Mr AMG on the New G63! - From Past to Present!

Jun 01, 2021
Give me the keys to the g-wagen and you'll remember to like and subscribe. Hey guys, welcome back to a pre-race move and a big welcome to all our new subscribers and followers. Guys, in recent videos we've been watching. History of some of the other automakers before doing the main review, but even though my namesake is Mr. We've never really delved into what is arguably the richest history of the entire auto industry, that of the three-pointed star, and no story is perhaps richer than that of the Glenda wagon, but you see, we can't attend to that yet. because this wasn't actually the first 4x4 that Mercedes made you see, the first one is actually this one and it was called the Dern Berg wagon, you see Mercedes was building cars before their rivals were even a wet dream in their pants founders and this was built in 1907 and was requested by a man of the same name who was the secretary of state of the colonial office in Africa and was essentially made to traverse rough terrain and unpaved roads and in fact was designed by the son of Gottlieb Dana and this one had all-wheel drive, it even had rear-wheel or four-wheel steering, so it was way ahead of its time and before any other manufacturer had done it, but of course this was just the origin of all-wheel drive for Mercedes.

Benz, the real first SUV, was suggested by the Shah of Iran back in the 1970s that Mercedes should build one and he was a pretty big shareholder in Mercedes at the time, so Mercedes got together with Austrian companies Styron Pook and together they began half linga two. projects and started in Austria and in the grasslands of exactly the same factory where the g-wagen is still made today, so the car was finally launched in 1979 with the model designation GE and came in three or four variants different, so we had the classic truck look. We had a shorter wheelbase with two doors, a soft top, a shorter wheelbase and there was also a windowless version and the car was even modified to win the dakar rally which is a famous and infamous part of the history of the g-wagen and, of course, the first.

More Interesting Facts About,

mr amg on the new g63 from past to present...

The car also sat on a ladder chassis, like the current one, it also had three locking differentials and came with a host of petrol and diesel engines and it is this setup that allowed it to conquer terrain so well and became famous for this and because of this today it has been used by more than 63 armies, hell, there was even a POJO variant called p4 and not only that, I mean, even the Pope had a popemobile version, I mean, it became very popular in the first interior we will reach. Later, because it's very important for the new car, it was very tough, but it has a certain charm when you look back on it, even now, so we had a kind of mild update in the '80s that brought with it the automatic gearbox, the electric windows electric anti-lock brakes a little better on the inside, but as you'll notice, there's a trend with most G-wagen updates: it's all under the skin, keeping the same look while improving usability and car experience, so on the G's 10th anniversary it got another update this time with three electric locking differentials making it even better on and off the road and it was at that time that customers started to realize that the G Wagon was getting a little slow so Mercedes offered their first v8 g wagon which was the 500 GE soon to be renamed g 500 like all mercedes at the time the front differential was removed and replaced with more leather and luxury and it was for a customer that Mercedes was starting to be a little more aware of now, you think?

They would have taken a hint from the gray market in the US, where G trucks were imported for over a decade just to be modified and sold to customers, not necessarily for off-road use but as luxury, selling for six. The figure is almost double what it was in Europe, but, you see, that was not enough. Hunger for a more powerful G wagon was growing among Mercedes' customer base. So what did MB do in 2002? They gave the g wagon to AMG to work on their business. There was magic in it and the first child of an iconic range was born the G 55 AMG.

This one came with a 5.5 liter naturally aspirated engine with 349 brake horsepower and 0-60 acceleration in just under 7 seconds and then, that was pretty impressive in the Northeast kids and the G 55 was a real success all over the world, so the development continued on this car, which became more and more powerful, as planned, they continued to adjust the gear and put more and more power into the engine, but the one that worries us the most for this. The review is before the new car which was the first generation 63 AMG G and that is the g63 AMG which was later renamed the AMG G 63.
Now this was a big change in 2012 from the original G Wagon probably It was the largest to date at this time and came with a hugely updated interior compared to what we had before it had the AMG screens, all the proper lingua tronic command system, a much more luxurious front dashboard and of course , on the outside it also changed a lot, it finally got an AMG-specific grille with a double bar grille, more aggressive LED lights on the front bumper, it came with a 7-speed gearbox instead of the 5 speeds that the G 55 had , but despite all that it still had a recirculating ball for the steering, which is old technology, and the front axle was still fixed, so it essentially still handles like a drunk elephant.
