The funny thing is that when I was a kid I used balls with airplanes and cut them out of tissue paper, this is exactly the way I did it, so I'll do what I did when I was a kid and repeat the same method, so here we go, we have one major problem: my brilliant plan to put up these aluminum foil balloons.

They are there because they are more oval shaped and take up less space when I can stack them inside it doesn't work the reason these things can only lift a couple of grams I don't think they are going to lift no matter what I do now Take these normal balloons from here I eat the normal latex party balloons and blow them up and they actually seem to rise a little higher than these and this works but we have to do something different if this is going to work these are not a good use of space because you figure you put two of these balloons next to each other, you have all that dead space inside them that is not used to live lifting gas lifting minus three grams that airframe now weighs about 55 grams do the math quickly and there are too many of these balloons that we have to put inside for this to work so we're going to need to find a custom solution and unfortunately I've never gotten into the task of

making

custom rc blimp envelopes so this project just got a little more difficult so here's what I'm thinking: we're going to make a custom blimp that goes inside the

rigid

frame of the body, this will use most of the space to lift gas, so this floats a little better, we have about 0.7 millimeters.

Plastic drop cloth I did a little research last night because I'm in full panic mode right now because I need this to work, but apparently it looks like if you take this and fold it back on itself, take a little bit of wax paper and now if you go through this along this is supposed to seal the two bottom halves together, let's see if it holds air. I'm going to make the actual balloon, the wax paper is absolutely necessary because if I touched the plastic with the iron, it would actually just melt the iron through the plastic and it would stay together, look at that, that wasn't bad at all, man.

It was easier than I thought to make this oh no it's leaking well maybe I need to work on my sealing game but hey we're almost there we have a helium bag for the rigid blimp it's not a blimp because I'm very impatient, bring this up, it's an air bag, I think this is amazing, I think it's pretty well sealed, the air pressure will be very low, but I think we can do it, it will leak for sure, I know. probably about 30 minutes or so before it starts to really sink in, so I think this will definitely work, that's how condoms work, okay, let's put the air back in the bag.

I'm holding it oh no, I'm actually very fragile look at this, I have two jackets so you saw me do this one, however I want to try a miler to see if it works differently, unfortunately it's probably best to hold on to it. helium inside, however, it weighs about 60 grams, which is very heavy, so I think we're going to go with a plastic one because this one weighs a total of 30 grams, so that's almost two of those in one of these , so I'm going to put this in right now and we'll try to add some helium to it and see if we get the float because it will be great if it starts to flow.

Okay, that's great, oh, I miscalculated, the shell weighs 50 grams, the envelope weighs 30 grams, that's 80 grams, I supposedly should be able to technically get around 110 120 grams, you know, that's only 80 grams of air and helium, so it could be full of Shit, for all I know, for the other ratio, so we don't get pure helium here, which makes this equation a little worse. I bet you if you go to hydrogen we will experience more lift force, okay let's try charging this. Well, oh no, it's still too heavy, okay, let's see if these little motors can push, we may need to change this, I think I'm going to have to change it, come on, no, yeah, we don't have enough thrust. here to get off the ground like this thing can barely lift its own weight so I've decided to remove these ducted fans and go with larger open fittings like this and hopefully go to a lighter gearbox.

Let's see if I can get this to float, we're not light enough to float yet. There is not enough volume to float naturally. I think I have a plan. It won't be as fast as the rest of the things I wanted. Like I did all this, you know, spin the motor assembly and it's going to be really cool because that will potentially control it.
