[MediBang] Semirealism Skin Tutorial

Jun 07, 2021
Hello guys, welcome back to my channel, today we are going to do an updated mask

tutorial

, so without further ado, let's get started. The first thing we will do is add a second layer and bring it to the end of the sketch layer. we want the sketch layer to be on top of everything, so to do that we have to place the color layer below the sketch layer so that when we color the colors or go behind the sketch and not in front of it with the watercolor brush . I'm going to choose the dark base color that I had for sure in the top left palette.

I prefer to paint the entire canvas with the base color and move on. I like to start with a darker base color because if I apply a lighter

skin

color. On top of the base color, the base color became a shadow. However, you can start with a lighter base color and work your way up to darker colors if you prefer. Once the base color is done, we will apply the

skin

colors next, so reduce the opacity. watercolor brush level less than 50% for easy blending, also add a third layer on top of the second layer for skin color, if you are using a tablet, gently press the pen of your color, make sure to use the eyedropper also when you color by clicking the buttons on your pen or holding down the Alt key.

I suggest you get used to using the eyedropper tool while painting because it really helps you blend, so now I'm adding a fourth layer to put on. on highlights so now I'm going to show you where I put the highlight so that's where I made myself focus on putting the highlights so I'm going to delete that layer and I'm going to focus on my best layer again and I'm going to apply a lighter skin color on the forehead, the areas where I showed you to focus on adding the highlights. I also want to remind you that, as you can see, I'm always using the eyedropper tool while I'm painting. the skin color helps me to mix the skin color with the base color so that the skin color also absorbs the base color and creates a nice shadow, so now we will focus on our area, what I would like to do is like go back to the color eyelash and choose a slightly dark reddish orange color and apply it to the circles of the eye to create a round eye instead of a flat one and what I also like to do is with the same thing. color that I applied around the eye, I would apply the same colors on the cheek area as blush or contour.

I'm also applying it under the nose and under the lower lips and in the neck area now I just take a darker color to create depth for the neck because we want it to look like the light source is not hitting the neck but it just focuses on the face and then with the same color as the eye we just used for the eye we're going to use. to apply the same on her hand, so I will go back to the color palette and choose another light color that I had saved in advance and the available colors we will apply to the highlighted areas to create more dimension to face her face, I also play with the size and the opacity level of the brush.

What I like to do is when I apply details, I like to decrease the brush size in the range of 2 to 15 and increase the opacity. level to 80 around 80%, but when I'm blending I like to increase the brush size near the middle area like 50 around 50 and decrease the opacity percentage to less than 50%, so I skipped some parts highlighting the face because I was being a little picky and it was taking me longer and I should have done it, so now I'm just cleaning up the edges, but I'm basically repeating the same steps that I explained to you out of time, but I'm just adding. more tan color and skin tones to create more dimensions so for the eye area I like to apply a lighter reddish color under the eye area where the dark circles are to make the eye look round so for the outer edge of the eye I like to use a darker brown color, but for the inside of the eye I like to leave it light to create depth and shadow.
Also what I like to do is while coloring. I like to flip my image. You can flip the image by clicking the down arrow on the keyboard one of the reasons I like to keep putting my image is that as I color I can find the disproportion and fix it right there instead of fixing it instead of painting it all over and finish it and then flip the image. and in Lotus ink is abortion, it's actually much easier to fix it as you paint, so we'll add another fourth layer, including it above the third layer, but still below the sketch layer, for this layer we're going to focus on Li. mainly on the eye area and putting details in our area, so now I'm just painting the eye.
I'm not really adding details yet, that's why my opacity level is very low, so again you want to keep using the eyedropper tool because it really helps you blend in, so now let's paint the eyebrows or what we'll do is increase the first size about 10 but also keeping the opacity level below 50% so the colors blend. Easily match skin color for mouth area. I like to create a soft edge, so for the center of the mouth the color is very intense but gradually softens towards the outer edge. The way I do this is by gently pressing the tablet stylus. and using the eyedropper tool, everything is fine, so once everything is applied to the face, now it's time to blend, so now we'll go back to the brush tab and go down to the mascara folder.
I create this folder. specifically for skin coloring and skin blending, so these are the type of brushes I use for blending. If you don't have these brushes, you can download them by clicking on the cloud icon located at the bottom left of the brush tab, click on it and a variety of brushes will appear for you to download, so let's solve the learning switching to oil pastels, we're going to increase the brush size to about 50 in the middle area and we're going to increase the opacity percentage to about the 50 60 percent range, what I like about oil pastel is that its texture It looks like the texture of the skin.
Also make sure to use the eyedropper, as you can see I'm always using the eyedropper like I do. Applying oil pastels is now optional and depends on the case and preferences, but if you want a skin tone to look softer, you can switch to blending and apply it over the oil pastel to make the skin look soft. I also like to use those flatter ones. Brush too, the texture is slightly similar to oil pastel, but this best brush is more pixelated, but if you're okay with just using oil pastel, that's good too, that's how I prefer to paint my skin tone, total eggs .
We'll switch back to two watercolors and use a darker color for the inner parts of the list, then we'll take another flight when you turn on the slider colors to create brightness and move on to the eyebrows that we're going to use. the watercolor brush and decrease the first size very small, but also keeping that there is a path percentage that is 50% so that when we color, when you color, a fading effect is created and the corridors look more natural using the tool dropper that I captured. a dark eye color and applying those dark colors to the other parts of the eyebrows but ignoring the inner parts so that there is a light to dark fading effect on the eyebrows, now we are going to switch to sharp pencil, you can also Find this on the cloud.
One of the reasons I like the sharpened pencil is that it creates a sharp edge. It is very useful when you are painting strands of hair. Also notice how the size of the sharpened pencil is very small but the opacity percentage is very high. it allows to add details and make the image clearer, so I finished both eyebrows and now we will use this sharp pencil to create eyelashes. It's the same technique as the eyebrows, but we'll just use it to create. eyelashes also if you want to reduce the sharpness of the pin, you can use the smudge tool to soften the edges that