It had the 5.5-liter Biturbo that replaced the legendary 6.2 engine in previous AMGs and this was a powerful engine with 506 horsepower on all three brakes. and shot the car from zero to 60 in 5.2 seconds, which is no small feat. If you add that to a car with vague steering, it made for a very, very interesting ride, let's put it that way, so I mean, I even had a 4-. 6-3 Edition and I must say I have never felt so depressed when figuring out how a car drives in my entire life. It was actually quite scary. Don't get me wrong, I fell in love with the classic nature of the G, certain elements I'll discuss later, but it's exactly the same way you would fall in love with driving any old car, none of the parts I loved had anything to do with the AMG formula of the car and of course, It had other variants of that particular 4-6-3 range, there was a G 65 which was very similar, if not more boring, because it lacked sound and then of course we had other variants big ones, as well as all kinds, like the four.
When you square up the six by six, hell, it even had that weird back, so with a price tag close to that of an Eames GTS, you end up with a car that had horrible lag, no really discernible AMG noise, a cabin as big as an a - Class and handling like a smart car, it wasn't really an attractive car, certainly not for me, so the G just had to change and we got a hint of this when Mercedes showed the G-force concept, to which they nodded. and saying yes, we're looking at the G, it won't be far behind, so a lot of people were worried that this is what the final G would look like.
Fortunately, that was not the case and instead Mercedes took on the development of the G themselves, instead handing the entire project over to AMG, this should indicate how serious they were about getting the driving dynamics right and it wasn't just for the g63 but also for the standard G because under Tobias Mores the CEO of AMG has to have a decent level of driving performance so he wasn't going to allow a car to have an AMG badge unless it deserved it, so during the time the first T 63 was launched, AMG set to work on the next generation, the goal was to keep the engine offline. drivability of the G along with that classic G character but allowing an unashamed AMG badge to be displayed, so it had to have some AMG and those crazy people had some great ideas, so first of all they got rid of that old steering system and instead we have variable rack and pinion ratios and now we are going to get some feel in the steering wheel and we can also get technology like lane keeping, automatic parking and autonomous driving, which is a big help from the principle, but then we also can't keep the front axle fixed Frick with that steering, so now it has come out of the car and now we have double wishbone suspension, so we can start considering the corners now, plus the car got into a massive diet and with the With the widespread use of aluminum, the car reduces around one hundred and seventy kg.
I mean, it's like throwing a baby elephant out of the car, suddenly this seems more and more interesting, but then of course AMG flavor had to be added to the car as well. so we no longer have the 7 speed, we now got the nine speed box from the latest AMGs and of course betraying the power behind the hood is the Panamericana grille, behind which the 5 engine is no longer located, 5 liters with its slow response. The hot V8 installed in the four-liter E63 engine produces 577 braking horsepower from zero to sixty in 4.5 seconds and 850 Newton meters of torque.
These are really impressive numbers if we go back to the original G 55 I had. 349 brakes and a zero to 60 of around seven seconds, this car still looks the same and this is as far as we've come. You even compare that zero to 60 to the 6.2 liter c63 that we all love in pine after it's the Same figure now of course I mentioned the Pan America on a grill and you could be forgiven for thinking that and the lights are what The only thing that has changed, but that is only at first glance when you look at this car and read the specifications about it. the whole body has changed, it's genuinely a brand new G so its width is the first thing that catches everyone's attention, it's increased three inches and it's a very, very noticeable three inches so you can really see the steps extended wheel, larger body. of the car a much more AMG stance thanks to the 22-inch wheels and wider tires, it has also increased its length by 2 inches, which means that inside we will have a more spacious cabin, which is great, the whole look The front part is very powerful.
I don't agree with the people who turn on the lights. I think they look absolutely fine. This is the classic G truck light shape. I think the front, the bottom is a little soft, looks better with the bull bars. They are not legal in the UK. and Europe unfortunately but I actually understand why it looks like that also because it is not trying to be like all the other AMGs of this current generation but rather it is trying to merge the G character and some of the modern AMG character into one and I will . We'll talk more about that later and I'll grade it for you, but I want to compare it to the tree above and just show you all the major panels of the car and then you'll start to realize that this has really changed in every discernible way.
It really is a completely new car. Now a very interesting part of the design is what I think Mercedes has a geometric shape for SUV design and it's like a rounded square. You'll see it replicated throughout this car. It appears to be the g. -wagen shape I love the back, it looks so nice and rounded. I love the lights that still look very g-wagen but very modern, but something I absolutely hate about the rear is that tow bar that is fixed and doesn't retract. not at all, I mean, when you've made so many changes to the car, why can't we have a retractable tow bar?
