MIXING ALL MY SETTING POWDERS TOGETHER

Feb 27, 2020
Hello James Charles sisters and welcome back to my YouTube channel in case you notice everything, they might look a little different right now. I changed my setup and lighting slightly. I made the lights a lot less bright and added a lot more diffusion. So now I hope I can open my eyes and not blink and close them every 3 seconds. In the camera. I have so many comments about it. I know it's annoying. You have no idea how much damn light was around me in my previous videos. So I hope you like it a lot more, but let me know a sister is working on it.

Anyway, today I have something very, very fun planned and I am very excited to try it. I've been watching a lot of YouTubers lately making videos testing and

mixing

their different products. I saw Sophia Nygaard trying to first mix her foundation and then she tried

mixing

her liquid lipsticks to get an original color, so for today's video I'm trying something a little different and I'm going to mix all my

setting

powders

if you guys have been sisters since a long time ago, you know that

setting

powder is a bit of a touchy subject for me when I started wearing makeup.

More Interesting Facts About,

mixing all my setting powders together...

I use Coty air spun powder religiously. And we all know how it turned out, so this one came slowly. Outside of my routine I now use Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in almost every video. But I have tried many different

powders

in between. Some of them are meant to mattify, some are meant to brighten, some prevent wrinkles, but generally the purpose of them is to set the face in place. Today I'm going to mix all my setting powders. They have my favorites and the ones that have given me some problems in the past in this empty setting powder container in my collection.

We're going to mix them all

together

and then we're going to put my face in place, that actually hurts a little bit. I'm really not sure how this will turn out. Just in my first thoughts, I assume it will probably be ridiculously dry like the Sahara desert level I have. my setting spray in case everything gets too serious Or my face is like it's splitting because it won't be a big surprise But who knows, I also feel like I'm probably going to have a pretty bad flashback. today I hope Mary doesn't play again. I have to wear this makeup to an event later tonight, but I'll take them with me to show you in full.

I will also take many photos. So I hope none of them turn out that bad. Anyway, all that being said, if you want to see all my setting powders mixed

