they have been discussing and offering they have been back and forth, uh, proposals more back and forth between the Jets and Odell, but what was needed to consummate that deal before anything was finalized was to make sure Odell got a physical and they could get on the same page. regarding his role, I've actually been talking to sources about that situation and wanting the Jets to just clear that up regarding his understanding, but even yesterday when I spoke to him, one of the things he told me was that it was like man, you know, I just gotta tell you Joe, I'm feeling the Baltimore Ravens love in regards to, uh, just making him feel uh wanted and it's been a long time my understanding that the Ravens were willing to do, even whatever it takes from a monetary standpoint, to bring Odell closer to, uh, the value that he feels he brings, uh, as a Super Bowl champion and as someone who has proven his talents over the duration. of his career and what happened today really again because I'm having a déjà vu that reminds me of what happened the day he announced and confirmed he was going to the Rams so if you'll allow me to reflect on that day a little bit uh when it was the morning, the whole time my feeling was that he was going to go to the Packers just because of his desire to play Aaron Rodgers and, you know, play an all-time great quarterback and, uh, one of the things what he said to me that morning, if I remember correctly, was that, um, he was going to hold off his decision until next week and I was like great, I can relax, I don't have to think about this and whatever, and I remember jumping on a punch uh with you guys CBS Sports HQ it's around one or two o'clock in the afternoon and right when I got off the phone or excuse me right after I was done doing this uh hit with you guys at that point um he would let me know he had changed of opinion and that day I was hearing about Von Miller and Jalen Ramsey and Cooper cup and all that other stuff and I was getting the warmth of that team and if you guys notice you know I haven't said much about Twitter in regards to everything I've been telling you about. i just said i know

has the ability to be fluent and he really tries to take the time to listen to his heart and spirit um i haven't talked to him much today and that was really funny because i was talking to a source and i said , you know what's really quiet and, you know, I noticed that his text messages hadn't turned green all day today because, you know, you know, you know, fly from here to there I said that to someone in the last two hours but I went back to Easter with the family and all that other stuff and um and obviously things really started to change um you know very quickly but I go back to what he told me yesterday he told me yesterday and frankly I was having conversations with jet sources uh even today in regards to knowing where everything was but what people need to know I would say is that even going back to the owners meetings when Odell met with the Ravens that wasn't the first time that these two parties have been talking, they've been talking for a while, you know, the owner Steve biscotti as i just tweeted on twitter just told me you know yesterday.

He continued to be in Odell's ear in regards to the pitch of coming to the Ravens and you know what his role would be and his ability to lead the wide receiver squad there and obviously be an integral part and really top it off. goal for the organization that is fixing everything with lamar jackson and let me get in on it can i do it real quick because the story the story you just told about

and the rams and then follow up with owner steve bashati may be instructive here because if Odell was listening to the Rams players and that had something to do with the love he felt for La at the time he was listening to Steve bishotti, the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, it begs the question of where he is The sea.

Jackson in all of this because one of the things the Ravens have been hit with is that they haven't put together the best receiving corps for Lamar Jackson throughout his career, getting an Odell Beckham Jr. could change. that where the Ravens are and how does this affect what happens with the Ravens and Lamar Jackson so yeah, as I was getting ready to say, I know the Ravens recently had their draft presser and there were some trades, you know, just between the Officials and the media, you know, stopped questions about the labar and some people took that away, you know, ah, you know this is, uh, indicative of the tone of where they are and maybe they're going through because I you know.

I had also reported that the team had a meeting with Anthony Richardson, but from my conversations that I have had and continue to have and have said this on Twitter, the Ravens realize that Lamar Jackson presents them with the shortest hypotenuse between where they they are now and their ultimate goal is to consistently be a contender in the postseason and make it to the Super Bowl and even if they draft a quarterback that quarterback will need time to get acclimated and get into the system even though it's a new system for everyone with offensive coordinator Todd monkin but if you have your preference it would be with Lamar Jackson at qb1 and there will be some sort of meeting in an appropriate medium as to where things stand now that they have placed a non-exclusive tag on him for 32 million and what he's been asking for they feel like it makes business sense huh they still want Lamar huh they still love Lamar huh but both the owner and the head coach and everybody in that building are still businessmen and would still like to deal with this like businessmen Justina Anderson never a dull moment Justina thank you very much for jumping in Happy Easter by the way thank you im trying thank you Justina Anderson ladies and gentlemen Odell Beckham Jr about to be one of the newest members of the Baltimore Ravens who ranked last in the NFL last