It's due to the spare wheel in the rear, which I'm very happy they kept because it's a feature of a G-wagen, isn't it in terms of design? This particular car is, of course, the edition, so it has red accents all around. wheels in the rearview mirror there's an AMG Motorsports Cripe on the side and a unique interior which we'll look at later and you get a magna knight black finish which is a glorious satin black. Interesting now, this is the first of the second generation, the g63. It is the only one that reaches the United Kingdom at the moment.
You also have the G 500 in the rest of the world, but I find it strange that this car comes with 577 brake when we know that the maximum tuning of this engine reaches at least six twelve or even more in the GT 63, which makes me think there is room for a G 63 s. Certainly, this is just the first tourer, the car is now more dynamic and can be made more dynamic, so I think it would be really interesting. With the Can name you make it even more dynamic now, of course the 65 series is dead, the v12 will no longer be made at Mercedes, but something even more powerful and perhaps much more useful is being considered.
You may remember the four-door GT concept where they previewed a system that linked EQ hybrid power to proper AMG power and a 73 series is supposedly comingfrom AMG that will combine those two four-liter v8 electric motors and EQ power and produce horsepower close to 800 brakes, which could be really interesting. Not so, we've taken a look at the exterior design and despite the changes in technology and the appearance of the car, the biggest and one of the best change in terms of design comes on the inside, so guys , the first thing you see about the G. The interior of the Wagen you need to understand is a part of the G character that was maintained by Mercedes AMG and that all the G customers, including me, loved, it was a small thing that was really important and it was this that could break the door and then when it is locked.
Again, there was a distinctive G-Class character when you close the car and it's that closing sound that captures the mechanical locks that have been maintained and the way the door closes and that was really important to us because it was always in the g-wagon, so it's great that it's been kept here, the consequence is no keyless entry etc. in this car, but in my opinion it's a pretty good trade-off, like I was saying, the interior of this car. It's really special and it's not just special because it's modern, it's special because for the first time for me you have a G-Wagen character inside the car, but I think for you to really appreciate this interior I want to compare it directly with the previous G63. , which is the salient now, so let's start with the main view first and you can see what a huge improvement this is, it has just taken the interior of the G to the next level, it is in line with the high end s class and looks absolutely gorgeous .
You will also notice inside the old G wagon the absolute worst part was the driver's area. Well, you didn't even have an AMG steering wheel. You got the standard style. Now you have the s63 style steering wheel, which is on all AMGs up to the GT 63 and then behind the de. Of course, you see the new driver's area with the twin 12-inch screens straight out of the S-Class, but it doesn't end there. I want you to pay attention to that geometric shape that I mentioned was the rounded square. because you will see it everywhere and it is the characteristic shape of the off-road anji wagon, so if I show you the door cards of the old car, both in the front and the rear, you will be able to see the enormous improvements while maintaining the classic structure of the door card from the original G Wagon, especially this particular grab handle here and the squareness at the top of the window sill here, so all that character has been kept while making it look absolutely fantastic.
You even look at how the Bur mr. speaker and my favorite, the door handle here, which almost looks like a G logo to me with that rounded square, has been redesigned and then ties into the beautiful carbon fiber on the side, the whole thing is just amazing, it's so beautifully done , then you will notice on the front of course that the classic G Wagen handle has been kept and that it has been here since the first G, even the center console, the sides look how sparse and boring the previous one was and now look how they've updated it on this one and I just want to show you some areas around the corner where you'll see the big difference compared to the previous car.
It is undeniable how much better this car is now inside and there are small details like the Burr Mr. speaker up here, now it looks like an interior that you will spend £150k on and feel like you spent your money well, but then a lot of people immediately complain, well this isn't G Wagon, it's too modern and I've ruined it etc. I guarantee you that none of those people have seen the original interior of the G Wagen, so let me show you what it looks like now, suddenly when you look at the structure of the old one, it has been exactly imitated in this modern one.
Especially from the center console area with the center console part, the part under the vents, the vent section itself is exactly the same shape as the original G, even look at the side vents on each side of the interior, They have the same round shape. as it is used from time to time of course you have the classic grab handle but it goes beyond that, the reason I said there is more G here than ever before, you look at the shape of the vents and you They will look familiar. because they are made in the same shape as the exterior headlights so now you have that look inside that is the G wag signature and no other Mercedes has them and then it doesn't stop there you look at the BIR mr. .
