Marble Bathroom installed on Schluter total Failure.

Marble Bathroom installed on Schluter total Failure.
and you think how Indy came up nice and oh my  god the pod West then we're on it hi you   see my hands Felix smooth skin look at this  look at it look oh my god look okay so I was   recently everything found out about this model  bottom that completely failed the

bathroom

was   all

installed

on shrewder products but incorrectly  and two very good installers Danny and Kyle gave   me the footage for this

bathroom

as they had to  tear apart and had to redo completely now Danny

and Kyle a very good

installed

excellent stalls  and I'm getting give you all of their information   in the description below I'm gonna give you you  know let you know who they are excetera Center   so if you need them you can you can call them  if you haven't

installed

something like that so   Danny was called in to look at the dispatch oh  yeah before he was even called in what happened   was the Installer this is all

marble

bathroom

  they

installed

this this

marble

tile polished

marble

tile and then grout it with sand the grout  right away there was a problem with the routing   of the the tile because it's the same in the  limit routing scratched all the model entirely   and there was also a ton Olympic look adjust when  one tile is higher than yellow so the homeowner   called in some people to refinish the tile and  so you know to polish it and make it look better   once that was done then Danny was called in by  the homeowners
because they had cracking rough the the cracking grout was actually a symptom of  a much larger problem which was a loose time so   Danny and cow they started initially they were  just going to replace a few tiles and to see   if they could you know get this bad possum you  know functional so as they were as you can see   as they sat the flat tiles they found that there  was the tiles of completely loose that were not   bonded at all to the substrate and something  just elated yeah
oh yeah oh that's a deal ash   and digging further they found other issues as  well so I want this

bathroom

was only in use   for like two or three months at the very most  so this was a new install the homeowner had to   spend thousands of dollars to have this bottom

installed

all right guys we need just a warrior think about that culverts there I think we can  use uses then we can reuse this is how you can   stretch I just clean it up clean up the edge  right there and we can
review this resistance up   it'll say 15 bucks they go through that anybody  we recycle pile here there you go nice nearly   clean that be not reset follow the perm at Zephyr  desk oh that is that doesn't mean one you have   to look like jewelry wire and a professional I'm  going to pull the tool up here let's see oh wait over here we do ATVs 1 2 3 Honolulu and look  at a patrol the period on this rivet inka right   right and works good because this contractor
was  recommended by a neighbor they thought that they   were getting someone that knew what they were  doing one of the one red flag that went out   that they should have realized was that he gave a  ridiculously low price to install the electrical   the plumbing and the tile no materials just just  the labor and that price was so old and it should   have died you should have set off some alarms so  like a lot of homeowners that a donee a room long   for the first time they really
marble bathroom installed on schluter total failure
don't know what  the cost might be so if they get someone that's   recommended and the price seems reasonable they're  probably just going to go with it not knowing that   if they haven't gotten a few other prices they  would have seen there was something wrong because   the prices of a contractor that actually knows  what he's doing and if they had had done caught   in two or three prices they would have seen seeing  that there was a problem somewhere I'm
going to   pull the tile over here and you see how easy came  up nice and oh my god this hog which then   water on the tile you see my head and then when  you came the first time that water alright so   that means that we have a leak nakisha all the  thinset is wet underneath here there's water   right there so anyways so this this contract

installed

the plumbing electrical and the tile   and in each of those areas of of expertise well  he didn't have any exercise
repeated to endow the   in each of those areas he made enormous mistakes  when Danny cross looked at it he looked at the   shower and he saw and that that could possibly  be a leak in the shower it looked like there was   going to be a problem in the shell but they didn't  know for sure until they got into the river we are   recording this time by removing the file oh and  then nothing going off for a little while as you   see here it says sugar curb and I still see
foam  which is telling me that it wasn't water proofing   it wasn't want to cook the route over and most  likely they

