, that's what we're making this video for because when we moved here about a year ago and a half ago we searched on YouTube we wanted to try to find something that had some kind of information to help us move, uh, because we wanted to move on the base, there really was nothing. So what we're going to cover in this video is the Lighthouse Terrace community and, um, the three-

bedroom

house, okay, and we'll go over the square footage, um, the pros, the cons, the good, the bad, the ugly, all at the end of the video after we give you the tour of the house so that hopefully you can learn from some of the mistakes and questions and everything else that we had here so that it will better prepare you for your future move if they decide to do so.

Do this, anyway, without further ado, I'm going to start before doing the house from the front because there isn't any video showing the front area or the parking lot, so we're going to go outside and then I'm going to go in and show you everything , so coming out front, this is what your parking lot will look like and these are the houses, okay, now it comes, this is, this is your decent sized front porch. front porch, I mean, um, yeah, that's it, uh, let's go into the house now, okay, coming in straight, right, left or right, sorry, here's the laundry room, bar , bar, wait, I was.

I'm going to get to that because it's pretty funny, it's not just a laundry room, it's also a bathroom and it has a sink and your door doesn't open all the way because of the sink, so yeah, really weird, I've never done that. something like that before, but hey, if you have to go to the bathroom and go, hey, I need to fluff my clothes, you're there, okay, yeah, okay, let's go to the next little compartment here on the right and this one. it's like a pantry area, okay, oh, scary mask up there from Halloween, okay, I'm walking down the hall a little bit more.

This door here has a very old type air conditioning unit and heater and everything else, hot water heater and everything. There, um, that serves no purpose for you to do anything. Now this is a closet and at first it was great, we could put our jackets in there, but again, the space is very, very like there is no space here. I know this seems messy and you. they're like what the heck and I've never had a shoe rack, we never thought we'd have a shoe rack either, but you don't have much space in here, okay, coming back, this is your dining room and living room area, I mean, well, you know what? we didn't put them I would say uh stairs we'll go up there in a minute um some people do it differently some people put their living room area here and then. your dining area over here uh, but you know, we swapped it, we didn't want to do that, yeah, then we'll go to the kitchen, what's this from another angle?

Okay, actually there's my beautiful wife, so I guess. We'll start again in this corner. One thing my wife likes to remind me at least weekly is that there isn't enough counter space. You have some closets up here. Put what you want, but I am. I'm sure you're making your own assessment based on your house, like everything fits together, that's why I want to do this by moving in here, sink under the storage, you have room for your cabinet up here and it comes with a dishwasher and then this refrigerator, uh. It also comes with the refrigerator.

It has an ice maker, but the ice that comes out of it is ours, at least in our house. This is taking up a bit of space. We have a small hutch, but you have some space here. so if you have a little bistro table, you could actually, yeah, a couple of chairs, yeah, okay, let's go upstairs. Stay with this. The only reason we bought this is because we have small children, as you can see, and one of the things we were worried about. When you get to the top of the stairs, there's a little railing right here, but you can see it's high enough to be curious and we were thinking we don't want him to look and see what's going on. so we did this to keep us from running around trying to find any kind of furniture to put in here something to think about if you have little kids just for safety if you have some kind of cabinet or hatch that's a little bit higher uh that's a It's a big concern for us and if you don't have kids then it's not a big deal, but we want to mention, okay, we'll start with Rowan's room, so, yeah, here you go, this is as big as the room.

It's, she has a decent amount of furniture and I mean, it's not bad, everything fits, yeah, and the cabinets are standard, yeah, the cabinets, the cabinets, the standard size cabinets, I mean, there's nothing special, goes back a little bit further here, uh, this is ours. My son's room is about the same size as the other one and the same, uh, closet, I think his closets are bigger than ours now that I'm thinking about it, no, they're just long, well, yeah, I bet you , if you know, they leveled it. probably everything would be the same okay we only have one shower oh yeah there's only one shower and it's in this upstairs bathroom and the rest just have a toilet and sink yeah the other one so there's three toilets and sinks yeah , upstairs, yeah and then here's our bathroom um, it's just a normal size bathroom, it has a tub and a shower, yeah, and the shower moves over here, this is the master

Yes, and again, this is specifically for the three of us. bedroom the four bedrooms have four bedrooms have a different layout, so this one has a walk-in closet and I think with the four bedrooms, oh my gosh, pee-wee herman's in the corner, the closet is smaller in the four bedrooms, um, I think and then but they have two showers thank you great so there are significant differences in the extra bedroom yeah that's it. From this point I'm going to take you and show you the backyard real quick, okay, so just to give you an idea.

area here has its own little cul-de-sac as I showed you up front. This is like a central courtyard that separates the other

houses from the

lighthouse

, so there's another dead end there and then there's another dead end there, so yeah, this is the backyard, literally, there's no system of sprinklers here, okay, so if you want to plant grass because you're like, oh man, he hasn't done anything in the backyard, I know. It drives me crazy, but you have to think about space again, if I plant seeds here and I want to get grass for the kids to play on, then you're going to have to maintain it and mow it, and that brings me to this guy here. you don't have a garage here you have a little shed to store your stuff and it seems long and oh that's great you have a lot of space but it's divided with the neighbors over there so you really just have this little little cubby to fit in as much as you can here that's it the wall is there and the other part belongs to the neighbor so it's like it's better organized but my wife just threw things there it's fine but if you get it a lawnmower and you want to plant seeds, you're going to have to store them somewhere and if you only have limited space to store things, your lawnmower is going to take up a lot if you leave it here in the Pensacola climate, you're going to buy a nice lawnmower that's going to ruin the elements. .

We wanted to mention some of the pros and cons and a little more specific information about the three-bedroom house in the Lighthouse Terrace neighborhood. There are a few different neighborhoods on base and this one specifically. It's called a

lighthouse

, so this is the information just for this three-bedroom house. The size is 1210 square feet and something also important is that you only have one assigned parking spot, so if you and your spouse have a vehicle, the other spots are for visitors. If they are not assigned, so first come first serve you might have a bit of a difficult part, but it usually works, most of the time there is something similar, so you won't have to walk a few times very well.

Things are also, if you have kids, there are two parks within walking distance, um uh, one is like a whole slide, you know, we could make a video about that, we'll show it to you if you're curious and then the other one, um, has others . play equipment but they are decent parks so if you have kids you can walk straight to them and one of the parks is right next to the community center and sometimes they do activities, crafts with the kids. Santa's holiday is there and right outside. the community center is a splash pad in the summer so it's walking distance too so it's a bit of fun for the kids, really nice.

It was closed all of last year due to Covid, obviously, but once things open up, that's the way it will be. Great, yeah, in the meantime, and also, any of these neighborhoods, around here, it's only like a 15, maybe 20 minute walk to the beach, probably like 15, but if you're going to drive your car, it's literally two minutes around . corner so being so close to the beach has been super awesome and it was when we moved here that I was looking up information to see if the base had private beach access so it wasn't open to the public and it's private beach access beach only for people who are authorized to be on the base, so there are not that many people, yes, there are not many people at all, it is very good that they have lifeguards, yes, so it is really good, we could also make a video of that.