The tweeters at the top of the dash have the same shape and position as the car's exterior gauges, bringing back the exterior of the car. It has been done in such a clever way that only when you sit back and appreciate the original G above. And if you look at this one, do you realize how far Mercedes has taken the G character? I recently sat in the new G le as you saw on my ride from Paris back home transporting the car here and that interior was great but it was not up to the level of the interior of this G Wagen and that was never the case before You look at the old car and it wasn't a great place to sit, it now sits at the top as the most luxurious B&T interior that Mercedes has ever made and that's where the G Wagon should have always been.
A few other parts we should talk about as well, so you have the classic locking differential lock controls exactly where they've always been, so it's a good thing they've been kept. that here and they've kept that analogue but it still doesn't look modern, they no longer have the gear controls here and the handbrake that's been removed, it's now a very nice and simple design with the touchpad controller, I was disappointed to see that the old touchpad here would have I liked that I saw the flat touch one, which is really done very well and then you see my favorite button, the escape button, and we'll talk about that shortly.
I want you to listen to this car, then come here and see. We have the IWC clock like on the other top AMGs, which is absolutely key for me because I love the partnership between IWC and AMG. You'll notice that we have carbon on this particular car. This is, of course, the editing one. we said and this interior is specific to the Edition one so you get what they call red pepper and black carbon fiber and even though I wasn't a big fan of the wheels on the outside this interior sold it to me but one thing I did like a lot.
What disappointed me is that you could only get the steering wheel with what I call 220 stitching, which is the leather periphery. I don't know why they started doing that in the edits. This surely should have had a carbon fiber steering wheel with the dynamic ax with red pepper and black carbon fiber, but that would have made a lot of sense and then, while in most editions here they write edition with the AMG logo, They haven't even bothered to say that it's strange and it bothers me. because I don't like full leather steering wheels as you know and look, they have dynamism absolutely everywhere in the headline, it's gorgeous, it looks great, but this just lets it down now that I have this full screen command system in the G again, it's a huge big upgrade for G owners unless you upgrade the car.
Yes, it is still behind Class A. This is not ex MBU. Unfortunately, I'm sure it will come eventually. It would be great to have the Gles version. This is the most up to date one here but we don't have it right now but you have all the things we saw in the s63 review so I'm not going to go into this too much just to highlight some of the more interesting things these seats they are absolutely incredible, that's how much we are on the older ones, the bolsters are actually quite large, as you would expect from an AMG S Plus, you combine that with the dynamic seat option I have on this one where the seat moves while you drink A corner is an incredible experience and that means, of course, that we have seats with massage and lumbar.
You can configure all the side bolsters and have the seat exactly how you want it, which is really really cool, then of course my favorite part, you have all the ambient lighting options of 64 different colors, multi-color ambient lighting, so the I'll turn it on now Andy, you'll see that change to the red moon in terms of the AM genre of this Now, if that's even a word, now, of course, you have the dynamic selection option, so you'll go in there and you'll have everything you have on the e63. You can set I mode where you can set Drive transmission. suspend the exhaust flaps open or closed and ESP and save it while you set up and of course in terms of the AMG options we also have the full driving modes so it goes from the newest one which is slippery which of course , it is important in the g up to Comfort Sport individual and Sport Plus, but there is no race mode in this one and again it makes me think that there is room here for the G 63 s model and of course the driver's area, which is the part most important so far.
As far as I'm concerned it's brilliant because you now have a really good seating position, where you're lower than the other G Wagon, but you're still up high, as you'd expect, for power and you've got more seats. comfortable and of course you have the new steering wheel with the touch button so the left one controls the left screen and the right one controls the right one and since this is digital we have a variety of screens now we have the classic sports car like you would have in the normal cars and Sadie and progressive, which is quite similar to the support.
My favorite is the sports one because it is very AMG specific. The other part, which is not new for G, but is quite important, now you get Apple CarPlay once you connect your iPhone so that Of course, now in the Apple Carplay update it gives you access to Google Maps and ways or cables or like it's called, which changes the rules of the game because before for me Apple Carplay was a gimmick that wasn't really useful, but I don't usually trust it. car navigation and I prefer to use those apps and now you can get them on the screen here which makes it something that we will really miss in cars that don't have car play in my opinion now in the back seat passengers rear that they are used to make a win, I will be very happy because it is a trend that transformed the interior in the rear in terms of comfort, now the seats lean a little more back, you have a lot more space, but mainly it is about the comfort when you're actually sitting here, you can actually sit in the back and enjoy the ride instead of being thrown around like you're in the old G Wagon.
