Motochimp | Fully Charged

Feb 27, 2020
tomorrow live to ride right to live now this is a very unusual episode

fully

loaded because as you can see I'm not driving a car we're on two wheels we're riding a motorcycle this is called moto chim this is something that attracts me enormously. I'm on private property and that's why I'm not wearing a helmet. I am a Williams, the Formula 1 team and the engineering works because there is a connection between this bike and Williams, believe it or not, I will explain it later. I'm really excited because I've wanted to put this together for a long time.

AB always has a bit of a fetish for small motorcycles, but specifically those that fit in the trunk of cars and then you can ride them somewhere and then you can just reach into the trunk, grab a motorcycle and go on another trip. and that's where this becomes important. This is a small motorcycle made by a company in Singapore called Van der Electrics, which historically makes BMS, battery management systems and I think control. systems, but they just expanded into the motorcycle world and also the automotive world, it's something that's really fun and what I love about it and the reason we all agreed that it should be

fully

loaded because it has charisma, it's a vehicle that has something that has a daring charm doesn't take itself too seriously and that's what van der electrics wanted they wanted to create a zero emissions urban motorcycle that you could fit in your apartment, that you could put in the trunk of your car.

More Interesting Facts About,

motochimp fully charged...

I could probably take it on a train, but it has some really cool features that I'll start going over. It's impossible not to be impressed just because it's so much fun, but the thing about the engine jump is that it actually has a lot of substance. It is a stainless steel and aluminum frame. It looks like a travel toothbrush or something. It's very strange. In the back, you twist and take out the battery pack, so here's the lithium. ion battery pack and then you have the controller and the BMS, all the gubbins live here, this is the key, you run it over that red dot there and it makes the bike turn on, you can have more than one of these, so that's your key, it's just a twist and look, it's an automatic transmission that spins, you've got disc brakes here that look like this, they come off a mountain bike, solid wheels, it's an electric motor in the hub in these lights 48 volt 350 watt LEDs of course. you've got four little switches right there on the bars here, can you see one of them is a horn?

One of them is the headlight, then the left indicator, the right indicator, press it again to cancel it. Alright, look at these beautiful ones and there. Can you see this little reading? This is the light to indicate the battery charge level. I think I'm half loaded and then this is a digital speedometer when you're going km/h, a handlebar right now and It could be an What they consider will be to break the bars with quick release or some other method that makes it even better. because then it will go from being a meter high to about half a meter high, this is a meter long, it's about 60 centimeters wide, including that, I guess including the bars, so it's not a very big thing, they estimate that production ones will probably be approx.

It weighs between 35 and 40 kilos, this one is more, but I could still thank you. I can still put this in the trunk of the car and if you come this way, Lynne, this is the name of the nine-year-old girl I drew. this bike and that's what inspired the creation of the moto chip, you have the air, a beautiful retro style LED, like it has a lot of chrome, that's why I like its chrome, it's two tone and down here it's not too technological , you just release it. this has a three prong plug so you can plug it in in an hour it's fully

charged

it will go about forty miles on a single charge and they say the production version here will have a phone charger so plug your phone in before you drive you hit your seat , you go right and this loads when you get to your destination which is great, there's not much to this bike and that's what I love.
All the complexities are hidden. Look at the script. Beautiful retro style script. It will come in three colors, blue, yellow and this red. The best thing about the pegs is that they are rear facing, so for tall people with long limbs like me, instead of sitting like that with frog legs and your needs sticking out, it's actually very ergonomic because you can sit up straighter with the pegs. Feet sliding back, which is uncomfortable, which is ridiculous given how small it is, it does 20 miles per hour, which doesn't sound like much, but it's enough for a small city machine like this.
I really think Honda from Mister tricker disc is 2011. They made an Eevee version of their classic folding bike called Moto compo that they originally came out in the early 80's and they came out with this concept in 2011 and I thought: you have to build that bike and they never did it and I think this is where Vanda Electronics was inspired by the Honda Compo motorcycle and they are going to build it. This is coming out this year in 2017 in England, probably 2018, what a great little one. Although it is a bit like the bastard child of a tube of toothpaste and a piece of Lego and those pairs of children's sweets that you always get in French exchanges.
I don't even know if you can get them in England. They were called Pez the story. that kind of fancy little folding moped from the world war era, 1930s, something called the Brockhaus Corgi. I need to leave these Corgi parabikes for the troops in Kent and to use on the front line and then fast forward to the 60s. and it was all about Honda and the monkey bike, the ct100 and the Zed 50 with the folding bars and the seat that collapsed and then he got an electric motorcycle in the 70s that came out in the United States called the Oran thetic charger that worked with two car batteries.
I think they were 24 volts, something very basic but great. I bought one on eBay and it was completely ruined. They never sent it to me. I'm not bitter about it, but this is much better than the sum total of its parts. and if they release this for around £13 to £1500 that's amazing, they quote the chimpanzee Moto as saying he brought enchantment back to personal travel and who am I to argue with that because there's something about singing about it and the gods don't understand it altogether? because you do, there's a building with mirrors and I'm looking at myself and it's ridiculous, but it's also really fun for me.
This is going to do what the Fiat 500 has done in the small car world, it just makes it look really stylish, infinitely customizable. So yes, the Moto chip will go into production, there may be different trim levels, the most affordable basic one might have a traditional key to turn it on, so I guess you can use this. I would have thought of the equivalent of an old car license like mine. allowing you to mount up to 50 CCS. I'm actually quite enjoying it even though it's about to freeze because on a very gray winter's day in Oxfordshire this adds some real color and charisma.
I'm not going to do either of those two things. I'm just hoping people don't take you seriously when you have an electric motor tube, but I think it's so relaxing that you don't have to put earplugs in, you can collect your thoughts a little more, of course, it's just spinning. And wow, there's no gearbox. I first saw this moto chimpanzee or photos of it in November 2016 at the Chen Zhen design fair in China, which is where it was revealed to the world and I fell in love. I thought he was absolutely crazy and brilliant. Wonderful idea, useful though really helpful.
I could see myself driving to London in my Eevee parking lot right outside and then riding this one why not? 40 miles is amazing and you know, when you walk into a coffee shop and you get their best plug. charge your phone on the go while you drink I wonder if I could get away with taking this to a shop acceleration isn't what your class is blistering I get the impression they've had to tone down the performance of the moto chip probably because tax reasons or it could be so people can use it with a car licence, but if it actually goes on sale in Britain for around thirteen hundred quid, it's fantastic actually, it'll be a bit of a Dougie Lampkin.
I know it's really something quite addictive this bike. I knew it would be a designer piece. I just think she's wonderful. It really looks like a 60's coffee machine with a screw-on wheel. It is also a prime territory for customization. You can imagine something different. designs different paint jobs different bars different wheels different wheels look I would love I would love a seat with an embroidered mermaid or something, you know, helicopter handlebars, yeah anyway, bye, imagine one of these in the trunk of your car electric, just be very good or just ideal for the back of a motorhome, it even has that 60s style, that retro style that would probably fit perfectly with a VW motorhome or an old British motorhome.
Watch those guys bend push bikes like Bronson's and stuff. This is that kind of style. I could really see that this is kind of a front and equivalent to the motorcycle world. Not bad. You plug it into a regular three-prong wall socket and an hour later it's fully

charged

and you're good to go. to do 40 miles, that's a lot of miles on a little tiddler like this, a lot of miles, this is the Williams advanced engineering center so that's Williams f1 and that's where they do all sorts of things like building the battery for the form, it's also the place where The company that makes this is making their next project that has four wheels and looks a little less retro than this one.
I'm going to go take a look at it.