together

, put them to the test. Well, it will work. If it fails, it will flash. as if Mary makes an iconic appearance, she keeps watching. So before I start my foundation today, my first step will be to apply the water touch cream, which is my all time cream? favorite moisturizer like i was talking about, obviously the goal of a setting powder is to dry your foundation and set everything in place.
And I definitely don't want to be in the Sahara desert today. My skin is starting to lighten a little, so I'm trying to protect it, so I need to be very, very hydrated before I suck up all the moisture for foundations today. I'm going to grab my all-time favorite, my Make Up For Ever Ultra HD makeup stick, and this one is in the shade Y 335. I'm using a stick shade that's a little darker than my normal shade. I have a bad feeling. I'm going to have a really bad flashback today, so I'm trying to combat that as much as possible.
Then I'll just add a few drops of the Giorgio Armani luminous foundation and use this to blend that foundation. This is a very, very moist base and once again. We are trying to add as much moisture as possible. Then just a flash and quickly. I'm going to use my shaping tape concealer on the shadow light stand as usual. So now that we have my foundation and concealer in place, let's go ahead and Blend all of these setting powders together. I have an empty tub here that is ready for this mixture. The first part I want to add is my all-time favorite, which is my Laura Mercier.
I've got a little bit on the top of the jar here, so I'm just going to pour that in and then give it a little touch. Just make sure we have enough. Next, I'll add Too Faced's Perfect Peach Setting Powder, which is a mouthful. This one literally smells so good and actually smells like real peaches. I love this one too. The only thing is that it is a little orange. But that can help combat dark circles, especially under the eyes and in the beard area. So this could be a good addition. I'm just going to cover up some of that dust.
Next is to add some of the beauty bakery flower setting powder. I've never actually tried this one, but I've heard amazing things about it. So I hope it's just as good for me. Then come the powders that I don't like as much, that don't feel good on my skin, or that gave me a flashback. First I'm going to pour in some RCMA No color powder. I didn't really like this one as it stuck to my skin quite badly. Oh my goodness, and he also made too much clear, so who's going to be next in pie? Gentle Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder?
Next up will be one of my least favorite setting powders of all time, which is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Setting Powder. Listen... I love makeup forever. They are an incredible team. They have many amazing products. I use their foundation in every look, but this prototype is not good at all. I know it gives him very, very bad memories, so I'll probably have to stay away. Snapchat tonight. I'm going to pour a little bit of this here. And last but not least, we all know *cough* hmmm. If we do it. That's enough, so today we have all seven setting powders mixed together.
I'm really, really scared about this, but I'm going to put the cap back on and let's shake it up! Shake shake shake. Oh, shake it, shake it, shake it. Shake your dust. Shake your powder. I need to stop, so looking at the powder in the bottle it definitely looks like a normal setting powder, although it does look a little clumpy. I'm really not sure if it's because I just shook it. Is it to mix them OR if it is because foreign laws indicate that the powder is not mixed. Hopefully it's not option number two, but I guess we'll find out in a second.
Plus, the color also looks pretty normal. But I will say that it looks a little more orange than normal, the Cody's are a little powdery and the peach double sided powder are both slightly orange, a peachy tone. And I hope that doesn't affect my color tone, they may look like an oompa loommpa. Then I'm going to go straight to my beauty sponge, dip right into this powder and set my face. That's really matte. Oh. So of course you guys would like to pack it in your nose to li- *dies* I need water, oh my god. I think I'd really like to put it on the nose.
That's what makes my face oily faster. It feels like a normal setting powder to apply. But I'm not kidding when I say I can literally like it. I taste the peach in my mouth. I don't know if they put too much peach powder or if it's really that strong. But I like that setting powder anyway. So I hope it's working in my favor. Things are definitely getting a little peachy here at the brother studio so I take a closer look at my skin in the mirror. I look very very matte. There is not a single trace of oh oh my God.
Okay, don't I just look matte? But I also feel mate, holy shit. Looking closer with your nose wherever. There are two points right here with the base. It's a little worn, there were two small flecks of setting powder that didn't go away, and I guess it's because of the RCMA powder because I remember that happening a lot when I use this powder and I like to stick it to my foundation and when I rub it in now I get a little bit left. of discoloration right here. So I hope I can fix that when it comes to the nose contour later.
I knew I didn't like this powder before I did my face. I'm going to go in and contour and tan my face normally using my Kat Von D Shade and Light palette and my Hoola Benefit bronzer as usual once. Come on, of course we have to bake our face. So I'm going to take my mixing sponge one more time for morphe and I'm going to dip it into our custom powdered concoction up here and we're going to turn the oven on to 350 degrees. and bake it The goal of baking is not only to prevent wrinkles, but also to brighten and add definition to the makeup, so with the addition of the forever makeup setting powder, which has a lot of shine and a lot of luminosity, and also the RCM is a powder What color is white?
Hopefully this will do a great job with that and not make me look unpleasant. While we're baking at 350 degrees in the oven, I'm going to go ahead and quickly do my eyebrows off camera just to save some time. Alright, my brows are in place, it's been about 20 minutes, so let's go ahead and clean up the bake and see how this powder actually held up *shudder* so far, so good. Everything is still really Merritt and in its place. And it looks a little bit brighter if you see under this outline. But I feel like the real test is definitely the nose contour, so let's delete that too.