It was a really unpleasant experience again, someone who buys this will probably have family or friends and Before it was not a pleasant experience for them to sit here, now it's really nice inside but as with all performance cars you know what's coming , now it's time to look at the sound, but before I show you the sound of the car I want to show. You know what the old G Wagon sounded like now, that wasn't anything impressive in terms of sound to me, it sounded more like a treatise and that's what I always say about the gen.
You'll hear it a lot in this review, but this car is different unlike the previous one, which didn't have overpowering pops or explosions or any kind of interesting sound profile. This one actually sounds pretty good, so let's get into the sports now. Also, now it still has some of that G character but it sounds louder and more exciting, so I'm going to launch it now comfortably with the flaps open and to give you some revs now, that sounds pretty normal, if anything, it sounds a bit like the previous one, but when you do it. We turned it into Sport Plus, as you can see, it's got a bit of that old G Wagen, but mixed with a lot of the new AMG sound, it's got overtakes, little pops and explosions, so I feel like Eames has taken that modern.
The AMG sound mixed it with what the previous G had and now there is this unique symphony of the G Wagen, but we will have to see if it is the same down the road. I know the answer, but I really want you to hear it yourselves. but as you can hear, it's not as loud as you might be used to in the cars we've recently reviewed in modern AMGs and I want to remind you what they sound like and for that I want to call the AMG Hulk. Now I can't wait to show you what this next generation of AMG designed G-wagen is like on the road, so to appreciate the new G, I have to tell you how abysmal this old one was and it can be summed up pretty well by Just the steering, where you have to lock and lock and lock and lock and then finally the car spins and then you have this huge dead zone in the middle where you're not sure where the wheels are aware that the front is. running and when the car is hooked up to an engine it had almost 600 horsepower assist, that's not really great so you have to plan your direction and it only gets worse when you increase speed because it's obviously not a variable RAC so It gets worse the faster you go, oh boy, so you have to plan your direction in this car and then it doesn't end there because the slow response of this 5.5 liter in thiscar in particular was enough for you to go and do. a cup of tea, I mean I could literally step on nothing and then three seconds later the car wakes up and look how much luck I have to give it, then there's the dead zone so you have to plan your direction and you have to plan your acceleration, then put about a week in advance to make sure the car gains speed or you want to make sure it doesn't gain too much speed at the wrong time but it doesn't because all the other brakes don't work very well either so you have to plan your direction , plan your acceleration and plan your braking in a car that weighs more than tons of twist and almost 600 brakes, sounds tired and is absolutely tired and then it's not like you. get the benefit of an AMG sound, or the car just sounds like a tractor, it doesn't have the same v8 noise that the other 5.5 liters of this era had, so what does Ames benefit from, you don't get sound?
You don't get any driving experience, well you get a badge on the back and a body kit, the only thing that really saved it was the fact that it was a G Wagon and a classic, but that's not enough, not for the most of us, so like I said, the G had to change and thank God it did. I often say that it only takes a few hundred yards to know if you like a new car and the way it handles and I would say it's even less with the new G when Someone has asked me why I think of the car in terms of its management.
I've always said one thing: it does this amazing thing where you turn the wheel and the car turns too. I mean, hallelujah, this is a revolutionary in the dream and then Listen to the sound, let's get to it, but if you tried to imitate the old movements of the previous g-wagen, I guarantee you that you will do 180 ah. Thank you very much AMG for fixing the problem. When driving you have simply transformed the car completely. There is no longer a need to keep your winning will completely up to date before you consider going out for a drive.
It now has real information about where the wheels are and is speed sensitive. When I go faster, the steering becomes stiff, but when we do slower maneuvers in the city or in smaller corners, it is a little lighter and gives you that flexibility. Basically what I'm trying to say is that a small input will give you a small output. I know it sounds very basic, but it's a great luxury for anyone who has driven the G-wagen before. I feel like we can drive a little faster. I actually have confidence in a DUI gun for the first time, so let's move on with this car. a little bit now it's really interesting that the new steering rack, which is the double wishbone suspension, has given it such a fun feel.
Drive not only the already well-known Cour record when seeing a curve. I dare say you actually thank him too. Look how this 2 meter tall car can handle like this. This is my first time driving the G-wagen and I felt like yes, AMG had a big hand in the dynamics before I dared to say lipstick on a pig. Don't get me wrong, it's not a GL c63 or a Lamborghini Urist, the last cars we tested here, but it gives you driving pleasure as well as being able to tackle mountains, that's the magic of this new G and then the side bolsters hug you.
