Mattel didn't remember that Barbie actually had a voice, so I tell the lady at Mattel, well, I made the training video, it's like a claymation. thing and with all these kids dancing and she's like oh I said so I'm actually Barbie's first voice so I'm going to recreate it here for you now so it started off a

little

awkward and then You're nice I hope I didn't insult you or anything she says, no, I probably should have done a

little

more research, but anyway we came up with a way because the goal was to make her so real and vulnerable and smart and authentic and not for us to think of her as a doll. plastic, so the goal was to give her a reality of a real life and make her real, you know, and although when I recorded I recorded her as if they were her body because she had the restraints of her arms and legs, so I recorded her physically like that , but our goal was to make her vulnerable and authentic so that people could identify with her, not just because of her appearance. but that she actually has a heart and she actually has some energy, you know, something spicy about her, um, so we were able to do that with Toy Story 2 and then when we got to Toy Story 3, we were able to really develop her character . even more, I'm glad you enjoyed it, yeah, super fun, okay, we'll hide back here.

Can you see the last question? Last question, um, first of all, thank you for coming here, thank you, thank you for having me. Well, my question is which one. It's your favorite aerial quote um I think I have two things that are special to me and I would say probably at the beginning of the song maybe I'm right maybe there's something wrong with me I just don't see what a world that does such wonderful things is like. that can be bad I love that line and then I love at the end of the movie when she holds her dad and whispers and says I love you dad I love that line it's so beautiful it completes the story circle um it shows her maturity, shows his relationship with his family, for me, my father left when I was 11, so that line was very difficult for me, it took me two or three different days of recording to finish that line without any breaking and Howard was great and very helpful with me on that and um so I think those lines are super special to me yeah so thank you for that question I appreciate it thank you so much for having me today.