installed

it directly over top of   the phone but I can write them one beep right so  at this point this show has to go long fingers   and fingers four fingers go back butter on the  pile since that trial and error roads instead turning the heat on before the drying process  before the face I could actually cure we've got   a whole bunch of pink pillows
on here and  we're going to figure it out what's going   on that's it all right so once they got side  ripping out the floor and they got me in the   shower they pulled up a tile it was completely  wet so they stopped they called in an inspector   to take a look at it to see what was going  on for insurance purposes and then they can   then once that was settled they continue with  the project and they had to rip out the whole   thing as you as you can see in this
video now  the problem with this is that these were they   this install and use high quality products  sure the products I use of products all the   time innocence and it's very very good products  are like any product they use you have to know   how to install it like two layers of Hardiebacker  building up previous visit with screws drinkers   not want to prove her in here real well  okay another group and all the whole faces more pre-mixed inset no band here in the
marble bathroom installed on schluter total failure
corner  its core it wide open like this trip away some   of these pre-mixed in set screws or wide open  there's no no bands on the on the screws I got   bugs behind here from the moisture and it  reeks like mold I smell it now to open it   up yeah I smell it strong it's coming right  out of here so I already know look at this oh   my god it's wide open it tumbling along this  guy should never cut Kyle remodel ever again with the goddess idiot Wow take  much look at that
how you like that definitely not a acceptable  installation practice by any   means all the three makes  since it's still wet yep i simplified one came about anything we pre make  fences look at this is it well can take a mold   what oh boy I got home here idolize no its mold  all in here premix benefit there is no waterproof   nothing you can see it this guy was just flying  by the seat of your pet his pants one of the major   problems that he did on the walls was that he
used  spot bonding which that in itself is is a huge   issue because there's no the tile is not support  at all and it's held in place by very small areas   of thin-set but besides that major issue there  was also the fact that he didn't do install the   shorter system properly all he puts he put screws  and nails everywhere where they shouldn't be he   didn't apply any of the banding to make the to  seal the shower and make a completely waterproof   the thing
about Schroeder is the tough body in  the shower area should actually be completely   waterproof before you were storing any time you  could should be able to take a shower in the   unfinished installation of the

Schluter

products  and not have a leak the tile should only be a   dressing for the waterproofing in essence he made  many many many many many errors he's no bandung   as i said he used mastic in some areas which is a  complete no-no in a wet area and actually
should   probably never be used in most cases another  couple of mistakes that he made was he being so   shelf else but he didn't leave any access to the  shelf stuff so if they had to shut off the water   there was no way to get to know buried and in a  place where they couldn't be couldn't be accessed   to shut the water off now would an another error  that made the area that he made is with

marble

tile you need to have a very stiff floor the the  stiffness of the
solar has to be twice that it   would be for a porcelain tile he used per day so  heat on the floor and he bonded the bird asel mat   directly to the subfloor which is actually wrong  he should have

installed

another layer of plywood   on the subfloor then that rotates on that and  then the tile another thing that he did wrong   which is you can see in this in this video is  that he he put the sensor under the vanity where   there was no time before it the thermostat  is supposed
to read where the heat is at so basically a service that is reading over here  for 70 degrees minus 70 degree here over here is   on also you're supposed to use a dedicated  circuit for the electrical heat he didn't   do that either he he ties it into an existing  circuit so it's just error upon error upon era   upon era so what I want to get at here is that  if you're going to hire someone to install your   expensive tile you need to get someone that  knows what
they're doing like Danny and cow   they know exactly what they're doing they do  a wonderful job Danny actually have a youtube   channel I'm going to link to that you can tell in  the description as well don't screw think it was   a wedge so in conclusion while you watch these  last few pictures of this complete disaster of   an install and you can absorb the enormity of  this

failure

the wasted money that went into   this job the cost to replace it and rip it
out  and do it all over again buy all new material   so as I said I'm gonna put Danny's and Kyle's  information in the description below they're   both NtcA members as am i and TCA stands for  the National tile Contractors Association and   if you find a contractor that has is a member of  the NtcA you know you're going to get a proper   install this is a much more common occurrence than  you could possibly imagine and just make sure that   you check references
you get multiple prices when  you get go to have

installed

on do some research   know what to expect know the things that should be  done and as always and don't forget to subscribe   and leave your comments in the comment section  below and I'll try to answer as many as I can so I always put links in the description  for several for several things so check   those out if you want and I hope  you found this video enlightening   as to what can actually happen  we don't
hire qualified installs