Just like the s63, it's a brilliant combination, overall, un with real driving pleasure, you're no longer afraid to drive it fast, you think of hell. I want to care about going down some A and B roads and that's revolutionary in the G class, I can't emphasize it. that's enough to have driving pleasure and speaking of pleasure, I think we have to talk about the sound, this feeling of that animal, this is in Sport+, the valves are open and it just sounds like a proper AMG, now that's gone horrible tractor noise, this has more. which a hint of what we had in the s63 in the e63, so of course they are not surprising given the tear of the engine, but it also has its own sound, it does not explode or hit the top end of the e63 or the DLC 63 like you saw in those videos, but I don't know, it actually reminds me a little bit of the way the sound profile of the old G Wagen is, but it sounds like a name, both, it's absolutely addictive and wow.
This is fast now and you probably could have made it sound exactly like the GLC 63 or e 63, but I think they consciously haven't done that. I think it's that idea I was talking about before or merging the G character with an mg character. and create what is a unique sound profile for a unique car, this does not sound or drive the driveline in the other car, in fact it sounds like every other car in the mg line and then accelerate all the way, this increases the speed. it's nothing like the car we saw earlier, you saw the delay on the 5.5 or rather you probably heard the delay, it's not like that, this is the hot V configured like this 63 like the AMG GT, the same engine produces 577 and when you request Power in this car is available right away, it's so addictive to gain speed in this car and that's why I'm struggling to get double digits in the mpg because all you want to do is put your foot down all the time.
I just figured out. How this six foot tall car can gain speed the way it does is truly magical, how fun it is and you would never have considered doing that in the previous G because of that dead zone in the steering, because the lag would have been too long. and you would have started next week, but then of course when you brake, you would have wanted to have braked well at the end, and this car works perfectly, so suddenly those three factors that hindered any kind of performance when driving the previous car, now there is something you want. to dive in and want to experiment in this car, it's a whole new level, it's an AMG level, something from Norman, but if we now get it comfortable again with the exhaust on or else guys, then it's just a Mercedes Benz quiet and luxurious with a Bonito v8 Rumble, when you order it you will also notice something you would never do in the previous G, which is to drive the car with one hand because that's how good the steering is, then you have smaller maneuvers, like parking inside and out of the city. etc, everything can be done very easily in this car, it has a better turning radius, it has a 360 degree camera which is an absolute blessing in a car of this size and width.
Could we have that in the AMG GT family? Please, Mercedes AMG, please. get really good and you can go miles and miles and miles on this thing and you almost start to believe you're in the s63 until you look at those miles per gallon which I'm NOT going to do and then you come back to reality and Yes you are absolutely in a G Wagon. I just want to drive it in a way that the car doesn't save on fuel consumption. Great, the G-wagen finally has a real sequel. It is no longer a firefighting of the past, but something completely new. model and has been built by AMG to have driving dynamics that are genuinely fun and has such a strong G character that perhaps Noah that G has had before.
I think it's the most G G Wagen, especially when it comes to that iconic design that's no longer refined. It looks skinny on the road thanks to the increased width and now the interior imitates not only the first G truck that imitates the exterior, it is already a legendary off-roader, apparently the off-road capability has been further improved in this car, hopefully we will get it. to try that in a more exciting way one day you really frustrate me, modern AMG, can't you go wrong for once in a car you have in your hands? I was happily pointing out the G as the black sheep of the AMG family. the one that says yes, drives, sounds and feels like shit, but now you've taken it and turned it into a proper AMG with G character.
Guess I'll have to turn to the SL and SLC to choose from. but if the rumors are to be believed, you guys have your paws on Mercedes, as does this car, and development has begun on AMG-based versions of those cars, so given the success of this project, all of us will be I'm waiting with great anticipation to see what they do with it, so I hope you enjoyed this review of what is the true G Wagen sequel. I had a great time, finally Ames, you delivered to me. I really like this car, but having bought it rather than outright, it's a car that you guys should absolutely drive if you get the chance because, unlike a lot of cars we drive and test drive these days, where there are only ten or twenty percent different from each other, you know you will drive a svr and a GL e63 or you will drive an m3 in a c63 and there are certain differences, the g-wagen is totally different from everything in the way it drives, in the way it sounds and the way he looks and the way he goes about all his business and that's what makes him a real winner now so guys if you always do this please like and subscribe no force me to use my Jedi mind trick and like I always do.
I'm going to try to get to single digit mpg with this car now, so I'll see you next time.
