I purchased a coupler separately, this is a three and a half inch to three inch coupler. My tube is a three inch tube, but the 80 millimeter throttle body needs a three and a half inch opening, so get one of those. I'll leave a link below. the description of that as well as the throttle body they also provide the connector cables that you will need and they provide all the hardware screws and everything as well as a new gasket so that's pretty cool they give you everything pretty much um that's it all. go ahead open this hood here we have the engine here so if you remember my last video on installing the kn air filter what you're going to have to do is take it off it just pops up oh funny performance it just pops right up.

Set that aside and then this screw. Remember that you will need a T27 torx screw to remove it, so we have one of these already prepared here. Place your T27 there. Oh, this die? I'm a rolling idiot. a mistake, take it out, take the screw out, put it aside somewhere, let's leave this financially and then open it back up and it comes right out, so this is the original throttle body that we're going to remove right here, um, it's still ago pretty hot, but we're going to go ahead and remove it so what you're going to want to do first is remove the cold air from your driveway if you have one or even if you have to stop and You'll need to remove it if you come around here and take a look at this, we're going to take off the throttle sensor here and there's a little retaining clip on the back that holds it on as well, but you're I'm going to take this off, so first I'm going to go ahead and take this off.

Remember again from my last video, these clamps are 5 16. So let me go ahead and you don't need to remove them completely, just loosen them. up so you can remove it, okay, it's pretty loose, come back to this side, okay, once you release them, we'll go ahead and remove the air temperature sensor again just to be safe, open that clip and it comes out. just sit in there, go ahead and loosen that, take it off like take it, but now you want to get it all out okay, don't take this old coupler out, but you want to take it out, I took that off, I'm going to keep it. that, but we don't need this because like I said, we have three and a half inches because this is a three inch and three inches, so we have three and a half to three inches next, as you can see, as you can see, um .

It's not that dirty. I saw a lot of people say they had, you know, oil because one thing I want to get. I'm going to get one. Oh my god, I'm going blank. May I want to get one? of those for these, so it's coming very soon, but next, if you come back here like I said, I'll show you how to remove this. All you have to do is press this little red tab, make sure it's disengaged, and pull. like this and then this little retaining clip that you literally pull, it just comes off, just set it aside for now, I'll set it aside for now so it's completely out of the way, um, it's got a little bit of an extension because I can't get the head of this below, this is a 5 16, so go ahead, remove them here, come over here, let me show you guys, there are four bolts that you are going to remove, one right here, here's another one. down here you probably won't be able to see it, but there's another one, there's four.
If you go down there, you'll see, just remove these, that's one here and the other one. I really wish I had an electric ratchet, but whatever. no oh it's right there I can see it guys okay get down there that's why I'm glad I have this giant opening get down on it and again like I said I didn't watch a lot of videos especially for the

jeep

grand

cherokee

. These 20 20

limited

outings, so I honestly feel like I'm doing a service to anyone who has this truck with this design and layout. It is similar to others apart from Pixar V6, but at the same time it is a different type. design so I wanted to make this video for anyone who has a

jeep

specifically with the 3.6 with this specific design in case you're wondering how do you get the old throttle body in there put these to the side come and Take a look at this, compare it to the other one and clearly this one is bigger, if I'm not mistaken this one is 73 points and something millimeter and this one is 80.
It actually says it, no, no, but yes, this is bigger than you. They can actually fit inside each other, so okay, this is going to be a lot better, so we can put this aside with the old coupler. Put it aside for now, if you come here and take a look at this inside, take some. microfiber towel, wipe it down a little bit, wipe there if it's dirty, if not don't worry, but there is a rubber seal that doesn't actually come off sometimes, like when you take the old throttle body off, it comes off and you just put it on. you take it and put it back in there it's not necessary as we're just not going to come out so that's fine but make sure you don't lose it make sure you have it there so now grab our four screws there are four different types you have some bolts that go on the actual throttle body this is what goes on the adapter which is what we're doing now so we're going to take these four and we're going to mount them there now I'm going To show you this in case you don't know if you come up here and notice there are three holes on this side, three holes over here and two and two, um, this hole, these third holes on this side for our jeep