It's obvious, I mean to me. It looks like my normal nose contour. I mean, I told you I lost my nose contour brush, so things in that department in general have been a little weird. But overall it looks really good. It didn't stick to my skin at all, which is the thing. That worried me a lot. Everything looks great, shiny side plate so far. In fact, I have no complaints. I'm going to lightly spritz my face with the Scandinavian Makeup Finishing Spray. Just to make all the dust melt because Lord knows we have a lot of it right now.
I'm going to go ahead and make the eyes and the rest of my face off camera. And then I'll come back with the finished look, then we'll put the setting powder concoction to the test and see. Are seven mixed powders approved, sister? We'll have to find out. Alright guys, just a few hours later. This is the final look I came up with today. I came up with this half-baked purple crease and also added a winged liner. I haven't done a purple color or a wing in a long time. and I honestly felt like something was missing in my life.
I needed that purple smokiness that cut through the winged eyeliner. And I'm in love with this look, in case you're wondering, I put it together using the new morphe 15 and palette This is Dean bytes than our holiday collection palette, and it's so stunning, friendly reminder. You can use the code change or a 10% discount on all morphe products from the Christmas collection. I would definitely recommend this, so check out my face in the mirror. I am very very matte, there was no question about that literally dewy skin, I had never heard of it. I literally have no glow anywhere on my face, except obviously where I put the highlighter.
But I feel like even my highlighter today doesn't shine as bright as usual. Because we applied it with so much powder beforehand, I don't think my face really feels confident like I said before. It even feels matte, like it's super super dry, so I honestly feel like this could last a really long time, but I literally have no idea that we're going to put that to the test, so I'm going to go change this outfit. A little dusty if I do. I say it myself. I'm going to wear a hat and a jacket because I have a birthday dinner tonight in Malibu to celebrate sister Patrick Star's birthday.
I love him so much and we will wear this makeup all the time. night will flash oh my gosh, before I go, let me do a flash test right now before I leave the studio. That's your test. It wasn't a flashback, I'm not even going to lie. I'm a little surprised right now. One hundred and fifty percent I thought we were going to do it. Have a flash situation like Mary's tonight. She was really ready to take a lot of snapshots. How did the internet go crazy once again just to use it as a video promo for this video?
But this is not a bad thing. That said, even if it isn't. flashbacks now and there may be flashbacks later as the dust wears off and we make it wrinkle, so I think before I get sidetracked, I'm going to quickly get dressed for tonight's event, and head out and make sure to keep you informed throughout all night with lots of updates with my sisters and friends. Will this mix of the seven most popular setting powders still look amazing like it does now? Or will it become crazy, crusty, disgusting and doughy? You'll have to find out, well sisters, we are here in Nobu.
I have sisters Karen, Crispy and Sydney. I'll ask you all individually: What do you think about my skin right now? Destroyed skin, let's build a little more matte than usual full coverage very matte personally, I love it Okay Powdery us here with sister Yoli shines the one that makes my skin all the time Yoli What do you think my skin likes right now ? it seems that? I approve So this is a powder that emphasizes texture, you guys do an amazing job because it really emphasizes everything. Oh, and you don't put on makeup, how bad it will look at the end of the night.
Guys, I'm with the woman of the hour, sis, sorry, I have a question for you. Well. What do you think of my skin right now? She is in full coverage. She is bad. I like her. She looks good. Yes, but it's a good thing I mixed all the setting powders I have and used them to set my face today. She ain't my bitch atdust. Oh no. I need you to read it, it was yes, foxes, December 4th, even ah, master, wobble, honey. Thank you. Thanks babe. Hello sisters and back home after the birthday event which was literally so much fun.
I'm still reading right now because it was literally freezing outside. I'm actually really happy that it's finally getting cold in Los Angeles. I thought it was going to be summer all year round. round, but winter is coming and it is currently 11:47 p.m. m.. Which means I've had this makeup on for just over seven hours. Now, which is crazy because guys, this looks so good that I didn't touch it up even once tonight. This is the first time since I started wearing makeup and going to events that I didn't bring a beauty blender to even do some touch-ups. or powder my face and this still looks So bomb, I can't believe how crazy I seem to like it.
There is literally no oil at all like not even in my nose, and you know it. So, Mr. James, your nose is often a trouble spot. Everyone I invited to see my skin tonight said it looked very, very smooth, really, really good, really, full coverage and really mapped out. I mean, obviously we mixed 7 powders to set my face today. I hate to say it because, honestly, I really thought this was going to be a complete joke, but as you saw, none of them had flashbacks, my skin looks smooth. It still looks smooth. It's still dry, they're not kids yet.
I think I just found my new favorite makeup trick. Obviously this is my first time mixing setting powders, but after trying this trick, I honestly think I'll make it a custom blend to use for everyday use. I'll probably end up mixing my Laura Mercier My Too Faced Perfect Peach and then some Cody powder err because these are my all-time favorites. I don't know about RC ma or makeup for everyone because these get a pretty bad shimmer and this was a little sticky and I think I'm going to have to try the Beauty Bakery one a little more too because obviously I've never used this alone so I definitely I want to see how it actually wears before I put it in the baking mixture.
But I think using Victus setting powder is a really cool thing to do, I can't believe I never actually thought of it. Obviously, the point of mixing them is how you get the best of all worlds from the different setting powders. So I really like this test and I definitely recommend that if you have a lot of setting powders, you mix them together. Try its face and definitely. Let me know how you dress throughout the day, if you crack, if you look Matt. I want to hear from the team because I am very surprised by the results of this and I definitely want to continue doing this.
