and ultrawide cameras, but that's it because let's face it, in 2021 you want at least at the very least you want 4k video. I have to switch to 1080p to take three times optical zoom to video and that's like 1080p should only be used for slow motion in my opinion anyway for main cameras I think they can produce really good and high quality videos but I have noticed some issues in terms of consistency with exposure and contrast balance, but trust me, this one has great dynamic range, but you know it can be a little iffy with exposure and that may or may not end up being a problem for you, for me it wasn't the biggest deal breaker but I feel like Oneplus should be able to improve this, we never know, maybe we'll see this major update that fixes everything now.
Ultra Wide Video, Just like in photography, this is basically the best ultra wide camera for video too. You can get amazing images in 4k30 and 4k 60, such as the amount of detail this circuit camera can capture along with the amount of light in some low light situations. It's amazingly good. Again, there are countless cameras that can even compare to this ultrawide performance. Like the main camera, it's very comparable to many of the other smartphones, but the ultra-wide camera is really where it shines. Honestly, it's so good that I'm willing to easily forgive the lack of versatility in terms of zoom.
You know, it's really impressive. I mean, there are some shortcomings: you can't actually use 4k 120 with the ultrawide. I really wish we could do that because it's a fantastic feature, but you can use 8k on the ultrawide and it is, and I'm a big fan of 8k30 on the ultrawide. Cameras like the main cameras can deliver incredibly detailed and really good 8k video, but in the ultrawide it's just extra nice, so to speak. Honestly, it's really impressive on the oneplus 9 pro. I think the best way I can sum it up is that Although the oneplus 9 pro doesn't give you the most consistent video across the board, like I'm talking about exposure contrast, all that good stuff, but it does give you some of the most exotics, like 8k 30 on the ultra wide and even amazing 80. 30 on the main cameras too, then we have 4k 120 slow motion, that's right man, that's basically my second favorite feature after 8k 30 on the ultra wide camera, so overall if you think about it all those features together make a solid package for someone who is willing to use them, i think that is a very important part when considering these cameras as a whole, if you want the oneplus 9 pro you will have to Be prepared to see some inconsistencies like I said before, but if you are more interested in these crazier features and don't mind the fact that the selfie videos are rubbish, then you will be very impressed with what the oneplus 9 press videography has. to offer;
It's obviously not perfect and it's not perfect either. It doesn't seem to focus surprisingly well compared to other flagships, but it will get the job done, that's what I'm saying, yeah, if you're going to run around with the camera hoping to focus on, you know, something snappy and small like Valentine's Day, in my case, you might run into some obstacles so overall i think the camera on the oneplus 9 pros will be impressive but some people may find it off-putting because now there are sacrificesfor the battery. I think this part is going to be pretty fast because it's a one-plus device, it has amazing efficiency and you know that the screen in particular with 120 variable hertz, if you combine it with 1440p dynamic, you know it's going to give you very good battery life and overall I found that I have got about six hours and a little bit more like six hours ten six hours fifteen minutes I really haven't liked the success 30 though, at least in my use case, you know, medium to heavy , mainly using the cameras, I felt that it is not as good, as you know, some of the other devices out there with 5000m batteries, but it will do the job nice and easy, but there is a small positive side here because, although it is not The best battery in the world, it has one of the fastest charges.
Like me I always use wireless charging and mine is I think it's a 10 watt wireless charger so it's nothing special I just charge overnight so I don't really care but if you're interested we have charging warp, I think it's 65 watts this time and we also have very fast wireless charging support. I think it's proprietary, so yes, you'll have to work out some bugs for wireless charging, but hey, we've got a charging brick in the box, so that's a windfall. There you know, like any other smartphone, this one has some issues and you'll have to decide for yourself if you're ready to live with them or not, and I know I didn't really talk about the software because I don't think there's much to talk about, essentially the Oxygen OS is amazing, it's obviously not as customizable as a Samsung UI, but you know, it's basically my second favorite Android skin, it's much better than the Android one in my opinion and Overall I think it's a solid device.
If you think about it, he has some problems, but I mean, I enjoyed my time with him, so that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed it if you did. Like button, subscribe if you have. I don't do it anymore and I'll see you later, greetings.
