My Queen Fire Ant Moving Into Avatar Floating MountainsJun 06, 2021
coffee, while looking for signs of the
queen. And then I saw it! Breeding! The ants had finally moved on to the next phase of emigration! Now they were
movingin the brood! Sending out the brood meant that the ants had built enough nest chambers to accommodate them, and it meant that at any moment the
queenwould move in too. Look how the ants go! Now all she had to do was wait for the queen. 1 hour passed, 2 hours passed, three hours, four hours, five hours, six hours. All this time, I made sure to watch the other three tubes as much as I could, in case our bets were wrong.
But inside I felt like I had to be in the Fire Fortress! 7 hours. 8 hours. 9 a.m. There is no queen yet. I was very sleepy at this point, but I had to stay awake and keep checking all the tubes! 10 a.m. 11 a.m. 12 noon At the 13th hour, the sun came up the next day and I had had the most epic night of my life! I remember that adrenaline was pumping through my blood all the time, so the night went by in a blur, but I kept watching as always the whole time, and you have to remember that I was filming all of this in 4K, so I had to constantly change my cards. memory, dumping the footage onto a hard drive, and rotating my camera batteries as they died overnight. 2 p.m. 3 p.m. 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
There is no queen yet. By 6 p.m., I had almost lost all hope. She may have slipped into the territories through one of the other tubes without me catching her. A part of me was about to give up, but I couldn't ignore a voice inside me telling me not to give up and to stay awake for another 20 minutes. I so needed and wanted to see our Ember Empress, especially since this would probably be the last time we would see her, and I kept imagining how wonderful the video would be if we could film this colossal moment in the history of the Phoenix Empire.
Furthermore, it would be simply tragic if the queen fell to her death during this move. I gathered all my strength to keep pushing! Somehow I managed to make it to the 19th hour, and then as I started drifting away somewhere around the 20th hour, after being up for almost 26 hours straight executing this emigration, something happened that I will never forget. Take a look at who finally decided to escape our tube. AC family, let's bow when she passes. Behold the only great Empress Ember. As she walked by, I felt so much joy. If she hadn't been looking, she probably would have missed her since she lay so close to the ground, obscured by masses of ants that swarmed around her in hopes of hiding her from view.
It must have been my sleepy stupor, but the sight brought tears to my eyes, as I suddenly returned to all the memories we shared, raising this beloved colony of
fireants together with so much love, only since this pregnant Empress Ember in a test tube. I watched with wide eyes as the Empress of Embers emerged from the tube, escorted by a group of workers from the Phoenix Empire, climbed the slope of Mount Venus and dove first into the crown, into the depths of its soils. After months of searching for it, AC Family, we successfully watched it and it would probably be the last time we would see it again.
She was exhausted, my voice hoarse, but in my heart, she was so grateful for this! And so, the most important member of the Phoenix Empire was inside and safe, and thus began a new chapter in the history of the Phoenix Empire, a new era within these great lands we call the Ember Islands. Life for the Phoenix Empire was going to be a whole new epic level from now on! AC Family, did you enjoy today's episode? Did they guess correctly which tube she would come out of?