grand

cherokee

s right here. there are two little notches these two notches will go into those third holes and that's actually an easy way to align it correctly if you can't look at the eye to see if it's aligned correctly if you put these in, you line these up with those notches and place them like this , this is lined up correctly, you're done, so these are regular Phillips head screws.
I like to use a small hand drill. You're going to put them in the middle hole, the bigger you drill the bigger openings that's where it's going to go well that's there pretty good we have it there next we're going to come here and get our cosmic gasket that they provide us is this this is the gasket that they provide us They will line up like this with the four holes, so now once we have that, let me show you this real quick. This is a screw that they will use to mount the throttle body to the adapter.
It's coming too. with some small washers now when you do it there is a smooth side and a rough side this flat side needs to be facing up because you want it to be flush with the throttle body so when you do it install it like this put the smooth side backward. Then the flat, rough side settles. What I found for these heads on these screws is that you can use a 3 16 Allen wrench or you can use a C30 bit uh, you can use either or but, then I can use the electronic electric drill uh. I'm going to use a c30.
I think I place the body on our joint here so that it looks like this on this side. If you want to align your joint, yes, perfect, you can go ahead and start now. through and these big screws go into this hole here the hole you didn't use obviously so ah ah ah okay and that's there it's tight good fit looks absolutely great I love the finish of this adapter so it's good now that we have that, we can go ahead and start putting everything back together like I said, we're going to use this three inch and three and a half inch coupler for the pipe, in fact, we'll go ahead and put this on.
On the throttle body it will be tight first, so take your time, don't get frustrated, sit on the side for now, make sure you put it in there and seat it fully if you loosen it as much as possible. It'll be easier, so keep that in mind once it's tight, put this other bracket in there, take the body of the tube, actually, line it up again on this one down here and then kind of shoehorn it into this one here, go in here first. In fact, what I'm going to do is a little difficult, take your time when you do this because it's a little difficult, especially now that you've got it there, so now line this up with the eyelets, so make sure you put it back, come back to place everything, so now we can put it back.
There's a Phillips line that goes back, just tighten it, so okay, so everything closes after you do that. I will return. oh, now it's connector time. You will take the connector provided by the product. I'm going to take this end and hook it onto the actual throttle body, so snap it in and then lock it in place. Take this and hold it. you can wrap it however you want and you can hold that part there like so and then push that little red tab down now when you do that there's no support on this throttle body like there was on the original because this is just everything has a tab to hold wires out of place, there is nothing, there is no other support on the new one, so you will have to sit down once you have it, take the air temperature sensor, plug it back in, lock it in place and you're done. everything is back there, let's go ahead and start the car now.
One tip a friend of mine told me is that a lot of people had questions about whether or not to remap the throttle body. I never got a definitive answer, so I don't do it. I don't know if you do it or have it or it doesn't matter, but what someone told me I can do is that if you cut the car off, put it in drive and then slowly press the accelerator down three times, everything is working, there you go. Guys, the throttle body is installed, everything is plugged back into place, everything is attached correctly and this is how it goes in there, so now we can go ahead and start cleaning this out and put everything back in place, grab our cover, go back to place it on the bolt. so put it back there and there you have it folks, it's a successful installation in my book.
If you have any questions or concerns, leave a comment and let me know and I'll get back to you like I said. I feel like I'm doing a service to anyone who has a grand cherokee, I would say 2016 to

2020

g, especially with this specific configuration because like I said on youtube, I couldn't find anything like it anywhere else, no, no, reddit, nothing, you already know. I saw some pictures, but as far as an actual installation, I didn't see anything, so I feel like anyone who wants to get this product and just wants to know how to put it in there correctly and wants to do it themselves.
I think this will be of great help. That said, if this is your first time watching my channel, I want to thank you all and welcome to the channel. You appreciate it very much. I love them.
